""Vivillon's Gust isn't the only thing we have to deal with. There's Surskit's Ice Beam and Sticky Web too. How are we gonna do it?" Ash thought to himself.

"Ash?" Serena grabbed his attention then handed him a cloth. "Here, use this."

"Thanks," Ash grabbed it.

"Here we go," Serena said to herself. "Ash, do you...remember me? Think back to when you to camp in Pallet Town. I did too! That's where we met."

"At camp?"

"That's right we met at Professor Oak's Pokémon Summer Camp!"

"Hey, I remember that camp!"

"You really do?"

"Of course, I want to it!"

"I know, and that's because I went to that camp as well!"

"Can't say I remember you."

"Oh, no!"

"Well didn't go quite as planned," Rarity said upon Seren's disappointment.

"That's okay, Rarity!" Serena said to her. "For Ash needs to concentrate on his training!"

"I've gotta say, Pokémon battles are amazing!" Rarity exclaimed. "Especially if person!"

"You saw mine?" Ash asked her. "Then you know what a total rotten mess I made of it."

"A mess?" Applejack came in. "I don't think so! You were awesome! In fact, I remember what you said: You never give up until the end! You're obviously not giving up!"

"I haven't changed have I!" Ash hears Applejack out then started to laugh. "I'm giving up. that wouldn't be me at all. Thanks, you three are a big help!"

"Alexa, can we have another battle, please?"

"Okay!" Alexa agreed.

"It's not like me to get all down myself," Ash stated. "I can fix this by not giving up!"

"Ready to go?" Alexa asked as Noivern was on ground level and Pikachu and Fletchling got in their battle stance. "Noivern use Gust!"

Noivern whipped up a gust of wind at Pikachu and Fletchling who both braced it.

"Stay strong, don't give up! Get your footing, Pikachu! And Flecthling, keep your balance!

Pikachu planted his tail on the ground.

"All right!" Twilight exclaimed. "Pikachu's using its tail!"

"Great! In that position, Pikachu should be able to keep its footing." Jaden explained.

Then Fletchling spread its wings!

"Wow, look at that!" Fluttershy was amazed by Fletchling." Fletchling's flying lots better now, too!"

"How is that possible?" Bonnie asked.

"It's adjusting the angle of its tail feathers to the airflow around it!" Clemont explained.

"Now Pikachu, use Thunderbolt! Fletchling, Razor Wind!"

Pikachu sends a long electric blast, while Fletchling sends blades of winds!

"Noivern, dodge it!"

Noivern flew up and avoided the attacks.

"Awesome! Looking good you two!"

"Looks like you're getting the hang of it. But I'm not finished yet! Use Gust, again!"

Hours of training later...

"Wow, Alexa," Ash said while his Pokémon were exhausted. "That was some really helpful training! Thank you for everything."

"Save your thanks until after you defeat my sister and win your first Kalos Gym badge." Alexa reminded him.

"Right! I'll do my best!"

In the Pokémon Center.

"We've got a good defense against Gust now!" Ash said.

"So that means, uh... now you just need to be figured out the ice battlefield, Sticky Web and Psychic!" Bonnie brought it up.

"I've already figured out how to deal with ice battlefield," Ash told her.

"Yeah what're you gonna do?"

"You'll find out during the battle."

"That's no fun!" Bonnie pouted then ate a slice of cake.

"Of course keeping the plans in the dark," Twilight smiled. "Classic Ash."

"Well as far as handling Sticky Web, you just leave that me," Clemont said.

"Yes, all right," Ash agreed. "Pikachu and Fletchling, it's back to training we eat!"

The Pokémon cheered happily as faces were stuffed.

Later that night.,,

"Allow me to help you with your training using the best of my scientific skills," Clemont explained. "Remember, the future is now thanks to science and the power of technology!"

"Clemontic Gear, on!" Clemont pulls on a white sheet revealing another machine. "I invented this device in anticipation of the very situation Ash is now in. I call it the Sticky Web Sticky-Wicket Wacker Wonk!"

"Huh?" Serena, Rarity, Bonnie, and Applejack were confused.

"Science is so amazing!" Ash exclaimed.

"I've analyzed Sticky Web's composition at the DNA level, and this device is able to replicate its stickiness, color, aroma, and nutritional value to a tee. I'm sure patent approval is right around the corner."

