Chapter 20: Rollercoaster Of Rigged Ranting And Romance

Author's Notes:

I am SO sorry for not getting another short out, I had two different ones started, I wasn't sure what to do, and this was all I could muster up in my head. I appreciate all of your patience.

Rest assured, I will try to get my head back in the game and get some better shorts out for you guys.

Equestria-land. The newest amusement park to be put into Canterlot. After years of construction and organization, it had finally opened up to the public and was ready to start welcoming in customers. And some of its first customers were none other than the Song Of The Sea themselves, Canterlot High's newest heroes.

"I can't believe it, after all of this time, its finally done!" Trixie squeed.

Adagio giggled, watching Trixie's excitement.

"Hard to believe its finally done. I didn't even know they were finished!" Sonata said, gazing up at the sign at the front gate.

"Neither did we," Bon Bon shook her head.

"So what are we waiting for? Lets go get our tickets and get in!" Vinyl smiled.

After standing in line and getting their tickets, the girls passed on through without a hitch. After walking through, they pulled out a few maps of the entire park, just so a few groups could have them (and to avoid getting lost)

"So, where shall we go first?" Adagio asked.

"Well, Octavia and I are hitting a few roller coasters. They've got some of the most insane tracks that a few adrenaline junkies like us would like," Aria smirked.

"Lets get crazy," Octavia hissed with a wild grin.

"But shouldn't we--"

Too late. Aria and Octavia already left without a second to spare, leaving the group behind.

"Okay, I guess that leaves the seven of us then," Adagio shrugged.

"Oooh!" Sonata grinned. "They've got water rides! Good thing I came prepared!"

"Water slides! Now that's more like it!" Vinyl smiled.

Vinyl and Sonata both dashed off, heading for the water slides.

"... I guess, that's just five--"

"Oooh, they have an arcade!" Lyra grinned.

"Lets go!"

Bon Bon, Amethyst, and Lyra all dashed off and away. Now it was just Adagio and Trixie by themselves. Not that Adagio minded. It was nice to just be with her girlfriend, but still, she thought it'd be a lot more fun if she had all of her friends there.

"Well then, my little performer, I guess its just you and me," Adagio grinned.

Trixie smiled. "I guess so, Dagi..."

Trixie leaned into Adagio's side, giving her a side hug. Adagio reciprocated with a bigger hug, holding her close.

"So, where would you like to go to first?"

"I... I don't know," Trixie sheepishly said.

"Well, as part of our relationship, I believe its my obligation to go to one of the prize counters and win you a plushie," Adagio winked.

Trixie laughed, "You really want to try that?"

"You don't know. Maybe I might win."

"Well don't get cocky, okay? Some of these small corners are rigged. I tried one some of those with my cousin a few years ago, we were conned of all of our tickets."

Adagio frowned, but it was only for a second. "Well, I'm not going to let the same thing happen. We've been here over a thousand years, centuries! I haven't done games like these in years, but I think I could win. Who knows..."

Vinyl and Sonata made it to the top of the waterslide. Both dressed in their bathing suits, and with a raft to ride on for when they would shoot straight down.

"Oh, this is going to be so much fun!" Vinyl grinned, her hands clapping together.

"I love waterslides! I tried to get Dagi to find a house where we could install one, but... yeah, she wasn't really open to the idea. Said something about it not being in our budget," Sonata said.

"I'm sure it was probably a money situation, Sonata," Vinyl replied, patting her shoulder.

"Alright, you two. You're up," The lifeguard said.

The two smiled and got into the raft. The two of them held on tight, and waited for the people at the bottom of the slide to be finally cleared from the splash zone. Once they were gone, the raft was pushed forward, and the two girls clinged on tight. As they reached over the edge, they went with the raft, falling straight down launching themselves straight down the slide, like they had just fallen off the cliff.

They held on the raft as tight as they could, and cheered in pure joy and excitement as they came rushing down the slide. Once it had reached a bottom, it had slided right into the open and shallow pool where they could climb out.

"Whoo-hoo!" The girls cheered.

"That was fun!" Vinyl whistled.

Sonata and Vinyl grinned, looking at each other.

"Go ahead?"

"I thought you never ask!"

