Sorry this took so long guys! I've been busy for the past few days, so I tried to work on this as best as I could. Anyways, hope you enjoy it! Hope this was worth the wait!
This was to add on to a chapter from another Shattered story; The Game which IS NOT REQUIRED A READ. Making it clear, you don't have to read it.
Special thanks to Scholarly-Cimmerian for the suggestions!
Saturday, 9:00 AM
It was another beautiful morning in Canterlot. Everyone was waking up, getting their daily breakfast, and readying themselves for a glorious weekend. The two days were ahead of them, they could do anything! And of course, free time! Now not everyone got free time, as there were some who had jobs on the weekends, but a good majority of them didn't mind. Some were quite satisfied with the jobs they had to do. Especially when the jobs were a ton of fun!
As for the Song Of The Sea and their friends, they just kept living their lives as normally and peacefully as they could. Well, what with the circumstances. The attention they received from their fights on the final battle of the bands had carried to the news. While they weren't identifiable by the public eye (thank goodness), they were claimed as superheroes by news stations and reports.
And this bright and at em, was Octavia. Always for her, she got up early. For some reason, she found herself much more beaming if she got up at an earlier start. Well with the help of some Mr. Coffee of course. She found herself browsing over in a music store, looking for any new CDs or albums. As a heavy metal lover, she always wanted to find the best heavy music.
"Got it, got it, got it, got it... got that... Forget that noise... Oooh!" Octavia pulled out a CD from the rack. "Octavia likey..."
But before she could even walk to the front desk to pay--
"Hands where I can see them!"
An angry looking man with a revolver, pointed the weapon towards the man behind the desk who raised his hands up to surrender.
"Hey, hey... easy now..."
"Let me make this clear. Empty that cash-register, or all of those guitars back there are going to get a new paint job."
Octavia sneered as she hid behind one of the stands, behind a wooden door that held the collection of CDs.
"I don't think so, mate. Its hero time..." Octavia growled, pulling up a small black mask hanging around her neck and covering her nose and mouth.
The man behind the desk hesitantly pulled money out of the cash register, obediently piling it up so the robber could take them. The robber was so focused on the man, he didn't even look behind him to see the girl moving from shelf to shelf, about to take him out.
He felt a small tap on his shoulder. As he turned around, he fell to the ground flat. The only thing he saw coming towards him was an electric guitar which banged his face hard, knocking him to the ground. He groaned, feeling the pain. But as he tried to get back up, he only received more pain as a giant speaker was dropped on his head, falling onto the side. The man just slumped his head back down, unable to get back up.
The manager sighed in relief, holding his intensely beating heart.
"Oh, thank you, thank you ma'am!" The manager cheered.
Octavia winked, smirking under the mask.
"I-Is there anything I can do to repay you?"
Octavia chuckled. "Mate, you don't need to repay me. I'm just here to serve and protect," Octavia saluted. "Oh, and actually, I did want to pay for this..."
She slapped some dollar bills onto the counter, paying for the CD. With a wink, she walked towards the front door, ready to leave.
"Just call the police, and make sure that Yank doesn't slag you off again!"
"B-But wait, I don't even know who you are! Who are you?"
Octavia turned her head slightly, giving him a view of her purple sunken-in eyes.
"The Rockstar is the only name I go by."
With a wave goodbye, the girl rushed off, leaving him with the knocked out robber. He just shrugged and nodded, impressed with the display. Left with only one question; how did he not see her in the store?
9:30
The Supaishīna Yorokobi restaurant was a very successful Japanese restaurant downtown. They served all kinds of exotic dishes and meals, including just regular dishes you would find in America. Not only that, but the restaurant was a reminder of the life that Lyra Heartstrings had back home, which only made her love it more.
She herself had a busy day planned today, along with a partner she had for a project at school; Drama Letter. And the two of them were spending their morning at the very restaurant eating breakfast. Drama Letter had some toast with butter, and ham and eggs. Lyra however had a more exotic meal; miso soup, rice, onsen tamago, and a grilled fish.
"So remind me again, what do we need to do today?" Drama asked, sipping some of her orange juice.
Lyra gulped down a piece of fish, and wiped her chin.
"Well... We need to head the Memorial Park. Have to take photos of all the statues and memorials. And if we can, we need to visit the old Town Hall and take 10 pictures."
Drama Letter just nodded, eating another piece of toast.
"I see."
Lyra sipped some of her milk, and set her cup down. She looked around, seeing all of the patrons who calmly eating their meals. A very nice and calm atmosphere, with virtually no--
"Hey, let go!"
