I wonder at times if things had gone differently would we all have met?

When we could see the station at Tenpony I stopped unhooked and went inside the tortoise to Alert Dj Pon3 that we were on approach and would like to have somepony there to greet us that knows we have an appointment and sent it Got a response almost instantly stating that his assistant Homage would meet us at the entrance.

So we allowed Daisy to go first as we made our approach to the entrance a guard in MAS security barding called Out “Halt What’s your business at Tenpony.” The Security mare said.

“Bella you Celestia damn well know who I am why must we go through this every single time damn girl.” Daisy said.

The guard looked at Daisy. “Good to see you Daisy you know the rules I’m just following procedure You know the drill.” Bella said.

Daisy sighed. “Ya Ya.” Daisy said.

I stepped up next to Daisy and was staring down a barrel of the twin .308 rifles attached to the mares battle saddle. “You are not welcomed here Enclave so turn your tails around and leave before I put a bullet in yea.” The mare said.

“I wouldn’t do that If I were you Bella there her on business with Dj Pon3 I was asked to meet them.” Said a Gray Unicorn with a blue and silver mane and tail.

“I take it your Homage?” I asked getting a nod from the her. The guard looked like she was going into shock.

“I can clear that little misunderstanding up. I am not enclave nor will I aid any enclave ponies I was escorting Daisy here because I saved her and the what was left of her caravan from a raider ambush near New Appleloosa escorted her there then learned that she was coming here. We had business in Manehattan so we offered to escort her here.” I said.

“She’s tell the truth When we arrived in New Appleloosa Ditzy recognized both of these mares and tackled them giving them hugs she even gave what could have been a squeal of joy in seeing them.” Daisy said.

I rubbed the back of my neck. “What can I say Ditzy is a good friend of ours we lived in the same town for Celestia's sake.” I said. That got every guard ponies attention “No Ghouls allowed.” Bella said.

I sat down reached up and removed my helmet so did Storm. “Do I look like a ghoul to you!” I said looking at the shock on every guards and Homage face. “Look it is a Long story, One I’m sure I’m going to be asked to tell by the pony I’m here to see.” I said with a sigh.

“Anyway Daisy has filled us in with some of the things that will be required to enter the tower though We will turn our ammo over there is one slight problem My Companion has only missiles no additional ammo for her armor and in conjunction mine powers our weapons in my case my Magical energy rifle is powered by my Armor the others are conventional. You can not remove the power to the weapons due to the fact that it is built into the armor. Also we have equipment and supplies that we will not and I will repeat that will not leave unattended. Due to the delicate nature of the equipment we can not leave it unattended. We have no wish to have issues or be the cause of somepony messing with said equipment and being injured because automated security measures and anti theft countermeasures activated. So to make sure nothing like that happens The Corporal will be standing guard over the tortoise and wagon behind me.” I said with a no nonsense expression.

The guard looked at the two things that I was hooked up to. “What is in there?” the guard enquired.

“It has our communications equipment that allows me to communicate with my ponies. As well as if need be communicate with an outside source I contacted Dj Pon3 directly with it through the MASEBS direct line. Armor and weapons for recruits and salvage due to protocol and regulations I can not permit access to the tortoise.” I said.

The guard looked at the weapon systems on the tortoise. “You look like you're expecting a war.” The guard said.

“Well let me ask you something Guard If you woke up and found out the home you swore to protect is like this didn’t know what to expect wouldn’t you want to be prepared and have something that can pack a big punch if you had access to it?” I asked.

“That I would, but why can we not clear it.” She asked.

“Like I said this is a Military Craft and you are in the presence of a General of the Equestrian Airguard and probably the only two left we did recruit somepony the corporal who will guard our equipment and salvage. Military regulations no unauthorized personnel can enter a military craft. I you have an issue I would like to speak with the pony in charge of security.” I said.

Bella looked at a fellow guard who nodded and ran off. 15 minutes later a stallion was accompion the mare back.

“What is going on here?” The stallion asked.

“Are you the pony in charge of Tower security?” I asked he nodded. “That I am and he narrowed his eyes and your not welcomed here enclave.” he said. I sighed, “FOR BUCK SAKES I AM NOT ENCLAVE I WILL REFUSE TO BE CALLED A TRAITORS TO THE CROWN WHO DO NOT EVEN DESERVE TO BE CALLED PEGASI. I AM GENERAL CLOUD STRIKER OF THE EQUESTRIAN AIRGUARD.” I screamed out in utter frustration. Storm put a hoof on my shoulder. “Calm yourself Ma’am this will not get us anywhere.” She said and I took several deep calming breaths.

“I serve Princess Celestia and Princess Luna and Equestria in general my sworn duty is to protect the ponies of Equestria The day after I woke up My Second command and I went out into the wasteland our beloved home has become we rescued what appeared to be a caravan of some sort being assaulted by a group of ponies we came to there aid only two survived the encounter with the what we learned where Raiders the raiders didn’t fare as well we proceeded to escort the group to New Appleloosa were we met a friend we thought we would never see again after learning they were heading here since we were going in the same direction we escorted them here. I am not of the enclave I do not hold any allegiance with the pegasi who abandoned Equestria Betrayed the trust they were given to them to protect the ponies of Equestria So do not call me an enclave pony again I give one warning next pony that calls me enclave loses an ear.” I said.

The old stallion looks at me calculating. “What is your business here pegasus?” He asked.

“They have an appointment with Dj Pon3 for a personal interview.” Homage said.

“They have already agreed to turning in their ammunition, but there is some complications with other things so the General here has asked to speak to you directly.” Homage said.

“I see what is it that is being held up.” The Guard chief said.

“Our equipment can not be turned over it is military property as such because of autodefensas and anti theft countermeasures Anypony attempting to gain entry to our craft will trigger said defenses the corporal here will be guarding our equipment while we conclude our business with Dj Pon3 after which we will be leaving I can not allow access to our craft due to the fact that the equipment and salvage we have is of a sensitive nature that is one reason the other reason is because we can not access the cabin Likewise with the supply wagon being pulled along behind it we could fit one pony in each but that’s just barely and it’s quite cramped.” I said.

“Why so full what are they carrying?” He asked.

“Equipment Vital to the mission I was given should the worst case scenario happen which it did so now I’m fulfilling that mission. I was missing Key Equipment to fulfill said mission luckily the said equipment was available at a hub here in Manehattan. We have come from said Hub and got more than we were expecting most of what is in there is Armors there are a few weapons located in the forward compartment along with the ammunition for said weapons again in the forward compartment the communication equipment that allows me to talk with my pony’s while pulling the tortoise or when scouting ahead. I will turn our ammo over to you that we have on us but we will not unpack everything to get to the ammo in the supply wagon or tortoise hence the reason I offered to have the Corporal guard the our gear at the gate so nopony gets hurt from trying to get into said craft or supplies would hate to have the cannon’s activate and blast somepony because of said breach attempts.” I said.

“That seems reasonable the security checkpoint inside the gate will be where we will collect your ammo you will get it all back when you leave Let them through conduct your business with Dj Pon3 and get I do not want to have an issue having you here.” He said

The Chief looked to Homage and next time he gets an appointment with somepony in advance as I'm sure this was if you're here to greet them please be kind enough to inform us in security.” He said.

We passed through the outer gate another Unicorn walked out her horn flashed and every clip round and missile was located and removed from our weapon system she whistled loudly “Damn Lady you are loaded for bear I do not think I have seen so much AP rounds in my life.” She said The Chief heard that comment walked back and Looked at the ammo and his eyebrow raised. “This is military grade ammo where the buck did you get this ammo?” He asked.

I sighed. “I told you already Chief I am a military officer that ammo was in a hooflocker next to where I woke up was my Ammo for my Sniper and minigun and missile pods”. I said

“Now if you're done With the third degree we would like to get our business concluded Corporal stand guard over the equipment Myself or Storm will come by to relieve you should you wish to acquire any supplies like ammo we did not have a lot of ammo on hoof for you battle saddle might be able to get some more. If that is okay with you Chief are we permitted to purchase supplies that we are low on?” I asked him after I finished giving Misty orders which she saluted me with a yes ma’am.
“What sort of supplies are you looking for?” He asked I responded with “Medical Supplies and the Corporal could use more ammo for her shotgun battle saddle other than that we will be fine.” I said,

“I do not see any problem with getting medical supplies munitions she will need to see me in the security office.” He said. After we got through the secondary gate all but Misty I took my portable headset and placed it in my ear. “Corporal can you hear me?” I asked.

“Yes Ma’am.” came the response. “Good keep us informed of anything.” I said. “Yes Ma’am.” Misty said.

Homage looked at me. “Is that necessary?” She asked.

I looked at her. “Tell me Homage would you trust somepony you hardly know with equipment that could mean the very survival of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of ponies should that equipment be damaged or stolen?” Answered her question with one of my own. That caused her to pause. I looked at her with a serious face. “I’m not joking I am deadly serious when it comes to doing my job.” I said.

“Before you ask no I can not tell you what I mean by that because until I know what is all going on I do not know who I can trust who is a friend or foe I am after all from a different time I fought in the war I was born before the war I wasn’t always a military officer I was what most pegasi where Weather ponies controlling the weather around Equestria was such a beautiful place full of life friendship and most of all peace. I helped design this armor and test it this is the prototype armor. 200 years and 6 days ago. The Captain and I were in charge of an experimental facility when the megaspells fell we all entered what was for all intensivperpases a deep sleep like state they called it suspended animation we were alive but asleep. We went to sleep woke up to this the wasteland we knew of disgruntlement within the pegasi. Was the start of the enclave I am assuming I did talk with a dashit… and got information on the enclave info that made me ashamed to be a pegasus so you can see why I would blow up at being called a enclave officer when I talked to the dashit I told him if he called me an enclave pony I would blow his ear off he never did. I am not going to beat around the bush here Homage I am on a mission to help Equestria one of protection and aid as my oath to the princesses demands I have never been disloyal to Equestria. Equestria is my home to see her so hurt and sick. It hurts to know that to me and the Captain was last week we had a Picnic with Ditzy and her daughters in a field of flowers under the blue and clear sky sun shining down on us and the next thing we know we are seeing a destroyed and sick land under the cover of a thick clouds. To know that everypony you know is gone family friends loved ones all gone and to lose all my ponies in the process 17 years ago and not know it. Until we awoke.” I said with a sad smile on my face.

