Chapter 7: Meet Big Rig

Author's Notes:

By the way, Twilight doesn't count as a violation of the challenge rules. She is being mentioned since she was originally a part of the 6 contestants during the Games.

And I'm still keeping in the rule of trying not to bring up any Transformers mentions hence all the vague terms of 'the boss'.

This chapter however is a little too short though, but I do want it to begin a buildup for the next one. Hope you all like it!

The next day, on a bright and sunny Saturday morning, Sour Sweet went for a walk out in the sun for some fresh air. She had some time to kill for a bit, and she had already finished her homework on the Friday night so she could do what she want. She wore a pink tank top, with a green skirt that had a diamond and heart graphic on it, and she wore green boots as well.

And as she walked, Indigo Zap and Lemon Zest eventually found her and walked with her on the way. Indigo Zap wore a yellow shirt with an indigo cloud shooting a lightning bolt graphic on it, blue jeans with running boots, and she wore fingerless gloves on her hands. Lemon Zest wore a pink tank top with a graphic of lemon slices, yellow short shorts, and black sneakers. And the group made conversation as they walked. Sour had no idea what the girls had done, and she didn't know what Smallfoot had planned for her. But it didn't help that Sour wasn't sure where Smallfoot went. She never saw Smallfoot in the driveway, and her father had the only other car so she basically had to either walk or call someone to leave. But she chose to walk and eventually Lemon and Indigo caught up with her when they saw her out in the town.

"Girls, did Smallfoot say where she went? I looked in the driveway, and the garage, she wasn't there," Sour said.

Indigo's lips drooped, she didn't think about making an alibi to cover for her.

"Oh, that, well, she's uh... Well..."

"She's getting her rack and her bumper scrubbed," Lemon joked, trying not to snicker.

"What?"

"What Lemon is saying is Smallfoot is getting diagnostics run on her and she's gonna be going out looking for fugitives. The boss called her again," Indigo said.

"Oh, uh, okay..." Sour said somberly, staring down on the ground.

"Dude, what's got you down?" Lemon asked as she observed the sad expression on Sour's face.

"I... I don't know Lemon, I... " Sour didn't want to tell the others about how she was feeling. Knowing them, they'd probably go to some over the top level to try and set her up with someone. No way she was doing that again. But maybe she could give away just a little bit about how she really felt?

"I...I guess part of me is still thinking about the Friendship Games," Sour began, "And with everything that happened in the last one."

"Aw, don't worry about that," Indigo said sounding chill and calm.

"How can I forget about that? After blackmailing one of our classmates just to win a stupid game...", Sour sighed, "I don't see how I can forget what we've done. Especially after we were so horrible... why would anyone want to still hang out with us after what we've done..."

"Sour, dude, come on," Lemon said, hanging an arm around the yellow-skinned girl, "We at least did what we could to fix our mistakes. We stayed and kept people from being killed, we made up with Twilight, and we won a battle all on our own. You shouldn't be so focused on that man."

"I can focus on whatever I want Lemon," Sour snarled.

Just then, Indigo's cellphone went off. She pulled it out, and looked at the screen revealing who the caller was. Instantly she knew who it was.

"Excuse me for a sec girls," Indigo said.

Indigo walked behind the group a distance long enough for her to speak. She held the phone up to her ear and began whispering.

"Okay, I'm with Sour and Lemon. I'm gonna see about getting her to meet us with at the mall," Indigo whispered.

"Understood. We have Smallfoot here, and she's ready for when Sour gets here. All we go to do is try and get them alone, get them to interact with one another," Sunny whispered into the phone.

"Of course. See you then," Indigo said before hanging up.

Indigo slowly walked back up with the group, standing next to Sour's left.

"Sorry, my dad was checking in with me. Anyway, you uh... want to come with us to the mall? I know Sugarcoat and Sunny will be there," Indigo said.

Sour sighed, "I suppose so. I don't have anything else to do today."

"Sweet! Come on!" Indigo said, beginning a jog off ahead.

Over at the Mega Mall, Sugarcoat, Sunny Flare, and Smallfoot all stood together awaiting for when the other three would show up. Sunny Flare wore a purple shirt with a graphic of a sun hidden behind a cloud, a short black jacket, a blue skirt, and blue boots. Sugarcoat wore a yellow short-sleeved button up shirt, with a graphic of a colorful stick of dynamite on the pocket protector, black jeans, with white sneakers, and a bracelet on her left arm.

