Sunset opened her locker.

She quickly rummaged through some stuff and found an old dusty book.

"When I was Princess Celestia's student back in Equestria, she gave me this. Even after I abandoned my studies, I held onto it. Deep down, I guess I knew I was making a big mistake, and I wanted to still have a way to reach out to her. Maybe it still works." She said, opening the book to a blank page.

"That's a book, darling. What do you mean, 'maybe still works?'" Rarity asked.

"It has a faint energy inside. It most likely works." Gohan said.

"It used to be that if I wrote something here, it would appear in the pages of a book back in Princess Celestia's library. I get a message to her, then she can get a message to Princess Twilight." Sunset said.

"How long will that take?" Gohan asked.

"One hour? Two hours? Three hours, tops." Sunset said.

"Princess Celestia sends things in a timely fashion." She said.

"So what are you waiting for? Get to writing!" Rainbow Dash said, holding a pen out.

Sunset took the pen, and sighed.

"Been a long time since I've written these words. 'Dear Princess Celestia...'" She wrote.

That message instantly traveled to Equestria!

Ah, the magical land of Equestria.

Lucky bastards don't have Androids.

Okay, so a lot has happened since Twilight's last visit.

She has a freaking castle now.

It's reserved for her and her friends, no biggie...

She recently defeated Tirek with the magic of friendship, and this castle came form it.

Her original home was destroyed in the fight...

The main six and Spike were just hanging around in the throne room.

Applejack and Fluttershy pushed a box into the room...

Pinkie was blowing a balloon, Rarity wiped her throne, Spike was reading books, Twilight was reading letters and books on the floor and Rainbow Dash just flew around.

And there was a delivery pony with grey fur and a black mane with a wheelbarrow of books.

"Excuse me, Princess. Where do you want all these books from Princess Celestia?" He asked.

"The library. Third door on the left." Twilight said, focusing on her book.

"Even this one that's glowin' and vibratin'?" The delivery pony asked.

Yeah, on the top of the pile, there was a pink vibrating book.

Twilight looked away from her letters and took the book with her magic.

She started reading...

Her friends gathered around her...

"What is it, Twilight?" Fluttershy asked.

"It looks like a message to Princess Celestia from my friends at Canterlot High." Twilight said.

"How is that even possible?" Rarity asked.

"I have no idea, but it... sounds like they need my help." Twilight said.

In the library...

Twilight pulled out a book from one of the shelves.

"The way Sunset Shimmer described them, I think these new girls sound an awful lot like... the sirens." She said, placing the book on the table.

Her friends gathered around it.

"Not the sirens!" Pinkie exclaimed.

...Then she leaned towards Fluttershy.

"I don't actually know what that is!" She whispered.

Twilight opened the book to a page on the sirens.

"The sirens were three beautiful but dangerous creatures who had the power to charm ponies with their music. But to maintain this power, they had to feed on the negativity and distrust of others. The more of this negative energy they consumed, the stronger their voices became, and the farther they could spread their dark magic." Twilight explained.

"I don't think I like this story very much." Fluttershy said.

"If the sirens had their way, they would have divided and conquered all of Equestria. But a certain Star Swirl the Bearded wasn't having it. Rumor has it he found a way to banish them to another world – one where he believed their magic power would be lost. That world must have been the one where my Canterlot High friends live." Twilight said.

"But Star Swirl must have sent them there ages ago. How come they're just surfacin' now?" Applejack asked.

"I don't know. But if my hunch is right and it is the sirens who have come to Canterlot High, this spell they've cast is just the beginning. My friends need me." Twilight said.

"Did Sunset Shimmer explain why Gohan couldn't just handle it?" Spike asked.

"No. I'm hoping it isn't because they're too strong..." Twilight said.

"I have to get back to them." She said.

"I hate to burst your bubble, Twilight, but the connection between their world and Equestria will still be totally cut off for a super long time." Rainbow Dash said.

"Okay, first of all, if there was bubble-blowing going on, why wasn't I told about it!?" Pinkie asked angrily.

"And secondly, if the connection is totally cut off, how was Sunset Shimmer able to get a message to Twilight?" She also asked.

Twilight gasped.