I have looked at Homage then looked around Twilights little sanctuary and sighed. “It has been awhile since I have seen this place last time I was here was a not the brightest day was in fact a dreary day one you just wish would go away and never come back there are things I wish I could do over again things I would like to fix say something that would change what happened. There is no changing the past what could I do differently what could I say to get through to a friend who needed sleep to step back for a moment hang out with friends instead of staying to do nothing but get frustrated because something wasn’t working right. Twilight Sparkle brilliant as she was didn’t realize that to really solve a problem was to sleep the more she overworked herself the more stress she was under. “Ah that well for one military protocol two because of the nature of the equipment. It is important like I said earlier I can not go into more detail then that. I can say that I will not abandon Equestria. Equestria needs me in truth Equestria needs all of us each and every single one of us. Equestria is hurt bloodied bruised and bleeding. Equestria needs ponies like The stable Dweller who will stand up and do the right thing and help others Ponies that will give a helping hoof to somepony in need. 200 years ago Equestria was fractured wedges driven between the tribes of ponies The Pegasi The Earth Ponies and The Unicorns No pony was better than another we were all equal had the same rights sure some could do things better than the others that doesn’t mean that they were better than the other tribes.” I paused thinking for a moment.
“Let me ask you something Homage. Do you know the story of hearths warming eve the founding of Equestria?” I asked.

Homage seemed lost in thought. “Only bits and pieces.” She said.

“Alright let’s start by saying this Back before the founding of Equestria the tribes of ponies were not friends they worked together out of necessity not out of friendship the unicorns would use their magic to raise the sun and moon so that the earth ponies would have the sun for growing of crops the pegasi proud warriors like would bring the rain the crops would need. Then one year it was colder than normal crops were failing earth and unicorn alike blamed the pegasi for the cold weather the earth ponies blamed the Unicorns for not doing their job both unicorn and pegasi blamed the earth ponies of hogging all the food. Each tribe blamed the others fighting broke out Pegasi raided earth pony villages and unicorn did the same each claiming they had the right to the food so each went their separate ways looking for a new land to claim as there own they all came to what became equestria they started to fight almost as soon as they saw each other. The same thing that happened at the old land began to happen here the hate and anger the leaders of the three tribes had for one another was giving power to a creature known as a windigo the windigos feed off strife and hate gained strength from it in fact but friendship could defeat them three ponies One earth one unicorn and one pegasus pony showed the way the fire of friendship also known as the magic of friendship was able to Defeat a foe that was freezing the land because of the hate in the leaders hearts Clover the CLever Smart Cookie and Private Pansy showed the way accords were made and the unification of the tribes happened than Celestia and Luna came showing that they embodied all three tribes they all agreed that they should rule the land and Equestria was born for many years peace reigned. The tribes helped each other worked together equestria prospered all because a spark of friendship between three ponies one of each tribe lead the way.” I said.

“Almost sounds like unity something that redeye preaches about. But what you describe is different then what he preaches he’s also is the head of the slavers that have been getting more aggressive there base from what I can determine is based in Fillydelphia I can’t tell you much more than that.” Homage said.

“So Redeye and this Supposed Goddess are threats.” I said getting a nod from Homage.

“Why am so surprised Of course Dj Pon3 is a hermit probably does interviews through you if at all. So Dj what can you tell me that’s going on the one thing I do not have is Information I will give you some of my story in return. Be Careful when mentioning us on the airwaves. My unit is an intel and reconnaissance unit. Besides myself I have 2 ponies maybe 3 under my command when I had 200 plus all additional personnel perished 17 years ago. So In essence I am rebuilding my Unit. Equipment has been recovered that is vital to the mission at hoof. I need a few good ponies willing to stand up and assist others. I will more than likely will need to take a moment to train some ponies in combat but it’s to be expected no true means to improve oneself without expending a lot of caps on ammo to improve your capability with a firearm or battle saddle.” I said before saying over com’s. “Status report Corporal?”

“All clear Ma’am nothing to report.” Misty replied.

“Good Keep me appraised.” I said.

“You said you're looking for ponies willing to assist others out of the goodness of their hearts not for what that maybe can get them.” Homage said I nodded at her question.

“I am afraid that there are not many ponies out there at least from reports I get from time to time willing to assist another pony without some form of compensation most ponies out there do merc work good pay not a lot would help just for nothing.” Homage said.

I placed a hoof on my chin in thought. Should I offer Homage some hope that I can give. Even provide because of our base. “I need to speak with the captain for a moment is there someplace we can talk without being overheard Not that I don’t trust you Homage it is something that I have to discuss with my second in command about.” I said getting a nod from the unicorn mare.

“Storm there is a lot going on here more than we realise. Homage seems to be the honest type telling the truth no matter how much it hurts. If the things we have seen and the info Littlepip and Calamity gave us something big is going on. Whatever it is has gotten Homage scared I want to offer her support I want to give her Hope that we can help. Do you think we can trust her?” I asked.

Storm looked lost in thought for a moment. “ Yes as long as we get a promise from her or an oath of secrecy that nopony is to learn what we tell her not the ponies of the wasteland until we have the means to really make a difference.” Storm said I smiled. And nodded. “My thoughts exactly.” I replied.

“Homage.” I said getting her attention. “We are going to tell you something, but you have to swear an oath to keep what is about to be said a secret nopony can know about it or it can be abused or destroyed at some point we will release the information your about to learn but for now nopony can know about it.” I said with a voice of steel and face that spoke of how serious I was taking this.

Homage gulped “I swear to Celestia that I will not reveal any information you may share with me to anypony not approved to have it unless specified by you this I Swear an Oath of secrecy until such time as my lips are unsealed.” Homage said with conviction and determination.

“Homage Storm and I are not standard Equestrian Military I’m sure you guessed that already by now. I am who I said I am A General in the Equestrian Military but I am covert ops black ops and Reconnaissance and assassination if called for. Storm WIng and I are operatives of the Ministry of Awesome. We take orders directly from Rainbow Dash and Princesses Celestia and Luna. any other military officer is to obey any order I give regardless of my rank I could be the lowest ranked pony and I would have near as much authority as Princess Luna herself. I do not use this authority often only ever had to do so once and that was to save the ships and crew of 3 other vessels from being wiped out. No pony questioned me again after that. The punishment for High Treason and selling out the whole task force to the enemy was death. It was carried out right then and there when it was discovered. Getting off track here. The place Storm and I awoke in was my base a base Equestria doesn’t Know exists no record of its construction was ever made only 6 ponies knew of its existence you're looking at two of them Rainbow Dash, Applebloom, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are the only ponies who knew of its existences Applebloom agreed to have the memory of the location and construction removed. The ponies that served as my staff the 200 were brought in under sleep conditions all equipment that would track the location of said base was scrambled tracking devices if any were fried. The base was a Stable that had Two missions I can say this it was recon and intel possible strategic assault here and there but base was 6 months old when the worst case happened and its secondary mission kicked in. This base has 27 floors 2 of which are dedicated to Hydroponics the second floor is a Medical Hydroponics garden that is planted with everything that is needed to make potions healing elixirs radaway medx and most medical herbs. The main hydroponics garden can support up to a million ponies if done right. It has manufacturing capability. One floor completely for weapon and defence ammunition and other equipment, It has a hangar bay to launch and recover raptors thunderheads and other sky ships even build them should we have the parts needed. 2 decks alone for education ranging from math to engineering to science and biology to military training and medical training. The equipment I have the corporal guarding is to get the special project that was nearly completed only needed two things to be finished the 200 personnel that died was my crew and team the rest of the bases staff was being trained and screened. When the bombs fell We locked everything down secured everything Sealed the armory activated the Automated maintenance and security systems. The second function of my base was to help rebuild Equestria and help her recover We found out the location of where the remaining equipment that we needed was located Everything in those two wagons is equipment that will help me help Equestria and her ponies. I can not run the base alone I need help hence the reason I said I do not know who is a friend and who is a foe. For buck sakes I do not know if telling you this is the right thing or not.” I said with a sigh.

Homage was staring at me with her jaw hanging loose but there was a fire of hope in her eyes.

“Is this true do you have access to such things. Be able to provide food for hundreds to thousands of ponies who could use fresh foods to really teach ponies history engineering manufacturing providing real schools?” Homage asked I nodded and she squealed.

“Can you see why I am being careful with who I tell this too I can not let just anypony have access to it without having personnel who will be loyal and true to Equestria protecting said resources can’t let it fall to ponies like the Steel Rangers who would use it not for the betterment of the wasteland but for their own twisted goals. Can’t let this Redeye pony get his hooves on this. We have to be careful with what we do have should it be damaged Destroyed Equestria could truly suffer a greater fall than it already has we are alive we can rebuild and recover. I am only one pony. I can not do this alone. The location of my base is secret and must remain so I can not hope to do this all by myself. The wasteland survival guide Ditzy wrote will be added to the Mainframe at the base it is a valuable guide to how to survive out here. Traders will be highly needed to move supplies around full convoys of traders with guards to protect them Bringing food clean water to towns cities and villages. The project that was being worked on can now be finished and will be a great boon to the wasteland, but there is one little problem.” I said.

“And that Is?” Homage asked.

“Personnel. The 200 ponies that went into stasis with us and died 17 years ago was the crew for said project. I will need to train ponies to work the controls the systems and how to be effective in combat should we need to enter a battle or defend somepony. Aerial combat is not easy you have so much to keep an eye out for unlike ground combat you have altitude horizontal vertical planes to keep an eye of. You have to compensate for the ship's air speed targets air speed and other things have to kept track of not just point and shoot and hope you hit your target it’s a whole different playing field.” I said.

“So this project was some sort of airship?” Homage asked.

“Not just any airship Homage a prototype for a stealth Raptor Dragon Killer class Military Ship Heavily armed and armored fast agile able to take out a dragon witch would take quite a bit of military strength to kill or drive off. Dragons are hard to kill I have faced dragons in the line of duty and have even taken out Zebra snipers that would ride on the dragons to support them so they can do whatever the job they were sent to do without fear of being overwhelmed by Defenders trying to take them out.” Navigation and weapon power matrix regulator was needed to complete the ship I now have them, The raptor can be completed and be fully operational just need to find the ponies I can train to crew her effectively. Plus I need to find ponies to operate the bases equipment need ponies who are willing to work the Hydroponic gardens who will be able to help spread the foods grown there around to the settlements. I need ponies that i can work with and trust to help set up supply lines create convoys with guards making sure that they make it to the settlements town and cities bring food water medical supplies and knowledge.” I said.

“I do what I can to help you in any way possible.” Homage said.

