Zecora Loyalty Part A: A mother!?

Spike ran outside, giving him and Sunset some space. He stopped and leaned against the side of a wall, taking in deep breaths.

That was... so awkward He thought to himself.

"Commander," WOONA spoke "There is a problem in the Life Support control room."

"A problem?" Spike asked "What do you- Ach!" The ship's lights dimmed down as he fell to his knees , all of the oxygen cut off from the place. He wheezed for breath, trying to take in as much air as he could, though to no success

"Reebooting." A loud whir was heard, and air came back. Spike took in the air, wheezing as he felt choked before he puked on the floor. Looking around, Diamond Tiara, Sunset Shimmer, Trixie, Gilda, Mrs. Cake, Nurse Redheart, and all of the crew mates came out of their rooms, all coughing and hacking for breath.

"...The fuck was that!?" Gilda demanded with deep breaths.

"Let... me handle it." Spike replied, getting up, but using the walls as support. "Get back... to your duties." Everyone looked to each other, nodded, and returned, though a couple of the mates went to the medical room for Redheart's help. Spike entered the Life support room, feeling how arid and warm the place was, much to Spike's pleasure. Zecora sat on a table with her back at Spike, wearing the hood around her head and speaking in her native language, praying for something. "Zecora?" She held a finger up, signaling him to give her a minute. He walked to her, hearing the last of her prayer.

"I apologize greatly for my mistake," she spoke "I... nearly killed everyone, including Mrs. Cake."

"Yes, you did. What's going on? Planning to kill us all when this is done?"

"I do not wish for that, Commander. I want you to return home, back to your older sister."

"Yeah, but with something like that, it's looking pretty hard. What is it? Tell me, I want to help."

"...Remember back in Ponyville, right before the poison joke made you all ill?" Spike walked to Zecora and took the seat in front of her.

"Twilight and the others judged you, I just came up with their nicknames and offered them help on how to be normal again."

"Yes, but with all of that abide, you should know I was there to hide."

"Hide? From what, exactly?"

"...Back on my home planet, I... broke many rules, for I wasn't what I was, but a teacher in my own schools."

"Education isn't allowed on your home planet?"

"Far from it; teaching is how we survived, but many of my students were young and usually cried."

"Wait... you... you had an orphanage!?" She nodded.

"With my people, they hate the weak, but I knew, they could reach their peak."

"Ok, let me get this straight: when you were younger, there were many orphaned and weak kids around you, but since your people hate the weak, you decided to make an underground orphanage to help these kids become strong once again, and perhaps be great?"

"Indeed, that is the reason, but this lead me to my treason."

"What do you mean? Are-...Holy shit! You... you killed your people who were suspicious about you!?"

"I couldn't afford any chances. It had to be a secret, as any would at first glances. I was doing well, putting as much as I will, but there was one I couldn't kill."

"Who was that?" She remained silent for a time, getting up from her seat and looking out to the Celestia's engine.

"This... as you should know, is that I have a son, named Zecoro."

"... My god... there's a lot we didn't know about you." She turned to him.

"There are secrets we don't want to share, but only if the people ask is when we'd dare."

"That's... fair enough. What do you want me to do? Help you become a member of your village again? Find the lost children? Or do you-"

"All of those are nice, but this is as simple as ice. My son is following my career, but as one should sincere."

"He's... trying to be an assassin, like you?"

"But without a cause, which means he'll soon lose his paws."

"And where is he?"

"About a week ago, before I became a 'bro', I received a message about my son, still on Zebafrica's around it's sun. He wishes to be like me, but doing so will make him bleed."

"Hold on... your son... is trying to be an assassin?"

"I must stop his plans, or this will be his final stand."

"Gotcha. Spitfire! Send coordinates to Zebafrica!"

"Gotcha"

Zebafrica:

The homeplanet of the Zebs, when they first landed, Celestia and Luna believed that they landed on Earth's Africa, until they read the Oxygen levels. Zebafrica's oxygen is considered toxic for many species, requiring either a breathing mask or oxygen tank to explore. It's inhabitants, the Zebs, live in the trees on the edges of jungles and plains.  Their lives are more traditional, but some villages have accepted new forms of technology as a means to hunt better and make life a bit easier.

Spike, Zecora, and Big Mac landed on Zebafrica's surface. While Zecora took in a deep breath, Spike's helmet went up, filtering in Oxygen for him, as Big Mac put on a gas mask himself, which also filtered in Oxygen he could breath. Zecora lead the way, and soon enough, they landed inside her old village. Spike and Big Mac saw how traditional it was: Men brought in the hunted meals while women did the gardening & took care of the children. The kids themselves did what Spike expected: boys wrestled each other while learning how to use different tools, and the girls conversed with each other as they learned the ways of gardening & child caring. What actually surprised him was that, despite the traditional, he saw some of the kids & adults using tablets; kids for more childish things as watching movies or playing games while the adults set up lists and important documents, one in particular was wearing a doctor's outfit and was looking at an X-Ray of another Zeb. They traveled into the village, but many of the locals stopped and whispered to each other in their native language. A much elder male Zeb stood in front of Zecora, cackling.

"Well, well, well," he spoke "If it isn't the killer of this little village, returning for justice."

"Ziona, you may be at top place," Zecora replied "but get out of my face."

"Heh, still rhyming away as usual? When will you stop your rhyming trope and speak like a regular person? Everyone else has."

"Indeed, most have adapted, but the past will soon be contrasted."

"Hey, we still follow the traditions of our ancestors! What are you doing here and why shouldn't we kill you fir killing so many of us?"

"If you are finished having fun, I must quickly find my son."

"Heh, that boy of your? He left the village after we chased you down! He's most likely dead."

"Do not underestimate my family! He's alive, you'll see!"

"Ha! Like you!?" Ziona left the three alone, but a couple of Male Zeb guards approached them. Spike pulled out his assault rifle as Big Mac with his shotgun. Zecora lifted her hand.

"We mustn't kill; just by being here makes my heart ill."

We're here to save your lives.

Run away

Threaten.
