Author's Notes:

Some beach fluff! Enjoy!

If you asked what people loved about Canterlot, you would receive a wide range of responses. Some would say the schools like Canterlot High or Crystal Prep Academy. Some would say the wide variety of activities or the residents living there. But then there would be a collective sum who would say that the Canterlot Beach was why people loved this big city.

The Canterlot Beach was one of the biggest hot spots you would ever find! Practically everyone in the city would go there, especially during the summer time. It covered a vast amount of land so you could always find a place to lay down. Plenty of food trucks so you could get a hot or cold snack, depending on your preference. And best of all, there were some amazing hills with cliffs so you could gaze far across the sea to where the sun would set. It was nothing short of pure heaven.

Not to mention, plenty of parking spaces. And parking into a spot, was an SUV. Stepping out of the SUV, were the new popular girls at CHS: The Song Of The Sea, or who everyone referred to as 'the heroes'. Having saved their world with the help of the Sirens from world domination, they had been receiving tons of popularity. And with that popularity came appreciation, friendliness, and tons of admiration.

Amethyst's nose scrunched up, and she sniffed the soft blow of the wind. The salt of the sea, hitting her nose.

"Ahh... I love the smell of the beach in the morning," Amethyst sighed, stretching her arms out.

"You said it," Octavia smirked.

Everyone took a deep breath, accompanied by a relaxing sigh, already feeling better once they were hit with the breeze of the sea. As they stepped out of the car, everyone grabbed their belongings and walked down the steps towards the hot sand.

"Too bad Trixie isn't here," Vinyl said out loud.

As the girls walked towards the right side of the beach, they found the spot where Aria and Sonata had already set up their things. Which to them meant they found their spot.

"No, she's here. But she's keeping her eye out for Adagio. Said she needed to change into her swimsuit," Bon Bon said, setting up some of the beach chairs.

Lyra giggled. "Yeah, sure she is..."

Octavia felt a little smirk creep up on her lips. "How much you want to bet that girl gets a heart attack once Adagio steps out in a swim suit?"

"We're already calling it at this point," Vinyl rolled her eyes, chuckling. "That girl gets flustered every time Adagio does something remotely suggestive or flirtatious."

"Yeah... well, maybe they'll join up later. Until then, we've got plenty of time!" Bon Bon raised her arms up.

As everyone parked their stuff down next to some already set up blankets and chairs, the girls gazed directly across the water. They could hear the sounds of it crashing against the sand, the sound of seagulls talking above.

"Wonder where Aria and Sonata went," Bon Bon asked, raising a brow.

"Maybe they're checking up on their secret treasure cave or something," Lyra shrugged, applying some sunscreen onto her legs.

As the girls were finishing the applications of their sun protection, Vinyl pulled out an already inflated beach ball that she brought with them on the trip. She bounced it with her knee, making it juggle between her knees as she tried to keep it up in the air.

"Hey, I didn't know you were into beach ball," Amethyst grinned.

"Well, not really... I'm more into playing catch, if I can be honest. Not really the most talented when it comes to sports, I'm afraid," Vinyl bashfully replied.

"Its alright. No biggie. Now, lets see... Octavia, do you mind helping me set up the volleyball court?"

"Right!"

Octavia and Amethyst skipped away from their spot to go back to the car to get their things. As they left, Lyra just laid back on her chair, gazing into the sea.

"Hmm... I don't know about you, but I think I'll sit in the water for a little bit." Vinyl said, removing her shorts and shirt, revealing her swimsuit underneath.

"Go on ahead. We'll just be relaxing here," Bon Bon said, waving her off.

Vinyl's feet dug into the sand as she walked towards the water. She set the beach ball down, so she could brush her hair back, trying to keep it out of her eyes for the time being. Picking it back up, she walked towards the water, feeling the nice water hit her feet. Walking some more, she felt the water rise up some more and more until it reached her stomach. She turned her head and watched as some other students from CHS enjoyed some fun, playing catch with one another and throwing some balls over an inflated court.

Looking ahead, she saw some bubbles popping above the water. It didn't really surprise her, as she could imagine someone was probably snorkeling underneath. But the bubbles grew a bit more rapid, increasingly so. Taking precaution, she slowly backed away just in case. But wait. The light from the sun reflected against the crystal clear water. She could see who was underneath that water, making the bubbles. And it only made her smile, rolling her eyes.

