"Was it Fate--a Destiny I had no control over, set in motion by forces far beyond me long before I was ever born? Or were my choices truly my own, and the consequences of those choices a thing of my own making? Was I always meant to break and run away to another world, just so I would be in the position to set things right that had gone awry ages ago? In the end, did I walk this path by my own free will, or was I pushed into it? Even now, looking back on it all, I don't think I'll ever know for certain..."
Sunset's whole life had been filled with things that always felt beyond her control, something she struggled against for as long as she could remember. So many demands and expectations heaped upon her from every corner of society, some she felt she would never measure up to no matter how hard she tried, and others...well...in so many ways, she wanted nothing more than to prove those ponies--and later, people--wrong.
And thus, she made a choice to take control on her terms, for better or for worse, to rise higher and burn brighter than anyone ever believed she could. A stolen crown, a magic mirror, and a crushing defeat--a story everyone already knows...
What she couldn't know was just how far the consequences of that choice would reach, not just for her, but for everyone around her. What she forgot, what everyone failed to remember, is that every choice, every act is like tossing a pebble into a still pond, creating ripples that extend ever outward, and even when the ripples dissipate, the pebble still sits at the bottom of the pond, changing it forever.
For every choice, there are consequences, good or bad.
Putting on a Crown may have changed Sunset Shimmer's life...

A Sci-set flavored, Sunset-centric story that is two parts redemption story, one part romance, and one part epic magical girl adventure. The first, and primary story in what is slowly growing into a universe of tales that is taking over the author's life.
