Chapter 13: Clubs And Costumes
Previous Chapter Next ChapterSince that little alleyway incident, you kept away from annoying Dash. She seemed to know more about fighting than you thought she did. A lot more. Yes, she did catch your fist on the day you met her, but almost anyone can do that if they have good reflexes. Dash's shoulder occasionally started bleeding on the slightest touch, through the bandage you wrapped around her medium-deep cuts. The problem was that she couldn't do sports, her life-long activities that took her mind off her family. This made her thoughts drift to her parents, her sister. So you constantly had to comfort her, which you didn't care. Comforting her meant hugging her.
"Dash, do you have a costume for the Nightmare Night party?" You said while hugging Dash tightly.
"Yes, but I don't wanna wear it. It's too embarrassing."
"How's that?" You loosened your arms, and combed through Dash's soft, multi-coloured hair.
"Daring Do... I might not go at all." She dropped her gaze to the floor.
"You have to go! It won't be any fun without you!"
"Yes it will..." She looked up at you, her magenta eyes piercing into your plain eyes.
"No. I am dragging you there no matter what." Your face looked serious, but you were filled of million and millions of d'awww.
"Okay..."
"Plan out your costume, the party starts at 8:00pm and it's 2:00pm. Don't wanna be late." You pointed to the closet after you let go of Dash.
"Fine." She walked over to the closet, opening it slightly and picking out a adventurer-like costume with the hat and all, "Do I have to?"
"Of course you do." I don't have a costume... I'm a hypocrite.
"Where's your costume?" She said, placing her outfit on her bed and flattening it out.
"I don't have one."
"So I have to wear my costume, yet you don't have one?! Go to Rarity and get one." She huffed with crossed arms and a pout.
You did so, and Rarity was upset at your late timing. Of course, being Rarity and all, her costume was a princess. You grunted as she took your measurements and wrote them down, and Rarity was grunting all the same.
"You are going to be a prince and you will like it." She said, picking up some white fabric. She started sewing, and looked towards you, "Leave, it will be done in an hour or so."
"Fine," You turned around to exit, "Ms. Angrybutt."
"Ignorant!" She shouted back.
Dash was laying on the couch reading her book, coming to a quick end. There was about ten pages left, and she was smiling with her back legs swinging up and down constantly.
"Rarity's making me a costume. Once she gives it to me, I'm gonna smother fake blood onto it and rip the edges. It'll be awesome."
"Cool. One second." She waved you off and finished off the chapter, "Okay. I'm done reading for today."
"So, what do ya wanna do?" You smiled, walking over to your bed.
"Oh I think I know." She tucked her book under the couch pillow and went to tackle you, "Let's wrestle!"
"But Dash... Your shoulder." You had your hands on Dash's ribcage, holding her up and preventing her from landing on you.
"Right..." She frowned, looking down at you, "CoD?"
"CoD." You rolled away, letting Dash fall onto the bed. But, she stopped herself with her arms and stood up, running to the Xbox and turning it on.
She also turned on her computer, logging into Skype and calling the group. Only Blossomforth and Pinkie were online, so it was them that were playing. Blossomforth and Dash were on the same team, you and Pinkie were on the same team. Dylan was playing, but wasn't on Skype. He was on Dash's team, and some random person was on yours. There was a few more people, and the game begun. Of course, Pinkie was first to die since she had no clue what to do.
"I DIED." Pinkie shouted, almost happily.
"Well we're losing." You said, killing Dylan, then Dash killing you.
"Yes, you are!" Dash smiled and cheered.
"You're dead, Dash." You said.
"Not I'm not-" She said after killing some dude, "WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUU-"
"Ha." Blossomforth falsely laughed as her team points went up.
A few games went by, Dash's team winning three out of six, and your team winning three out of six. By that time, your stomach was growling like an angry tiger. It was only 4:00pm but you didn't eat at all that day.
"Bye guys, I'm gonna go eat." Dash said, turning off her Xbox and logging off of Skype. Read my mind.
"Where to?" You put away the controller.
"Mandarin, I guess. I would like that." She picked up her jacket and slid it on, then walked over to the door, "Come on, I'm starving."
"Coming!" You walked out the door, but then remembered Rarity and your costume, "Wait, one second."
You knocked on Rarity's door, and Applejack opened it, "Howdy there! Ya lookin' fer ya costume?"
"Yes." You responded, and looked at Applejack's costume. She was wearing it to test the size, it fit her perfectly, and it was of a scarecrow. The patched overalls are something Rarity would disapprove of.
"Okay, Ah'll go get it fer ya!" She walked to Rarity's sewing machine, and picked the costume out of the basket. She returned and handed it to you, "Ah'm guessin' ya gonna screw it up later?"
