Kenshin's first night in Equestria was anything but peaceful. Dark memories from his childhood were playing through his head. He dreamt of the caring mother and father he had before they passed away, which led to him being sold into slavery. He dreamt of the night in which three women who he had only known for a couple of days had given there lives to protect him. Three women the boy had failed to protect. He remembered her last words for him before she was murdered, "Shinta you must survive to honor those who did not. Save yourself." He remembered the man who had saved him, and who had later renamed him. He dreamt of each and every soul he had cut down during the revolution. The amount of blood on his hands was staggering, he had learned to move past it and repent by saving as many lives as he could. This man would repent with his own life if it was enough. Ever since coming to Equestria and speaking with Twilight Sparkle; he imagined the stark horror reaction she would give him if she found out the truth. No, when she found out the truth. This was not a simple matter he would hide away.

As the memories from the revolution continued to haunt him, he heard a sympathetic voice call to him in his slumber. "Thou will dream peacefully, human." Warm darkness overtook his mind, wrapping his mind like a blanket bringing comfort. Twilight groggily awoke to Kenshin's trashing at three in the morning. While she considered whether or not to wake him up, Kenshin had unknowingly thrown the bed sheets onto the ground. While Twilight was levitating the sheets back onto the bed, Kenshin's thrashing as randomly as it had started suddenly stopped. The pained expression upon his face grew into a sweet smile as his breathing became slower and easier. Deciding to just ignore the matter, Twilight snuggled up next to him curling the same way a cat would. Closing her eyes she returned to her slumber.

As Twilight slowly started to rouse from her sleep, Kenshin decided this might be a good time as any to talk to her. "Good Morning Miss Twilight, did you sleep well?"

"Morning Kenshin, I slept well thank you for asking. How long have you been awake?" Twilight asked as she slowly started to get her bearings.

"I've only been awake for a few hours."

"You have been awake for a few hours!" Twilight replied, quite confused as to why she was not woken up earlier. "Why didn't you wake me up, I'm so sorry about that."

"Don't be, you have patched me up and given me a bed to sleep in Miss Twilight. You also sounded quite cute sleeping snuggled up against me." Kenshin responded with a kind smile on his face. Twilight blushing madly with embarrassment buried her head in the covers with her rump sticking out facing away from Kenshin. Kenshin noticing her tried to change the subject. "I've never noticed, all of these wonderful sounds yesterday it is quite peaceful." He said at an attempt to clam her down.

"Please just call me Twilight, there is no need for the Miss." Replied Twilight taking her head out of the covers to look up at him.

As Kenshin was about to respond he was interrupted by his stomach, that let out a massive growl. His face flushed with embarrassment, " Excuse me Mi-, I mean Twilight." He replied, quickly unable to hide the blush from his cheeks from Twilight. 'Wait why am I blushing? She isn't human, I need to keep that in mind.' Thought Kenshin.

"Here are some apples Kenshin." Twilight giggled, while levitating an apple into one of Kenshin's hand. "Here let me set the bucket next to you its going to be on your left, ill leave the apple juice on the counter to your right. You can reach it from where you are sitting just reach out slowly and you should be able to get it. That or I can just levitate it to you if you prefer." Twilight responded, remembering that Kenshin was blind. ' I'll have to look up medical books later to see maybe if I can return his sight.' Twilight thought to herself.

"Kenshin, I set you're katana on the ground leaning against the counter. I also invited the girls over here today to talk to you." Twilight said to Kenshin while he was stuffing his mouth with as many as he could fit. Thoroughly amused, Twilight decided to watch Kenshin gorge himself with apples. Looking into his eyes she saw a pain in them, despite his brave smile he had across his face. Deciding to simply wait until the girls got here to ask serious natured questions Twilight decided to not ask about what he was hiding.

"So Kenshin, what were you listening to while I was asleep?" Twilight asked still looking into his mysterious eyes.

"Well Twilight, while I had eyesight I never paid a great deal attention to all the sounds around me which usually went unnoticed."

"Which sounds would those be?"

Before answering her, Kenshin slowly reached out and grabbed the Apple Juice on the counter top next to him. Taking his time he slowly downed the entire quantity of Apple Juice. Turning to face Twilight, he took a deep breath and exhaled calmly before he resumed speaking.