And standing next to Sunny was Smallfoot in her new attire and look. Thanks to Indigo and Sunny's efforts, they spruced up Smallfoot's look to make her unrecognizable.

"Thanks for the help Sunny, I really appreciate what you're doing for me," Smallfoot said.

"Its not a trouble at all dearie. But I should point out one particular thing as a safety warning. Something that the Professor pointed out to me," Sunny began.

"And what's that?"

"Be careful with extremely hot materials. The Professor said your human skin won't be strong enough to stand against extreme heat so, say if someone smushes your face into a pan while its cooking on the stove, it will most likely burn some skin off of you revealing your metallic form. You won't be killed, but your identity will be revealed faster than you can say 'goodnight Gracie'."

"I think her identity will probably be revealed fast enough, her own voice makes it obvious," Sugarcoat said.

"I don't think...", Smallfoot began to speak, but she came to a halt. Wait a minute. Her voice was still the same as her regular voice. Sour could recognize that voice anywhere. She didn't even think about that.

"Oh, shoot! I forgot about that, oh, what do I do? What do I do!?" Smallfoot freaked.

"Smallfoot!", Sunny said, grabbing her by the arms, "Just calm down. We think this through, you can still pass yourself off. But you'll probably have to be silent when you try and talk with her..."

Smallfoot's fists clenched a bit, but she stopped to take a breath. So one thing wasn't planned out, no matter. They can work around it.

"Okay, I can do it. But I don't think that's going to do so well if I can't talk back. I'm going to need a pad of paper and a pencil," Smallfoot said.

Sugarcoat pulled out a pencil that was hanging on her pocket protector and passed it to Smallfoot's hand who clutched it tightly. Sunny Flare followed that up by pulling out a small pad of notebook paper used for waiters to take down orders and gave it to Smallfoot.

"Thank you girls, that's gonna help out. But, there's something else. I don't have a name for my disguise, and I don't exactly know everything there is to dating Sour. Do any of you have advice?"

"I have a few things I can tell you. For one, never discuss the topic of Crystal Prep's reputation, Principal Cinch, wrestling, Miraculous Burnout movies, Plumhouse Studio horror films, and unicorns. She doesn't like any of those topics."

Smallfoot raised a brow, "Okay I understand not bringing up Crystal Prep, but why wrestling?"

"Sour just found out wrestling isn't real," Sunny said.

"Its not real!?" Smallfoot said, "Aw... Wait, what is it about the Plumhouse Studio movies? Why doesn't she like those?"

"The Paranormal Tracking series, Night of the Noose, and Gardener's Grave. She also hates that they have the audacity to compare Night of the Noose with such famous horror icons. Ugh, even I don't like how they stooped to that degree...", Sunny said.

"Understood. In fact, I even sat through Night of the Noose, it was dull, cliche, not scary, and the twists weren't even good twists," Smallfoot replied.

"I know, right?" Sunny said.

Smallfoot nodded, "But getting back to the main topic at hand, is there anything else I need to be aware of about Sour?"

"Yes. For one, if she's mad, don't say anything to set her off even more," Sugarcoat replied.

"Sugarcoat, considering I won't be saying anything at all to pose as a date, I don't think they'll be a problem."

"But I'm only telling you this for safety purposes," Sugarcoat said, "And as for her interests--"

"She likes 1950s songs, going to the gym, archery, 1980s cartoons, her favorite food is cheeseburgers with a side of fries, she'll accept any gift you give her, and she'll always need to know you're always there for her," Smallfoot interrupted with a smile on her face.

Sugarcoat's finger drooped, along with her jaw, "How do you know that?"

"I've spent enough time with her to pick up a few things about her, and I've spent more time with her than you realize," Smallfoot said.

Sugarcoat and Sunny gave a few understanding nods.

"Okay, well as for what she likes in a girl--", Sugarcoat began.

"She wants someone who's strong, sweet, always has her back, and knows that she is the boss if ever they decide to get... intimate," Smallfoot cringed, while shuddering. "But I'm all on board with the first things, I can get those down."