"Indeed." You responded, making you both laugh. Dash coughed on purpose, "Would you like to come to dinner with Dash and I?"
"Sure! Ah'll just go change." Applejack shut the door and pulled picked up her clothes, and Dash knocked on the door, "Ah said Ah was changing'!"
"So what? We're the same gender, let me in!" Dash pushed open the door and stepped inside, getting pushed back out by Applejack.
"No. Not again, Dash." Applejack poked her head through the open part of the door, frowning at the sad Dash.
"But-" Dash pouted.
"Not. Again." Applejack said as she closed the fully.
"What does she mean not again?" You asked Dash, making her blush.
"She means nothing." She said, knocking on the door. Applejack came out in jeans and a white t-shirt. Her belt had an apple on it, matching her orange jacket's apple as it's buttons.
"Let's go." Applejack smiled, and you guys set off onto Maneroad. Bad memories...
"AJ, see that alleyway right there?" Dash pointed to the aisle where she was put when captured.
"Yeah, what about it?" AJ responded, looking into the long strip of darkness.
"I almost got murdered in there."
"WHAT?!" Applejack turned to Dash, hugging her, "Are ya alright? Anythin' hurt?!"
"Yes, just my shoulder bleeds at the slightest touch... And I'm bleeding." Dash pushed the guilty Applejack away, and pulled off her soaked bandage from under her sleeve.
"Oh my Celestia, Dash! Y'all injured!" Applejack gasped, covering her mouth.
"It doesn't hurt, AJ. I don't care..."
"Alright then, RD..."
You reached Mandarin, and waited for a table. Once you sat down, you smiled at the two girls. Dash's shoulder stopped bleeding, and AJ was constantly looking at Dash for some reason. You got up and walked to the buffet, picking up a plate and getting the food you wanted. Dash did the same, so did AJ. When you finished collecting all the food you wanted, or at least the food you could eat, you went to sit down. AJ did to, her plate filled with all kinds of stuff squished together. Dash took a little longer than you and AJ did, tasting the food before putting a giant wad of it on her plate. She eventually sat down, with most of her plate full.
"To Nightmare Night!" You raised your water glass, AJ doing the exact same thing. You clashed glasses. Dash didn't do it, because she poured her water out when she went to the bathroom, in fact, she only went to the bathroom to do that. She pulled a coke out of her pocket, you have no clue how because she looked like she had nothing in her pocket, and poured it into her glass.
"To Nightmare Night!" You repeated again, this time with Dash, "Dig in!"
And you all did so, Applejack wiping her mouth with her sleeve every once in a while. Dash didn't wipe her mouth at all. Dash finished first, since she had less on her plate. She finished up her coke and waited patiently. Then she got impatient.
"Hurry up guys." She tapped her foot as you held in a burp. Applejack didn't hold in her burp, and laughed after she let it out, "Worth waiting for."
"Ah think we can stop by a bar after this, right?" Applejack smiled, ignoring her previous burp.
"Yes, we can!" Dash smiled wider than AJ, and turned to you, "Watcha think?"
"Let's wait to get drunk at the party-" You started.
"NEIN." Dash slammed her fist onto the table, "A few drinks and..."
Dash looked over at AJ, and winked, "Some dancing."
"Not again, Dash. Ah said that at the dorms." What are they talking about?!
"Oh come on!" Dash crossed her arms and put on an angry face, "Whatever. We can still drink and dance... Maybe at the place Vinyl DJ's at!" Vinyl... Oh crap I wonder what she did to Octavia in their dorm. I wonder if Octavia's still alive.
"Fine." You were highly against it since Dash could wait until the party to get drunk, but nope. She has to go now.
"Ah'm done." AJ said, and you stood up.
"If the ladies are done, I'm done." You paid and left with the girls, to the bar/club/rapehouse that Dash wanted to go to.
You opened the door like you usually do for females, and let them walk in. Dash went straight to the bar to get drunk, and her mouth dropped when she saw people drinking in-season cider. The cider she drank before was out of season, and tasted normal. But this cider was as fresh as the apples on AJ's farm. You and AJ slowly walked over to the bar and sat down, you on the right side of AJ and Dash on the left of AJ. The bartender came around to ask for drinks.
"What would you like to-" He was interrupted by Dash.
"In-season cider, please!" Her tongue flopped out of her mouth, longing for the taste of the cider.
"Someone likes cider." You said, sticking your tongue out at Dash.
"It's squeezed from the freshest Sweet Apple Acres apples, can ya blame 'er?" Applejack smiled proudly, "My farm's apples sell the best in-season cider, even out of season cider!"
"You didn't hit me the right way to be known as a bragger, AJ." You smirked, and ordered a cider just to taste it, since Dash loves it so much.
"What's not to brag about cider?" She ordered a mug of cider, too.