“Homage I know that ponies are needing help that settlements cities and so on need assistance I need ponies I would be able to trust to send out on missions If i'm stuck training everything at once it will be a long time before everything pays off. I need to at least get ponies I can train in the fields that can be taught. So they can teach others. I need to train trainers so I can be out there helping. I need somepony that I can leave In charge. I need to get the Bases communications equipment operational So orders can be carried passed along to the ponies out in the field. This would have been easier had my ponies survived. I can not give up I have a duty to Equestria a mission too complete to protect and help rebuild Equestria I will not let this wasteland defeat me. I am only One Pony but a pony That will help others not out of duty but because its the right thing to do no matter what tribe a pony is Earth Unicorn Pegasi we all are ponies EUP. United we are stronger Divided we will fail and fall each and every single pony has things to offer Pegasi can control the weather earth ponies have unparalleled ability to grow things healthily yet quickly. Unicorns can offer thing of the arcane that the other tribes lack not one tribe is better than the others when it comes down to it We are ALL PONIES no matter how you look at it take the horns off Unicorns and wings off pegasi and what you get an earth pony add a pair of wings and or horn to a earth pony what do you get A pegasus or unicorn.” I said.

“Those are some strong words you just spoke General. They are so true too no pony is better than another unicorns can use magic pegasi can fly and earth ponies have great strength get all three working together in harmony would be great to heal the damage mend the heart of the land supporting one another to accomplish a goal to better our chances of survival. Helping each other out to better ourselves not to fight amongst each other. And what of the pegasi who have not been seen often yet seem to be everywhere.” Homage said.

“I do not have any answers to that question Homage and it saddens me that I may very well be forced to fight ponies of my own tribe who have been misguided or lead to think they are better than anypony else if that was true the wasteland would already be a safe place to live in. Also everything I said will take time it isn’t an instant fix training can take years to teach properly. We have medical training manuals as well as the autodocs and Medical droids to who can Teach ponies how to do medical procedures. That alone is eight years of study and knowledge to learn not everything can be healed with a healing potion. Sure it helps to have them but to be a true medical pony it would take years of study years of learning to be certified as a Doctor. Right now I am focused on things that can help now. The hydroponics are in operation being tended by droids that pack water and grow the food that Myself and Team have been eating. Even we have cut down on things we would not wish to give up. I offer a lot of things. That will take time to get set in place Caravans and Convoys can easily be set up training guards for said caravans and convoys can again be done pretty quickly. Training a pony to fire a weapon or in any weapon doesn’t take too long but still requires some time a month at least getting ponies that would be willing to be guards for a convoy or caravan can easily be arranged I know one such caravan owner. If she passes the reins of the caravan over to her fillies who are residents of this tower I could easily set up a supply route with Tenpony If i can get ponies that will be willing to be trained say I get 10-20 ponies I can train them how to fight how to defend themselves and how to protect within a few weeks to a month I can have ponies that have training and survival training. Weapons and armor that are not going to fail on them. With 24 pegasi I can have an area green and radiation free for cropland that is provided I have earth and unicorns as well helping with that Training Pegasi how to manage the weather will be easy for me and Storm to teach don’t need to have Droid to teach that. When Cloudsdail was hit the pegasi abandoned Equestria Storm and I heard the Recall orders on our Com systems from what was Pegasi High Command none of the pegasi in our unit responded to that recall they closed the sky with clouds to protect from what I understand was the last pegasi cities and pegasi literally trapping the fallout from the megaspells below the clouds should the clouds have not stayed equestria wouldn't be a wasteland would have been able to recover naturally. But with the cloud cover the air currents changed and picked up Celestia and Luna could not drop that shield they had up even after the device was used in Canterlot what you refer to as pink cloud also known by Me and Storm as the Littlehorn agent. The Zebras wanted that shield and the traitors are probably the only reason Luna and Celestia are not here today they are probably in spirit considering the moon and sun are still there rising and setting.” I said with a sad sigh.

“Feral Canterlot ghouls are hard to kill.” Homage said.

“So there are types of ghouls?” I asked.

“Sure there are the ones that are still sane Like Ditzy then you got your normal ghoul again like Ditzy that are not sane Feral then you got Canterlot Ghouls and Feral Canterlot Ghouls they're harder to kill some are sane others are not but they take a lot more to kill one best way to make sure a ghoul is dead decapitate them it’s pretty much the only way to kill a Canterlot ghoul they will fall down then you hear a sound and next thing you know there attacking again removing the head is the only thing anypony that has faced a Canterlot ghoul has said.” Homage said.

Getting on the Com unit. “Standing orders for all Feral Ghoul encounters blow the heads off remove them completely.” I said getting a response back by Misty “Yes Ma’am.”

“Anyway Homage it was good talking to you again not a word of what you learned is to be said to anypony I know there is a group here that runs this tower. Descendants of the MAS Personnel that survived when the magaspells went off the shields held which is a good thing this tower is important I have a feeling don’t ask me how but I think this place has a role to play in the near future only time will tell. I will help anypony out that I can while traveling We do need ponies I want to help as many as possible.” I said.

“Before you go can you set that link up?” Homage said I nodded and followed her to EBS once there I quickly selected the correct lines linking a com line with my Pipbuck and the tortoise.

“Ok that should work I have used an encryption key given to me by Rainbow Dash that can secure a line from all recording device I have set it up to do so each time you select that com line will tie me in I will get an alert on the Pipbuck and com systems in the Tortoise when you activate that line again use it briefly I have no clue if the enclave can monitor the broadcasts you send out. If so then they already are aware of me and my team but not where we came from.” I said getting a nod from her after showing her what button to push to talk to me.

“Storm please go relieve the Corporal so she can get some more ammo and other things I’m going to find Daisy and see How she is doing after that I will see about getting us some medical supplies that we are low on and go from there.” I said getting a nod from Storm Wing.

“Oh better yet tell her to get what she needs but Wait for me when it comes to dealing with that old coot of a security chief.” I said.

“Will do Ma’am.” Storm Replied with a crisp salute which a returned.

Storm and I returned to the lift to go back down to the main floor.

“I do not know Stormy We do not know what is going on with this Redeye pony we know about some of the dangers the wasteland has Hellhounds tant other things Slavers Raiders Enclave and Steel Rangers. Just looks like our job just gets more and more troubling and dangerous.” I said to my friend.

“I know Cj we have to push through it and work with what we got to work with there are ponies that will pull together once they figure that there are ponies who are willing to help.” Storm Wing said as the doors opened we went our separate ways for the time being.

It wasn’t hard to find the Armorer shop considering there was a parked wagon in front of it. I walked in through the open doors and found Daisy holding two Mares in a hug while they were crying. Daisy noticed me entering. “Girls I want you to meet one of the mares that saved me and escorted me here. Before I do though there has been talk between you father and I for some time now as you are aware even when you two were growing up traveling with us. Before you decided to live here and work your shop remember how I would always try and help ponies while we were in a town or city?’ She asked.

“Yes mom we do remember that we also know that you like to help ponies we do to when we are able to that’s why we have our shop and send our wares out with you and dad to sell around but why talk about this now after learning everything thats happened to you.” The two asked.

“The ponies that helped Misty and I are from an old group like I was apart of before I met your father Not the Steel Rangers but a Military group that was thought to be lost and not around anymore Two ponies of this group survived and woke up the day before meeting us they helped us repaired our weapons gave Misty a new weapon even helped her learn the ins and outs of maintaining said weapon Misty joined their group at New Appleloosa She got new armor and a battle saddle that quite frankly scares the buck out of me. I’ve never been really good with the business of traders life I guarded our caravan more than I was a partner in it though I learned quite a bit from your father. I failed. I failed again lost the stallion that I held dear. I can not let another pony I care about get hurt I want to pass the reins for the caravan to you girls and join Misty in helping to protect Ponies like I swore an oath to do when I joined the Steel Rangers. Only to learn that they had misinterpreted the oaths meaning as one not to protect ponies or tribles as they call the wastelanders but to protect the technology of the Ministry any tech not just stuff from MWT but all tech the would kill somepony just because they refused to leave their home often times killing entire population of a stable still in closed operation. Or so I have heard it has happened before just so the stables equipment could be acquired. I swore to help ponies not kill and steal from them.” Daisy said to her girls.

“Mom you want to fulfil that oath don’t you and joining this group will help you do so?” One asked.

“Yes Sunshine. It would allow me to put my full training to use and the knowledge I know from my time as a ranger would benefit them greatly plus i would get to wear armor that would protect me better than most armors can. Even yours but will not stop ap ammo not many armors are able to stop that type of ammunition.” Daisy said.

“I take it that wagon you parked up front is what’s left of the caravan and the supplies you where to deliver here at Tenpony? Did you manage to get what we asked for?” The other one said.

“Yes to both questions Rosey. The wagon is a gift from the group and has been armored and has the room to place everything in an organized fashion with room to spare plus they offered assistance should you require it be it in training ponies as guard escorts to even escorting themselves.” Daisy said.

“I see so we are going to have a caravan wagon helpful ponies to escort us should we need it and what if we have left of dad is on the wagon is last run.” Sunshine said.

I watched quietly noticed that Sunshine took after her mother in coat and Rosey was more of a rose coloration in mane and tail with a pinkish coat. Kind of reminds me of Roseluck one of the flower trio.

“Girls I wouldn’t be any good taking your father’s place sure I know trading from your father I know guarding because of training I have always been wanting to help everypony I can our last run I was only able to get a few ponies to come with us on the trip Misty as always was there she was dependable was willing to help because it was the right thing to do not necessarily for the caps. Like most I have to Higher for guard work mercs are not cheap when it comes to guard duty always want to have some upfront to equip or get ammo or repairs for armor or what not.” Daisy said. “I will not abandon you girls I love you. So much that's why I want to help them so we do not lose more caravans or even the few convoys that form up from time to time at the moment there is only three ponies I would make four I want to help not just one but all that can be helped. If i had the proper equipment He would still be with us the Ambush would have failed but instead we were caught unprepared had no warning first round took out him and betsy down then took the other guards we went for cover then the group showed up saved me and Misty taking out the raiders. “Ok mom we'll figure something out on getting the caravan going again after all we got ponies who depend on it. I do not fully understand what it is that is troubling you mom but I’ll do what I can to help.” Sunshine and Rosey said.

It has the same protective capability as the Steel Rangers Armor yet is light and agile for a pegasus to wear Normally standard weaponry are Nova surge Rifles and missile pods depending on the training of the users of the armor. I am not enclave so I would not like to be called one I am equipped for Long Range and heavy Tactical support on my right I have a .50 Cal Anti Machine Rifle and Nova surge rifle on my left a 7.0 mm Minigun and of course my missile pods. Oh before i forget my manners I am General Cloud Striker of the Equestrian Airguard a pleasure to meet the two of you.” I said to the stunned Mares

“The Equestrian Airguard are you from the war?” Rosey asked.

“Yes I am. So is my Second in Command Captain Storm Wing. We were placed in kind of a cold deep sleep that finally ended about a week ago 200 other ponies went through the same process we did and woke up 17 years ago only to die trapped in the room they were in because of a forced jammed door. Met your mother shortly after leaving been traveling the wasteland since then.” I said.

