Queen Chrysalis groaned as she escorted the remains of her hive through the Bone Dry Desert, she growled “Stupid ponies, I turned my back on that mare and her husband for a second and we lost everything!”

She could hear her changelings travelling behind her as they approached what appeared to be a massive steam-punk styled city with a massive castle with steam pumping out of it. Chrysalis the remnants of her hive into the city, her hive blinked as they saw Ursa Majors walking through the streets wearing heavy armour and weapons, Chrysalis blinked “Who is in charge of this kingdom?”

An Abyssinian guard frowned “You are the Changeling Queen correct?”

Chrysalis frowned “Yes I am, why?”

The guard smiled “Our Queen has a proposition for you, do you wish to speak with her?” Chrysalis nodded, she knew she had no other choice, the guard escorted her toward the steam-punk styled castle, huge metal pipes emerge out of weird places pumping out steam.

Chrysalis commanded across the Hive Mind (Changelings keep out of sight, I’m being called to meet the ruler of this kingdom and hopefully we can make a deal with her so we can stay here.)

Chrysalis’ eyes widened as she saw the bronze coloured steam powered machines all over the building as she was escorted to the throne room, what was even more shocking for her was the mare who was sitting on the large chair in front of a round table, she was taller, more well muscled and had a pair of wing but Chrysalis had no doubt who this was (It’s Twilight Sparkle, shit!)

Twilight smiled “Take a seat, may I have your name?”

Chrysalis shivered “I-I a-am Q-Queen C-Chrysalis your highness.”

Twilight laughed “Relax and please call me Twilight, I hate formalities” she then frowned as he got serious “I have a simple proposition for you, I know your changelings are starving and need a home, I am willing to give them full citizenship in exchange for some of them acting as spies.”

Tempest trotted in “My Queen we still have no idea of where the tower is.”

Twilight nodded “I understand, keep up the search.” Twilight then turned back to Chrysalis, her words were laced with venom “There is only one question I need you to answer and I expect the absolute truth, do you know what happened at the Canterlot wedding?”

Chrysalis took a deep breath trying to regain her composure before responding honestly “I was responsible, I had kidnapped Cadence taking her place and brainwashed your brother so he would not doubt me, as for your other friends I’m surprised they turned on you like that.”

Chrysalis was shocked as Twilight’s horn glowed green like a changeling before she turned to Chrysalis “I am angry at you but you are a valuable asset so my offer still stands, you people will be given free reign in my kingdom and you will my spy-master. No harm will come to your people as long as you are honest with me.”

Chrysalis nodded “I accept your proposal.”

Twilight smiled “Good Tempest will escort you around the city, in the meantime I need to shatter some pots.”

Tempest had teleported right next to Chrysalis, Tempest took a deep breath “I’m never going to get used to that.” Tempest frowned “Come on then let’s escort you through the city.”

Chrysalis was escorted out of the massive castle (Everyling mingle, this is your new home.) Chrysalis was shocked as her changelings moved onto the streets everyone even the ponies were very accepting of them, she even found a few asking them questions about their culture.

Tempest chuckled “Twilight hates anyone being treated differently because of who they are” Tempest smile turned into a scowl as she pulled Chrysalis into an alley “Now listen here Twilight is a rough spot right now, she is just starting to get over the loss of someone very special to her so if you do anything to hurt her I promise you a slow and painful death is that clear!”

Chrysalis gulped “Crystal.”

Tempest grinned “Good now let’s show you around.” Tempest guided her to a massive park with statue of a massive red minotaur with a dark blue mane holding a massive axe. Tempest sighed “This is Stature Memorial Park.”

Chrysalis blinked “Who’s Stature?”

Tempest frowned “He is the individual who I mentioned, he was her first love and she has only just got over his death. There is more to see.” Chrysalis followed Tempest through the wide streets of Klugetown, she save a Ursa Major gently playing with a group of young ponies, Abyssinians and Pantherians, Tempest smiled “This is the base of the Star Storm Mercenaries where everything started.”

Chrysalis frowned “How did a nerdy bookworm like her become a warrior?”

Tempest grimaced “Klugetown and the surrounding areas are rough, all we know is she met up with a merchant pony who taught her combat, she hasn’t told us much else.”

Chrysalis blinked “Really.”

Tempest nodded “Yes.”

As they were moving through Klugetown they saw a large empty field next to a huge barracks building, a blue dragon was standing in front of row of Ursa Majors, Abyssinians, Pantherians as well as Ponies, Wyverns, Dragons, Minotaurs, Griffons and even a few Changelings. Chrysalis blinked “What’s going on?”

Tempest grinned “You’re in for a real treat, the dragon at the front there is names Crystal and she is in charge of training all the new recruits. I thought I was harsh but I have nothing on her.”

Chrysalis watched as Crystal roared “Stand at attention!”

Everyone except one Ursa Major stood in a line saluting, Crystal turned to the Ursa Major with a fierce scowl “Why are you not in line with the others?!”

The Ursa frowned “Why should I follow the orders of a pathetic dragon like yourself.” Crystal didn’t even speak instead she slammed her fist into the Ursa Major’s gut bringing him to the ground, before skydiving into his head bringing him to the ground.

Crystal then turned to the rest of them especially the other two Ursa Majors “Anyone else have an issue with me?!” Everyone just shook their heads, she nodded “Now because of him fifty pushups each and if one of you stops the rest have to start again, am I clear!” They all nodded.

Chrysalis blinked “She is scary.”

Tempest shook her head “Those who wish to enter the Phoenix Fire Core better be ready to fight or else they will die, now let’s show you around the rest of the town before we can put you and your changelings on duty.” Chrysalis nodded before she was escorted through the city to multiple places including the machine factory and to even see the floating Cloud City, Starry Storms.
