Author's Notes:

This was an idea in the back of my head that I thought about doing for a while, but I didn't know how to properly execute. Probably didn't, but I'm showing you guys the end result regardless.

Anyways, wanted to get some development in, or at least, some focus of some sort in. Enjoy!

"No."

"Please?"

"No!"

"Amy!"

"I'm not doing this, girls!" Amethyst whined.

Adagio Dazzle, Vinyl Scratch, and Amethyst Star walked through the city in Canterlot, passing by several of the stores and shops and other buildings along their walk. They were planning on meeting up with some friends later on in the day, but there was one mission they had dead set in their radar.

"I don't want to get a different set of clothes, come on! What's wrong with the shoulder pads and parachute pants, I love them!"

"I know, but you were exposed on the news wearing them as your superhero garb!" Vinyl explained. "Do you know what would happen if you were to be wearing them right now? Someone could find out who you are, link you to the rest of us, and our identities would be revealed instantly! Do you have any idea of how much stress this could put onto our families?"

Amethyst sighed. "Yeah..."

"So, we're finding you another outfit that fits your 80s loving style. Now come on," Adagio said, urging Amethyst to keep on following her."

Amethyst rolled her eyes, slouching her shoulders as she walked with her friends.

"This is pointless, you know. No one around here is going to have something that fits my style."

"I beg to differ," Adagio said, stopping in front of a single small store. Amethyst turned her head, groaning.

"No. Absolutely, not."

"Amy--"

"You know I don't like that poser," Amethyst snarled.

"Maybe so, but lets not forget, these girls have to work to earn your respect. Maybe see it as a chance to see a new her, or at least another perspective," Vinyl offered.

Amethyst huffed. "Fine. But don't expect to be nice after you-know-what."

"We're not," Adagio replied.

The three walked inside. Upon entering, they hit the little bell above the door which ringed.

"Coming!"

Zipping around the corner was the owner of the boutique. Indigo hair, pale skin, still wearing the same studded jacket; Rarity.

"How may I--Oh!" Rarity paused. She halted right in her tracks. She didn't expect Adagio or her other two friends walking into the store. Not one bit. Not after all of the chaos that went down during The Battle Of The Bands.

The store went dead silent when she made her presence known. Rarity held her hands behind her back, and looked at them nervously. Adagio just stayed standing, looking at her with her usual friendly face. All the while, Vinyl just looked around at the clothing selections she had, and Amethyst sneered at the former punk in charge.

"So... um... h-how may I help you girls?"

Amethyst raised a brow. "What, don't have anything insulting to say, or demeaning?"

Rarity slowly shook her head.

"I find that hard to believe," Amethyst retorted.

"Darling, if I was going to scare away customers and business, I would have done so by now," Rarity quivered.

Amethyst observed Rarity's look. Those eyes that were shrunk to a pulp, and those whimpering lips. She did indeed look a little scared to be in the same room with them. Then again, she had a weaponized siren standing there who was the main thing who kept her out of jail and who was the thing that defeated her and her Rainboom friends.

"Rarity, we aren't here to be rude or scare you to death," Adagio finally spoke up. "In fact, we're here to shop, if you don't mind?"

Rarity shook her head. "N-No, not--" Rarity cleared her throat, then straightened her hair as well as her posture for that matter. "Not at all. What may I help you find?"

Adagio glanced to Amethyst, urging her to speak with her shoulder. Amethyst just rolled her eyes, scoffing. That caused Adagio to groan and hold her head.

"I'm afraid with the girls new titles as..." Adagio looked around, to see if anyone else was listening, "superheroes, Amethyst needs a new set of clothes. She already has her shoulder pads and parachute pants kept as her superhero look, but she's looking for something else that speaks to her. Have anything retro related in here?"

Rarity tapped her foot and rubbed her chin.

"Hmm... I believe I just might have the thing!" Rarity beamed. "One moment, darlings!"

Rarity zipped away in a flash, and came back in a milli-second later with a bunch of clothes hanging on a rack.

"I made a collection in one of my lines to fit into certain decades and time frames for costumes, as well as, well, fashion wear of choice, really."

Amethyst's eyes gazed at the variety of clothes she had on the rack. Different sets of pants, shirts, shoes, jackets, everything under the sun was in there!

"Hmm... I don't know, maybe we should--"

"Oh, darling, please, just allow me, I know just what will fit for you! Please?" Rarity asked.

Amethyst raised a brow. "Yeah, here's the thing Rarity. One, how are you going to know about anything that fits my style, two, I don't trust you, three, oh yeah, you got me expelled!"

"Amethyst," Adagio sternly spoke.

"No, no, its alright. Darling, Amy, if I may..." Rarity sighed, taking a deep breath. "I understand completely, and what we all did to you was unacceptable. I wouldn't blame you for not trusting me, but I really want to help here. Finding the right choice of fashion is my calling card. Please? Just this once?"