“Oh and before you say anything this armor weighs more powered down then it does powered up. The enchantments placed on the armor allow me to use all of my abilities as a pegasus like cloudwalk and manipulate clouds and not fall through them when landing on them. You could in fact throw me with little trouble.” I said.

“Oh there you are Ma’am.” says a voice behind me as Misty came around to stand next to me.

“Damn guards took my ammunition the moment the Captain relieved me giving all the ammunition back to the Captain that was hers.” Misty said.

“Well it is there job Corporal after all.” I said.

“Hi Rosey, Sunshine How you two doing?” Misty asks.

“Misty Sparks.” both Rosey and Sunshine said before walking and inspecting the armor. “Mid power reinforced and enhanced Unicorn Armor. Heavy Assault combat shotguns very rare shotguns if I’m not mistaken.” Rosey said with comments from Sunshine.

I laughed getting one from Daisy and Misty too. “Oh boy this is fun just wait until you see your mother in her armor Should we come back which will be more likely provided that damn old coot doesn’t stop us from even coming in Misty had to stand guard of our equipment was more afraid somepony may try something but regs also required that i post a guard.” I said.

“Oh you shouldn’t have to worry about that nothing would have happened to your gear or equipment one of the laws here is no stealing theft anypony caught doing anything raider like is executed if you're a resident or band from the tower if it is a guest.” Sunshine said.

“In regards to the Caravan yes I am willing to train personnel to be guards for the caravan and offer you a business opportunity with the caravan you could make it a convoy offering many types of goods from food stuffs to weapons and ammo to armor. I have at my disposal to supply such things. I just need ponies who I can train to guard such a convoy 20 at most to cover the convoy would take a few weeks to train them a month at the most. But they be guards for said convoy and part of the group under my command they wouldn’t need ammunition because I would provide such depending on the size of the convoy Possibilities of adding a armored and armed craft to help protect convoy might be possible. This is all of course things that can happen.” I said.

“What would this cost us though running a caravan is not cheap guard escorts alone can be tough to do even on a good run plus there isn’t a group out there willing to do what you are suggesting we do.” Sunshine said.

“I am not a merc nor am I a pony out to cheat ponies out of there pay I am able to do things that no pony can and offer things nopony can because of what I am an Equestrian Military General that is Sworn to protect the ponies of Equestria. I will be providing them with the gear ammunition and weapons that would be used to defend the convoy from attacks they would avoid high trouble routes taking a more safer route to the destination each ponie of the guard team would be equipped with gear that would not only help them fight they would be in armor that allows them to move quickly not tire them out but still has them using their skills effectively each pony I train will be trained in the use of a weapon best suited to them Sniper for me long range has always been a thing for me. They will be effective with said weapons and as long as the convoy is making trips they can gather up raw materials that could be used effectively like scrap metal fuses anything that would be considered junk could be offloaded. To be repurposed. I do not offer this lightly. Your mother knows of what I speak of she has agreed to keep it a secret until it is truly able to be properly and fully used.” I said.

“So you would provide security for this caravan or convoy and all your asking is to provide you with junk and scrap metal that me and my sister use in our business of making armor.” Rosey said.

“I will not take from you what you need to do business with here in Tenpony by no means should i have the ponies needed they would be guarding the caravan convoy with the best that the military can provide in weapons and armor I might not a lot of armors that would be good as mine or your mother’s armor most armor i have that is an equal is for pegasi I need to get a few things out of the deal to you would be making a profit on this I am getting material that I will need to have stock of at some point so why not stockpile it scrap metal fuses other things I will draw up a list of things that will be a requirement at some point. You would be getting food medical weapons ammunition even water to trade and barter with to help ponies in need. Traders merchants caravan owners they each have a part to play they bring things others need that can help them survive and protect what's theirs, Equestria needs ponies willing to help bring things that can help them.” I said.

“We shall think about it sounds like you have more going on then you have ponies to help.” they said.

“Girls You have no Idea how much of a headache the road I have ahead of me is I have literally 3 ponies under my command when I am supposed to have a thousand I had 200 but that ended 17 years ago would have been easier had they survived or was able to wake me but they couldn’t. So I have ponies to train in fields that are not easy to learn that can take many years to fully train ponies to do training guards are easy once you know what to train them in and they pick up on it simple after that. Things I can teach ponies though takes time I can’t just clap my hooves and say some silly words and poof it happens and done doesn’t work that way no matter how we look at it things will take time to put into full effect.” I said getting nods from the girls.

“That we can agree with time is not always kind when things like this are being worked out we still have to figure out how we would run the caravan since mom has officially hoofed us the reins of it to us so to speak. Sunshine said.
“I understand believe me I told your mother several times to think and talk things out with you she knows about what I am able to accomplish and is sworn to secrecy If you do decide to give it a try and want to have us protect your investment Slip a message to Homage Dj Pon3 assistant to notify us we will make arrangements to meet up. So we can discuss what happens then. If you do higher ponies to protect the caravan I’ll offer them the means to do the job better than anypony has ever been able to just make sure the message slip has To General on it that way she knows how to give it to me I’ll inform her myself that I made this arrangement with you.” I said getting a nod from them.

“Daisy why not spend time with your fillies Misty and I have some supply shopping to do.” I said as I looked around at the armor and clothes.

Giggling “No sorry just an old habet I tend to look at things especially when it comes to clothes I see a lot of things that have been found in decent shape I take it you use what you have available when making something.” I said getting a nod.

“We do make things brand new so to speak our own designs Sunny and I would wonder around looking for anything fabric wise we would sometimes find bolts of fabrics intact and in good shape we would save them for special orders My sister and I work together to make an armor I normally am the one making the barding she provides the armor sheets after forging metal plates for said barding unless it’s completely out of metal and only need clothe padding to prevent chaffing. Sometimes we enjoy competing with each other just to see what we can do.” Rosey said.

“Well girls I might just have to stop back in but we do have shopping to do.” I said getting nods of understanding.

Turning to Misty. “Let’s go corporal let’s check the clinic first I have to compose myself before I deal with that old coot.” I said getting a nod.

The Clinic wasn’t too hard to find. As we entered I looked at the clinic name helping hoof. A Earth pony stallion stepped up. “How may I help you I am Dr Helping hoof.” The buck said.

I looked at him then Looked at Misty then back to Him and try as i might I could not help but Laugh. The buck looked put on sometime.

“Sorry Dr. But I met the doctor that started The helping Hoof clinic’s and She was a very special pony took a lot of guts to put a drug rehabilitation clinic near the MoM hub wasn’t widely known that Pinkie Pie didn’t like the contraband laws passed and was an Addict of PTM’s something she made herself. So taking the name Helping hoof, at least I assumed you changed your name.” I said he nodded. “ Anyway we came in to Buy some supplies medical supplies we have a long trip ahead of us but we will not take anything that you are required to have also Should you be interested Talk to Dj Pon 3’s assistant I might be able to assist you with some medical training I have learned during Basic training back during the war. I am just a Field Medic but that is a lot more closer to being certified doc then most from what I seen so far.” I said.

“You were around since the war?” He looked concerned.

Shaking my head I sighed Taking my helmet off “Sorry about that it’s easier for me to keep the helmet on that way I do not forget it I am not a ghoul and I am not Enclave so don’t even start on that load of pony pies.” I said.

“Oh yes the medical supplies. Well I have a few things that I can barter with plus we can offer a vast selection of spells for unicorns including medical spells like healing mending anesthetic spells. And so on.” Said the buck.

“Really you sell spells here?” I asked.

“Well teaching of spells more like it my assistant Hearts Bloom is somewhat gifted when it comes to magic he has learned every spells he has read almost.” The doc said.

“I see so this unicorn Hearts Bloom can teach a spell to a unicorn that might be useful.” I Looked at MIsty.

“Misty would you be willing to try learning some Medical magic?” I asked her.

“I can definitely see the advantages of being able to cast a healing spell or even a mending spell I’ll give it a shot not sure of what spells I learn but I’ll give it a Shot.” She said.

Misty went with Hearts Bloom to learn some spells three main spells she went after was Healing Anesthetic and mending. She did learn them had quite the knack it seems to learn the spells.

Anyway as Misty was learning magic I was bartering with the Doc for medical supplies managed to get a few potions radaway and medx. That was about it so I thank him for his time and had to Pull Misty away.

“I was having fun learning Spells Ma’am Not every day I got to learn something new not many unicorns so I used to stumble upon a few like levitation and lighting the way which is just a ball of light that follows you.” MIsty said.

“Did you learn all the spells he offered up?” I asked.

“Most of them I can cast healing, anesthetic, meding and some useful spells that usually a unicorn should know.” Misty replied.

“That is good that will be of great help to the team and so on we will check the medical spells back at base see if you can learn any of them…” I said trailing off when I spotted the Spa.

“A Spa.” I squealed in delight. “I totally forgot that Twilight had those two here.” I said happily.

Misty looked at me in surprise and a bit shocked. “You ok Ma’am?” She asked.

“Yes I am have you ever been to a spa before Misty?” I asked getting a shake of her head.

“Well then you're in for a treat.” I said as I dragged her in though the open doors.

The two matrons of the spa where more than happy to take our caps for the full treatment. “I did have to ask if they new how to care for a pegasus wings? They did assure me that they learned but never had much opportunity to use such techniques.” I asked and they said.

The next hour was heavenly for me after stripping out of our armors we got pampered It had been a long time since I last visited a spa. To say I was a happy filly would be an understatement. Having a hoof a cur full body massage including wings minus the erotic episode I was feeling better then I had in a long time. We left the Spaw thanking the mares profusely.

“My goodness that felt wonderful” Misty chimed in.

“Yes that is what I was needing I must tell Storm this So she could get a massage and a chance to relax as well they were nice and didn’t judge me or called me anything but a customer.” I said with a satisfied sigh I felt so relaxed no stiff muscles and my wings didn’t hurt but there was a slight tingle to them from the wing care which was natural.

We went to deal with the old coot for ammunition for Misty’s battle Saddle although we could pick more up when we resupplied at the base I decided it was best to have as much ammo as possible for her in case we needed to defend ourselves.

Dealing with Chief Grim Star was not easy he was more or not trying to get ammo off us then selling us ammo. “For the Last time I will not sell or trade you our ap rounds at this time we need all the ammunition we can carry without weighing us down too much that is why we have the tortoise and a secondary wagon to carry things we will need plus things we can use as trade unfortunately we do not have any trade goods on us at this moment. Everything on the tortoise and wagon are vital equipment for the mission we have been on the moment the bombs fell and we awoke.” I said sighing.

