Gohan and Rainbow Dash were helping Twilight get accustomed to her new wings.

The Mane 6 watched.

They were in Canterlot.

Twilight was struggling.

"You really gotta flap them hard!" Rainbow Dash said.

Twilight ended up flapping them too hard and flew into a tree.

"Maybe not that hard." Rainbow Dash said.

Twilight tried floating back to the ground, but failed and fell flat on her face.

"Looking good up there Princess Twilight!" Applejack said, helping Twilight back up.

"Applejack, you don't have to call me that." Twilight said.

"Why do you protest so? You've already given up wearing your crown all the time, the least you can do is embrace your new title." Rarity said.

"If other ponies want to address me that way, I suppose it's fine, but not my friends." Twilight said.

"Don't think that we're pampering you because you're a princess. We just like to call you princess because it is who you are." Gohan said, floating back down to the ground.

"Anyway... The Summer Sun celebration is only a few days away, and I'll never be able to do my part!" Twilight said.

"I don't know how to train you how to fly, that's Rainbow Dash's business. When you want to be a stronger flyer, that's where I can help." Gohan said.

"Now get up there and show everypony the big finish!" Rainbow Dash said.

Twilight nodded, and began to fly.

She already flew normally.

Her friends cheered.

Twilight was having fun until she ran into clouds.

Then she froze in the air, and started to fall down.

She flapped her wings as hard as she could, and flew back up.

Before Twilight would get into a worse situation, Gohan stopped her by holding her hoof.

"Alright, that's enough." He said.

Now everyone was in the throne room, where the stained glass were.

They were looking at the one where Twilight's coronation occurred.

"You look amazing, darling! They really captured your regality." Rarity said.

"I suppose." Twilight said.

"Oh, don't be so modest. It's everypony's dream to have a coronation and have a stained glass photo of themselves!" Rarity said.

"I don't know if it's everypony's dream." Rainbow Dash said.

"Yeah, to be honest, it's not my dream either." Gohan said.

"Most of my dreams are about frosting!" Pinkie Pie said.

"Most of my dreams are... Well, it goes from food to being a scholar." Gohan said.

"We better get going, we don't want to miss our train." Fluttershy said.

"Yep! I gotta few bushels to get for the Ponyville celebration. It may be here in Canterlot, but whooee! Does the mayor want it to be perfect back home!" Applejack said.

Twilight smiled, but then frowned.

"Don't be sad, sugarcube. You'll be up there with the princesses when Celestia raises the sun." Applejack said.

"And I'm honored. Really honored. It's just that the Summer Sun Celebration first brought us all together." Twilight said.

"Wait, it did?" Gohan asked.

"You arrived slightly after Nightmare Moon's arrival, which prevented the Summer Sun Celebration from happening." Twilight said.

"Okay, that makes sense now." Gohan said.

"It just doesn't feel right not getting to spend such an occasion with my Ponyville friends." Twilight said.

"Don't worry, it's just one celebration. Well, at least you have one friend." Gohan said.

He was chosen to be in a front row seat as an ambassador.

"It doesn't feel right to us either, darling. If the mayor wasn't so desperate for our assistance, we would certainly stay here in Canterlot. And we do understand that your royal duties must come first." Rarity said.

"The Summer Sun Celebration may have brought us together, but there's something much bigger that it'll keep us all connected." Applejack said.

She then pointed a hoof at the stained glass where the seven defeated Nightmare Moon.

"Exhibit A!" Applejack said.

"The six of us are united by Elements of Harmony. Gohan, well... He assisted us in defeating Nightmare Moon, and it was amazing. The point is, no amount of royal duties is ever going to change that." Applejack said.

"Right Everypony?" She asked.

Everyone but Pinkie Pie agreed.

"Right, Pinkie Pie?" Applejack asked.

"Gohan has armor!" Pinkie Pie said.

"That was given to me by a close friend. Yeah..." Gohan said, referring to Vegeta, and he smiled.

He tried to find a fond memory of him.

Vegeta grabbed Kid Gohan by his bowl cut hair and punched him in the face repeatedly.

"SO WHAT!? YOU THINK JUST BECAUSE YOUR FATHER'S A SUPER SAIYAN THAT YOU'RE BETTER THAN ME!?" Vegeta yelled.

"No!" Gohan sobbed.

Vegeta did it faster.

