Cloudy Days woke in the morning with a smile as she got up, she brushed her teeth. She smiled as she headed downstairs, she was going to grab this second chance with both hooves.

She trotted over to Sugarcube Corner, as she entered the lovely clean bakery she was greeted by Mrs Cake “Cloudy Days, you're here.”

Cloudy asked “Um can I have a strawberry cupcake to go please?”

Mrs Cake smiled “It will be out quickly, that will be a couple bits please.”

Cloudy nodded with a smile as she pulled a few bits out of her saddlebags and placed it on the counter, Mr Cake then brought her cupcake with a smile “Here freshly baked.”

Cloudy moaned lightly as she took a bite, she left the bakery with a smile as she continued to eat her breakfast finishing as she re-entered the Library turning the sign on the door to open, she frowned as she grabbed a paper written by Twilight Sparkle about how to order the books in a Library “Right.”

She grimaced as she began reorganising books, putting them in place. She grabbed the ladder and moving to a shelf as she climbed up with some books, she took a deep breath “I now understand why some ponies say that library work is best suited to Pegasi and Unicorns.”

Then a pale yellow earth pony mare with a duel tone raspberry mane smiled “Are you the Librarian?”

Cloudy smiled “Yes I am, my name is Cloudy Days this is my first day. How can I help you?”

The mare smiled pulling a book out of her saddlebags “My name is Roseluck, I am here to return the book Rare Flowers and Their Uses as well as seeing if you have a book on exotic medicine.”

Cloudy smiled “I believe I just put that book back actually” she climbed back up the ladder, she frowned as she looked through a few books before finding it, she smiled “Exotic Medicines and How to Use Them.”

Roseluck nodded “Yes that’s exactly what I needed, I’ll bring it back in a couple of weeks.”

Cloudy smiled warmly “I’m sure you will, enjoy your book.”

Roseluck smiled “I will, I got to go.”

Cloudy got back to work reorganising the Library sorting the books, after she had the Library sorted she realised that no-one entered the Library. She decided to ask a certain pony about something, she trotted to Sweet Apple Acres with a smile. She saw Applejack sitting there on the front porch humming to herself.

Applejack smiled “Hey Cloudy, do you want something from me?”

Cloudy rubbed the back of her head “Well I have gotten soft over the years, I spent much more time around books and studying. Can you help me get my edge back?”

Applejack grinned “Ah, Ah see you want me to improve your stamina and strength don’t you. Well Ah got the perfect thing come with me.”

Applejack lead Cloudy to some wooden boards and thick wooden posts, this is where we practice Applebucking before we Apples actually start bucking trees. Applejack smiled “There’s no reason why we can’t start now, this is a wooden board the most basic traning exercise just don’t put too much force into it.”

Cloudy didn’t listen as she primed her hooves and slammed them as hard as she could, she screamed out in pain. Applejack grimaced as she trotted over “You really messed that up, try to put your back legs on the ground.” One of her legs was fine but she winced as the other touched the ground. Applejack frowned “We need to take you to a hospital, I'll help.”

Applejack hefted Cloudy Skies onto her back and carried her to the Ponyville Hospital. Applejack frowned “Somepony hurt herself, can you look at her leg.”

Nurse Redheart gave her a sympathetic smile as she saw tho two of them “Oh dear did you hurt your leg trying to practice Applebucking.”

Cloudy was escorting inst a medical room and after a white pony with a blue mane Dr X-ray did a few X-rays on her leg he sighed “I’m afraid you broke your leg…”

Cloudy was close to tears “But I’m an Earth Pony Librarian, I need my legs to work.”

Applejack smiled “I can help you, with Blue Belle and Big Mac I am barely needed on the farm so I can help you out for a few days.” After they gave the clear to Cloudy Days she left the Hospital only to much to their shock a dead unicorn fell from the sky slamming into the ground leaving a bloody mess, they looked up to see Cloudsdale flying overhead unaware this was just the beginning of something far darker.