After an hour we got a hundred rounds for Misty’s saddle plus beanbags and Rubber bullets for my weapons surprisingly enough even for the minigun. We left quickly and Misty and I left to relieve Storm. I left Misty to guard the supplies again and dragged my long time friend to the Spa to be pampered. The look on her face an hour later was one of a very happy mare.

“Celestia it has been so long since the last time I took a moment for myself.” Storm Wing said as she put her armor back on.

“I know what you mean. Btw there Descendants of Aloe and Lotus they were here remember Twilight wanted to have a place where she could relax and It was Raritys Idea.” I said

“No wonder they knew how to do that.” Storm said and I couldn’t help but giggle.

“Maybe we should turn in the armors for a bit and be all girly and pamper ourselves to some dresses dance the night away.” I said laughing at the look on Storm’s face.

“Just kidding Storm You know me.” I said getting a sigh from Storm.

“Ma’am sometimes it’s hard to tell when you're joking or being serious A habit I see that you picked up from RD.” Storm said.

“I have one stop to make got to let Homage know of an arrangement should Daisy’s girls wish to open trade routes with us at the base we will of course have to make sure we have things worth trading.” I said getting a nod from Storm in understanding.

Letting Homage know didn’t take to long taking a look at the time I sighed. “We might want to see if we can get lodging for the night. It is getting late.” I said getting a nod from Storm Wing.

Getting lodging wasn’t hard explaining to Grim star that we had to stay the night was the hard part kind of wish I didn’t have to deal with him he was a complete jerk all he wanted was our ammunition like it was the only thing that mattered. We set up a rotation for guarding the equipment between the four of us since Daisy officially joined and was sworn in in front of her fillies. “You will get your armor when we get to where we stashed it.” I had said and she accepted the first watch.

The night was peaceful nothing happened no security breaches no theft of ammunition attempts that was the main thing that worried me.

Daisy said her goodbyes to her fillies and the caravan wagon was moved to the location to be stored. And we got ready to head out I took the tortoise and Storm hooked up to the Supply wagon. Homage was there to see us Off. “Dj wanted me to pass a message along to keep your eyes and ears open.” Homage said I nodded. “Will do.” I replied.

We left the tower and had all of our ammunition returned I counted it matched the registered amount for each type. We all had our armors on. As we left the sight of Tenpony Daisy hopped into the supply wagon and Misty in the tortoise and we took flight. “Ok girls first stop New Appleloosa we have to inform Ditzy that the special order is not needed anymore but can be changed to any enclave and or steel ranger gear that might be found would be helpful.” I said getting agreements from them.

As we flew we spotted Calamity. “Hold up I spotted somepony we should speak to for a moment.” I said getting a giggle from Storm for she spotted the rather handsome stallion as well. They seemed to be making there way to something. “Hey Calamity up here.” I said catching his attention.

“Oh hey gal’s how’s it going.” He asked.

“Good we are on our way out of Tenpony and we spotted yea skulking around. And thought it would be a good idea to ask you a question.” I said.

“Oh what question would that be.” I asked.

“A dragon Really?” I asked.

“Eeyup we faced a dragon killed it to but wasn’t an easy fight.” Calamity said.

“Well be careful out there Calamity we have to places to go ponies to help.” I said.

“Will do talk to yeah later.” Calamity said.

We flew off and took one look back was surprised when a tag on my pipbuck registered a Trixies cottage. But other than that it was so peaceful to be flying again.

“How is everything back there Misty Daisy?” I asked.

“Tight fit but comfy ma’am.” came Misty’s reply

“Other than this box poking me in the flank ever shift in the wagon from time to time I can’t complain.” Daisy said that got both me and Storm to pause for a moment.

“Daisy are you okay.” I asked. There shouldn’t be anything shifting back there.” Storm replied

“Let’s land and check the load would hate to have something come loose and we lose it. Out the back.” I said getting a nod from Storm.

“Prepare for Landing girls it might be a little rough terrain is not on our side. Plus I have to admit I’m getting a little tired haven’t pulled this much weight since that time in basic.” I said getting a same response from Storm.

“Let’s take a break and eat some Lunch keep an eye out for any trouble. Plus It will give Storm WIng and I a chance to rest our wings.” I said getting agreements from Storm and affirmatives from Daisy and Misty.

We landed as softly as we could I did hear something shift and an Owe from Daisy.

“Sounds like something came loose How long has it been poking yea Daisy?” I asked.

“About an Hour after we took flight I think I would have checked myself but I have not a lot of room back here to move.” She said as she came out of the supply wagon rubbing her flank.

The box wasn’t one of the more important boxes but it was loose after checking the rest of the equipment we determined that something must of shifted just enough to loosen the box that had material for the fabrication sections of the base. Components for the ammunition and other things needed to build weapons and enchantments for weapons. After securing the boxes making sure nothing was missing nothing was but was just checking we settled down to eat was something simple since we couldn’t get to much of the food Supplies.

We rested for an hour just keeping a lookout and talking quietly to each other about nothing to important.

“So Daisy what type of weaponry was the Armor you wore had equipped?” I asked.

“Standard Issue as far as I was aware of was a heavy ordnance Grenade Machinegun and missiles I was lucky to get one of the few left with that set up Not many are available for use ammo is hard to get so those who are specialized in them are get the few that we have.” Daisy said.

“Anything that didn’t have splash or could potentially cause a problem should you be in a close quarters fight?” I asked.

“Well they did add an additional weapon for that but Never had one equipped was a rifle similar to what Calamity uses.” Daisy said why you ask?

“Just wondering the armors we have are Steel Ranger mk 1 B’s equipped with Grenade Machineguns and missile pods customs Mind you this unit was able to customize their equipment including their armor plus all armors we were going to get where all custom able. We do have a .5 mm Minigun available for battle saddle mounting and a few other things that might be to your liking reason I asked is because I would rather not have to worry about splash damage should we get into an enclosed location and have a fight on our hooves.” I said.

“That I can understand Ma’am Mk 1 B armor is a hard and rare armor for a Steel Ranger to have Most we get nowadays is the Mk 2 variants which is a more recent model using conventional weapons sub automatics Anti Machine rifles and other such weapons we do come across on occasion supply dumps for the rangers which had armors and or ammunitions for the weapons we would claim those quickly and secure any such supplies as quickly as we could. Other then that we just got what we could get. Or so I was told.” Daisy said I can say this much if I am spotted by Rangers in armor they will try and confiscate the armor and any equipment that I may be with I will be forced to defend myself against a fellow ranger something that is not something I would want to do.” Daisy said.

“I understand Daisy but also understand you are not alone anymore you have a team that will help you when you're in need The motto of this unit is nopony is left behind You and Misty are a pair you two will work together Side by side as a team regardless if we are with you or not Storm and I are a team always have been we will pair off for missions to cover more ground if we have to do not forget that you to are a team don’t leave your teammate behind Do not wander away from them unless you have a reason and have informed them before hoof keep in mind this is different than steel rangers training you will work together as a unit not everypony for themselves kind of thing. Military training and yes you will be getting some additional training Daisy We will of course see what your are capable of and test you on what you would excel in That way we can see what we need to do. As for Misty she still needs to learn to use those Macs effectively.” I said getting nods from Misty and Daisy.

After we were done resting we got hitched back up and off we went flying. Looking at the Map location we were at then the location of New Appleloosa. “Looks like we're going to need to make New Appleloosa our stop for the night Hopefully we can make it before it is too late to enter town.” I said.

“Yes I was thinking the same thing.” Storm replied same as Misty and Daisy.

“I have to admit having these Pipbucks are very handy.” Daisy said.

“Yeah they are but your armors have the same things as the pipbucks.” Said Misty.

“No actually we have map and EFS we do not have the SATS well not until we had the pipbucks that is but still some of the functions of the pipbuck were added to our armors because they connected and integrated with it. Hard to explain but without the Pipbucks we would have EFS navigation map and compass showing where the adjective is We have built in coms and stuff but no Radio or SATS so that makes it nicer to have them though we do not need sats having it is helpful to know we have the option to use it.” I said Daisy confirming the same thing.

We landed shortly a 20 minute walk from the gate and hoofed it with Daisy and Misty trotting besides us. Supply wagon was once again being pulled by the Tortoise and Daisy was pulling for a bit.

We reached the gate sure enough Railwright was there. “Fancy meeting you again so soon.” He said.

“Look sir I do not want any trouble. We have had a long hard flight came here to conclude business Ditzy Doo and to rest for the night. We will be gone first light.” I said.

The stallion the one I always had a feeling one I didn’t really like just looked at me like he smelled something foul.

“Fine.” he said. As he let us by him. “I do not want to see you featherbrains around her in the morning.” He said causing me to pause.

“Sir I do not know what we did to deserve this kind of treatment or to be insulted. I do not call you names or speak badly behind your back Only thing I can think of is the fact that you do not like me and my friend for some reason whatever it is I can assure you I have not once fired a shot at you or made any attempt except being cordial and friendly. For Buck sakes I sold medical supplies we needed to your town out of the goodness of my heart not only that because seeing a town working together helping one another gives me hope that Equestria can recover. I will remain pleasant and peaceful but know that Should I be forced to I will defend myself.” I said before continuing “Also from what I understand you have been trying to get Calamity to stay in your little town. He is a Pegasus as well So it must be because I am a Military officer and you do not like being wrong about something I told you I was not enclave like you so adamantly claimed I was Until Ditzy vouched for us. So what is it I have no problems with you as far as I’m aware of?” I asked.

“Look I do not have a problem per say I just do not like trouble. You are an unknown to us Calamity has built trust up with us You on the other hoof are still an unknown and as yet untrusted. So do not expect friendly welcomes. We are a have to be careful with slavers and Raiders not easy if you take my meaning.” He said.

“That I can understand but know this If I was not sworn to protect Equestria I would be hard pressed to figure out why I am being treated Like I am the most disgusting thing you ever smelled plus if I wasn’t friendly and was an enclave pony You would be hard pressed to stop me from entering town I could probably eliminate every single guard in this town and lay waste to it but I am not a pony who would do something like that because I am sworn to protect not destroy.” I said with steel in my voice. “So please relax I would not harm anypony here unless forced to defend in self defense.” I said relaxing a bit.

