A Week Later, December 19, 1948
Rainbow Dash’s Cell

It had been seven days since the mock execution Rainbow Dash had been forced to go through. In the ensuing days she had been spending her time reflecting upon her life decisions and wondering whether or not she should commit suicide to avoid the pain of getting executed. However, she decided against the latter course of action, realizing that such an action wouldn’t spare her the pain of death and would give her captors what they wanted. Besides, even if she wanted to kill herself she wouldn’t have been able to; any conceivable object that would be used to take her own life had been removed from her prison cell.

The prison cell opened and a group of armed men stepped into her cell. Rolling off her bed she shuffled her way over to them, utterly defeated and accepting of her fate.

“Ms. Rainbow Dash, thanks to the generosity of Comrade Stalin, you have been spared from death for your heinous crimes!”

“What?!” said Rainbow Dash, confused.

“The government of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics has arranged for a spy swap to occur with your home country. You are to be immediately brought to the Soviet-Turkish border where the spy swap will be held.”

“Do you have any questions?”

“Will I be going back home?”

“Yes.”

Rainbow Dash began weeping at this news. However for the first time in weeks, she wasn’t weeping out of sadness or self-pity but rather joy. She would soon be free.