"Well, I really don't know what you're talking about, but thanks, Clemont!"

"So let's get started! Lock-on target and... fire!"

The machine started firing the Sticky Web!

"Dodge it!"

Pikachu jumped and Fletchling flew, then Pikachu touched it and got stuck!

"He's right, it's the same as Sticky Web!" Jaden explained.

"This is what I call training with science! Keep it up!"

It still kept firing but Pikachu and Flecthling were still dodging.

"Hey, you're both looking great!"

"Not bad, but you haven't experienced my device at full power! Maximum level and fire!"

Clemont pulled the level but the machine fired up and the Sticky Web covered the cannon then explode.

"My hair it's ruined!" Rarity said.

"Should've seen that coming," Twilight said.

"Why, why?" Clemont said with defeat.

"I've got a better idea," Ash suggested. "All right, Froakie, I choose you!"

Froakie appeared.

"If you attack us with your Frubbles, it'll be like getinng attacked with Sticky Web!" Ash explained.

Froakie throw his Frubbles at them

"Quick you guys dodged it!"

Pikachu and Fletchling dodged the Frubbles!

"Wow, what a clever way to use Frubbles," Clemont said.

"Yeah, keep it up!" Bonnie cheered.

"Now concentrate and speed up!"

Froakie throw his Frubbles faster and faster and Pikachu and Fletchling kept dodging!

"Show me that spirit!"

"I didn't know Ash had a Froakie too!" Applejack said shockingly.

"That Froakie's from Professor Sycamore's research lab," Fluttershy said.

"Just like my Fennekin!" Serena exclaimed.

"I think we're gonna be just fine! So, let's call it a day!" Ash said putting a halt on training.

"Go team, go," Bonnie started to feel sluggish. "I know you can do it, you're awesome."

"Bonnie, I think it's bedtime," Clemont suggested.

"You were great,"

"Yeah, weren't they? Let's go!" Clemont grabbed her younger sister's hand. "I'm going to tuck Bonnie into bed."

"Right, thanks for staying up so late and helping me out," Ash thanked him.

"Well, we all worked on everything we could," Ash talked to his Pokémon. "All that's left is to battle Viola as hard we can. So let's give it all we've got!"

"It's amazing how hard trainers and their Pokémon work! It takes an awful lot of time and effort to earn yourself a gym badge, doesn't it?" Serena exclaimed.

"You'll be training like this in no time!" Ash explained. "Soon you're gonna hit the road and some more Pokémon, so you can challenge the Pokémon Gyms, right?"

"I guess so," Serena said softly. "I know I have Fennekin, but I'm not sure what my next step will be."

"Gotcha," Ash understand. "So take your time and you'll know what to do."

"I will thank you," Serena said.

The following morning at the Santalune Gym.

The gym battle rematch between Ash, the challenger, and Gym Leader Viola will begin

Each side will have two Pokémon whichever side eliminates the other's Pokémon will be the winner!

Only the challenger will be allowed to substitute.

Just as the match was about to get underway the trainer from before had just walked in.

"Hey guys," The trainer said. "Did I miss anything?"

"Nope," Jaden said. "It just got started. What's brings you here?"

"Not much, Viola said that she was going to have a rematch with a trainer who she beat," She responded. "Is that him?"

"Yeah, his name is Ash," Jaden said. "What's your name?"

"Sunset Shimmer," saying her name. "What are your names?"

"My name is Jaden."

"Twilight Sparkle,"

"Fluttershy,"

"I'm Bonnie and this is Dedenne."

"I'm Clemont,"

"Serena,"

"Applejack,"

"Rarity, It a pleased to have you here."

"Thanks," Sunset said. "I hope this battle will awesome,"

On the battlefield...

"So Ash, my sister tells me you were training hard yesterday," Viola said. "I'm looking forward to this!"

"Yeah, me too," Ash shot back. "Cause this time I'm gonna win a badge!"

"My lens is still focused on victory and nothing will ruin this shot!" Viola declared. "Gom Surskit!"

Surskit appeared.

"Time to even the score, right, Pikachu?" Ash asked his buddy.

"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu ran on the battlefield.

Battle begin!

Ash vs Viola 2v2 Elimation Battle

Surskit started to move side to side.

"They waiting to see Surksit's first move." Alexa pointed.

