When they entered Canterlot they were greeted by smiles and laughter.

Pinkie would go and meet everypony in the party and make new friends,

Rainbow Dash went to meet Soarin and Spitfire.

"Oh hello Rainbow." Said Soarin with a smile on his face.

"Hey Soarin, Spitfire how are you doing guys?"

"Oh you know, flying from one place to another, make some impressions."

"Cool!"

Twilight was with Starlight and Spike. They went to the nearest table and sat down.

"So, Twilight."

"What is it? Is something bothering you?"

"I was wondering, are these Galas scheduled or are they just random parties that are happening?

"I think I know the answer to that."

Twilight and Starlight looked both at Spike and were eager to hear from him.

"You see. This Gala as you may know is actually a party towards the old heroes and protectors of Equestria and beyond."

"Yes I believe that we do know of it." Twilight said.

"Yes I know. Anyway, where was i? Oh yes these parties sometimes are organized only for special occasions like this one for example and sometimes they are not. Oh by the way have you noticed some of the guards? They wear special armors for the party."

Twilight and Starlight then scouted the room for a royal guard. And they found one.

Indeed his armor was different. It was made out of gold and it covered the guard from head to hoof. On the guard’s shoulder was a shoulderpad with the logo of the Sun. And some weapons attached to his armor. He sure looked deadly.

"Wow, they used to wear these? I mean they look so heavy." Starlight said.

"Attention everypony!"

A voice was heard. It was a royal guard announcing something. But it was a little difficult for some ponies to understand what he was saying because his helmet was covering his whole face and his voice was deformed.

"I am here today to present to you: Princess Celestia!"

All the ponies were cheering and greeting Celestia while she was getting up on the stage. All of the ponies gathered around the stage along with Twilight and her friends.

"Welcome Everypony. I am most thankful that you all managed to come to the Gala and I hope your day is going pretty well. I would like to tell you that this isn’t just a normal Gala."

Then spike whispered to Twilight.

"See I told you Twilight."

Twilight then rolled her eyes with a smile and whispered back.

"I didn’t say that I didn’t believe you Spike."

And they both continued hearing what the princess was saying.

"Today is a very special day. We are all gathered here today to honor some of the old heroes of Equestria and beyond!"

The crowd was amused. The never hard heard of any other heroes of Equestria except Starswirl the bearded. And they were all excited to hear something different for once.

"At this Gala you will be presented some of the armors and weapons that were used by these heroes. And I promise you that if you have any questions about who they are or what they did I will happily answer them."

After that a small caravan appeared carrying some weapons and armors.

The armors were nothing like they have ever seen before. They were filed with different symbols and attachments.

Some of the ponies then started asking questions about these old heroes.

"Princess Celestia I have a question."

"And what would it be my friend?"

She said with a smile and in a friendly tone.

"Were all of these old heroes ponies or were they from different species as well?"

Princess Celestia was surprised.

"Yes. Some of them were either griffons, minotaurs and more. But they all had one thing in common. They were brave and ready to do anything for their beloved ones."

Then another random pony asked

"Can you tell us how did they become heroes?"

"It was simply, they were under the right guidance and training."

Another pony asked quickly.

"And the world didn’t care about who they used to be or what they were?"

"Remember my friends. Anypony can become a hero no matter who they are, if they are willing to do what’s right that’s good enough for me."

And more questions were asked.

"Wow guys did you saw these armors?" Rainbow dash said.

"They sure look impressive!" Said Aj.

"And look at their colors and design they are so fabulous!"

"Um…I think they look heavy and sharp…"

Fluttershy said with a worried tone.

"Oh come on Fluttershy its ok."
Fluttershy smiled and said.

"Thanks Twilight."

Fluttershy looked pleased.

"And can you tell us about…."

The pony was immediately interrupted by what appeared to be a hooded pony with a deep voice.

"I have a question for you!"

The ponies eyes’ were all turned to him.

"Excuse me sir but you are going to have take your turn." Celestia said.

The hooded pony just kept talking and ignored what Princess Celestia had said.

"You said that everypony no matter who they are can become heroes right?"

"With the right guidance, yes."

The hooded pony got a little angry.

"What was my deal then?"