"The sound of the winds breeze ruffling the trees leaves, the chirping of the birds in the morning. Which reminds me twilight, I have never heard a building quite like this one before. Excuse me if I'm wrong Twilight, it sounds as if this building has leaves and branches? Kenshin asked quite baffled to what he was hearing.

"My house is inside of a tree, it is hollowed out but the tree itself is still functioning and alive."

'How is a hollowed out tree alive? Then again I am talking to a unicorn right now can use magic. Some questions are better left unanswered.' Kenshin thought.

As Twilight was just about to respond a certain Rainbow Maned Pegasus flew into the room followed by the rest of the mane six. At point in time Twilight was still on the bed next to Kenshin looking into his eyes.

"Hi Twilight, you didn't answer the door so we let ourselves in. I apologize if we are interrupting a private moment between the two of you." Said Rarity as they all backed out of the room embarrassed.

"WAIT WHAT! It isn't like that! We only slept together!" exclaimed a flustered Twilight Sparkle.

"Oh, my" Replied Fluttershy as she attempted to hide behind her mane.

"Love knows no boundaries!" Rarity said while posing quite dramatically.

Rainbow Dash rolling around on the ground laughing while looking at Fluttershy decided to crack wise. "Hey Fluttershy, Twilight is trying to take your stallion."

Try as she might Fluttershy couldn't sink into the floor. Fluttershy tried her best to hide behind her mane as she cowered in sheer embarrassment on the floor, hiding behind her mane and hooves. "I-I-I d-don't l-l-like Kenshin li-like t-that." Fluttershy stammered.

Applejack then proceeded to slap Rainbow Dash upside the head.

"OW AJ, Isn't your job to buck apples and not hit me upside my head! It was only a joke, I am still sore from yesterday." Rainbow Dash cried rubbing a hoof

"I don't know Rainbow, I'm ah starting to think about a change of professions." Cracked applejack.

"Oh, ha ha very funny AJ"

"Ahm sorry sugar cube, but you deserved it you know how Fluttershy is." Said Applejack pointing a hoof to where Fluttershy still was hiding on the ground.

"Nothing happened last night girls. I only have one bed so we shared it. Now, get those silly thoughts out of your head so we can get to business." Said an irritated Twilight Sparkle.

"But dear." Rarity started before being Interrupted by Twilight, "NOTHING HAPPENED!"

"I was only going to say that we accept you if you're in love with him."

"We're NOT like that Rarity! Maybe your boyfriend Tom and Kenshin can meet later."

"I thought we agreed never to speak of that again." Said Rarity, who was squinting angrily at Twilight.

"Who is Tom?" Asked Kenshin, resulting a chuckle from Applejack. Rainbow Dash not having as much grace rolled on the ground laughing her wings off next to Fluttershy who was still hiding."

"Drop the subject, and never ask again." Vehemently replied Rarity.

Kenshin felt something he hasn't felt in a long time. The fear of another being, this was quite different then the other type of fear. Which was the fear of the safety of a loved one. Cold sweat drenched his back when he imagined all the things Rarity would do if he brought up that taboo subject again. (Imagine what he is imagining, he used to be an assassin.)

Breaking the awkward silence that had settled in the room, Kenshin decided to speak up. "Hey so why did somepony decide to gasp loudly and run from the room." A loud unison facehoof of the remaining ponies in the room could be heard.

"That was Pinkie Pie a friend of ours, most likely your going to be thrown a party later tonight. She is a bit random, she gets like that when she meets new ponies."

Deciding not to state out the obvious that he wasn't a pony, Kenshin decided to just ignore that matter for now. Instead he decided to get acquainted with everyone else.

"Hello, My name is Himura Kenshin. It is nice to meet Twilight's friends."

"Bounjor, my name is Rarity. It is simply marvelous to meet you."

"Howdy, names Applejack. An I work at Sweet Apple Acres. Grew those apples you had for breakfast."

"Those apples were the best apples I have ever had. I thank you for them." Kenshin replied.

"Ahh.. Shoot sugar cube you should be thanking Twilight she bought them for you."