Pecking her head out of the water was one of the Dazzlings, Sonata. Only she didn't rise up, looking like the other bipeds on the beach. Instead she rose up in the form of her gigantic siren form which towered over Vinyl.

"Well. Hello Sonata," Vinyl giggled, looking at the cute smile on the seapony's face.

Sonata giggled, some soft sounds escaping her lips.

"I take it you're enjoying yourself?"

Sonata nodded.

"I thought so."

Sonata giggled, clapping her front hooves together as she threw her body back into the sea to distance herself from Vinyl, trying to provide some space. As fun as it was to splash around in the water, she knew Vinyl valued her space.

"Hey Sonata?" Vinyl asked.

Sonata's ear twitched, hearing her call. And she flipped her body around, so she was looking at her upside down, showing the red gem on her chest.

"Would you be interested in playing catch?"

The blue siren purred, a grin and nod along with it.

"Well okay then!"

Vinyl took a few steps back, holding the beach ball as high as she could, ready to throw. With her arms winded back, she threw it as high as she could towards the giant seapony. Sonata moved just in time and bounced it back with just the tip of her nose. The ball came right back, and Vinyl almost managed to catch it except it landed in front of her, splashing water against her.

"Heh, nice throw!"

Sonata giggle again, clapping her front hooves together. Vinyl grabbed the beach ball again, throwing it harder this time. Sonata bounced it with her nose again, and this time Vinyl managed to catch it. And as soon as she grippe it, she threw it again, with a bounce on the nose and back again.

As Vinyl kept playing catch with Sonata, Amethyst and Octavia finished setting up the volleyball court.

"Hey girls!"

Walking down the beach was none other than Aria Blaze with a much more sunny and cheerful mood.

"Oy, Blaze! Good to see ya!" Octavia grinned.

"Good to see you too, Octavia," Aria chuckled. She crossed her arms as she watched Sonata play catch with Vinyl. "Looks like Sonata's found someone to play with."

"Us too!"

Aria turned her head just in time to catch the volleyball being thrown at her.

"Care to play a match, Blaze?"

Aria grinned. "You bet."

"Then lets play," Octavia replied, sticking her tongue out.

Amethyst who stood on the side, pressed play on a radio which began playing some adrenaline based tunes for them to listen to while they played. Amethyst stood next to Octavia, ready to play. And it wasn't long until Lyra skipped along and joined Aria's side, providing equal balance.

Amethyst threw the first shot, the ball heading first to Aria's court. Jumping up with a perfect hit, she threw it back into the other side. Octavia was next to act as she blocked it, striking it above the net before it could hit the sand. Lyra acted on instinct, springing like a gazelle and hitting the volleyball with her head.

"Nice shot, Heartstrings!"

"Arigato!"

Octavia striked again, hitting it again which hit the sand behind Aria and Lyra.

"Score 1!'

Aria gave Octavia a mischievous grin. "Just wait, Lyra and I will even the score..."

While the day kept on going, and everyone just enjoyed some time, relaxing, playing some games, Bon Bon whipped out a grille and had been cooking some hot food. Burger meat and hot dogs sizzled on the grill. She flipped the patties around, throwing them around and striking every spot that hadn't been cooked.

Bon Bon sniffed and smiled. "Cooked to perfection. Hey girls! Want some food?"

All of them cheered a big 'Yes!'

"Then get it while it's hot!"

The girls at the volleyball court stopped throwing the volleyball around, setting it on the ground. And Amethyst hit the stop button on the radio. Hearing Bon Bon's call, and the smell of the food. Sonata and Vinyl stopped playing and looked to the source. Both were grinning when they smelled the hot sizzling meat.

"Maybe we can--Whoa!"

Sonata dipped under Vinyl, lifting her up into the air and carrying her on her face. She waddled towards the front of the beach, slowly raising her neck down so Vinyl could slide off her face.

The violinist giggled. "Well, that's one way to carry someone."

Sonata could only smile and she moved her snout right up to Vinyl, trying to nuzzle her. Vinyl could tell what her intent was, and so she moved her arms up on the siren's face, hugging her back. She patted her nose, hearing her purring. Then looking down, she could see the red gem glowing.