Lyra turned her head to the source of the voice. Around the corner, she could see a masked woman trying to steal a purse away from one of the patrons.
"Give it, now!"
"Its not yours!"
Lyra sneered. "Excuse me for a second."
"Hero time?"
"Hero time."
"Of course," Drama Letter nonchalantly replied, eating another piece of her breakfast.
Lyra stood up, running for the restroom. Drama Letter watched as she zipped faster than she could even say a thing to her. Then she diverted her attention back to the chaos continuing to ensue.
"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave the restaurant, right now," A manager sneered, about to stand in.
The snatcher just swung a fist around, knocking the manager's face down to the ground. But as he finally yanked the purse out of the woman's hand, he felt his body get kicked and onto the ground. Rolling on his back, he looked above to see a girl in a skin-tight green, gold, and black colored ninja outfit, staring down at him. The pair of yellow eyes furled as she stared down at him.
A katana blade was drawn and pointed towards the man's face.
"Josei no saifu o tewatasu... Soshite hanareru."
The man blinked, confused. Lyra rolled her eyes, groaning in annoyance.
"Allow me to make this clear, Sā. You're going to give that woman's purse back, then you're going to get up and leave. And if you come back here again... I will find you."
The man gulped and threw the purse on the ground which hit the woman's legs, right up to her feet.
"Good. Now get up."
The man got up, backing away from the sharp blade that kept moving towards him.
"Now leave and never return."
The man ran without question, and Lyra drew her sword away behind her back again. But what surprised her next was the people inside. Everyone all at once started clapping and cheering, applauding Lyra's act.
A small blush hit her cheeks under the mask as she looked to everyone, but friendly nonetheless. The woman who got her purse back walked towards Lyra with a thankful expression.
"Thank you, Miss. Really, thank you."
Lyra cupped her hands and performed a small bow, acknowledging her kindness.
"Who are you?"
Lyra's eyes blinked and she squinted as she looked to the woman's face.
"Watashi wa... Gurīn ninjadesu!"
Lyra grabbed a small smoke bomb, throwing it into the ground, creating a big cloud of smoke. The woman coughed as she tried to get clear of the smoke. But once it cleared away, the ninja before her eyes had disappeared. No one saw her. No one could see where she went, and not one patron saw her.
Shrugging, everyone just went back to their breakfast, with the woman dumb-founded. Where did she even come from?
And out the restroom, came Lyra walking back in her natural kimono.
"Excuse me," Lyra said, passing by the woman. She sat back at the booth where she and Drama Letter were sitting, and took a sip of her drink. "Now, what were we talking about?"
"We still need to get some pictures of the old Town Hall," Drama Letter replied.
"Oh yeah," Lyra nodded. "So I was thinking maybe we could take some pictures of old Gumshoe, and then maybe after..."
10:30 AM
A little boy ran down a street as fast as he could. For right behind him were a pack of some older kids who had been picking on him. And he was trying his best to stay far away from them as he could.
The run took him downtown, farther away from the boys. Until he made a left turn and halted right up at a big brick wall. Now he was cornered, like a rat in a maze. No way to escape, he was trapped now. He turned around and shivered as the boys came closer.
"Got nowhere left to go, nerd!"
"Back off. Now."
The boys looked around, looking for the source of the call; when right out of nowhere, a girl in a classy looking outfit jumped from one of the walls, landing on her heels on the ground. She picked herself back up and stared down at the bullies. A purple visor hiding her eyes, was enough to conceal her identity from them.
"Why are you chasing him down?"
"Cause, he... well... wait, who are you!?"
"That is none of your business. Why were you chasing him?"
"Uh, we... he... he's a nerd!"
Vinyl raised a brow under the visor, but gave a deadpan look. "So you literally have no reason to chase him."
Another kid shrugged, "Yeah, pretty much."
"Stack!"
"I'm being honest!"
Vinyl took a single step forward, standing her ground. She stood between the child, and the older kids.
"Leave this young one alone, now."
"What are you going to do about it!?" One of the boys yelled, trying to sound intimidating. Of course, it was made clear he was afraid of Vinyl.
Vinyl smirked, and she moved her wrist up. On her wrist looked like a small tech device, to which, she pressed a few random buttons.
"Tell me something boys. Did any of you ever see the news about the three-headed monster?"
A few of them exchanged some nods, still not saying a thing and whimpering in fear.
"Then I think you may like to know that the creature you saw... is our friend."
The wall behind them received a soft thud. Followed by another thud. And another one, only this time some bricks breaking apart. More started to come down from the amount of smashing and slamming. And even though they were solid, the sounds of growling could be heard from behind the broken walls.