"You can't take a picture without a shutter, and can't win a battle without attacking! All right, Surskit, use Sticky Web!"

"Dodge it!"

Surskit weaves a lot of sticky web at Pikachu who quickly dodge at high speed!

"Wow, that's fast!" Serena said.

"All that training's paying off!" Rarity added.

"Now use Thunderbolt!"

"Protect!"

Pikachu fired a strong blast of electricity at Surskit but Surskit created a shield blocking the Thunderbolt!

"Now, Signal Beam!"

Surskit fired a sister beam of light at Pikachu!

"Dodge, Iron Tail!"

Pikachu dodged the Signal Beam and slammed Surskit with Iron Tail!

"Yeehaw!" Applejack exclaimed. "Direct hit!"

"Despite not being effective," Twilight came in. "but considering how Pikachu wasn't able to land an attack at all last time it was a meaningful hit!"

"Now let's refocus this battle! Time to use Ice Beam and create an ice battlefield!"

"Don't let it use Ice Beam!"

Surskit tried to use Ice Beam but Pikachu got on top of it!

"Stay on it use Thunderbolt!"

"Shake it loose and use Ice Beam!"

Surksit shook Pikachu off and fired Ice Beam on the battlefield turning it into an ice battlefield.

"Another picture-perfect ice battlefield! Skate Surskit!"

Surskit skated around Pikachu who could move at all.

"It's just like last time!" Fluttershy being concern

"True," Jaden agreed. "But this Ash has got something for it!"

"Can you get up, Pikachu?!"

"This ice battlefield is my studio! I'm a photographer and I call the shots! Surskit, Signal Beam!"

Surskit fired a sister beam of light at the immobilized Pikachu!

"Now Pikachu,"

Pikachu planted his tail on the ice! Everyone was surprised!

"I knew!" Twilight exclaimed then everyone turned to her. "That was Ash was not going to tell us! How he going deal was with the ice battlefield!"

"Way to go! Use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu fired a blast of massive electricity to counter the Surskit's Signal Beam but the Thunderbolt overpowered and scored a direct hit! Surskit was dazed!"

Surskit cannot battle! Pikachu wins! Score 1-0 Ash

"We did it, buddy!"

"Pika!"

"Yay!" The girls and Dedene cheered.

"Who knew Pikachu would planet its tail to stay balanced?" Sunset wondered.

"That's Ash for you," Twilight explained. "Having flair for the dramatic!"

"Surskit you were excellent, now take a good rest!"

"Pikachu, time for you to take a breather!"

Pikachu came back to Ash's side!

"What-- You're done battling with Pikachu!?"

"Fletchling wants a chance for a rematch against Vivillon, too!"

"Fletcling, I choose you!"

Fletchling appeared and chipped happily.

"Picture-perfect! Let's do this Vivillon!"

Vivillon appeared all well!

"Now, without that Sticky Web," Rarity worried. "Then will be fine!"

"Yeah," Jaden said. "But remember Gym Leaders will have always have Plan B! And if know Ash well he won't lose twice!"

"Now Fletchling, Steel Wing, let's go!"

Both flying Pokémon chased each other through the sky, The Tiny Robin Pokémon prepared to strike with its hard steel wings!

"Use Psychic!"

Vivillon created a telekinetic force and stopped Fletchling its track and slam it to the ground!

"Be strong! Now get up!"

Fletchling got up!

"Awesome, Steel Wing one more time!"

Fletchling used Steel Wing again but this time it landed a successful hit on Vivillon!

"Way to go, now peck!"

"Dodge it!"

Fletching came closing in but Vivillon turned making it missed.

"All right, Gust!"

Vivillon unveils a massive wind that knockoff Fletchling off course!'

"Rember our training!"

"Pika!"

Fletchling responded and rode the Gust!

"Great, ride it!" Clemont shouted.

"Now use Razor Wind!"

Fletchling spin and Razor Wind!"

"Sleep Powder!"

Vivillon scatters a big cloud of sleep-inducing dust but it is hit by one of the Razor Winds but Fletchling got a dose of the Sleep Powder!

"Fletchling, no!"

"I knew it," Jaden said. "That's Viola's Plan B! Having Vivillon learned to use Sleep Powder!"

"Nice, use Solar Beam!"