"Avert your eyes, everyone!"

Everyone covered their eyes, preparing themselves for the incoming flash of light. It was only for a brief second, and then it was gone.

"So, what's for lunch?" Sonata smiled.

"Hey!"

From another side of the beach, they saw the last two girls of their group coming towards them; Adagio and Trixie.

"About time, where were you girls?"

"Oh, you know..." Trixie shrugged with a small blush.

"Just wanted some girlfriend time alone, that's all," Adagio wrapped her arm around her, hugging her and nuzzling her cheek.

"Well if you lovebirds want food, then I suggest you get it while its hot," Bon Bon said, flipping another patty.

"Of course!"

Everyone was now gathered in their own chairs, enjoying the nice hot burgers and hot dogs, all the while the waves crashed against the beach. Anyone who walked by their group could see they were nothing but happy. Just a nice relaxing day was all they wanted, and it was all they could ask for.

"Now this is how I wanted to spend my Saturday," Adagio sighed, rolling down in her chair. "And best of all... I've got my friends, my family, and my lover all with me. And I can tell you all with 100% honesty, I wouldn't trade it for anything."

Trixie looked at her girlfriend, a heartfelt smile on her face. She leaned her head on her shoulder, making Adagio giggle.

"You two are adorable," Vinyl cooed.

Trixie's face went red. "N-No, we're not..."

"Well I do, and I find you the most adorable," Adagio smiled, kissing her cheek.

"Dagi..."

"You're cute and you know it." Adagio booped her nose, making her giggle.

"So... what exactly have you two been doing all this time?" Lyra asked, sipping her drink.

"Nothing really. We told you, just wanted some girlfriend time," Adagio replied, shrugging.

Aria and Sonata's faces were giving racy expressions to Adagio. Their eyebrows wiggled, making their oldest sister roll her eyes.

"Not that kind of girlfriend time!"

"Sure, Adagio..." Aria snickered.

"I swear, it wasn't like that."

"Maybe... maybe not yet," Sonata chuckled.

"I never understood how you three survived all these years," Amethyst shook her head. "How do you not want to turn a hose on them?"

"Because they're family and I love them. Even if they do try and do anything they can to tease me."

"Not to mention, we literally cannot die!" Aria laughed.

Adagio glared at Aria with a scowl. "You know, I brought plenty of water guns with me on the way here. I'm not above using them on you."

"Then why don't you do it then?" Sonata teased, putting her hands on her hips.

Adagio slapped her forehead, stood up, and stomped away.

"Is she going to get the water guns?"

"No Trixie, she's going to get wine bottles so we can all get drunk and sing 'Kumbaya'," Amethyst deadpanned.

Sonata and Aria just rolled their eyes, both sisters completely unfazed or even worried. They had all the confidence in the world that Adagio wouldn't come back.

"Please, I really don't think-oh, oh no..." Sonata said, looking at the angry orange haired girl stomping towards them.

"She's not-oh that's bad..."

"Aria, looking into her eyes is like looking into the eyes of a rabid dog or raging bull. Just ignore all thoughts and run for it!"

Both sisters ran from the spot, and it wasn't long til Adagio ran right past their group with a water gun.

"Get back here!"

The bandmates laughed, watching the enraged siren chase after her younger siblings.

"And its reasons like that that make me glad I'm an only child," Lyra commented.

"Me too."

"Same here."

The two siblings ran past the girls, laughing hysterically as Adagio still kept chasing them.

"Hey, uh, Adagio? Maybe tomorrow, we could work on studying for that math quiz that's on Friday?" Trixie called out to the rampaging girl.

Like if time had frozen, Adagio stopped in her run and looked at Trixie perfectly calm and cheerfully. "Oh, of course. I would appreciate it." And like a flick of a switch, she turned back into rage mode and chased her sisters again.

All six of their heads turned to watch them chase each other nonstop.

"Maybe I should--"

"No, don't." Vinyl said, Trixie sitting back down. "They'll wear each other out eventually."

Trixie shrugged and went back to eating her food, swallowing a piece of her burger.

"So Trixie... are you and Adagio going to--"

"I really don't want to talk about that, please!" Trixie interrupted, her face turning red again.

"... I was gonna ask if you were going to take her out to an aquarium for a date."