"Run, run!"
The older boys high-tailed and ran the other way, running as far as they could from Vinyl and the younger child. Once they had departed, Vinyl turned around to look towards the little boy with a sympathetic face. She bent down so she could look him in the eye and offered a friendly face.
"Hey, you alright?"
The 7-year-old nodded.
"You know those guys?"
"Sometimes they make fun of me..."
Vinyl nodded, listening.
"They said I'm a loser for liking you guys," The child frowned, looking away.
Vinyl frowned as well, but she felt herself smiling again. She turned his head to look at her, to which a warm face was given.
"Don't listen to those guys. You can like whatever you want, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Okay?" Vinyl smiled.
The child smiled, making Vinyl beam inside. She ruffled up his hair, making him giggle a bit.
"Come on, lets get you home."
The child smiled and stood close with Vinyl, and the two of them walked out of the alleyway.
"What's your name?" Vinyl asked.
"Wheelie. What's your name?"
"I'm... I'm Class Act."
From the other side of the wall, a pair of purple eyes watched, along with some light showing on the blue scales on the skin. The siren on the other side purred, watching Vinyl and Wheelie walk away with no problems.
One Minute Later Elsewhere
Bon Bon was standing over at a check-out counter, getting ready to purchase her baking supplies for the day. Her parents ran a bakery, and she took over it when she wasn't in school and in need of some work hours to apply for college. And as part of her job, she had to go out and buy all of the baking products she needed.
"Alright, that'll be $55.84," the man at the cashier replied.
Bon Bon stood, and dug through her wallet, pulling out all of the money she needed to pay.
"Thank you, and have a great day ma'am," the man replied.
Bon Bon smiled, beginning to grab her things from the checkout line. On one of the walls, there was a woman who was stacking things up on a shelf that was high above, almost touching the ceiling. She had a ladder to stand on, thankfully, but unfortunately, the balance on it was less than secure.
But as the woman reached to the top of the shelf, to reach something in the back, the ladder started to wobble and shake.
"Oh, oh, oh no..." The woman gasped.
Bon Bon turned her head and looked. The woman's grip let go and she lost all control. She fell off from the ladder about to hit the hard concrete floor. Moving just in time, she jumped and caught her right in her arms, saving her from the fall. And upon saving her from the fall, she fell onto the ground, crushed under the weight of the woman's body.
"OW!" Bon Bon groaned as she fell on her back.
The woman's heart pounded against her chest and she got off of the teenage girl she used as a trampoline.
"Y-You... you saved me..."
Bon Bon moaned as she got up, clutching her chest. "And you broke my ribs..." She groaned as she got up, trying to gather all of her strength again.
"But you saved me..." The intern swooped up and gave her a hug. A very big hug.
"You're crushing my ribs again!"
She let go, and Bon Bon struggled to reach her groceries like she had no way to bend her arms and legs. They were stiff, and she struggled to try and walk out the door. She was exaggerating from the pain, as she didn't have any ribs actually crushed internally, but trying to recompose herself was a challenge for her.
"W-Wait! What's your name?"
Bon Bon stopped, and raised a hand up, not even looking.
"The Bake... the Bake-agh, ow..." Bon Bon said, feeling a bone crack, trying to stretch. "THE BAKER-OW!!!"
The sounds of firetrucks pierced the skies as they raced through the suburbs. Screeching around the corner, they all rammed up onto the blocks in front of a three story house which was ablaze. Flames were spreading all around, and were about to drape the entirety of the once nice yellow color. A husband and wife were outside of the house, along with a handful of police officers.
As the firemen started to attack the house with water, the woman struggled to get past the two police officers who were blocking her attempt to get inside.
"Ma'am, you can't go in!"
"Officers, please, my baby is in there!" The woman cried.
"That fire is blazing out of control, we can't just let you go running in and risk you getting harmed in the process!"
"But I--"
"Wait, look!"
Everyone's attention was towards one of the rooms at the top of the floor. They couldn't make it out, but it did look like there was someone inside. Someone who didn't resemble any of the firemen or police officers. All they could see was what looked like a teenage girl with a mullet hairstyle, neon blue visors, and purple skin. Who was she? Why was she in there? How did she even make it in there!?
But wait. They watched as she got closer to the window. Her foot bashed through the windows, breaking the glass pane and kicking them wide open. As she got out and onto the roof, everyone could see that in one of her arms there was a giant piece of cloth that was wrapped together. The woman and husband gasped. Could it really be? Was it really?
