I was a little worried today, I hadn’t seen Emerald Shine in a while, not since dads death. It hit me pretty hard, I failed to protect him and now he’s dead. As I was walking through the gardens I heard a twig snap and a cloaked pony would attack me. Jumping back I would get on the defense. A while back, Rainbow taught me some Kung Fu in case I ever came into danger. As he tried blasting me with a spell I would dodge and fire at him with a fire spell, watching as he ripped off the hood, revealing Emerald Shine.

“Huh? What the hell? Why are you attacking me Emerald?”

Emerald: “Always you, it has always been you Comet. Becoming the element of honour, being dads favourite. I am sick of it!”

I would growl a bit, he had clearly gone insane. This isn’t the caring brother I remember.

“Why are you attacking me? I thought you wouldn’t hurt your siblings.”

Emerald: “Shut up, just shut up!”

He would charge up a lightning spell, intent on killing me. I would shoot back with a lighting spell, our spells clashing, making it into a struggle. As I gained the upper hoof, he gets blasted back. I would watch as he starts shaking

Emerald: “No more…..NO MORE BEING SECOND BEST, I WILL SLAUGHTER YOU!”

I gasped as I saw him changing, his hatred was changing him. His eyes changing from the ocean blue I knew into a fiery red, eyes turning slitted. His feathery wings turned into grotesque bat wings and his mane turning into a brush like mane.
Finally his teeth grew sharp and he would finish changing.

“Oh my….Emerald, what has happened to you?”

Emerald: “I don’t wish to be called Emerald Shine any longer. Now….. I am Darkscar!”

I would get ready to fight again but gasps as he would gallop at unnatural speeds. I couldn’t keep up with his movements as he then attacked me, employing hit and run tactics. Every hit felt like a mountain hitting me. Every time I tried to attack he would merely zoom around and hit me. He would then knock me into a tree, the impact breaking my wings.

Darkscar: “Any last words before I destroy you Comet?”

“Why…why did you do this brother?”

He would laugh and press a hoof on me forcing me down, his eyes glowing with his hatred

Darkscar: “Why? Well I will tell you. All my life I have wanted to be one of the elements of harmony. I trained extensively and hard to achieve that wish. You stole that from me when you became the element of honour. Since that day I have hated every ounce of your being till I just wanted you to suffer and die. You are a failure Comet, for if it wasn’t for you, father would still be alive. It is your fault that he is dead”

“N-no, it’s not my fault”

He would laugh a sort of insane laugh and grin at me, his teeth shimmering before he presses me harder into the ground

Darkscar: “You should have defended yourself, father saw you couldn’t escape in time and foolishly sacrificed himself.

You are a fool Comet; you should never have been born!”

I would close my eyes and sigh as I look up at him

“Then why don’t you kill me…..I’ve lost you and I’ve lost dad…..but at least mom, Aunt Celestia and Star will be safe”

Darkscar: “Oh no dear comet…. They are next! They too had never acknowledged me. After I kill you, I will kill them and any who cross in my path. I will be the king of Equestria!”

So much had happened…my father, murdered by Discord, my own brother trying to kill me and turning into Darkscar . And now he wanted to kill everypony. Even Rainbow….. At that moment I finally realised something. Despite the bond I have with everypony else, Rainbow had always tried to be nice to me. I knew right then and there. I am in love with Rainbow Dash.

Darkscar: “And maybe I will make that pathetic mare rainbow dash my own personal slave, my pathetic little slut to do with as I please!”

I would gasp and look at him with pure hate in my eyes.

“Don’t you dare touch Rainbow you bastard!”

He would merely laugh and smash me through a tree, throwing then catching me and throwing me to the balcony outside of the castle. He would walk toward me and press his hoof against my neck, his horn glowing with a lightning spell

Darkscar: “You cannot do anything you pathetic little fool Comet. You will die here by my hoof. So now….it’s time to end this little game Prince Comet Rider. It’s your fall AND MY RISE!”

There was no use, try as I might I could not escape from his grip. It appears this is it, the end of the road. I only wish I could have told Rainbow how I really feel about her. I would wait for Darkscar to kill me, but suddenly something awakened inside me. I would close my eyes and start shaking; I felt my heart race and my vision fading. A voice inside me would laugh darkly and I would feel a searing pain. I finally discerned the meaning of Nightmare Moon’s last message.

Nightmare Moon’s image flashed into my mind after I touched the armour, looking at me with pure hate.

Nightmare Moon: “You may have stopped me my son, but you haven’t changed your fate….ARMAGEDDON WILL RISE!!”

Then it was really happening, Armageddon was rising no…..I am Armageddon. Darkscar would let me go and look at me with shock. Looking at my hoof I saw darkness rising from it. It seems I really am the son of Nightmare Moon. Mom, Star, Twi……and Rainbow. I’m sorry. And then……everything went black.
