"My word, it is a fine morning," Rarity happily said.

"I know, no early Rhyhorn Race practice for me, and no Fletching waking me up," Serena replied. "Such a relaxing way to start the day."

Serena started to stretch and Fennekin did the same which stumble a bit.

"Fennekin did you get enough?" Serena asked the Fox Pokémon.

"Fennekin!"

"I did, too!" Serena responded.

"Well, we best get a move on," Applejack said,

"Good idea," Serena agreed.

The ladies grabbed belongings and said their goodbyes and exited out of the Pokémon Center and into the forest.

"How long til get to Santalune City?" Rarity asked.

"Not far," Serena answered her. "In fact, it's really close just a bit further and I'll finally get to see him!"

"Who's him?" Rarity asked.

"That Ash fellow," Applejack implied.

"Wow, you took all of these pictures, Viola?" Ash asked.

"Uh-huh, although. these are just a few of the pictures I've taken," Viola replied.

"She's quite a talent for photographing Bug types!" Alexa exclaimed. "She even helps me out with my reporting from time to time."

"This is great work!" Fluttershy exclaimed. "It really captures the love you have for your subjects!"

"Sure does," Bonnie chimed. "You can see how much you care about Bug Types!"

"So, shall we Ash?" Viola asked. "How about that battle?"

"Great!" Ash agreed.

Meanwhile. Serena, Rarity, and Applejack have made it to Santalune City.

"Just think," Serena told them. "He's gonna be so surprised after this time!"

"Make me wonder how he'll react when he sees you?" Applejack asked.

"Well, I for one can't wait to find out," Rarity said.

Heading back to Santalune Gym Both Ash and Viola were standing on opposite sides of the battlefield. With Clemont, Bonnie,, Jaden, Twilight, Fluttershy, and Alexa were in the peanut gallery.

The Gym Battle between Ash, the challenger, and Viola, the Santalune Gym, will now begin! This will be a 2 on 2 elimination series and the battle will be over when either Trainer's Pokémon cannot battle! Only the challenger may substitute Pokémon!

"My lens is always focused on victory no matter what!" Viola said. "Surskit, go!"

Surskit appeared out ready to battle.

"A Surskit, huh?" Ash said as he took out his Pokédex and scanned it.

Surskit, The Pond Skater Pokémon. Surskit can walk on water as if was skating. It attracts prey with the sweet aroma it produces.

"My first Kalos Gym Battle! And I'm gonna start it off with Pikachu!" Ash exclaimed.

"Pika,"

"No, surprise that he'll Pikachu to kick things off," Twilight said.

"Especially, since Pikachu has a huge advantage over Surskit, who's a Bug and Water-types," Clemont explained.

Now Battle Begin!

Ash vs Viola 2v2 Elimation Battle

"Pikachu let's start this with Quick Attack!"

Pikachu lunges at Surskit with serious speed!

"Quick, use Protect!"

Surskit used Protect and stop Pikachu's Quick Attack!

"Go around Surskit and use Iron Tail!"

"Surskit, dodge it!'

Pikachu went around Surskit and use Iron Tail but it was missed as Surskit skated from the attack!

"Focus, Pikachu. Use Electro Ball and stop it!"

Pikachu jumped up and hurled an electric ball at Surksit!

"Surskit, use Ice Beam!"

Surskit fired Ice Beam to null the Electro Ball.

"My sister's very strong," Alexa explained. "Defeating her is no easy task!"

"This is where it begins, use Ice Beam on the field!"

Surskit uses Ice Beam on the battlefield making it look like an Ice rink!

"Sweet Celestia," Twilight was shocked. "The battlefield is frozen!"

"Our ice battlefield's picture-perfect. Surksit, let's go!"

"Hang in there, use Iron Tail."

Surskit came in close allowing Pikachu to deliver a vicious Iron Tail that knock Surskit off balance!

"Pull it together, and Ice Beam!"

"Now Pikachu, Use Thunderbolt!"

Both the Thunderbolt and Ice Beam clashed but it overpower and send the Electic Mouse to the ground!

"Yes! Now use Signal Beam"

Surskit fired a flashing light at Pikachu who couldn't dodge it. As the smoke clears, Pikachu had swirled eyes.

Pikachu cannot battle! Surskit is the winner!

"You did your best buddy, that's all I could ask for!"

"Your Pikachu is well trained but it had long before it can beat Surskit."

"I'll beat it now, will this Pokémon! Flecthling, let's go!"

"Fletchling!"

"Nice choice," Jaden said. "Since it can fly the frozen ground won't do a thing! And Flying-type Pokémon are super effective against Bug-types!"

Then the door opened up and revealed to be Serena, Rarity, and Applejack.

"Can I help you?" Alexa asked the trio.

"We were wondering if it would be okay if we watched them battle?" Applejack asked.