Celestia was confused along with everypony else.

"I simply didn’t try hard enough?"

With that said he removed his hood and dropped his cloak on the floor.

When the ponies encountered the pony under the cloak and hood, they gasped.

And Celestia’s heart was beating a lot harder than ever.

The pony’s body color was pure darkness, surprisingly the only facial features he had was his eyes that were glowing blue, he had red batwings, he had no mane and his tale was a dark mist in the shape of a tail, he had a gray and dark armor that covered his body and last he had red twin crescent blades attached to his wrists. His cutie mark was a red scar with a dark aura radiating out of it.

"Hello, sister!"

The ponies could not believe what they heard. Princess Celestia could not believe in her eyes either, the pony that she and her sister banished a very long time ago. Has returned!

"Nocturne you are alive?!"

"Don’t pretend that you didn’t know."

"But....it’s not possible! We banished you!”

She said in a threatening voice.

Nocturne grinned.

"True, you did but i came back and now i will finally put an end to this debate that you started a long time ago!"

"We were forced to send you away Nocturne. YOU forced us to act that way!"

"Oh really?"

Rainbow Dash then immediately said.

"Hey! nopony talks to the princess like that!"

Nocturne turned to look at Rainbow Dash.

"Oh Rainbow Dash, you were always the stubborn one. Sister I think you should put a lease on the element of loyalty. It’s pretty annoying."

Celestia didn’t answer. Nocturne then turned to the ponies that were in the room and said.

"Listen here citizens of Equestria. My dear sister here has fooled you all!"

He pointed at Celestia.

"She promised you safety and what did she do?Instead on going up against the threat herself she sends her lackeys do her dirty work!"

He pointed at the Elements Of Harmony.

Celestia whispered to the guard near her.

"Get Princess Luna, quickly."

The guard immediately went to find Princess Luna. While Nocturne was still talking to the crowd.

He went outside of the Castle and found Luna staring at the moon at the edge of a cliff. The guard rushed at her and explained the situation.

"Princess Luna we have an emergency!"

He said in a worried voice.

"What is it guard?"

The guard first hesitated to say but he broke.
"Princess Celestia has a problem, about somepony by the name…Nocturne is at the stage and he claims to be your sibling!"

Princess Luna’s heart started beating and flashing images appeared on her mind showing what Nocturne had done a long time ago. She felt angry and was ready to strike down Nocturne once and for all. Luna then immediately called her own guards, the moon shined like a beacon at certain locations near the cliff and pony bodies started shaping, they were wearing their armors and were carrying their weapons and Luna didn’t have time to waste, so one of the guards gave Luna her old Crescent Moon Blade, it was grey and sharp, they grouped up and they all rushed into the room.

"Nocturne!"

She shouted. She then flew towards the stage along with her guards. The crowd was scared.

"That’s how you greet your brother Luna?"

"I will greet you however i want! You now have two choices, surrender now or I will be forced to use violence."

"You know very well that even the slightest move that you will do against me will end up badly for you."

"I am not scared of you Nocturne! We defeated you once, we can do it again!"

He smiled and asked.

"And how big is the cost that are you willing to pay to defeat me? Your life?, your subjects’ lives. Even the lives of your friends?”

Luna then immediately rushed at Nocturne with anger.

Their blades clashed and their fight had begun. The ponies started running away in terror. But the elements of harmony stayed and watched.

"We have to do something otherwise they are gonna get themselves killed!" Twilight said.

"Let the princesses handle this I am sure they will defeat this monstrosity." Rarity said.

Nocturne was fighting Luna at the stage along with her guards. Nocturne wasn’t even trying to fight back, in fact it was so easy for him to doge or parry all of their attacks without any problem. He then said.

"This time my dear sisters I will prevail!"

With that said Nocturne teleported behind Luna’s guards, he lifted his hoof towards them and five tendrils came out of Nocturne’s hoof and impaled her guards right through their heads, the guards were then liquefied and were sucked right into Nocturne’s body like a magnet.

"The reign of the Sun and The Moon are over!"

And he then shouted with his demonic voice!

"DARKNESS!"

When he said that a huge fog came out of Nocturne destroying every light source. And the Canterlot Castle was filled with Darkness.