Vivillon fired a beam of pure light at Fletchling making it dazed!

Fletchling cannot battle! Vivillon wins! Score 1-1!

"Aww, poor Flecthling!" Bonnie was despreesed.

"No way, that Viola was going to make that easy for Ash!" Sunset pointed.

"That's okay!" Twilight reassured her. "We believe in Ash!"

Ash returned Fletchling to its Pokéball!

"You did great, now take lots of rest! Alright Pikachu, I need to get back out there!"

"Now, use Gust!"

Pikachu planted its tail and braced the Gust!

"Hang tough, Pikachu!"

"Pikachu must still the effects of the battle with Sursikt!" Fluttershy exclaimed. "If Viola plans to drag this battle out, this could spell trouble for Ash!"

"Pikachu can't beat my Vivillon in that state! I'm afraid you're going lose this time again!"

"Yeah, well there's no way we're giving up! That's not what we're about! We'll keep battling to the very end!"

"I admire your persistence! But this is the end! Gust again!"

"Pikachu, Iron Tail!"

Pikachu uses Iron Tail and bread Gust!

"Another great way to stay put!" Clemont said.

"That's really cool," Applejack said.

"Clever! But you made it easy for me to focus! Solar Beam!"

Vivillon fried Solar Beam at Pikachu!

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu counted with Thunderbolt and clashed with Solar Beam, canceling each other out!

"Use Sleep Powder!"

Vivillon uses Sleep Powder and Pikachu caught a dose of it!

"Here we are! It's my chance to take a great picture!

"You've got to hang in there!" Rarity cheered them on!

"Let's wrap this up! Solar Beam!"

"Pikachu, wake up!"

"Remember your training from yesterday!" Applejack shouted then Ash gasped.

"Pikachu! Use Electro Ball on yourself!"

Pikachu fired the Electro Ball in the air! Then it came down at it, as the smoke cleared, Pikachu survive the Sleep Powder!

"All right!" The girls cheered.

"It neutralized the Sleep Powder with Eletric-type Move on itself!" Clemont explained.

"I'll say it again, Classic Ash," Twilight said.

"Solar Beam!"

"We're all with you, so put everything you got into this move! Electro Ball!"

Both the Solar Beam and the Electro Ball clahed but Electro Ball pushed through and score a hit on Vivillon! It's left wing was covered in ice!"

"No! How can this be?"

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu used Thunderbolt and hit on the Scale Pokémon causing it to fall down hard showing it's dazed eyes!

Vivillon cannot battle! Pikachu wins and with score 1-2 Ash is the winner!

"All right!" Ash exclaimed as Pikachu jump to his shoulder. "We did it!"

"That was amazing!" Sunset said.

"My word, you were just fabluos!" Rarity exclaimed.

"Hey thanks and couldn't have it without help from you guys," Ash said.

"Ash, I had nothing to do with your and you know it," Clemont said.

"Nah, your invention gave me idea." Ash said.

"Huh?" Clemont asked.

"You mean my invention's failure gave you the idea of Pikachu using Eletrco Ball on itself?"

"Yup, and that's why this victory doesn't just belong to me! It's belong to all of us!"

"Thank you, for great battle." Viola thanked her Pokémon.

"What did I tell you?" Alexa asked.

"Yeah, you knew it all along!" Viola shot back, "Ash?"

"Hey Viola?" Ash saw her walk up.

"Congrats," Viola said. "This is to prove you won gym battle against me! The Bug Badge!"

The referee handed Ash a badge that looked like a ladybug with green spots on the back.

"Thanks so much!" Ash thanked her as his grabs it. "All right I just got the Bug Badge!"

Ash put his newly acquired badge his case.

Outside the gym

"There are some things you can only see when looking a camera's viewfinder," Viola said.
"And things you'll only see clearly by living with Pokémon. Keep strenghing the you share with your Pokémon, and good luck!"

"Thanks!"

"Okay Jaden where next Gym?" Ash asked him.

"How about the Cyllage City Gym?"

"Cyllage City Gym? That's sounds great!"

"Okay, then we going to head out," Clemont said.

"Thanks again!"

"Bye-bye!"

"Later," as our friends said their goodbyes.

"So Serena, Rarity, Applejack, Sunset, where are you guys headed off from?" Ash asked them all.

"Us?" All replied.