"Pinkie, you're a genius!" She said, running off to grab some stuff.

"Yeah, I get that a lot." Pinkie said.

Then she grabbed Rainbow Dash, and-

"Now about those bubbles!" She yelled.

Ah. Twilight built this... thing.

"...And the interval between the two points is defined as the square root of the sum of the squares of the separation between the points along three spatial dimensions." She explained.

Yeah, this was cut up nicely.

Nobody knew what the hell she was talking about.

"Say what now?" Spike asked.

"Duh!" Pinkie said.

"She's gonna take the magic in here-" She said, pointing at Celestia's book.

"-and put it in there." She said, pointing at the mirror.

"That'll make the portal open up so that whenever she wants to, she can go from here to there. There to here. Here to there. Here there! Here there! Here-" Pinkie said, before-

"We get the idea!" Applejack said.

"Now to see if it actually works." Twilight said.

She used her magic to place the book in the machine, and it emitted a purple light...

Which happened to emit electricity into the antennae, which flowed into some machine that started converting it to magical electricity that went into Tesla coils and...

Big flash of light, the mirror is now purple!

"Ah...!" Everyone said.

"Don't suppose we could join you this time around?" Applejack asked.

"Better not. It could make things pretty confusing if Canterlot High all of a sudden had two of all of you." Twilight said.

Yeah, every one nodded and said yes in agreement.

"But I still get to go, right? There isn't another one of me at Canterlot High. And you never know if you might need your trusty assistant." Spike said.

Twilight nodded.

"Yes!" Spike said.

"We won't be gone for long." Twilight said, gesturing for a group hug.

Yeah, everyone gave her that hug.

Then she walked away to stand beside Spike.

"Ready?" She asked.

"Ready!" Spike said.

Those two ran into the portal!

Yeah, it's been about an hour...

The main cast just hung out outside the portal...

Rarity started painting Fluttershy's nails...

Sunset and Rainbow Dash sat against the slab...

Applejack and Pinkie were playing poker on top of it.

...And Gohan just stood there.

Rainbow Dash sighed.

"I'm starting to think she's not coming." She said.

...Then Gohan felt something inside the slab...

"...She's coming." He said.

...Then Twilight and Spike were flung out from the portal.

They crash landed...

"Twilight!" Everyone said.

"...I'm back...!" Twilight said.

Sunset held a hand out to her, but...

Twilight was hesitant to take it.

Sunset smiled, and Twilight took it.

All the girls gathered around her for a group hug.

...Conveniently leaving Sunset out.

...But Twilight broke the hug, and-

"And I've got some bad news about those new girls." She said.

Oh boy.

They were at Sugarcube Corner now.

Everyone had a drink of some sort.

Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Gohan and Applejack on chairs around a table while Pinkie, Twilight, Rarity and Sunset sat on the couch.

Spike remained on Fluttershy's lap.

"Sirens? I thought those were just Greek myths." Gohan said.

"How do you know that?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Research. The sirens were three beautiful beings with beautiful voices that led Greek sailors to their doom, according to lore." Gohan said.

"Well, they're not in a myth in Equestria." Twilight said.

"Oh, I do hate that you had to return at a time of crisis. There's so much catching up to do!" Rarity said to Twilight.

"For starters, a certain blue-haired guitar player was just askin' about you." Applejack said.

"Flash Sentry was asking about me!?" Twilight asked excitedly, twirling her hair.

Then everyone was staring at her.

"...Now I understand." Gohan said.

...Twilight cleared her throat.

"Isn't that nice?" She asked, sipping her milkshake.

"Perhaps you would give us just the slightest bit of gossip from your world?" Rarity asked.

"She's got an official title now." Spike said.

Then he imitated fanfare!

"The Princess of Friendship!" He said.

That was her title beforehand you little shit

"Wow, that's really impressive. Guess you really were Princess Celestia's prized pupil." Sunset said.

"She's even got her own castle!" Spike said.

"A castle!?" Rarity asked immediately and excitedly.

"You have your own castle!?" She asked.

...Then she backed away, clearing her throat.

"Isn't that nice?" She asked.

