Chapter 13: What To Wear On A Date?

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Author's Notes:

I need to know what not to wear on a date.

Also I need to know what NOT to do on a date.

And I need to finish this fic so I can move on to other projects. And I hope you all are continuing to enjoy this romantic adventure some more. You've all been very supportive and I can't wait to hear your thoughts. Never forget that you all, are awesome.

The next morning came by and it was much more happy. The others were happy to see that Smallfoot had finally worked up the courage to ask her out on a date. So much so that they were helping the two out to prepare them for their date. The only difference was, Sugarcoat and Indigo Zap were helping Sour, while Lemon Zest and Sunny Flare were helping Smallfoot.

In Sour's bedroom, Indigo and Sugarcoat were frantically digging in her closet trying to find a dress, but they couldn't find anything. She barely had anything in her closet that she could wear on her date.

"Girls, I appreciate the help, but I do not appreciate you throwing everything out of my closet like maniacs," Sour said as she watched the girls throw tons of clothes around in Sunny Flare's room.

Neither one of them even heard her, they just kept on throwing clothes around.

"You barely have anything in here," Indigo groaned.

"I know!"

"Do you even do any shopping? I'm just looking at these dusty old suits," Indigo said as she chucked another uniform away.

"Well... no," Sour said rubbing the back of her head.

Sugarcoat tilted her glasses down as she looked at Sour and she raised an eyebrow.

"We've got to take you shopping. Come on, we'll take my car," Sugarcoat said as she walked away from the closet.

"W-What, right now?" Sour asked.

"Do you want to do it on your date night?"

"No, no, hang on, I'm coming!"

Indigo and Sugarcoat wasted no time going to the mall with Sour. With what little to no article of clothing in her closet, they had to go out and find something.

"Remind me again why I'm going with you guys? Indigo, you don't even like dressing up so why are you helping me?"

"Because you're my friend and... I've actually dressed up for my boyfriend a few times," Indigo blushed.

Sour gave a smug look to the goggled athlete, "Not so masculine now are we?"

"Oh don't start with me! Come on, we're here to find you something."

"But where do we even look?"

"I know a store we can try. Follow me," Sugarcoat said leading the girls away.

The trio entered into a clothing store, and as they walked on through, they found a spot where there were plenty of dresses. Many of them in different sizes, shapes, and colors. But what would be the perfect one?

"What do I even wear?" Sour asked, "I've never actually dressed in something fancy, and the only times I did was going to school. I still hate the uniforms."

"Well this isn't like going to school. You're only dressing up in something fancy to get your date to admire you... and if Lemon was here, she would probably say something about dressing up in something that gets your date to stare at your rack."

Sour blushed a bit, "Maybe for another time... but I'm trying to keep a relationship this time, so I need to start off something easy."

"Okay, well what do you like?" Sugarcoat asked.

Sour turned her head to look at the selection of dresses. What could she wear? What did she want to wear? Something fancy? Snazzy? Maybe even something sexy?

"Hm..."

5 Minutes Later

"This is kind of sharp."

Sour stepped out of the changing room in a dress that was plaid all over, colored in white and black. Sugarcoat and Indigo just shook their heads.

"That doesn't look good on you," Sugarcoat replied.

"Nope."

Sour just frowned and turned around back into the changing room again. Maybe the next dress would earn a thumbs up from them.

5 Minutes Later Again

"Ooh, this looks great!"

Sour stepped out once again, this time wearing a green dress that glittered and gleamed in the light. The dress was so shiny that Indigo and Sugarcoat had to cover their own eyes.

"Too bright!!! My eyes!", Indigo screamed.

"Take it off!" Sugarcoat cried.

Sour just shrugged. But just as she loosened the straps on her dress, Sugarcoat and Indigo froze.

"Not here!" Sugarcoat yelled.

"Don't strip in front of us!"

Sour just rolled her eyes, "I hope Big Rig's having more luck than I am..."