The girl carefully slid down the roof, going above the drainage pipe. Carefully, she jumped down and landed on her feet, making her groan. The first officer approached her, but she raised her hand up, getting them to stop.
"Really... really dumb idea!" She yelled. "Jumping from a high roof... really bad on your feet!"
The officers carefully helped her get far from the burning house as more of the firemen took care of the flames. Once the girl's strength started to come back, she slowly walked towards the husband and wife with a warm smile.
"I believe this child belongs to you?"
The happiest of grins were on their faces as the girl handed their baby over to them. Their child was safe, and back with them.
"My baby," The wife cried, holding her baby close. "H-How could we ever repay you?"
Amethyst smirked and winked under the visor. "Just doing my job, ma'am."
She limped from the jump, slowly walking away from the fire. The husband and wife watched as she began to walk away, but a light-bulb switched in the husband's head.
"Wait a minute... I know you! I saw you the news, the one with that giant raging she-demon thing... you're one of those superhero girls, aren't you?"
Amethyst stopped and turned her head. "Yes. Yes I am."
"W-Well, who are you?"
Amethyst smirked. "Retro Girl."
And turning her head, she walked away, leaving the family to reconcile and calm down now that they were all back together again. And a smile stayed on Amethyst's face as she walked from the happy family.
On another side of town, some construction workers set up a few roadblocks and barricades around a big part in the road. As far as the eye could see there wasn't a thing to be concerned or worried about. But there was some enormous chunks and cracks filled up which anyone who flew above the city could see. The creation of a sinkhole was about to unfold.
"Alright, under no circumstance should any cars or vehicles cross into this area!" The foremen yelled.
"Uh sir? What about that public bus coming straight for us?"
Just down the street, a public bus could be seen coming. They planned to just drive around the construction barricades. But...
"Hey, wait!" The foremen yelled, trying to wave towards the bus that was driving. "Stop! There's a sinkhole! Stop!!!"
But the bus didn't stop. Even worse, the driver was distracted with how loud the people were, along with the behavior that everyone was displaying.
"IF YOU IDIOTS DON'T SHUT UP RIGHT NOW, I'M DROPPING YOU ALL OFF HERE RIGHT NOW!"
But when he turned his head, he caught a glimpse of the construction worker yelling for them to stop. Acting on instant, he slammed his foot on the break, throwing everyone who stood on the floor of the bus or into the railings. The wheels on the bus screeched and grinded against the road as the driver held his foot on the brakes. But it was too late. The foreman had to jump out of the way, and the bus rammed right through the barricades.
It didn't move far, but the bus was now halfway over the cross where the sinkhole had been marked. The driver cranked the stick shift to move back, but the ground started to shake below them. Pieces of the road fell deep into the earth, right before their eyes. And the bus was too far forward. Everyone inside screamed in terror as the bus started to go down, about to fall deep into the sinkhole and possibly into the depths of the earth, never to be seen again.
Everyone braced for the inevitable, until the sound of a roaring beast echoed through the ground. Just as the bus was about to drop, a swoop of brightly colored orange and yellow swooped over and snatched the bus just before the ground was about to crackle some more and fall deep into the earth.
The foremen looked up and gasped. A giant orange colored seapony had grabbed the bus just before it fell, using its front hooves and legs to hold it carefully and close, much like a baby. And on the back of the seapony, as far as the eye could see was a girl who appeared to be dressed in a wizard-like costume, with a blue sparkling attire, hat, and a single white mask to cover up her face.
The seapony's hooves opened up, allowing the bus to drop back down onto solid ground that wouldn't open up beneath them. Back on solid ground again, the citizens including the bus driver all rejoiced and cheered in joy.
"Thank you, whoever you are!"
"You're my hero!" A child yelled as she looked up to the mystery girl riding on the seapony.
Underneath that mask, was a smile which beamed along with the joy in Trixie's heart. She gave a single wave to the citizens below and to the foremen. Once they had finished their job, the seapony roared into the air and flew back up with Trixie holding close onto its back. The construction workers grinned as they saw them leave.
"Heroes exist after all..."
And off to the side, a few of the people standing by took some video on their camera and phones of the seapony and mystery wizard flying high into the sky.
Not only that, but news reporters got a hold of the footage to present on the news once again. And there was nothing but positive buzz for Trixie and her friends. No one outside of CHS knew, but they were perfectly okay with that. CHS had their backs, much like they had theirs.
"And so another one of these mysterious superheroes races off once again! Which leaves us all to wonder; What are they hiding... and who are they really?"