"Of course, that would be just fine, welcome," Alexa said.

"Why don't you join us over here?" Clemont suggested.

"Yeah, it's getting really good!" Bonnie said.

"That's so nice of you, thanks!" Rarity thanked them.

Back to the battle..,

"Okay Fletchling, Peck, let's go!"

"Quick, dodge!"

Flecthling came down really fast and used Peck, but Surskit dodged it.

"Now Ice Beam,"

Surskit fired an icy-cold beam of energy at the Tiny Robin Pokémon.

"Dodge it,"

Fletchling avoided it with it awesome flying.

"Awesome," As Serena and Rarity were shocked.

"Sticky Web, go!"

"Use Double Team!"

Flecthling creates illusory copies of itself and Surskit weaves a sticky net and fired but it only hit the copies!

"It dodged them all," Applejack exclaimed.

"All right, attack!" Bonnie cheered.

"Now Fletchling use Razor Wind!"

Fletchling unveil blades of wind which made direct contact at Surskit who was dazed in the aftermath.

Surskit cannot battle. Fletchhling wins!

"All right!" Ash shouted, Clemont and Twilight jumped, Serena and Bonnie high-five Jaden and Rarity, Fluttershy took a breath of relief and Applejack smiled.

Did you see how totally awesome Ash battles?!" Bonnie asked both Serena and Rarity.

"Sure did," Both replied.

"Now the score is one-all," Twilight exclaimed.

"Ash just might win this!" Fluttershy said.

Viola returned Surskit to its Pokéball.

"You did great,"

"Time beat you other Pokémon! And get my hands on my first Kalos Gym Badge!"

"I'm not going to make it that easy! My Gym Leader pride is on the line! Let's do this Vivillon!"

Vivillon appeared making Ash surprised.

"Who that's Pokémon?" Ash pulls out his Pokédex.

Vivillon, The Scale Pokémon. Vivillon is skillfully able to find a source of water. It has been said that you'll find a spring if you follow a Vivillon.

"All right Fletchling, Peck!"

Fletchling came down and glowed its beak!

"Vivillion, use Psychic!"

The Scale Pokémon created a strong telekinetic force stoping Fletchling in its tracks!

"Since I made, an Ice battlefield, I want you to experience what's it all about!"

Fletchling got slammed to the icy ground. But it was okay as Fletchling was flapping its wings.

"All right!"

"Use Gust!"

Vivillon created a gust of wind that knocked Fletchling off balance and into the Sticky Web that Surksit made!

"It's stuck in that Sticky Web!" Twilight exclaimed.

"Oh snap," Jaden said.

"Break free! You can do it, Flecthling!"

Fletchling struggled to get free!

"A picture-perfect opportunity! Vivillon, Solar Beam!"

Vivillon gathers light, then blasts a bundled beam at Fletchling! Fletchling fell down being knocked out!

Fletchling cannot battle. With a score of 2-1 Viola, the Gym Leader wins!

"Thank you, Vivillon," Viola returned it to its Pokéball.

"Fletchling are you okay?" Ash asked.

"Ling," The Flying-type responded weakly.

"Ash!" As everyone expect Serena, Rarity and Applejack went down to the battlefield with Fluttershy holding Pikachu in her arms.

"We need to get them both, to the Pokémon Center," Fluttershy said. "That battle put them through a lot!"

"I know I lost," Ash said. "But I'll come back here stronger! When I do, I hope you'll let me have a rematch."

"I'll look forward to it!" Viola nodded. "Come back anytime!"

"Let's go!" Ash said as the others run to the Pokémon Center passing Serena, Applejack, and Rarity.

"Is that,,," Applejack said as she saw Ash's bag.

At the Pokémon Center.

"Nurse Joy, Nurse Redheart," Ash requested. "Please take care of my Pokémon!"

Wigglytuff carried both Pikachu and Fletchling on the cart and into the Infirmary room.

"Don't worry, Ash," Nurse Joy reassured him.

"They'll be all better in no time," Nurse Redheart said.

Meanwhile behind the Pokémon Center.

"Here you guys," Jaden said as he handed out Pokémon food to the Pokémon. "Eat up!"

The Pokémon cheered happily as they ate,

"Wow, I have never seen so many appetites," Twilight exclaimed,

"They must have been really hungry!" Clemont added then looked at Ash who looked on the ground.

"Viola totally beat me! Man is she strong!" Ash thought to himself then clenched his fist. "Pikachu and Fletchling weren't able to show their strengths at all. If 's that way it gotta be I can't win, no matter how many times I try. What do I do?!"

"Uh, excuse me," Applejack's made Ash snap out his thought. "I think this is yours."

"Guess I forgot it," Ash realized that left his bag.

"Wow, you're those girls from before!" Bonnie exclaimed.