"WRONG ANSWER!" Vegeta yelled.

Gohan's smile turned into one of 'I thought it was good but now I'm having second thoughts' faces.

"Uh... Anyway. Let's go." Twilight said.

They were at the train station.

The seven were saying their temporary goodbyes.

"We're going to write you and add so many details it'll be like you're in Ponyville with us! Right girls?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." They said, doing the gestures.

"We already have plans after the Summer Sun Celebration, anyway. We already have an appointment on the book to add new upgrades to your new decor." Rarity said.

"All aboard!" The conductor called.

The seven friends all hugged, and five of them boarded the train.

They all waved goodbye as the train left.

Twilight sighed. She didn't want to experience the Summer Sun Celebration this way.

Gohan gave her a pat on the back.

"Cheer up. You have a big day ahead of you." Gohan reassured.

"It's already been a minute, and I feel like I'm missing something." Twilight said.

Then, a mailpony came.

"For the princess." He said, hoofing the letter to Spike.

"Dear Twilight, you aren't missing anything. From Pinkie Pie." Spike said.

"She's prepared for all kinds of things, isn't she?" Gohan asked.

"Yeah... But I am missing something. I just know it." Twilight said.

"Check, check, check, check, and check!" Spike said, writing checks on the checklist.

The dragon and the princess were in her private quarters.

"What do you know? We're ahead of schedule! I credit your extremely competent assistant!" Spike said.

"So do I." Twilight said.

"The celebration isn't until the day after tomorrow. We could still fit in a quick trip to Ponyville and come back to finish all these things in time for the celebration! Or we could just have Gohan fly us." Spike said.

"That would be nice, Spike. But what if something else came up? What if we were delayed getting back and we weren't able to finish everything on that list?" Twilight asked.

She began to ramble on for absurd reasons why they probably shouldn't go to Ponyville, such as randomly forgetting how to get back to Canterlot.

She was flying as she rambled, without realizing it.

Eventually she hit her head on the ceiling.

"So that's a no, then?" Spike asked.

"These are my first royal duties Princess Celestia has given me! I can't risk letting her down!" Twilight exclaimed.

"And I'm sure you won't." Celestia said.

Celestia had entered Twilight's room.

"Your highness!" Spike said, bowing.

Twilight followed.

"No need for that, now, Princess Twilight." Celestia said, getting Twilight to stand again.

"Sorry!" Twilight said.

Celestia chuckled. "No need to apologize." She said.

"Sorry!" Twilight said with a smile.

"I must admit, it is wonderful to actually be looking forward to the Summer Sun Celebration." Celestia said.

"What do you mean?" Twilight asked.

"For my subjects, it has always been a ceremony of my defeat of Nightmare Moon." Celestia said, watching Luna make the moon rise.

"But for me..." Celestia said before she sighed. "It was just a terrible reminder that I had to banish my own sister." She added.

"I guess I never really thought out it that way." Twilight said.

"And now it has become a wonderful of her transformation back into Princess Luna! And our happy reunion! I am so pleased that you will be playing a role in the festivities. I know it must be difficult to see your friends go back to Ponyville." Celestia said.

"A little..." Twilight said.

Celestia smiled at her all the while questioning her answer. "You may no longer be my student, Princess Twilight. But I hope you know that I'll always be here if you need me. Just as you would when I need you." Celestia said.

"Message for Princess Twilight!" A mailpony said.

Twilight turned around and took the letter.

It was from Pinkie Pie.

She opened it, and confetti flew everywhere.

"A letter from Ponyville, I presume?" Celestia asked all the while smiling.

"Nevermind. It's not important. Spike? Where were we?" Twilight asked.

"About calling it a night?" Spike asked.

"Let's go over the checklist one more time." Twilight said with a smile.

"I knew you were going to say that..." Spike said, pulling out the checklist.

"I'll leave you to it." Celestia said, trotting away.

Gohan was looking outside his window, at the stars.

The beautiful, beautiful stars.

Gohan just wanted to see Earth again.

But he couldn't. Nobody would welcome him anyway.

He kind of coped the fact that even his mother betrayed him, but still silently moped about it.

He could just imagine himself, being at home, with his mother.

Gohan would be studying.

"Gohan! Dinner is ready!" Chi Chi called.

"Coming!" Gohan would say, getting out of his chair.

He would sit down at the dining table.