"Well AJ, I do get a huge allowance from Celestia, being her personal student and all. Though usually I spend it all on books."

"I thank you again, Twilight. I will pay you back one day, I give you my word on my masters grave."

"N-no problem?...*pause*... Kenshin." Twilight replied.

'Masters grave? OK that's creepy, maybe its a human thing.' Twilight thought to herself.

"Hello, my name is Fluttershy." She squeaked barely audible.

"She was the one who bandaged y'all up." Butted in Applejack.

"Thank you miss Fluttershy, you have saved my life. If there is anything I can ever do for you to repay you just ask me."

"Oh, it's quite alright. There is no need to repay me, I'll always lend a helping hoof to anypony who needs it."

"Thank you for your kindness, Fluttershy I will never forget it."

"Nice to see you again Kenshin. Just a friendly warning though I'm watching you." Stated rainbow dash eying him and then his sword next to the bed.

"Rainbow! Be polite!" Yelled Twilight, while she stood on all fours, a furious blush spread across her cheeks as she prayed to Celestia that Kenshin would not be offended.

"I am! He has his weapon back he needs to be warned."

"It is alright Twilight, Miss Dash's loyalty to her friends is commendable." Kenshin replied, while sitting up to stretch his arms. Pausing for a moment, hoping there were more apples he proceeded to reach his hand out and search the wooden bucket on the bed. Taking a deep breath he released a sigh which seemed to go unnoticed. With his chest exposed through the shredded clothing, he placed his back against the oak frame of the bed while he raised the blankets protectively around his shoulders.

"Well it is my element after all." Boasted Rainbow Dash as she puffed out her chest.

"I heard about the elements of harmony yesterday when Twilight explained them to me. I can really see how well it fits you girls."

"But, you can't see you're blind." Rainbow Dash replied.

"Rainbow Dash! That behavior is unacceptable, apologize to Kenshin at once!" Said an angry marshmallow.

"That was mighty low of ya Rainbow." Added Applejack.

"Sorry Kenshin." quickly replied Rainbow Dash, with her head bent over in shame her rainbow mane was draped across across her face. Her hair was swaying softly from side to side as she realized the gravity of the offense she said. Rainbow Dash was many things but being a bully was not one of them. She always vowed to herself to never bully anypony like she once was in flight school. She never cared about being up in someponys face but being mean for no reason at all was beyond her.

"That's OK Miss Dash, I don't feel upset about my blindness." Kenshin said, quite unaware as to how much Rainbow was moping.

"Hey Kenshin. I think I speak for all of us when I say there is no need to use the Miss when talking to us." Rainbow Dash meekly replied as she raised her head, which got a chorus of agreement from the room.

"I also think we can all agree upon to just call me the great and powerful Dashie instead." Rainbow Dash said boastfully to try and salvage her pride as being boastful. She always did do something stupid when she trying to salvage her pride, remembering a certain Maredowell incident. The entire room turned deathly silent as a certain pegasus mare received many murderous glances. "Just kidding about that last part just forget that I said that." Dashie said, while awkwardly chuckling it off.

"Why don't we continue our conversation downstairs instead? Kenshin suggested.

author notes: (I'm Sorry about how slow the story is progressing. I'll try to speed it up some, but I'm just having so much fun writing this. Only wrote this chapter as fast as I did because of the supportive comments I received over the first two chapters. Felt motivated when people told me they enjoyed it and were tracking. I promise you this much there is going to be action and a lot of it. Just trying to set up the tone of the story, considering he is still injured I am just giving him some time to recuperate. Man if I told you some of the action scenes I have planned for him I bet some of you would flip! (In a good way.) I wanna tell you guys so bad, but I won't gonna surprise ya. I decided if my story goes below at 3.2 I am just going to give up. My goal is a 4.0 and currently its at a 3.9 .... Ohhhh cruel fate. Also If you guys don't like romance i can tune down the blushing and giggly shit. I'm not gonna ship Kenshin with a pony, you can relax, probably not unless you guys tell me to..

P.S. I tried a lot harder on this chapter could you tell. Well for my punctuation and stuff still no editor or proof reader.)