"They were was standing with us during your battle," Jaden said.

"My name's Bonnie, and this big brother!"

"I'm Clemont,"

"Fluttershy,"

"Twilight Sparkle,"

"Jaden,"

"And say hello to Dedenne."

"It's nice to meet all of you!"

"Well, what do you know," Ash said being somewhat clueless. "Sorry I was so busy battling, I didn't see you three."

"Oh, that's okay," Serena was not bothered with it.

"My name is Ash!"

"Yeah, I know. Serena's my name."

"I'm Rarity,"

"Applejack,"

Then the Pokémon Center started to chime.

"Thank you," Nurse Redheart bow down.

"Your Pikachu and Fletchling are now fully recovered and feeling fine!" Nurse Joy said showing that Pikachu and Fletchling were feeling a lot better.

"Ling!" Fletchling flapped its wings.

"Pika!" Pikachu climbed to the top of Ash's head.

"That's great," Ash was pleased. "Thank you, Nurse Joy, Nurse Redheart!

"It's our pleasure!" Both said happily.

"Wigglytuff!"

"Guys, this Serena, Rarity, and Applejack," Ash introduced them to his Pokémon. "They were with Clemont and the others watching us battle."

"Hi, you two, nice to meet you," Serena greeted.

"The pleasure all yours," Rarity replied.

"Howdy," Applejack said.

"I just wondered something didn't we just see you two on Route 4?" Serena thought.

"Allowing me," Jaden said as pulled up a picture. "These are all the Nurse Joys and Nurse Redhearts throughout the Kalos Region!"

"Incredible!" Rarity exclaimed. "Oh right, I was hoping you'll look at our Pokémon, too."

Serena called out Fennekin, Rarity called Chimchar, and Applejack called out Treecko.

"Fennekin!"

"Chimchar!"

"Tree,"

"Wow, a Treecko, and Chimchar, but I have never seen that Pokémon," Twilight said see pulls Pokédex.

Fennekin, The Fox Pokémon. Fennekin expels hot air that can reach nearly 400 degrees, It likes to snack on twigs.

"So that means it's a Fire-Type Pokémon," Twilight asked.

"And so cute," Bonnie said.

"Yeah, I got it from Professor Sycamore."

"Professor Sycamore huh?" Ash asked.

"You see," Clemont explained. "Fennekin is one of three Pokémon that new Trainers may choose from. Therefore, I can deduce that you and others are new Trainers!"

"Right!" All three of them agree.

"We'll be glad to look at them," Nurse Redheart said. "Please wait right here as run a thorough exam."

"Thanks," All thanked them as Alexa walked in.

"It looks like Pikachu and Fletchling are fully recovered," Alexa said. "Let me guess: you're going to start training right away!"

"Of course I am," Ash declared. "You wanna help me out?"

Later both Alexa and Ash were on the opposite sides of the battlefield.

'You see, Noivern can use Gust too!" Alexa said. "Noivern, let's go!"

Then Noivern appeared and took flight.

"One of our problems with Viola was we could get past Vivillon's Gust," Ash said to his Pokémon. "So let's try to keep our balance!"

"Heads up you two!"

Both Pikachu and Fletchling nodded.

"Go ahead Alexa," Ash gave her the okay.

"Noivern, use Gust!"

Noivern, whipped a gust of wind making Pikachu and Fletchling braced for it but they lost their ground and got swept away, but Ash managed to catch them.

"Are you two okay?" Ash asked which returned the Pokémon nodded.

"I'm here for you too, so don't worry and focus on training!"

"Have it used Gust again, please?"

"All right, but get ready, Use Gust one more time!"

Noivern one again use Gust!

"We've gotta be able to deal with Gust!" Ash thought to himself.

"Just hang in there," Twilight said.

"I know you can do it!" Bonnie yelled.

But both Pikachu and Fletchling were caught by Ash again.

"Vivillon's Gust isn't the only thing we have to deal with. There's Surskit's Ice Beam and Sticky Web too. How are we gonna do it?

Back at the Satnalune Gym, Viola has lost a battle to a trainer. The trainer had a golden skin, aquamarine eyes, and red-and-yellow hair. She wore an orange shirt with a red-and-yellow sun symbol, a black vest with spikes around the neck area, a purple zip-up skirt, and a pair of black studded shoes. Her Pokémon was Riolu, Eevee, and Quilava. She put the badge in her case showing all eight of them.

"Here you go miss," Viola said as she hand a badge. "Proof of beating the Satnalune Gym. The Bug Badge."

"Thanks," The trainer replied. "It was a blast."

"Oh by way, if you have the chance you should stick around for my rematch against a trainer who was first to challenge me," Viola requested.

"Sure," The trainer said. "What's his name?"

"His name is Ash," Viola said.