Amethyst looked to Vinyl and Adagio who nodded at her. She wanted to say no. But, she didn't. She couldn't see how, but she could see Rarity was genuinely trying to be nice. Sort of. She didn't act rude, or nasty towards her. But then again, if she was, she would have lost a customer.

The retro-loving girl groaned, holding her head and looked Rarity dead in the eye.

"Fine, I'll let you. But if you so much as say one bad thing to my face, or do something to ruin my look..."

"I understand," Rarity nodded quickly.

Once Amethyst had opened up, Rarity started throwing clothes off the rack, trying to see what was there.

"No, no, no... not that one... oh, too small... very severe..."

Amethyst watched as several clothes flew right past her. A few of them hitting Adagio in the crossfire.

"Oh, wait!" Rarity shouted.

She pulled out a pair of denim short jeans that look like they were longer but had the longer legs cut off.

"How about these darling? They're short, so its a perfect wear for the nice warm weather, plus, the old and ragged style should pull out your refined tastes; older, but fashionable."

Amethyst accepted the pair from Rarity, taking another look at them.

"Hmm... I suppose this could probably fit."

"And how about this?"

Rarity tossed her a short sleeved studded leather jacket, which she caught just in time.

"I designed it for a customer before, but for some reason she changed her mind and said that studded jackets were just 'oh so last minute ago'. Rather rude, given the time I spent on trying to make it for her but," Rarity complained, "But I do think this fits your style."

Amethyst nodded, looking at the jacket as a whole.

"So? What do you think?" Adagio asked.

Amethyst looked in the mirror in front of her. She held the jacket up to her chest, trying to picture herself wearing it.

"Show me more."

After some time, Amethyst went to try on the new clothes in one of the changing rooms. All the while, Rarity stayed outside with Adagio and Vinyl.

"I must say Rarity, I am rather impressed."

"With what, darling?" Rarity asked, rubbing her arm.

"Well, with how you're acting right now. Not bitter, not enraged, you aren't doing anything to provoke Amethyst... rather considerate, albeit odd..."

"W-What do you mean?" Rarity tilted her head.

"Last time we met, you were bitter, greedy, very mad like your associates, and you weren't happy to be in the same room with us. Did someone put something in your food?"

"N-No, darling, no one did a thing."

"Then how come you're actually trying to be nice?" Vinyl asked. "Key word being 'try'."

"Well, darling, as I've already said, I'll lose customers if I talk back. Being rude to those who pay you isn't a smart business practice after all," Rarity explained. "But, mostly its because I'm rather calm today, and nothing really chaotic is going on."

Adagio and Vinyl looked at Rarity with raised brows.

"Well... okay... hopefully you haven't done anything bad," Vinyl replied, hesitantly.

"Hey girls! I think I'm good! Wanna see?"

"Yeah!"

Amethyst finally stepped out of the changing room, strutting her stuff as she walked. There she was, dressed in new attire. She still wore the same running sneakers, but the rest of her look had been changed. Denim short jeans with a belt buckle that held her diamond graphic, a neon blue tank top underneath the short sleeved black studded jacket. Lastly, on her hands were her same fingerless gloves.

"Lookin' good, Shatterstar," Adagio winked.

"Thanks!" Amethyst grinned. She checked herself out in the mirror, looking at her new look from all angles. "I gotta hand it to you Rarity. You're not... you're not as awful as we've seen."

"Oh, w--"

"--Still doesn't change the fact that you've got a lot to do to make up for what you did," Amethyst said before she could finish.

"No, no, I understand. But still, I am rather glad I was able to assist you girls."

"So, are you good then?"

"Yes. So, we better pay, and--"

"Actually... its on the house," Rarity piped up.

"But, shouldn't we pay?" Adagio asked.

"No, no. Its on the house. I've been meaning to get rid of some of that old items for a while, and I'm just happy to get it off my hands."

"Well. Thanks Rarity. Very generous of you," Amethyst observed.

"Oh, its nothing, really. I'm just glad I've found something that fits you! And, maybe... as a chance for us to start over?" Rarity asked, offering a hand with a nervous smile.

Adagio and Vinyl winked at Amethyst as they stepped away. "We'll meet you outside."

Amethyst looked back to the owner, with a sly smirk.

"I suppose I could, maybe try to start anew..."

"R-Really?"

"Yeah, maybe..."

Amethyst slowly moved her hand out, like she was about to shake her hand. But just before she even did, her other hand clicked the play button on her media player which blasted out a tune.

Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you!

Rarity blinked in confusion. Right at that moment, Amethyst started to randomly dance to the song, and then immediately skipped out of the store without another word. She raised a hand up, but no voice emitted. What could she even say? What the heck did she just watch before her?

But Amethyst came running back again, and to her surprise, actually shook her open hand, still smirking.

"Pleasure doing business with ya!"

And Amy skipped out of the store again.

Rarity just twitched her eyes with a confused look.

"Um... its, no problem..."
