In the land of Equestria, alchemy is the art of identifying magical properties in ingredients, and using those properties to produce potions with unique effects. It has been used for centuries to produce potent poultices and cure many ailments, but has long since been neglected in favor of unicorn magic. Some ailments—dark remnants of ancient, chaotic magics—have never successfully been cured through alchemy or magic. Such is the case for the abandoned victims of a cockatrice's petrifying gaze.
For Silver Script, a former human now living in Canterlot, alchemy seems the most likely answer in righting a tragic wrong. It is her hope that she can somehow do what many have failed to do before. She wants desperately to return a foal to its mourning parents even if it means doing the unspeakable.
