Ch.7 I give the girls a talking to and get a job

Twilight studies Marvil the whole time he eats. He eats like a pony that hasn't eaten in days, eating more than all the other mares combined. She waited patiently for him to finish his meal. He seemed like a nice stallion that would answer all of her questions, and boy she had some questions. How had he gotten here? Did he only stand on two legs?, What did his diet consist of?. Those were just the few questions that she wanted to ask him.

At first, she was just as scared as the other girls when they found him, a huge sword lying next to him and covered in blood. He still saved you so couldn't leave him to die, so you and the girls carried him to the hospital and she sent a letter to Celestia. You wanted to ask your questions to the creature but he just asked everyone's name and passed out. Then when you went home you got a letter from your teacher saying that Marvil wouldn't hurt anypony and he was going to live in ponyville.

When you went to the hospital he scared the daylights out of you. He was a lot bigger standing and had that big sword on his back. But you couldn't of been more wrong about him. Already you and the girls thought of him as a friend already. He even asked you to teach him to read and write.

When everypony was finished Rainbow Dash reached into her saddlebags to pay for the lunch you all find out that Marvil paid for it. He had used a lot of the only money that he had to buy you and everypony else lunch? Who does that! He is even good at making all of you blush and had no problem flirting with you all even though all of you were a different species than him. He seemed like a po...- whatever he was that laughed and grinned easily.

"Darlin' if ya don’t mind me askin how did cha get all them scars?"  Applejack asked, cutting the silence. Twilight got out her notebook; her friend could ask her questions for her.

“Well AJ, I was a soldier where I came from; I like to think a good one." “Where was that?" Marvil smiled at them all then sighed “I came from a place called Greece a place that has been in almost constant warfare for a very long time." Everyone gasped. In Equestria, a land that hasn't seen war for a thousand years, almost constant war was almost too much to comprehend." Have you k-killed anypony Mr. Marvil.......you don't have to answer if you don't want to." Fluttershy asked the question, barely above a whisper. Marvil sighed," It’s "anybody" Fluttershy and yes, more people than I can count." That raised another collective of gasp from the mares.

Marvil looked very sad when he said it, getting a far off look, like he was recounting something. “That’s how I got to this world, I was in a huge battle and I had some of my best friends were killed before my eyes." He laughed bitterly" All of my kin are dead, my wife and sons are buried, and now them. I'm truly alone in this and every other world, I am alone, ya know if they hadn't had all of my tears beaten out of me during my training I would cry right now.

Every one of them was crying except Marvil. Twilight could see the pain in his eyes, and it broke all six of the mare’s hearts. The pain was gone the instant he saw them crying. He got up and wrapped his arms around them all." Thank you girls" He said sadly "for crying when I could not." He held on to all of them, giving comforting words to each of them.

When they finished crying Marvil was back to his old self, joy to his eyes and a smile to his face. “You haven't asked a question yet Twilight, go ahead. Now she didn't want to ask him anything! So she asked him a safe question." Marvil what does your diet consist of?" He laughed." I eat plants, some of the ones that you eat, but I also eat meat." He looked at Rainbow," Your turn Miss Dash." she blushed and he laughed again. Rainbow composed herself and said," How old are you?" "25 or close enough" He then turned to Pinkie “Pinkie?" She looked at him" Have you ever had a cupcake?" Marvil looked confused." What’s a cupcake?" Pinkie gasped and ran back into sugarcube corner and came out with one on a plate." This is a cupcake!" she proudly exclaimed. Marvil looked at it, picked it up and took a bite. His eyes light up." Pinkie, this is the best thing I've ever tasted!"

Everyone laughed, happy that the sadness was in the past. Marvil looked at all of them and said;" Now girls, I have a question for you." They all looked at him. “What is it, Darlin how can we help you?" Rarity told him. “Well I need a job and I was wondering if you know who would want to hire a 5'8 monster?" He laughed at his own joke. Applejack had the answer." I can give ya a job at the farm, Big Mac keeps sayin' that we need ta get more hired help." Marvil's eyes light up," That would be great AJ thank you, I'll accept your job offer." Good, come ta the farm tomorrow before sun up." Applejack said, happy that she could help her new friend out.

They talked late into the day, Marvil learning about the mares and they him. When they were all leaving with Marvil following Twilight to her house. “So you have an assistant named Spike who is a dragon?" Marvel asked. “Does he know I'm sleeping over tonight? I don't want to be light on fire." Twilight chuckled. “Yes he knows so he wouldn't light you on fire."

“Are you sure?"

"Yes I'm sure."

When they got to house Marvil had to duck under the door so he wouldn't hit his head. Twilight gave him a pillow and a blanket. “Marvil, you could sleep on-” She turned and saw him on the floor curled up in the blanket with his head on his pillow, quietly snoring. The sight brought a smile to her face. “Goodnight Marvil." She turned off the lights and walked up to her room and fell asleep to. It had been a really long day.....