“Fair enough.” He said also relaxing a bit.
We approached Ditzy’s store Entering I to see Ditzy and Silver Bell behind the counter. “Hi Ditzy got some business to conclude plus wanted to talk to yeah about something.” I said before getting tackled by Ditzy in a hug. I hugged Ditzy back “Missed you to Ditzy.” I said with a giggle

“Anyway Special order I asked you to look into Has been completed. What I would like to speak to you about is this I will need to get my hoofs on Pegasi armor at some point in time should you come across any pegasi power armor or armor like I use to wear when flying in the Shadow bolts with Rainbow I’ll pay good for it and any steel ranger gear and or armor I will pay good caps for as Is I am in the process of getting gear together. Daisy has officially retired from the Caravan business and has joined me The caravan is now being run by Daisy’s fillies Sunshine and Rosey from Tenpony wagon we built was greatly accepted by them and they send their thanks for the wheels and axle.” I said

“On other news Silver bell remember I said I would give you something that would help you?” I asked getting a nod from the girl. “Well I keep my promises.” I said pulling a Pipbuck out from under my wing and offer it to the filly. “This is a Delta line Pipbuck just like mine it will if need be can contact me to let me know something is wrong you're not alone little one. It has an efs a friend or foe will let you know if someone is not friendly they show up as red marks and blue ones as friendly yellow means there not sure. And are being careful.” I said as i Placed it on the fillies leg and activated she let a small gasp out. “ It will also organize your stuff in your saddlebags can even assist you in combat but I wouldn't go around fighting any bad ponies just yet get use to it.” I said getting a nod a hug and a thank you so much. “ No problem little one.” I said.

I looked to Ditzy to see she was smiling. “Yes Ditzy I gave her a pipbuck a military pipbuck do luckily they can not be removed unless with a special key which I have but I will not take something I gave her away I am not that way.” I said looking at the status screen I realized that Silver Bell was a unicorn. That just made me cry even more that I wanted to help her but didn’t know how to.

I talked to Ditzy for a little while longer just talking like the old days well me talking her writing her replies.

“I wanted to speak to you about something as well Don’t answer now Ditzy Think about it But I may need a pony liaison for traders and merchants with the you know my headquarters being what it is and all that I will need to have somepony as a go between so I can get things and or set up meetings places so I can bring them into the base by raptor now that it will be completed that is an option but I want to be able to send out supplies and other equipment plus you could be somepony I could trust to place orders I will need to get to keep on going. Daisy’s girls might start a convoy up they do not know I want to have ponies or need ponies I can train up to be guards for any convoy or caravan that hall's good from my base. I need help Ditzy I am only one pony and there is only so much four mares can do on there own.” I said.

Ditzy placed her wing on my back wrote out a short message saying “I’ll see what I can do.” “Thanks Ditzy your a true friend.” I said hugging her close. I registered my pipbuck com frequency with Silver Bells so she would know that how to talk to me for Ditzy I let Ditzy know this to showed her how to switch the function and Pop up the Comlink getting a chirp from my pipbuck I closed it down notice disappeared. “You can contact me that way just have silver relay any information from tablet to me.” I said getting a nod from Ditzy. We said our good nights as I left.

“That was nice of you General.” Misty, Daisy Storm all said

“What cant help it that little filly has gone through something no filly should have did you know she’s a unicorn.” I said getting a gasp from Misty who quickly looked away in tears shaking her head.

“I want to give her something to help her losing one pipbuck to bring Peace of mind to a filly is not to much of a price to pay I would pay more to see her happy. To take that pain away from her to erase it make it gone but no such thing exists.” I said sadly.

“Anyway girls lets get some sleep I’ll take first watch Daisy second watch Storm third and your last Corporal.” I said getting a nod from each one in turn.

My efs was up and i noticed a blue blip near me close by looking in it direction i noticed the spirit bot I motioned it to come to me. “Hello Spike.” I said quietly He responded in a quiet tone “Hello CJ. I noticed you they decided to stay with you.” he said and I noded. “So watcher what can I do for you.” I asked.

“What makes you think I need something?” He said.

I just looked at the bot. “Really Watcher you sent a filly straight out of a stable into a raiders den with only one shotgun shell no armor and or experience in combat she could have easily gotten herself killed in there not only that but you didn’t tell her that armor could have gotten her shot her friend Calamity the pegasus shot her on sight because of her armor she nearly died that time. I know you're guarding the elements Watcher I wasn’t Rainbow’s damn right hoof pony for nothing you know or at least something involving them. Your secret is safe with me watcher but be honest with her do not be so vague you want her help I am guessing it has something to do with what you're guarding. Do not forget that you are not alone watcher I may be a military officer but I am also your friend. Do not disregard that you called her a friend then corrected yourself by saying aquantens. If you want her as a friend you got to trust her Trust goes Two ways remember. Besides that how have you been.” I asked.

“Wow CJ didn’t know you cared that much. Anyway yes I’m doing alright I guess.” Watcher said.

“I can take it that this is not just a social call watcher.” I said.
“You would get that right there are some ponies that I have gotten together that are in trouble or will be if they keep on the path they are going down They need guidance but they have disregarded any advice I have given them lately there mercs for hire the job they just took will get them killed.” he said.

“Oh and what job is this that they have taken on that will get them killed?” I asked.

“From what I understand and heard there being sent to kill You.” He said.

Now that got my attention. “Really and how do you know this.” I asked.

“I was talking to them about 5 hours ago they are over by Manhattan now but they got were given a job to kill you and take all the stuff you and your companions were carrying was done through a middle pony as usual but they were given the your description and that of Storm Wings whoever it is paying them a lot of caps million or so in caps all they want is your equipment and gear everything from what I understand.” Spike said.

“Ok give me their description I will talk with them Should we meet up I will kindly tell them that they do not stand a chance and I will spare their lives.” I said.

“The leader is a dark brown colored mare with a tan mane and tail cutie mark is cross hairs the other is a Stallion I think Gray coat thestral cutie mark of the full moon with a lily then there is there other companion she has a red coat silver mane and tail do not know her cutie mark is keeps it hidden under barding there weapons very the leader is good with long range scoped weapons has a .308 cal bolt action sniper as far as i know they are not aware of your armaments or that you are military trained sniper the buck uses wing blades as well as a custom battle saddle the last member is a unicorn she uses magic as her weapon.” Spike said.

I sighed “Ok so we have three ponies one earth pony mare with a sniper a bat pony with a custom battle saddle and wing blades and a unicorn mare that uses magic as her weapon. Do you know what route they will take.” I asked.

“They are going to stop in New Appleloosa to get supplies and spend some of their advance. I have no clue if they know what you're capable of the leader isn’t stupid she will probably find some ap ammo or something just be careful I don’t want to lose another friend.” Spike said.

“We will be Spike we will be.” I said to him.

My pipbuck bleeped at me “I just uploaded pics or the ponies that are coming after you View them and please if at all possible keep them alive.” Spike said.

“I’ll try If they can’t be reasoned with though I will have to do what I must to survive My mission is too important to fail.” I said with steel.
“I hear you there CJ Twilight entrusted me with this I can not fail her.” He said before a burst of static and marching music faded away as the sprite bot flew off.

I looked through the Info Spike gave me I sent it to each of my unit members Pipbucks I continued to watch then when it came time I awoke Daisy hoofed her some coffee and went to sleep.

When I woke up in the morning I had three mares staring at me.

“Mind telling me why we have info on 3 ponies including pics one of them is the bat pony.” Storm said.

“Thank Spike for that he came to me while on watch told me this group are merc’s and are being paid a million or so caps for our equipment gear and armors and preferred dead. There going to be stopping here to get Supplies I’m going to talk to Ditzy Show her the Pic’s and say if they come in I would like to know what they pick up when they leave. Spike would like us to spare these threes lives for they were one of the groups he was hoping to have work out for what he is guarding. It didn’t turn out that way. So they turned to merc work and have been hired to acquire our equipment all of it. I have a feeling somepony doesn’t like the fact that I blew him off on selling our ammo or equipment and wants it for whatever reason of course I have no proof that he is involved but it is strange that our equipment is what they're after.” I said.

“Ok what you want to do about this CJ.” Storm asked.

“Oh I’m going to attempt parlay of course I would rather get them on our side then having to kill them. Plus I want to find out who hired them so I can find out who Is after what we are carrying.” I said.

“Ok.” Storm said.

I went into Ditzy’s store and asked her “To keep an eye out for these ponies I heard they were going to resupply here and to kindly inform me of what they bought before she could say anything I held a hoof up they been contracted to kill me. So I want to find out who hired them they want my equipment all of it not just armor ever single thing I have and my companions have plus there spending some of their advance pay which from what I understand is somewhere close to a million caps or so. Help me here Ditzy I want to know what is going on here who’s out for my equipment who wants me dead.” I said her look changed and she nodded. Then wrote “Do you still want me to do business with them?” she asked I nodded. “Only way I’ll find out what they are getting I’ll be looking out for AP rounds and other things even Spark grenades anything like that could knock out mine Daisy’s Misty’s and Storms armors Misty’s is only partly powered but she will not be able to fire her battle saddle without the power.” I said getting a nod from Ditzy.

“When they leave your shop let me know I might surprise them with overwhelming firepower Plus they have no clue what I am able to do Lol.” I said with a wink as I disappeared and then came back.

A noise I figured out was a laugh came from Ditzy. “Oh by want some more stealth bucks?” She asked.

I put some caps down and bought 3 stealth bucks that was all she had nodding I left after a hug passed Daisy and Misty a stealth buck. “Ok girls lets make it to the base we have some things to prepare for I want the raptor ready to fly Just in case When Ditzy informs me that there here in New Appleloosa we will head out and lie in wait for them When they get near I’ll Tell them to Hult and get them to back down and if that doesn’t work We have the tortoise and the Raptor to play with if need be. The stealth bucks are for a surprise I want to see if it will work. I hope it will.” I Said.

“Yes Ma’am” They all replied getting ready to move out.

“Let's get moving we have to move out If we want anytime to prepare we should head out Mount up and and let move.” I said getting Yes Ma’am’s from my unit.

We left like I said I would let quickly and quietly and were flying quickly to the our base when we got there which was close about 11 am I activated the Identification and opened the hagar remotely we flew right in and landed I secured the door and reaffirmed that the shields was up.

“Ok girls welcome to 155 Also known as the Spec Ops base of the ministry of awesome.” I said as both Misty and Daisy exited from where they were.

“OK girls lets get this gear offloaded double time it I want it out and of the Tortoise and Supply wagon place it in we will go through it Things for raptor remain here Things like Power Armors and weapons go will go to the armory supplies that we will be requiring to stay with us will be repacked into the Tortoise and or supply wagon. Thing like the pipbucks will go to the equipment vault materials will got the manufacturing storages. Put those into spaces marked for each one I mentioned now Move it.” I barked orders and they hoped to it.

An hour later we had everything arranged in piles the armors had be reassembled and standing tall with blade wings and other equipment bound for the Armory what was in the Tortoise and supply wagons were repacked all others was set to go to the armory we packed that all up and moved it to the armory then we unpacked it and place them where they went then I smiled,

“Knight Daisy Streaks step forward.” I said Daisy pause and did as I asked I looked at her.
“You have been too long without your armor Knight so I am proud to say Suit up Knight.” I said pointing at the Steel Ranger Power Armor Mk 1B that was where I pointed.