"Okay, but you'll need to know some other things. If you two actually do manage to stay together long enough, she may want to get... intimate, with you," Sunny cringed, "And she um... she does like getting intimate. I mean, really... likes it."

Smallfoot raised a hand, "I've already read and researched everything on that subject, lets move on."

"You still need to know this. If you do ever make it into the bedroom, she is in charge. She's the dominant one, not you. You do what she says, and you'll be fine," Sugarcoat said, "However just watching your friendship with her alone, I think that might change and maybe you might be the one in control."

Smallfoot rolled her eyes. Did she really need to know that? That was way too far, and she still needed to start with the first stage.

"Understood. Anything else?"

"Nope, I believe we've covered everything," Sugarcoat said looking to the side, eyes widening, "And she's coming here right now."

Smallfoot stayed quiet after that, for when she moved her eyes, there was Sour, Indigo, and Lemon entering her peripheral vision. Smallfoot felt her heart pounding when Sour came near. This was it. No backing down now. She could do this.

"Morning girls," Sour said.

"Morning Sour. How are you on this fine morning?" Sunny asked politely.

"Fine, I guess. Have any of you two seen Smallfoot? She didn't return home last night and she wasn't in the driveway this morning," Sour said.

Sunny and Sugarcoat's eyes bounced back and forth at each other, and then back at Sour.

"Uh... no, we haven't," Sunny said.

Sugarcoat shook her head as well, confirming what Sunny said. Sour just groaned and scrunched her face. Hopefully Smallfoot wasn't out getting slaughtered or hurt by any of their enemies.

"Well... if she does come back, tell her to call me please?" Sour asked.

"Right away dearie. Oh, and uh, I'd like to introduce you to our new friend," Sunny said, gesturing to Smallfoot who stood on her left.

Sour looked to the left and looked up and down on Smallfoot's new look. Smallfoot wore a plaid blue buttoned-up t-shirt, which was tucked into blue short jeans. Smallfoot also wore red boots, red fingerless gloves on her hands, a golden necklace around her neck with the hammer crossing the wrench, and the green tinted 80s glasses on her face.

"Oh, uh... hello. I'm Sour, and uh, you are?" Sour began.

Smallfoot said nothing. She knew her voice would give herself away, so the only thing to do was to stay silent. Instead, she gave a warm smile and wink to Sour.

"Um... is she--"

"I apologize, she lost her voice a few years ago. She's a bit on the mute side," Sunny said, "This is Big Rig. She worked with a trucking company for a bit, and now she's here in Canterlot finishing the rest of high-school."

"Oh, okay... I guess," Sour began.

Smallfoot pulled out the pad of paper, and the pencil that was given to her by Sugarcoat, and she wrote a note into it for Sour to see.

Are you okay? You seem kind of down.

"Oh, I'm... I'm okay, I'm just... You don't want to know," Sour replied.

Well if you do want to talk, I'm always open to listening. I'm a pretty good listener.

Sour sighed, "Thanks, I guess-- Wait. Why are so interested?"

Smallfoot gulped with fear, she was about to be found out. But luckily for her, she had thought out a few responses ahead of time, just in case she asked a few questions that were highly specific.

I don't like seeing people when they're down, I don't think anyone should be sad.

Sour raised a brow as she read Smallfoot's response, but eventually the unsure look went away.

"If you say so...", Sour said.

The other girls looked at Sour and Smallfoot in awkward silence, all four them were a little unsure of how this situation was going to turn out. For that matter, they were a bit worried that Sour was going to find out who Smallfoot was any second. They had to think of something fast.

"Say, uh, how about we check out a few stores? I've got my eye set on the new video game, Psuedo-lings," Indigo said, rubbing her hands together, with a smirk.

"I don't see why not. Just don't have us stay there for several hours like last time," Sour said.

"No problem, it'll be in and out," Indigo said. "Come on!"

Indigo led the group away to go on over to the video game store, all the while they continued to chat amongst themselves. But during their walk, Sour stayed silent the entire time and kept her eye on this new girl. Something about her seemed strangely familiar. Was it her appearance? Was it the little tidbits of personality she displayed when she briefly talked to her? Or was there something else hidden underneath that pair of glasses...