Adagio and Trixie walked idly by, walking past many of the games. Many different ones had lined up, like ring toss, basketball shooting, and much more. But Adagio's eyes forced her to stop. Before her eyes stood a ring toss game, much like any other. But what interested her was some of the prizes that they had hanging from the ceiling. So many cute stuffed animals! In fact...

"Hey Trixie, check it out," Adagio pointed, looking at the ring toss.

"Ring toss?"

"Mmmhmm. I think I may wanna try that game."

"I don't know, Adagio. That particular game is kind of... rigged. That's the kind of game my cousin and I played years ago, it was... not fun."

Adagio still smiled. "Well I think I can change this. I'm not stopping until I win my little performer a teddy bear."

"Oh, well, I guess if you wanted to..." Trixie rubbed the back of her head.

Adagio and Trixie approached the counter, looking at the woman standing behind it.

"I wish to play your game," Adagio smirked.

After paying her tickets, she was given the rings.

"Allow history to be changed," Adagio said, winking to her girlfriend.

Some Time Later...

Trixie was petrified. Adagio had failed so many times now, and she was starting to show her anger. She had scratched at her hair so much that it was now messy and all over the face. She was seething through her teeth, and one of her eyes was twitching. She looked like she was about to physically assault the woman behind the counter, but the woman behind the counter interpreted this more as Adagio planning to commit a murder; and she would be the murdered.

"Um... Adagio? Maybe we should, you know, try something else now?"

"No! I can't just let her win like that!" Adagio ranted. "They think because they're the ones running the prize corners, they can just con us out of tickets and our hard-earned cash! Well that ends here, I'm winning this game, and I will! You can't just let them win like that!"

"Adagio!"

Carefully, she yanked on her arm, pulling her away.

"You're scaring the woman behind the counter, you've been yanking at your hair, and you look exhausted," Trixie pleaded, "Please, just stop..."

Adagio panted, trying to catch her breath. She finally let her hands drop and open up, and she slumped her shoulders.

"Trixie, I am so sorry, I..."

"Adagio, why were you getting bent out of shape over it? Its just one game, isn't it?"

"I know it is, but... I guess I just wanted to show how much I loved you by getting you that stuffed bear," Adagio frowned.

Trixie smiled and she brushed the hair away from Adagio's eyes. "Adagio, I already know how much you love me."

Adagio looked into Trixie's beautiful purple eyes.

"Really?"

"Mmmhmm," Trixie gave her a peck. "I know you were trying to win one for me, but its okay if you didn't win. I'm just happy that you tried."

Adagio slowly began to smile, and she pulled Trixie closer, giving her a hug. Trixie hugged her back, rubbing and patting her back.

"Now, how about we go get some ice cream? Something to turn that frown upside down," Trixie cooed.

Adagio smiled back, nuzzling Trixie's cheek. "I would like that."

Holding hands, she walked with Adagio over to one of the stands. Thankfully, Adagio didn't get stopped by any other games that were in the vicinity of the area. Too focused on the ice cream. Oh, the ice cream looked sooo good right now. Especially on a hot day that they were having right now.

"I'd like to purchase an ice cream sandwich, and what would you like baby?" Adagio asked, looking to Trixie.

"Um, could I perhaps order a vanilla ice cream cone with a dash of sprinkles?"

"Of course, ma'am," the man behind the counter smiled. "Now, who will be paying?"

"I am," Adagio said, pulling money out of her wallet.

"Aw, Dagi, you don't need to--"

"--Trixie, please. I insist," Adagio kissed her cheek.

After paying for the ice cream, the man behind the counter started to put together Trixie's ice cream.

"You know, I don't say this to a lot of the people that pass on by here, but you two are adorable," the man smiled.

Trixie's cheeks went a harsh red, making Adagio giggle a bit.

"Thank you. That's very kind of you sir," Adagio complimented.

Once their orders were finished, the two girls grabbed their ice cream, moving to sit under an umbrella in the nice shade. Better than being out in the hot beating sun. Adagio unwrapped the plastic around her ice cream sandwich, and happily took a bite into it, enjoying the cold but sweet ice cream.

"Mmm... that's just what I needed," Adagio said, lustfully, munching into her food.

Trixie took a few bites into her ice cream cone, even taking some of the waffle cone with it.

"What do you suppose our friends are doing?"

"Well, knowing Aria and Amethyst, they're probably off having fun on a rollercoaster somewhere...