Smallfoot wasn't having much luck on her end either. She was panicking like crazy. None of the outfits were what she wanted to wear, nor something she found attractive to wear on her date. She wanted to wear something beautiful, but none of them were looking good in her eyes.

Sunny, Lemon Zest, and the Guardian Pathfinder that they invited to help just watched in horror as Smallfoot kept throwing clothes around, trying to find something to wear. Sunny and Lemon invited Pathfinder of all bots because she was the only bot they knew that could lend them a hand in a situation like this, not to mention she was the closest thing that Smallfoot had to a sister.

"No, no, no! These are all terrible!" Smallfoot panicked as she tossed more clothes around.

She zoomed past the group again, and threw more clothes out of the drawers, trying to find something. She didn't even notice some of them were landing on her friends.

"I like that one," the Guardian Pathfinder said as a black party dress landed on her left. Another dress came flying at her, this time on her right.

"That's a beautiful color."

But as she turned her head around, another dress came flying at her, this time landing on her head.

"This one smells funny," Pathfinder's voice muffled under the article of clothing.

Sunny just pulled the dress of the female Guardian's head.

"Smallfoot? Sweetie? Don't you think you're overreacting?" Sunny asked.

"No! I have to be perfect for Sour tonight, and I'm not, then its gonna be the worst night of her life, and then its gonna be the worst night of my life, and then she's gonna be sad again, and she'll never get the girlfriend she deserves, and I'll never be able to tell her how much I love her, and I'll spend the rest of my life alone and--"

"Hold yourself together man!" Lemon yelled as she grabbed Smallfoot by the shoulders and threw a slap across her face.

"OW!" Smallfoot boomed as she felt her cheek, "What was that for!?"

"You are overreacting!" Lemon said as she slapped her cheek again. "You need to calm yourself down," she slapped Smallfoot's face again, "And you've got to keep it together!"

Smallfoot took a moment and compiled her emotions together.

"Okay. You're right. Maybe I'm just--"

Lemon slapped her face again.

"OW! What did I do that time!?"

"That was just for fun!" Lemon grinned.

Smallfoot scowled, "That wasn't funny!"

"Yeah it is!", Lemon slapped her face again.

Smallfoot glared at Lemon with an angry look, "Its still not funny!"

Smallfoot retaliated by throwing a slap onto Lemon's face this time.

"Ow! WHY!?" Lemon cried.

"You kept slapping my face!"

"That is enough!" Pathfinder stood in between the two girls, and pulled them both away from each other in hopes to avoid another inevitable slapping round.

"First, Lemon stop slapping her, this isn't going to get anywhere. Secondly...", Pathfinder turned to look at Smallfoot and she put her hands on her shoulders.

"You will be alright. I know you'll be okay. You love this girl more than anything else, don't you?"

"Mmmhmm...", Smallfoot whimpered.

"And you'll do anything to keep her safe, right?"

Smallfoot nodded again.

"Then just calm down and relax. You know you can defend her, and I know too. You know her more than any of us, and I know you'll have a great time with her. You just need to calm down. Now... about what to wear..."

Pathfinder looked around and her visor eyes caught something of interest. She walked over to one of the racks, and on a hangar was another dress that sparkled in her visor.

"Try this one."

5 Minutes Later... Again...

Pathfinder, Sunny, and Lemon Zest stood grouped together as they waited for Smallfoot to finish putting her outfit together. Pathfinder kept pacing back and forth while Lemon stood rocking out to her headset, and Sunny Flare kept tapping her feet on the edge of her bed as they waited.

"Do you need a hand back there?" Sunny asked.

"No, I've got it!" Smallfoot yelled back.

Smallfoot finally exited out from behind a screen panel, revealing herself all dressed up. Her glasses were now swapped with a pair of glasses that were triangular shaped with the lenses. There was blue mascara on her eyes, much like Lemon Zest's, and around her neck was a golden necklace with a hammer crossing over with a wrench, in an X formation. She had a sleeveless dress with sparkling blue, with a cyan neck-piece, followed by her hair flowing out her back, and she wore matching bracelets on each wrist.