"Two ciders for two lovely ladies, one cider for one gentleman." The bartender said, then retreated to the kitchen.
"Ooh. Lovely ladies." You laughed.
The bartender appeared again, with your drinks. He gave you all the cider and left, without even staying to chat. It was rather rude, but you didn't care since you only felt like talking to AJ and Dash. One of the girls squealed, it was Dash. She picked up her cider and chugged down half of it, and when her mouth relaxed away from the mug, she sighed.
"Best cider... EVER!" Dash rolled her eyes back, slouching into her chair.
"I don't know what the big deal is..." AJ and Dash gasped at you, shaking their heads.
"Just try it." AJ sipped hers and sighed in delight. You brought the mug to your mouth and carefully sipped, after that you took a bigger sip.
"Correct you are, girls! Best cider ever! I haven't tasted cider before but whatever." You sipped again, Dash drinking another quarter of the drink, "Slow down, Dash."
"No."
"Okay then."
Dash quickly finished up her drink and ordered another, Applejack and you not even finished your first. By the time Applejack and you finished, Dash was on her third. Third.
"Wow."
"She loves her cider, she's like this every October when the finest apples come out of Sweet Apple Acres and are put into this alcoholic drink." Applejack took another sip, "Ah love this cider, also."
"I second that. This cider is perfect." You turned around to face Vinyl Scratch at her turntable, who was indeed DJing. She was bobbing her head like usual, smiling with her eyes hidden behind those big sunglasses. Many people were dancing, few of them obviously drunk or smashed. You did not expect the person who was dancing to be there... Dancing. While drunk. Rarity.
"RARITY?!" You shouted. Applejack turned to look where you were looking, and did a spit take.
"What the hell?!" Applejack and you walked as calmly as possible over to Rarity, who was swinging her hips around slightly, dancing with her hands above her head, "Rarity!?"
Rarity stopped dancing instantly as she recognized the accent, and slowly turned around. Her dark blue eyes widened, and she smiled awkwardly, "Hello Applejack. What are you doing at a club?"
"Ah'm here to enjoy myself, and Ah suppose ya are too." AJ deadpanned, then broke into an awkward smile.
"Indeed I am... But I was just about to leave." Rarity was wearing a tight, black shirt that stopped an inch above her bellybutton, and a short skirt was white and covered in sparkles. Her high heels were black, and tall. Her face was red, too. She waved bye to a particular male and ran out the door with sophistication.
"Ah have somethin' on her now." AJ smirked, and chuckled. You and her returned to your seats, your eyes popping out at the fact that Dash was on her fifth mug.
AJ and you finished off your second, and you both ordered another glass, you restricting Dash from anymore drinks, "No, Dash."
"Aww." She crossed her arms as AJ finished her third, and final, mug. You only finished half, because you sipped some more and spit it back into the mug, because Dash pushed AJ onto the dance floor and they lightly danced, not at all like Rarity. You just watched Dash, smiling.
When Dash and AJ stopped dancing, it was 7:45pm. You checked your watch and got the girls, pushing them out the door.
"It's that late as to leave the club?" Dash asked, she wasn't drunk. She did sway a bit, but the cider wasn't enough. Applejack wasn't drunk either.
"Yes, 15 minutes until the party!" You walked a bit faster than normal to the college, but you got there faster so it worked.
You guys entered the college and went to your dorms, Scootaloo somehow got in the locked room, so you went to the bathroom to change. You took some fake blood that you had sitting around for some reason and rubbed it into the white, ripping it up and applying the fake blood to your face. You exited in your dead prince outfit, smiling. Scootaloo was saying her farewells to Dash, and left when Dash entered the bathroom to change into her own Daring Do costume. Dash took a shower, mostly because she couldn't take one in the morning. Because she was kidnapped. After the water turned off, she dried herself and got in her costume. When she came out, she was dressed in a puke-green vest, with a darker green around the cuffs and the collar. Her shorts were short-shorts, that were the same colour as her vest, with the folded bottom of the shorts being the dark green. The hat she was wearing was a cream, with a few green streaks. You could only muster one word, and you only dared to say so in your head. Hot.
"You like? Daring has gray hair, but I'm not dying my hair." She smiled, making you say the word again in your mind.
"Mhm." You smiled back, "Off to the party!"
You and Dash walked down the stairs, and so did Pinkie. She was wearing a pink morph suit, with the face cut out. Around her was a latex balloon, a giant one that started at her waist and went above her head. She had a string stitched onto the back of the morph suit, to look like... A string.
"What are you, Pinkie?" Dash asked, but she knew what Pinkie was.
"A balloon!" Pinkie gasped, "In my balloon, there's an echo! It's so... Echo-y!" Next Chapter: Spotlights Are Meant To Shine Estimated time remaining: 2 Hours, 10 Minutes