***Meanwhile***

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Aria and Amethyst were screaming for their lives at the front seat of the rollercoaster. They were enjoying the ride for sure, but the biggest fear to them was just the anticipation. The slow drive to the top before they were thrown straight down and sent spiralling around and upside down on an insane track.

"THIS IS AWESOME!!" Amethyst cheered, raising her arms up in the air.

***

"...And I imagine, Lyra and the others are probably kicking butt at whatever arcade games they're playing," Adagio replied, taking another bite of her sandwich.

Trixie nodded, contemplating in thought. "I see."

"Hopefully, no one is going into rage like I did not too long ago..."

***Meanwhile Again***

"ITS NOT ABOUT THE PARAKEET!" Bon Bon ranted, slapping the stuffed animal out of the man's hand.

"Ma'am, please, you must--"

"HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE ANY DRAGONS AVAILABLE!?"

Lyra and Vinyl were quaking in fear from Bon Bon's rage.

"Do you think Bon Bon has some unresolved anger issues?" Vinyl gulped.

"You know... I'm starting to think so," Lyra whimpered. "I knew I should have signed her up for anger management class..."

After finishing their ice cream, Adagio turned her head towards another booth. Trixie looked to where Adagio had her gaze, and she whimpered. The counter she had her eyes locked on, was a shooting range kind of counter, with a rifle sitting on the counter.

"Oh no, please, Adagio, don't tell me you're going to keep going on and on with those games again..."

"Trixie," Adagio whispered. "I've got this..."

"No, Adagio, please--"

"Its okay."

Adagio looked at her girlfriend, stroking her cheek. She had such a beautiful smile, even more so, looking so adorable with that innocent look.

"I'm 100% positive I can win this."

"H-How?"

Adagio grinned. "Over centuries of experience. I've participated in both World Wars, Vietnam, the French, Mexican, and American Revolution, and not to mention, survived a battle with a raging she-demon just a few weeks ago! If I can do all of that, I can win this."

Trixie couldn't find anything to argue or use against her. Adagio had her beat. But she knew if she was going to rant and rave at the man who worked at the counter for rigging the game, she would have to stop her before they would get kicked out.

Adagio handed in her tickets, and then picked up the gun. Once it had the bullets inside, she cocked the gun and held it tight.

"Lock, and load."

Adagio's eye looked through the scope while her other eye closed tightly. Locked on target, she pulled the trigger, knocking down the first tin can. Loading the next bullet in, she shot down another tin can. And then another, and another, and another, and another, until she had knocked down almost every can that was standing on the shelf.

Trixie was astonished by Adagio's aim. She just couldn't believe that a girl like that was able to shoot every single one of those targets, with almost 100% accuracy. It was uncanny.

After the last can was shot and the bullets had run out, Adagio put the gun back down on the table. The woman behind the counter nodded, admiring her accuracy.

"Not bad... how are you so good at that, may I ask?" The woman asked.

Adagio couldn't help but feel smug. "Years of experience."

"Well, either way, you've scored a ton of points, and you can choose your prize. Tell me, what are you looking for today?"

Adagio looked up, gazing the prizes above. The one above made her smile. Just what she was after! After being handed her prize, Adagio hid it behind her back before slowly moving up to Trixie.

"Hey Trixie? I hope you don't mind but... I won you this," Adagio said, pulling the stuffed animal behind her back.

Trixie squeaked. "Aww, Dagi!"

In her hand was a small white teddy bear, with a cute blue bow tie.

"Do you like it?"

"I love it! Aww, Dagi, its adorable!" Trixie gave the little bear a big hug, and then pulled Adagio in for an even bigger hug. Adagio just smiled and relaxed in Trixie's arms, holding her closer.

"I'm glad you love it," Adagio smiled, pulling her in and giving a kiss on the lips.

Trixie nuzzled Adagio back, not wanting to let her go.

"So, you want to go find the others? See how they're doing?" Adagio asked.

"Of course!"

Smiling with a blush, Adagio held her girlfriend's hand, and the two walked away once again to find their friends. Hopefully none of them had gotten sick, lost, or in trouble with the staff. Preferably, they wished none of those had happened. But knowing Adagio's sisters and their friends, they just know that something silly or bizarre probably would have happened. And it would be worth it.