Daisy Gasped her eye tearing up at how beautiful the armor looked so new no damage nothing, “Yes Ma’am.” She said a little choked up.

I stood there and watched as Daisy looked over the armor she opened the armor and stepped in for the first time in a long time into power armor her Pipbuck beeped registering the Power Armor. The message that popped up registered the owner of the armor as Knight Daisy Streaks of the Equestrian Airguard. Power Up complete the armor closed and Daisy sighed. “Oh Ma’am it has been so long. You must of stored the ammo considering the armors ammo count is two hundred for the grenade machinegun and only Ten Missiles It is also reporting that I have weapon slots available and resupply recommended.” Daisy said getting a nod from me.

“We did indeed Dump the ammo for both armors into the armors storage we were going to take them with us but then thought otherwise. As for the weapon slots I told you these armors were all custom ordered to be weapon changeable only thing not is the missile launchers. So you have the option of a weapon besides the Grenade. I have three such weapons available that was meant for that design of armor the 5 mm Gatling, a sniper, Or you can always go with a shotgun.” I said while pointing each in turn.

“Ma’am I’ll go with the Gatling.” She said.

“Good Choice.” I said as I picked it up and moved it to the slot for it did a few things and the armors system registered the weapon and conditions of weapon and no ammo.

“Follow me Knight.” I said she did and I escorted her to the ammunition and popped 4 beens of 5 mm ammunition two standard 5 mm and two Ap 5 mm ammunition.

“Go ahead Knight this is your ammunition for your new weapon we will need get the others from the next area in the armory.” I said getting a nod as she was loading her ammo storage and sorter and watching the ammo count go up when she was done she had a over 5 thousand rounds of each type. “Ma’am how much ammo can be store in here?” She asked.

“By the look you're a bit confused Knight.” I said getting a nod

“At most we can store up to 2 thousand rounds in our armors even the one I had which is this model was not able to hold this much ammo.” She said.

“Didn’t I mention that this was a custom built armor what do you notice that is different from this armor and the one you had.” I asked

“Well Ma’am for one it moves well like it’s never been in combat or even been worn what would be the phrase straight off the assembly line plus it comfortable Like it was built for me and oh my it has all the medical systems the suit I had before system was dead was shredded by bullets we lost the ability to fix it oh my it has a repair talisman as well Larger storage capacity This Armor is a dream. I don't have to say I will not let any of them hoarding buckers get their hooves on this or any others that there might be.” She said I just laughed.

“Well we have the location of where our Shipment of Steel Ranger Armors are at there at the MoA hub in Fillydelphia We might have a tough time there I will need any and all info you might have.” I said she nodded.

“All I know from what I heard is the Steel Rangers had to abandon their citadel and have taken and fortified the Stable Tech building Redeye slavers are pushing them back As for the Hub No one probably knows about it due to the fact that it is so heavily protected or that they have picked it clean already.” Daisy said.

“I do not know of anything else Ma’am.” Daisy said.

“Ok we will figure things out that is a stop we need to go to but what we need to do is simply be ready but we have to prepare for that meaning you and Misty must work with your new armor and weapon. I want you to be good with the weapons you choice of that Gatling was not as surprising as you might have thought I to like the feel of it reminds me of a long time ago.” I said.

“Daisy nodded Yes Ma’am I’ll go to the shooting range and calibrate the weapons well on the gatling that is I know the other to weapons are pre calibrated. Before I forget you said about the other section Ma’am.” Daisy said.

I laughed and motioned for her to follow. As we got the section with missiles grenades she loaded up on missiles got the grenades for her weapons loaded and was happy with the ammo counts. I couldn’t help but smile at the little dance of joy Daisy did.

“Knight Might I suggest first and foremost that You get cleaned up. There is a full shower that I would be happy to show you where you can put your hooves up and relax while at base equipped with showers and real bathrooms.” I said getting a happy squeal from her.

Taking Daisy to the living quarters for the mare whose armor she was wearing we entered Daisy instantly liked this room I couldn’t blame her I filed that this was the her quarters and it was marked Knight Daisy Streaks in base computer. Misty was also shoon to the living area and was currently showering for the first time in awhile in clean water. Storm was stuck trying not to laugh as the mare literally was dancing in the shower. I heard commotion in the Unicorn mare that Misty was wearings room and went to investigate and found Storm rolling around on her back laughing quietly I peeked in and smirked.

Misty finished her shower got out and was all happy.

“I take it corporal that you're not shy when you shower?” I asked.

“Why should I be it's not like there are stallions here well at the moment and it’s just us mares so why should i be shy about showering.” Misty asked,.

“Good point but do not forget that your Co’s are into mares as well as stallions not that we would do anything without consents but just a word of advice Once we get more personnel including stallions there will be joint shower rooms mainly for athletic pursuits training rooms and so on do you think you could handle showering in front of a stallion cleaning up I know that there will be instances of possible sexual active happening in the showers I might Just have to keep the Stallions and Mares separate for the time being. I have no problems with it myself as long as I am not forced into something I do not want I do not have a problem. What You think Misty should we have separate showers for mares and stallions.” I asked.

“Oh um well yes I would think that would be a wise precaution. After all would you wash in front of a complete stranger. Who you have no clue of their past.” Misty said.

I nodded “Relax Misty I was just testing you. We do have showers in here for both stallion and mare to shower separately and you do have a point we will limit access to sections of the base to ponies who do not need to have access mainly any and all trader activity will be conducted in the hangar. Have the parts been installed yet Storm on the Raptor?” I asked.

“No Ma’am The assistant construction droid was in charging they been busy maintaining the ship I have Placed the parts near the pod will notice it upon activation and will be able to Install the components.” Storm said.

“Very good Keep me apprised. Come Misty you and Daisy are due on the firing range.” I said.

Misty follows me after quickly drying and putting her armor back on we exit Misty’s chambers and bump into Daisy In full Armor I nodded. “Good to see yeah Daisy feeling better after that shower?” I asked her.

We pause in the armory picking up more ammo for Misty who was bouncing happily.

I couldn’t help it and giggled along with Storm and the mares exuberance. Once we got to the range I stopped and turned to them.

“Ok Ponies listen up we are going to be testing you on your weapon skill as well as how well you are with said weapons as well as calibrate the gatling on Daisy’s saddle so she doesn't hit what she isn’t aiming for and to train you both in the use of the weapons more effectively then Am and pull the trigger. Corporal Misty Sparks Captain Storm Wing will oversee your test she Is a trained spotter part of an A class team she will test you on ur use of the midrange sniper help you and teach you if necessary in how to work that rifle to the best you can I will of course be along after testing out and helping Daisy to help then we will switch I’ll be helping you and Storm Daisy then you will both be placed together and a live combat drill will be conducted testing out your team work each one of you will be given the opportunity to test leadership potential. For this exercise Daisy will be in charge due to previous training “ I said getting nods from Misty and Daisy Storm was standing next to Misty.

“Let Go Corporal.” Storm said.

The calibrations took a bit but once completed Daisy impressed even me with her shooting. “Very good Knight let’s see if you can keep that up Under pressure” as I pressed a button and targets began to move not just Zebra but pony foals and such she pulled the trigger and popped off shots I held up a hoof she stopped. Alright you attempted which is good and did very well but civilian injuries were to be avoided as much as possible always know when to fire and when not to could mean life or death for somepony. This is a test to see how you handle situations on the fly. We have to keep thinking always moving in battle you not careful you're dead keep an open mind stay calm is the key in any combat situation. Keep that in mind at all times and you will be fine also do not forget you have a team you help them and they help you support each other regardless of the outcome.” I said Daisy took every word to heart she didn’t mess up the test she flew through it. “At ease Knight take a moment to maintain your weapons clean them you and your teammate will be working together soon enough for the joint test but maintaining your weapons is key keep that in mind well maintained gear will never fail you.” I said before turning and walking over to where Storm and Misty was at.

Catching Storm's eye I motioned for her to join me. “Keep it up Corporal I’ll be right back.” Storm said.

“How she doing Storm?” I asked.

“Surprisingly good she’s got a knack for shooting you will of course have to teach her how to use the scope to its full potential.” Storm said getting a hmmm out of me.

“Go help Daisy she’s cleaning or should be cleaning her weapons.” I said getting a nod from Storm

I stood next to Misty put a hoof on her shoulder. “Misty how much use of a scope have you done?” I asked.

“Not a lot ma’am I think i have used maybe 3 weapons with a scope before this.” Misty said.,

“I see alright this is going to be a different kind of test you are going to learn why I always had a spotter when I would snipe and what all those knobs and wheels are for on the scope themselfs.” I said.

“Ma’am the Knobs and wheels on the scope are to adjust the scope to fit the shooting conditions you may have to compensate for.” Misty said getting a smile from me.

“Ah you have done either research into this or have some knowledge of scopes. That is correct Misty they are to adjust targeting to take into account of conditions you have a 20 mph wind coming for the North East you want to adjust accordingly or the wind will through off your shot you must account for more than just wind all conditions of the location must be considered. We shall see how well you do later for now your adequate with that rifle let's move on to your Shotguns and I can just tell you have been waiting for this.” I said.

“Alright Misty select 3 round burst take aim and fire a at your target keep in mind of the Kick and that these weapons have and brace yourself. As you get use to it you will be able to instinctively brace even while moving once you have learned the ins and outs of the weapons you wield.” I said as Misty braced herself. I was lucky I had my helmet on.

BLAM BLAM BLAM damn things sounded like cannon firing even braced as she was she slid back a foot. Misty Squealed in absolute delight looking at her target there was nothing left of it.

“Okay It seams you love heavy weaponry good to know.” I said as I shook my head.

Looking over to Daisy and Storm they had hit the deck. “Damn ok now I know why you went to the clinic after you tested one of those glad she’s got that reinforced power armor.” Storm said.

“Storm Daisy the armors we have would be able to handle them just fine the fact that I never wanted one isn’t because I can't handle it it’s because I can’t fly and use the damn things there not enchanted to work with pegasi armor they could work for Daisys just fine because the weapon in question was designed for Steel Ranger armor the fact that a unicorn in our unit had two of them was no small feat.” I said.

Turning back to Misty who was dancing again. “Very good Corporal how do you feel?” I asked.

“Good Ma’am been awhile since I had a good challenge to conquer. This weapon system will provide me that.” Said Misty.

“Ok keep going at least attempted to not get pushed back at all.” I said getting a Yes Ma’am.