"What's new here? I mean, besides your school becoming the target of dangerous magical creatures from Equestria?" Twilight asked.

Rainbow Dash pulled out her phone.

"Yeah, so, that isn't exactly the only strange thing that's happened since you left." She said, showing a video of her playing guitar and getting wings and stuff.

Twilight was relatively shocked...

"Pretty sweet, huh? It happens to all of us when we play." Rainbow Dash said.

"Except for me. I don't play." Gohan said.

"Hmm. My crown was returned to Equestria, but some of its magic must have remained here at Canterlot High." Twilight said.

"That's exactly what I said." Gohan said.

"Now that we're all back together, we can use that magic on the sirens. Just like when we were able to use it on Sunset Shimmer when she turned into that horrifyingly awful winged monster!" Twilight said.

...She's sitting right next to you. Dick.

"No offense." Twilight said.

"None taken, heh. I'm used to it." Sunset said.

"But... Why can't you do anything about this?" Twilight asked Gohan.

"They have the whole school under their control. Even Celestia and Luna. I don't think you want a bunch of people turned against you." Gohan said.

"They'll never even know what hit 'em!" Rainbow Dash yelled, standing up.

She started making karate noises and throwing punches, kicks, a Kamehameha and-

Gohan finally stopped it by grabbing her fist.

"Just stop. All of that was sloppy and easily punishable." He said.

"Wha- Sloppy?" Rainbow Dash asked.

Gohan let go of her fist.

"No rhythm, predictable and yes, sloppy." He said.

Then he turned to Twilight.

"Oh, did you find me in that other world?" He asked.

"...Actually, we didn't find you... We believe that you don't exist at all." Twilight said.

"What?" Gohan asked.

"We did a ton of research, Princess Celestia helped us out with records and stuff... And we couldn't find anything related to you." Spike said.

"...That's strange. Oh well." Gohan said.

"I think somepony would've said something by now if they saw a pony that can change his hair color and fly without wings." Sunset said.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Gohan said.

"We've got nothin' to worry about now that Twilight's back." Applejack said.

"That's not true..." Gohan said.

"Oh, I'm pretty sure I could find something to worry about. But it won't be the sirens." Fluttershy said.

"The sooner we do this, the better. Any idea where the Dazzlings might be?" Twilight asked.

"They're at Canterlot High at the moment." Gohan said.

"How do you know?" Sunset asked.

"I can sense power levels." Gohan said.

"There's a big party tonight for all the bands who signed up to be in the showcase! That would include the Dazzlings." Pinkie said.

"Looks like we've got a party to crash." Twilight said.

Damn, everyone in this gym absolutely loathes each other.

Our main group hung out at the snack table, and Gohan was fighting the urge to just eat everything.

Flash and Snips were fighting...

Snips gestured for Flash to hit him, and Flash wound up a fist, but...

...He just grabbed his cup and groaned.

"I'm gonna get some more punch." He said angrily.

...Then he bumped into Twilight, and they both dropped their drinks.

He also happened to catch her by the lower back before she fell down.

"Twilight?" He asked happily.

"Eh, bumped, into, always, doing?" Twilight said nervously.

Flash helped her stand.

"What are you doing here? You came back for the big competition, right?" He asked.

"Something like that." Twilight said.

"Huh. Not that there's gonna be any real competition. No one here wants this as bad as my band does!" Flash said proudly.

Then the group noticed that the Dazzlings have entered the room.

Rainbow Dash tapped on Twilight's shoulder and gestured towards the doors.

"Can you excuse me for just a minute?" Twilight asked, slipping away.

Flash didn't really care.

The Dazzlings stood proudly in the middle of the gym, looking at the chaos they stirred up.

Fighting...

Fighting everywhere.

"Oh, no! No one's mingling! It's like there's some kind of underlying tension that could bubble to the surface at any minute!" Adagio said in mock surprise.

"It's the fruit punch, isn't it? I knew I used too much grape juice!" Sonata said, holding a bottle of apple juice...

Adagio restrained her aneurism...

"It's not the fruit punch, it's us!" She said.

"But the punch is awful, too." Aria said.

"What do you know about good punch?" Sonata asked.

"More than you." Aria said.

