Pinkie Pie Chugs An Energy Drink
Chapter 2: Hyperactive Mare On The Loose
Previous Chapter Next ChapterPinkie Pie was racing here and there about Ponyville's streets, getting concerned stares from the town's equine residents. With this much energy, the entire world seemed open to her. But what should she do first?! Throw biggest, loudest and craziest party ever?! Deck out all of Ponyville in her image?! ...or maybe just visit her friends first and say hi.
She decided to visit Twilight Sparkle first, the princess of friendship. She was on the crystalline palace's doorstep in mere moments, rapidly banging on its doors with her front hooves. "Twilight! Twiliiiiight! TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT TWILIGHT TWILIGHT!!! OPEN UP TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT!"
This continued for a few minutes, until one of the doors finally opened. Pinkie took a deep breath, ready to shout all sorts of things at her purple furred friend, but stopped short when she saw that Spike was the one who opened the door.
"Hey Pinkie what-"
"SPIKE!"
"Uh yes?"
"WHERE'S TWILIGHT! I REALLY, REALLY GOTTA TALK TO HER!"
"She's right inside but-"
"THANKS SPIKE YOU'RE THE BEST!"
She ran right in, running over poor little Spike a steamroller. "Pinkie wait! You might not want to talk to her right now! Come back!" Too late. Pinkie was either too hyper or far away to listen (or both), and the thundering of her energetic hoofbeats seemed to shake the castle's huge hallways.
"TWLIGHT!" She got to Twilight's bedroom door and rapped on it in the same manner she did with the entrance, from within the room there was a sharp gasp followed by a crash. Twilight opened the door, looking annoyed. "Pinkie... I was practicing a spell, and when you startled me it kind of... blew up in my face. Literally."
Twilight's facial expression went from irritation to concern when saw that Pinkie's pupils were tiny, and her mane and tail were vibrating along with her body like one of those coin operated recliners at the spa. This was a bit much, even for her. "Pinkie Pie are you okay?"
"I'M GREAT", Pinkie replied with a jump, and when she landed she stuck out her back left leg in joy- knocking over an expensive looking vase in the process. "Wha- ohI'msosorryTwilightIdidn'tmeantodothat-"
"It's okay Pinkie... this castle is full of them. So what did you need?"
"Oh nothing much! Only to say hi to one of my best-bestest friends in all of Equestria!"
She was jerking and spazzing as she spoke, her eyes darting around in every direction imaginable. "Well now that I've said hi, I gotta say bye bye and run!"
"Pinkie wait-" Pinkie had already dashed away, gleefully whooping while doing her signature 'bounce walk'. She went barreling out of the castle's doors (once again running over Spike), off to see another friend. "Pinkie!" Twilight was chasing after her, determined to find out just why Pinkie was crazier than usual, and to make sure she didn't cause any damage to herself or anypony else.
Her next stop was Carousel Boutique, and inside Rarity was in the midst of sewing together fabric for her latest clothing design. Pinkie Pie came crashing (literally) through the door, squealing Rarity's name. Startled, Rarity gave a jerk, her magically held needle and thread tearing the colorful sheet of fabric.
"HI RARITY", said Pinkie as she ran into the place, moving her head around rapidly. "Er, hello to you as well, darling..." The party pony had a large, unnerving toothy grin, and she was trotting in place. Pinkie Pie was trying to stay in once place this time, but to no avail. She jumped right up in the air, and when she landed she ran about the room, accidentally knocking over mannequins and clothing racks.
"D-darling stop! M-my clothes!" Pinkie Pie came to a halt with a sound akin to a vehicle's brakes, and observed the wreckage. "Whup sorry about that Rarity! My bad."
"It's quite... alright" Rarity uneasily said as she stared at the damage. "But perhaps you should take all that energy elsewhere. Somewhere less... crowded."
"Okie-dokie artichokie!"
Pinkie was about to head out the door, but, of course, Opalescence just HAD to come into the room with her sassy, spoiled gait. "HI OPAL!" Pinkie ran to her, attempting to pet her and bring the poor feline into a bone crushing hug. The cat yowled and ran from her, the pink party pony following in close pursuit. "H-hey come back! I just wanna say hello!"
Opalescence hissed and growled, baring her teeth and claws. "I've got you know, Opal! Get for... A PINKIE HUG!" She leaped at Rarity's unfortunate pet, who yowled, jumped up, and landed on the ceiling and stuck there, thanks to the help of her claws.
Pinkie just kept flying forwards, crashing into yet another clothing rack. "Ow..." She sat up, her eyes comically rolling around as she recovered from the impact. She shook her head as she came back to her senses, stood, bid farewell to the fashionable pony, and ran out of the boutique's doors, her hyperactivity rendering her immune to thoughts of helping to clean up the mess.
"Oh bother", said Rarity as she struggled to calm down Opalescence, even bribing her with cat treats. "Come now, it's alright. She's gone now." At that moment, Twilight came in, out of breath. "Whew... I finally caught up... oh no... I'm too late..." Her ears drooped with horror as she saw what had happened. "Lemme guess... Pinkie Pie was here?"
"Yes you just missed her. You should have seen it! She just came rushing in and ran all over the place, causing me to tear my work and she scared my cat half to death. What has gotten into her?"
"That's my question exactly. I've been trying to keep up with her to prevent, well, this from happening, but turns out I'm too late. Are you okay?"
'Oh yes I'm fine, but I wish I could say the same for all these clothes and my cat..."
"Do you know where she went?"
"No I'm afraid not. But if I were her, I would've bolted off to see our other friends..."
"Th-then I'm going after her! Who KNOWS what will happen!"
"I'll stay here and clean up. You go after Pinkie."
"Alright. Be seeing you."
Twilight ran out, spread her wings, and took flight. She scanned the ground as she searched for the pink pony, but had no luck. "Oh Pinkie... where are you?" Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie off to her next destination, and without a doubt more chaos was to follow.