The girls all gasped and murmured with admiration. Smallfoot looked like an angel sent from the heavens above.

"Smallfoot... dude... you look hot."

Smallfoot blushed, "You really think so?"

"You are a knockout!" Sunny grinned, "Sour is going to love it!"

Smallfoot smiled, "I hope so."

"Now, dearie, when you go out, we'll be nearby at another table in case you need some advice. And we'll be standing by in case something goes wrong."

"Like what?"

"Well... say someone starts a fight in the restaurant and food flies everywhere, we'll try to keep them off you two. But then again... the waiters seem to continue their task even when a fight's going on..."

Sunny cleared her throat, "Either way, we'll keep any danger in your area off of you. And we'll make sure that any signs of her former boyfriend are nowhere near."

"What makes you think Steel Blade will show up?" Smallfoot asked.

"I don't think its likely, but still, former partners can be unpredictable. I know so...", Sunny replied.

"And if there are any Renegades around, we'll keep an eye out as well. We'll stay around to make sure they don't come anywhere near you two," Pathfinder state with her finger raised up.

Smallfoot felt a smile creeping up on her face as she looked to her friends.

"Girls... thank you. I can't express how happy I am that you're going through all of this trouble to help me," Smallfoot smiled.

The others gave friendly smiles in return.

"Aw, bring it here ya teddy bear," Lemon said with a silly grin on her face.

Smallfoot moved in for a group hug, and all four girls joined in for a big group hug. Too big a hug.

"Um... girls... c-can't... breathe..." Smallfoot wheezed.

"Oh, sorry!"

The girls broke free from the group hug, letting her adjust her outfit again to make it look neat and clean.

"So, what are you waiting for? You've got a date with destiny!" Lemon cheered.

Smallfoot would have drove to pick up her date, but since her real self had basically lied to Sour about where she was, driving in her red pick-up truck form wasn't an option. Luckily, she received a helping hand from someone who was kind enough to help out.

"I appreciate you offering me a disguise mode Scratch but... are you sure you're okay with this? This isn't weird to you?"

"Smallfoot, I've seen weirder things in my life. This isn't weird to me at the slightest. Also I had nothing else to do tonight so I'm happy to offer a hand."

Smallfoot smiled, "Thanks Scratch. Oh and one more thing--"

"I say nothing at all, block out all radio contact until you two are out of the car, and you are mute. We've been over this four times already."

Smallfoot nodded and kept her focus ahead. Scratch turned around another corner and pulled up along the sidewalk, directly in front of Sour's house. She looked at the empty driveway and sighed at the sight of her real form not in view. She hoped that Sour wasn't too worried about her being gone for this long.

She stepped out of the Guardian car and walked towards the front door and knocked on the door. She got a response right away as the door opened up revealing her date for the night.

Smallfoot's happiness skyrocketed in the air when she laid her eyes on the beautiful girl right before her. Sour Sweet's hair was no different, but the outfit she wore was absolutely breathtakingly ravishing. She now wore black high heels, along with a green cocktail dress, and she now wore diamond earrings.

She was standing right before a goddess, and she was exquisite. She presented another note paper to speak to her.

Sour you look absolutely beautiful.

Sour felt her cheeks warm up.

"Y-You really think so?"

Smallfoot gave a smile and nod.

"T-Thanks. You look really amazing by the way," Sour stammered.

Smallfoot held back a small giggle. Sour's blushing was too cute. She offered a hand out to her, and Sour gladly took it as the two walked to the Guardian vehicle that was parked. She opened the door in front of her, and allowed her to step inside. Sour closed the door, and Smallfoot got in to the other side of the car, and put her seatbelt on.

Ready to go?

Sour nodded, "Yeah I am. So... where are we going?"

Smallfoot winked.

You'll see. I know its one of your favorite places in the world.

Smallfoot wrote nothing else, and just left Sour to wallow in mystery. One of her favorite places? Where was this? What was this restaurant she was taking them to? Either way, she was excited and she couldn't wait to begin her date with probably the most beautiful girl she's laid her eyes on.