Sonata flicked Aria in the face.

"Do not." She said.

"Do too." Aria said, messing up Sonata's hair.

Sonata fixed herself.

"This is just the kickoff party, girls. Imagine what a tizzy they'll be in by the time the Battle of the Bands starts." Adagio said.

"There isn't going to be a Battle of the Bands!" Twilight said.

Ah, the gang is looking fresh.

"We're gonna make sure of that! Alright, girls, let's do this! Friendship is magic!" She yelled.

Then they all held hands and closed their eyes.

Except for Gohan and Sunset, they were on the sidelines.

...

...

...

Someone coughed...

Everyone was looking at them like they were dumbasses.

"...Uh, weren't there rainbows and lasers and stuff last time?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"I don't understand. We're all together again. Why isn't this working?" Twilight asked.

Spike climbed out from her bag to whisper...

"You, uh... really need to go ahead and do that whole 'magic of friendship' thing now." He said.

"I'm trying, Spike. I thought the six of us standing together against the sirens would bring out the magic we needed to defeat them. That's what happened before." Twilight said.

"Talk about throwing down the gauntlet!" Adagio said.

"This group is obviously serious about winning! A little cocky though, aren't they? Claiming there won't really be a battle. Seems they think they've already got this thing all locked up." She said.

Oh boy, that was the catalyst.

"Not if the Great and Powerful Trrrrrixie has anything to do with it!" Trixie yelled.

"Whatever, Trixie! We're the best band at CHS!" Flash yelled, pointing a finger like Phoenix Wright.

"No! The Crusaders are gonna win!" Applebloom yelled.

Uh oh, now they're all arguing AND they're depositing green energy.

Gohan knew what to do.

"Stand back." He muttered to Sunset.

He fired a yellow ki blast, but kept it suspended in the air.

The Dazzlings were now being powered up...

The energy went into their pendants, and they closed their eyes.

...Then it was cut short.

...

"...What's going on? Where's our magic?" Adagio asked.

She noticed a ki blast flying around, moving that magic away...

It was circling all the green energy into one spot...

It flew over and under students to get those tight spots.

And the energy was gathered into the corner, where...

This karate guy was!

There was a huge deposit of magic right there...

He held it over his head with two hands, somehow.

And he kicked open the window to hurl it out!

Well, it did get stuck for a moment...

But he punched it out.

How the hell can he see it!?

"That... How is he stealing our magic!?" Adagio asked angrily.

"I don't know, how would we know?" Aria asked.

"That energy... I couldn't sense it. That's impossible." Adagio said.

Then, Adagio also noticed that the girls in front of her weren't arguing...

Then she smirked.

"I think we may have found what we're looking for. Or rather, it found us." Adagio said.

She looked towards Aria, who quickly understood, and Sonata who...

Didn't know what she was talking about.

Aria face palmed, and-

"Magic! Don't you see!? Everyone else has fallen under our spell." Adagio said.

The girls were all fleeing from the gym...

As well as Gohan, who gave the Dazzlings a death stare.

"But not these girls and boy. They are special." Adagio said.

"He just stole our magic and threw it out the window, obviously!" Sonata said.

"But he doesn't have magic either." Aria said.

"We'll press further later." Adagio said.

Outside, on the stairs...

Everyone but Twilight sat down.

"It doesn't make any sense. I should have been able to create the spark that would help us break their spell. That's how it worked before." Twilight said.

"What exactly did you do to create the spark last time?" Gohan asked.

"To defeat me, you drew magic from the crown I was wearing. The sirens' magic comes from their music. So maybe you have to use the same kind of magic to defeat them. Or... maybe not." Sunset said.

"No. I think you're onto something." Twilight said.

"Really?" Sunset asked.

"It's when you play music that you transform now, right?" Twilight asked.

"Yup. Ears, tails, the whole shebang." Applejack said.

"So maybe the way to use that magic to defeat the sirens is by playing a musical counter-spell!" Twilight said.

"You mean like a song?" Fluttershy asked.

"Uh-huh. And in order to free everyone who's been exposed to the sirens' spell, we'll need them all to hear it." Twilight said.

"So we could just get in the gym right now and play a counter-spell." Gohan said.