He would gratefully eat the feast his mother would have prepped for him.

After that, it would be more studying.

If his mother was gone for groceries, he could sneak in some training, in honor of his father.

"Daydreaming, are we?" Celestia asked.

Gohan snapped out of his imagination.

"Yeah, I am." Gohan said, looking back at Celestia with a smile.

"You miss your old home, don't you?" Celestia asked.

Gohan said. "Yep." He said, looking back at the stars. "I suppose this day will just be the reminder of when I escaped death by my former friends. But it's also the reminder of when I made new friends." He added.

"I see. Have a good night." Celestia said, trotting away.

"Good night, princess." Gohan said.

Celestia was walking across the hall.

Something bad happened. Something unknown.

What is known was that a black vine did it.

Twilight slept beside her window, on top of the checklist.

She woke up to a surprise.

"Spike?" Twilight asked.

Spike was sleeptalking. "Check, check, check, check..." He said.

"Spike!" Twilight said.

Spike woke up, and stretched.

"What time is it...?" Spike asked.

"It's the middle of the night! But it could be morning... I can't tell!" Twilight said.

The two looked out the window to see... The sun and the moon up at the same time.

"Whoa, that is weird." Spike said.

"Come on, Spike. We have to find out what is going on!" Twilight said.

Suddenly, Gohan burst into the room.

"Twilight! The princesses are missing!" He exclaimed.

"The princesses are WHAAAAAAT!?" Twilight asked.

Everyone was now in the throne room with some guards.

"I don't understand! Where are they?" Twilight asked.

"We don't know. It appears Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have suddenly vanished!" One guard said.

"Vanished!" Another guard said.

"Vanished!?" Spike said before passing out.

"How could this have happened...?" Gohan muttered.

"This is why we have come to you. We await your command!" The guards said, bowing to Twilight.

"My command!?" Twilight asked.

"We are officers of the Royal Guard. We take our orders from royalty. With Princess Celestia and Princess Luna gone, and Princess Cadence overseeing the Crystal Empire now, we take our orders from you." A guard said.

Spike stood up again only to faint again.

"Princess Twilight, we must be quick. We need to know what you want us to do!" A guard said.

"I need you to continue the search for Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. We have to find them before ponies start panicking. There must be some clue as to what happened to them!" Twilight ordered.

Gohan snapped his fingers. "I have an idea!" He said.

"What is it?" Twilight asked.

"Discord could be behind this! As a prank!" Gohan said.

"That... Actually could be a cause. Guards, find Discord!" Twilight said.

"Excuse me for this, but I-I'm afraid we don't know where to find Discord..." A guard said.

"Okay. Keep up the search. If you find anything, anything at all, you must tell me!" Twilight said.

The guards saluted, trotting away.

Twilight took a deep breath.

"Nice job taking charge, eh Twilight?" Spike said, getting up again.

Suddenly, the doors burst open. Another guard came.

"Princess Twilight! News from Ponyville! It seems that the Everfree Forest is, well... Invading!" The guard said.

"What!?" Gohan asked.

Twilight gasped and Spike fainted again.

Black vines appeared all over Ponyville.

They even had giant spikes on them!

All of the ponies were panicking. Even the forest animals.

They couldn't even get rid of the vines!

They were really starting to get in the way of everyone!

Even the clouds had spikes!

Gohan flew to Ponyville as fast as he could.

He already saw Rainbow Dash being attacked by some clouds.

With lightning.

Gohan fired many ki blasts to quickly dispatch of them.

"Phew, thanks Gohan." Rainbow Dash said.

"Maybe tell me that later!" Gohan said, flying down to the ground.

The vines were already everywhere.

Then, they had developed spores which made every unicorn's magic go crazy!

Gohan began to blast the vines.

Somehow, they worked!

But they just kept coming back.

"What the heck are these things!?" Gohan shouted.

"They're coming from the Everfree Forest!" Applejack said.

"Try as we might, us earth ponies can't do anything to get rid of them!" Applejack said.

Gohan smash his fist into a treelike vine, breaking it.

"This is insane! We have to get to the Everfree Forest! Get the Elements of Harmony, and- Oh, I should have brought Twilight." Gohan said.

The rest of the Mane 6 were in the library, searching for the Elements of Harmony.

Gohan was outside, destroying as many vines as he could.

Twilight flew in, but was about to ram into her own house, so she teleported in.

