Ch.16 Realization

Summer turned into fall and I got ready for my run like everyday. I had found this great scenic route through one of the ponies friendly forest. So I was streching and had my boots off and started off on my usual run through the forest. Usually only 1 or 2 ponies were on the trail but today there were loads of ponies out today running. In fact there were so many they were knocking the leaves off the trees.Grinning, figuring that beating all of the ponies would be a better run I picked up my speed.

The first pony thay I passed was Twilight. " HI TWI!" I screamed as I ran past, startling her. My limbs started to hurt but I ignored it was I passed the main group of ponies, " Ladys and gentlecolts." I said as I passed them. I was getting pretty winded by now but I saw that there were 2 ponies still out in front. I put the after burners on and slowly gained on the ponies. I got close enough got see that the ponies in front of me were Dash and AJ.Grinning. I was just behind the girls, determined to pass them.

They must of sensed that someone was just behind them because they both increased their speeds. Putting even more into it I got neck and neck to the girls and soon passed them and widened the distance. I cleared the forest and there were a huge group of ponies and a finish line. I passed the finish line with the Rainbow and Applejack not far behind. I had my hands on my knees panting. A pony came over and handed me a trophy. " Congradulations Marvil!" I said, confused. " What did I win? I just thought the other ponies were running to get in shape."

Every pony looked at me like I was nuts. Rainbow walked up to me still panting, " Marvil, you never heard of the Running of the Leaves? What a minute, when did you start to run?" " About 10:10 why?" Rainbow walked away, muttering under her breath. " Whats wrong with her?" I asked Applejack. She shook her head, amazed. " Sugarcube, you ran 10 minutes after us and still beat all of us." I looked around at all of the ponies, they were looking like I was a god. Even though I was covered in sweat and tired I fell over laughing......

A few days later........

" Marvil, you didn't have to come with us." Twilight told me as we walked into the Everfree forest. I laughed " Girls, no offence, but trouble follows you like a stray dog. " All six girls and me were in the Everfree forest because Twilight had reported a large magical energy somewhere and we were investigating it. " Nonsense, Twilight! Marvil is being a gentlecolt, protecting 6 ladies in the dangerous forest. We should be thanking him!" I rolled my eyes at Rainbow, who giggled.

Rainbow had forgiven me for winning on the race and she insisted that I give her some Reasuian training. We all saw a flash of light. " Hey look!" Pinkie shouted, hopping in the direction of the light. Me and the other girls followed. We were so focused on the light we didn't see the forest shift and change, as if some magical force wanted us lost.....

" What h-happened to the light?" Fluttershy asked, shaking. " No problem girls" I said :"The trail is just.... " I saw that we were in the middle of the forest. I drew SunSetter and looked around. " Girls stay close to me. We're not alone." All of the other huddled around me, looking terrified.I tried to keep everypony calm. " Twl, can you sense if there is a magic coming form around us?" Her horn glowed, she shook her head, a disbelieving tone in her voice. " T-Thats not p-possible? There is magic all around us, as far as I can sense."  " W-why is it getting so c-cold?" Fluttershy shummered. " O-Or d-dark?" Rarity looked like she was about to pass out.

All of the girls had gotten as close to me as they could. We heard a dark chuckle. I looked around, I couldn't see anything in this damn dark! " Show yourself coward!" The laughing stopped. " Is that a greek I hear? Sounds like a Reasuian from the sound of him, just what I ordered." The voice sound very old, cold, and evil. Then we saw it come out of the shadows. It looked like a huge old wolf that was standing upright and wearing a black cloak. The most noticable thing about the creature were his eyes. Gods his eyes! It seemed like they were glowing, and they burned with madness and hate in them. Got to finish this quickly I thought. Roaring, I ran at him, ready to split it in half.

Wolfe just snapped his claws and I stopped. I looked down and saw a magical presents around me and stopping me from moving. But it didn't stop me from talking." Girls RUN!!!" The wolf grinned and snapped his claws again and all of the girls were trapped in the same magic but it looked like that they couldn't talk.Twilight and Rarity tried to use their magic so free themselves. The wolf laughed, walking around me. " The mighty Reasuian! Putting others ahead of themselves." The wolf looked like he was about to drool....

" I've been watching your kind for a thousand years, and your savagery and greed are very impressive!" The wolf laughed." Ever since lord Chaos was defeated by those horrible sisters, I've waited for his return. When he finally returned these bitches" he pointed at the ponies" Sent him back into his prision. I've been waiting for the thing that would guarantee my vengence, you!" Rainbow struggled with against the magical bonds and failed to even budge it. Don't even listen to him Marvil! She wanted to shout but failed.

" Kill these ponies Reausian, and I will give you everything you lost. Your family, your friends, and even your wife and little ones." Marvil was silent, Rainbow couldn't see any emotion in his eyes. He was silent for a while then he said, emotionless." Free me." The wolf laughed and snapped his calws and Marvil was free. " Good bye ladies!" The wolf said, his eyes shining with maddness. All of the girls thought collectivley   Marvil NO! Marvil took a step toward the girls, SunSetter in hand. Then he did something that the wolf didn't expect, he spun around and drove the great sword through the wolf.

The wolf looked at Marvil wide eyed with his mouth open. If Rainbow could, she would of smiled. that a boy Marvil Marvils eyes were red when he said, " Demon, these girls are my family" he told the wolf " they gave me back my life and happiness. If you would asked the old me their would be 6 dead ponies right now." Then he growled and shoved the sword deeper into the wolf, sending it all the way through him. " I owe them my life. They are mine and I am there's. Wither they want me or not, so Wolfe" He got closer to the wolf and said, " Die!" The wolf started to turn into dust, freeing the girls from the wolfs grasp.

Marvil threw his sword in disgust as the girls ran over to him." MARVIL!" They all jumped into his arms. the forest was back to normal, the road within eyesight and I sun was shining. Marvil put his arms tightly around the girls. All of them felt drops of water hit their heads. All of them looked and they saw that Marvil, a Reasuain warrior, who feared nothing and had fought in hundreds of battles, crying like a little baby.

The girls started to cry too and held him tighter. As Marvil wept for all of the ones he had lost and the family he had gained....... Next Chapter: Ch.17 I go to the spa Estimated time remaining: 1 Hour, 19 Minutes