Then Rarity gasped, standing up.

"The band competition! That's the next time we can be certain everyone will be in the same place at the same time." She said.

Applejack stood up, too.

"Guess the Rainbooms are the band to beat." She said.

"And I believe you, Twilight, just became the Rainbooms' newest member." Rarity said.

Now all the girls except for Sunset ran over to cheer for Twilight...

She felt left out, and it was very apparent.

But, she stood up with Gohan anyway.

"So? What do you want to play?" Pinkie asked.

She pulled out a triangle...

"Triangle?" She asked.

"Sousaphone?" She asked, pulling out the sousaphone and playing it.

"Theremin?" She asked.

Then Pinkie somehow inexplicably pulled out a theremin.

She started playing it, and-

"Soooo magical." She said.

"I might take a little too long to learn how to play something with these. I'll just sing." Twilight said.

"Like, as in, lead singer? Cuz that's usually my gig. This being my band and all." Rainbow Dash said.

"It's our band! And, of course, as lead singer. She's the one with the magical know-how to help us pull this thing off." Applejack said.

"Okay, yeah, that's cool. I'll just use this as a chance to hone my already insanely good lead guitar skills." Rainbow Dash said.

"It's only temporary. And we don't have to win the Battle of the Bands. We just have to perform during the first round of the competition." Twilight said.

"Let's get to learning that musical counter-spell!" Rainbow Dash said enthusiastically.

"Well, that's just it. I don't know any." Twilight said.

Collective awws.

"But I'm sure I could figure out how to write one." She said.

"Totally! Twilight can write a spell like it's nobody's business. That's pretty much how she got to become a princess in Equestria." Spike said.

"Technically, I helped finish a spell. And there was a little more to it than that, Spike." Twilight said.

"Yeah, whatever." Spike said.

"I've got this." Twilight said, walking up the steps.

"Come on." She said to Spike.

"Where are you going?" Applejack asked.

"Well, last time we were here, Spike and I spent the night in the library." Twilight said.

Pinkie rushed up to Twilight.

"Are you crazy!? We're besties now!" She said, hugging the crap outta Twilight.

Then she lifted her off the ground.

"Slumber party at my house!" She said.

"Sorry, I can't go." Gohan said.

Then Pinkie dropped Twilight.

"Why not?" She asked sadly.

"I'll have to ask my mother, and she doesn't really want me to do stuff like-" "Then don't tell her!" Pinkie said.

"I have a 7:00 curfew." Gohan said.

"Then just ask!" Pinkie said.

"Ugh, I'll ask, but if I don't come back, then just leave." Gohan said, walking towards the sidewalk.

He cupped his hands over his mouth, and-

"Nimbus!"

...In moments, the yellow cloud flew down in front of Gohan.

"Woah!" Spike said.

"You can ride clouds here!?" Twilight asked.

"Not really, this is just a special cloud." Gohan said, hopping on.

"It's my father's Flying Nimbus." He said.

"See ya!" Gohan said, flying away.

The cloud left a yellow streak...

...

"...How have you gotten used to that?" Twilight asked.

"He let me ride it." Fluttershy said.

"We just got used to it." Rarity said.

"He doesn't really show his power off." Rainbow Dash asked.

"He just won't explain it to us yet." Sunset said.

So, Gohan did come back...

Jumping off the cloud from a high altitude this time.

The cloud just flew off, and Gohan gently landed in front of the portal with a giant wrapped blue bag at his side.

"Oh, so you could come!" Pinkie said.

"...It took too much to convince her to go, but I have managed..." Gohan said.

He didn't even want to describe the conversation...

"What's with the bag?" Sunset asked.

"It's my clothes and my dinner... Or, half of it. She wasn't happy with me, so..." Gohan said.

"Don't worry! I already ordered 20 pizza pies!" Pinkie said.

"...What are pizza pies?" Gohan asked.

...

"...You're trying it tonight, it's awesome." Rainbow Dash said.

"O-Okay..." Gohan said.

Gogeta is confirmed! Awesome!

...Fuck, I was planning a story on him since August. I finally figured out how to get him in Equestria a few weeks ago...
