After ultra-popular reality show Friendship is Magic was cancelled after its first season—despite all its viewers, there were few who bought anything the ads advertised—a different developer and channel launched what was essentially its continuation, but they weren’t as interested in the child-friendly parts of the Ponyville residents’ lives.
This isn’t actually a clopfic; there are some relatively prudish sex scenes that go right up to the sex, say it happened, then show the characters after, and some that happen during it but focus on something not very cloppable, but it’s certainly enough for a mature designation. Most of the chapters are not about sex.
The chapters are very episodic, and they can be read many in a row or months apart just as easily; the comedy/SoL pairing could be cynically taken to mean "it's a bit of a sitcom". As for the types of jokes there are, a lot of the punchlines are anticlimaxes. Not anti-jokes, but there are a lot more periods than exclamation marks as far as the tone goes.