Didn't really work on Spike, and he got hurled at a window.

"Oh thank goodness!" Rarity said.

"I'm so sorry we went through your books without your permission!" Fluttershy said.

Spike burst through the door.

"Ground! Ground! Sweet, sweet ground!" He said, kissing the ground.

"Okay, I get it! I need to work on my flying!" Twilight said.

"Has Princess Celestia sent you to investigate?" Rarity asked.

"Not exactly... You see, Princess Celestia is... Well... She and Princess Luna have..." Twilight said.

"GONE MISSING!" Spike exclaimed.

The rest of the Mane 6 gasped.

"I don't know who's responsible, but I do know we need the Elements of Harmony to get them back!" Twilight said, putting each Element of Harmony on each pony.

"We need to have an idea of what's happening before Equestria becomes plant food." Applejack said.

"Any ideas?" She added.

"Gohan suggested Discord... And considering the randomness, I'd say it's Discord again." Twilight said.

The Mane 6 used their Elements of Harmony to summon Discord.

Apparantly he was taking a bath.

"Winter wrap up, Winter wra- Oh!" Discord said, grabbing a small towel to cover his torso.

"Now Twilight, you know Princess Celestia said to give me a heads up before you summon me with that little spell she gave you." Discord said.

"If you haven't noticed, I was in the middle of taking an amazing shower!" Discord said, bending his body towards Twilight, and shaking it.

"Enough!" Twilight shouted, pushing Discord away.

"Free Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, and st-" "Twilight, he's not responsible!" Gohan shouted.

"And how do you know that!?" Twilight asked.

"I understand the chaotic setting, but Discord's reformed." Gohan said.

"Yeah, right!" Rainbow Dash said.

"Would he risk being turned into stone again by either me or the Elements of Harmony?" Gohan asked.

"Uh... I guess not." Rainbow Dash said.

"Please fill me in, Gohan." Discord said, slithering around Gohan.

"Well, as you can see, one of your favorite pastimes is occurring right now. Chaos. I know you love what we did with the place, but we don't know the culprit. All we know is that it's from the Everfree Forest. Now, we are going to POLITELY ask you, would you please share with us any idea about this?" Gohan asked.

"Nope, sorry. Clueless." Discord said.

"Alright." Gohan said.

"Now hold on a second! He could be lying for all we know!" Applejack said.

"Would I ever lie to you?" Discord asked with puppy dog eyes.

"Yes!" Five of the Mane 6 shouted.

"Um... Maybe?" Fluttershy said.

"Well, it seems we're at an impasse. I'm telling the truth and you think I'm lying. What do friends do in a situation like this, Princess Twilight?" Discord asked, poking Twilight's crown.

"Congrats, by the way, on the promotion you TOTALLY deserve it!" Discord said, wrapping his lion's arm around Twilight.

"I say we BLAST him back to stone!" Rainbow Dash said.

"I say we DON'T blast him to stone, and that we use him as help!" Gohan said.

"Yeah, we can't do that!" Fluttershy said.

"This is truly amazing! I almost killed this fellow, yet he's defending me." Discord said, pointing at Gohan.

"I already forgave you for annoying me with those awful clones. Anyway, blasting him to stone will definitely do nothing but waste our time, and/or lose help!" Gohan said.

"How?" The Mane 6 asked.

"Discord possesses powerful magic. What do you mean 'How!?'!?" Gohan asked.

"Besides, what if he really IS telling the truth?" Fluttershy asked.

Discord had a halo appear above him.

"The rest of you can learn a lesson from my dear friends Shutterfly and Han Solo." Discord said.

"Uh... It's Fluttershy." Fluttershy said.

"And Gohan...?" Gohan asked.

"Oh right. Fluttershy and Gohan." Discord said, bringing the two in for a group hug.

"So, will you help us investigate?" Gohan asked.

"I suppose I could," Discord said, dropping the two and crossing his arms. "But after all the hoof pointing and besmirching my good name, I just don't know if I should do it!" Discord said, pulling out knitting needles and knitting the vines.

"Why don't you ask your zebra friend?" Discord asked.

"Alright, I'm just going to go in the Everfree Forest and destroy the source. This is driving me crazy." Gohan said, flying away.

"Wait!" Twilight said.

But he already left.

Zecora appeared, dragging her belongings with her.