Misty continued her target practice for the next hour and was successful in not getting pushed back she quickly got the hang of the weapon. She was happy that she is doing something she was enjoying.

“Ok Ponies we have the team drill you to will be working together to counteract the Drones we will be releasing this is live fire exercises so mind your teammate and your efs The drones are using low grade ammunition that will leave a mark on your armor kind of like a dot the objective is not to be hit in a critical area that could be considered life threatening if untreated Unlike Misty your armor will be able to heal you Daisy misty’s is not the fully powered armors like ours so keep an eye out for her if she’s hit she will need treatment even we will if hit in the right places. Secondary objective is to eliminate the threat the drones pose. Third objective of this exercise is to promote teamwork working together to help one another Also it’s to help you learn to avoid taking unnecessary risks power armor is strong it’s one of the bests armors you can get takes training to use properly that doesn’t mean you can just walk out into the middle of a battle kill all the enemies there that would be crazy and a waste you know that Ap rounds can go through your armor so using caution is always advised. Keep that In mind now get going you have 30 minutes to clear the field.” I said.

Storm and I watched them move staying close but not in the way Misty got first kill Daisy started to really show what training she had and took out almost 10% of the drones released Daisy and Misty both got hit in non vital areas but would improve with time they cleared the course in 25 minutes.

“Not bad you two Not bad at all stand down from combat secure your weapons and report to the Hagar.” I said getting Yes Ma’ams

Ten minutes later they were standing in front of me in the hagar. “Good Job you two only minor injuries sustained not bad at all for the first time running that simulation. You will of course be running it again until no injuries are acquired then the next level and once you master that the next after that. You have to be prepared for all possible avenues of attack do not forget we have enemies out there capable of strong magic enemies that are organized and have more pony power then we do at the moment. We need to be careful and use caution when entering an unknown or we can be taken by surprise.” I said.

“Girls I am not pushing you to do any of this I just want to be prepared not one of you has had any true military training I noticed that even you Daisy have are lacking in training Not to the fault or yourself but because nopony in the current Rangers is a skilled trainer you all rely heavily on the armors protection working to overcome the weight of the armor not necessary combat maneuvers yes you learned to fight with your armor you learned to use the enhanced targeting systems of the armor and how to wield the weapons effectively but if a ranger from my days was here he would have passed that solo with no injuries not because of skill but because training kicked in Military training is kind of like conditioning you learn and do things in such a way when combat happens training takes over and you do things without thinking about it keeping an eye out for enemies trying to sneak up behind you and so on so forth. That is what we are trying to do give you two an edge in combat so you do not panic and are able to stay in control.” I said getting nods from both of them.

“Permission to speak Ma’am” Daisy asked.

“Always Daisy if something's on your mind speak I welcome comments and feedback Unlike some CO’s I listen to my ponies.” I said.

“Ma’am why put us through such tests if we can do the job.” Daisy asked

“Ah a valid question.” I said let me show you girls why I wish to put you through these tests. Storm You're with me.” I said

Following We went back to the Testing Facility and I input the test and level 5. “Ok You will see why Storm and I work so well together and why training is useful skill can help overcome some things But know this the level Me and Storm are facing is 4 levels about yours we are not doing our own level because we do not have a full team to work with.” I said.

“Let’s go Storm We have to show them why training is important.” I said getting a sigh from Storm. “Well at least I get to see how well this will work.” Storm said with a smile.

We entered the training area. “Ok girls Press the start button.” I said.

Storm and I locked and loaded. The drones came in well organized and random orders we knew this was going to be tough but we have faced this before. I signaled Storm she nodded She popped up Fired off a few shots as I moved up I in turn did the same Laying down covering fire taking out targets in the process Storm Arrived and we both broke cover weapons hot we had noticed that they were trying to surround us so we used the this as an opportunity to clear the way. It worked beautifully I took out 9 and Storm got 9 we eliminated the threat all except the big one. With caution we approached the location of the last read mark and we were working as a team we popped around and popped the last drone. The buzzer sounded the end of the training exercise. “That Fillies is what a well trained team can do if they know each other well and can communicate with a simple look or gesture and or motion. You too can do what we just did with training. I do wish we had the months and years to train up. As Storm and have had but we do not have that luxury we must train every opportunity we get while at base. It might sound impossible or even look impossible that we manage to do what we just did but it is possible if training is done right and skill comes into play. There is a weakness you must never think you're better than anypony we have the training you girls lack year’s of training but we can fix that with time. Talk with each other find what you might have in common working with a teammate is as important if not more so than individual training. I promote comradery and friendships in my unit because without friendship a unit can not function at its top performance. You two have just witness 5 years of extensive physical mental training paying off for Storm and I we are by far not the best officers out there but we do know our limits.” I said looking at the two shocked mares.

“Wow Ma’am I have to say I am impressed. You're saying we can do that too if we trained hard and work together?” Daisy asked.

“Yes Daisy Misty you both can do what just happened if you trained it is not impossible but we will not push training every moment we are here. This is also a chance for us to rest relax and not always having to be on alert for an attack. Or standing guard watches.” I said getting giggles out to them.

“Here here.” you can say that again ma’am” They said.

“So relax and for a while get comfortable take a load off your hooves talk We could even put the too of you as bunkmates so that you can be comfortable around each other. That is up to you though Also resupply your ammunition.” I said getting an affirmative.

Storm and I returned to the Hangar to check on things the maintenance droid was working on the raptor I approached it and it paused in its work. “Has the equipment we brought for the raptor been installed?” I asked it replied that it has been installed and everything is operational all checks have cleared with a slight power fluctuation in the dorsal engine which it was checking out now. I nodded. And went to the raptors bridge.

Once on the bridge of the Raptor I sat in the command seat looking at the all the empty stations. Around me Storm standing there as well. “You know I sometimes wish I had set up something incase of something went wrong that I would be revived to take stock of the situation. 200 Ponies Storm and we needed every one of them to effectively bring the full use of this ship to the wasteland Think of all this ship could accomplish supply deliveries Defence of a town protection from the enclave And we can’t even operate her to her capabilities with just the four of us. We need help Storm but we need to use caution when we bring ponies to the base. There is so much we do not know and things I am not liking one bit. We need this Raptor to fly but we need personnel we can trust to not just steal from this base. I am afraid we will fail if we are not careful. If we are too careful we can miss a prime opportunity to get the personnel we need.” I said.

“I know Cloudy I know and I feel the same way now that the raptor is operational we don’t have a crew for her anymore she’s just going to sit here gathering dust not see a day of action like she was meant to but what can we do about it not many ponies out there would help somepony unless payed mercs are well and good but do we really want to trust mercs with this base or the location of the base? That is something that I have been thinking about we might not like it but it is possible that we will have to at some point contract a merc company to assist us I do not like it plus I don’t know who we can or could trust with something so vital to Equestria as what this base contains.” Storm Chaser said with a sigh looking mentally tired.
“I hear yeah Stormy we have each other we have friends who are allies and members of our unit. We got them too we just need to be careful when dealing with Unknown ponies and this group of mercs that are after us we have to be careful with them Could go very badly for them if we get serious. With the protection of this base I will not Take any chances If we do bring Convoys or caravans here I want security at every entrance to the base proper No unauthorized ponies are to leave the Hangar. I want to get some proper security too eventually The sentinels and security ponietrons can be eliminated by spark grenades or a well placed shot. But a Pony can make a judgment call I knows when to force the issue you get warnings before security will respond.” I said.

Storm walked up and pulled me into a hug a tight one. I collapsed into the hug and hugged back. “What are we going to do Storm we have so much to do with little to no help.” I said.

“We will find a way to do it Cj we have to Rainbow Dash is counting on us CJ she doesn’t accept failure she wants us to be successful she got us that equipment plus that card you seem to have looks like a key card. Could be important maybe for the warehouse in Filly.” Storm said out of curiosity I looked at it in the inventory was keycard facility MoA warehouse Hub Fillydelphia.

“Your Right about that Storm Its for the Hub Warehouse In Fillydelphia if we can get at least a few more hooves we can use the Raptor to get us there and collect whatever we might find there would be a good test flight for her. Of course we would be using the stealth array. I would not want this ship being spotted easily plus unlike most raptors she’s a special model first one of her class to be able to land on the ground. You normally have to dock with a thunderhead or a hangar dock.” I said getting a smile from Storm.

Storm pulled back breaking the hug. “I hope we have the time to truly get everything up and running and crew this ship.” Storm said.

“We will somehow we probably could fly her now just wouldn’t have any of the major help in engineering or support personnel to assist should things go south but we should have ponies Might even be able to get some Enclave ponies to abandoned them and join up with us we do have armor for them after all and we can put them through hard training.” I said getting a laugh from Storm.

“I’m all up for that I would like to see how trained an enclave soldier is these days.” Storm said.

“We will have to use caution when and if we run into any pegasi the fact that there is a Bat Pony amongst the group hired to get our equipment is rare enough I do not know how but looks at least like some Thestrals have survived there definetly excotic among pegasi It would be nice to convince him wouldn’t mind seeing what he or she would look like in power armor.” I said getting a smirk from Storm.

“I think My Good Friend might have found her first crush since waking up in the wasteland hell Equestria has become.” Storm said.

“Hey what about you and Calamity huh I seen the way you checking out his flank when he wasn’t looking hmmm.” I Snapped back getting a snicker.

“Gilty as charged ma’am.” She replied.

“Plus it is not like that I for one at this moment wouldn’t be appropriate for me to find a mate or even a lover. Plus we have to take into effect that we are so much older than the ponies out there regardless if we do not look our age hell we look good for our age but still were in our mid 220’s Storm were older than hell even combining the ages of all the ministry mares were older than their ages combined. I may have physically turned 26 Storm but that is 226 your one year younger than I how can we even think of things like that right now but I will admit that I do feel the needs for companionship and intimacy with another pony just like anypony does at times but are we even in a place that we can truly relax and enjoy the spoils of a family the war we were fighting is long past but a different battle is being waged do we even have all the facts to even take a chance of finding that pony to give us foals?” I asked.

“You have mentioned Cloudy we can’t always be on duty we have to be able to relax or we will not be of any use plus I do not think you or I can avoid it forever we need somepony special in our life somepony who can be there to comfort or even pleasure us you said it yourself you haven’t been with a pony since Little horn. I haven’t been with a pony since shattered hoof. You have denied yourself the pleasure of another pony's company for far too Long CJ when are you going to truly enjoy the pleasures of life again?” Storm asked.

I sighed deeply closed my eyes and thought long a moment on what storm had just said. You know what She is right. I couldn’t help but smirk.

“I’ll take it under consideration who knows Storm I might just take you up on that offer.” I said giggling at the look of shock on her face.

“Anyway let’s go check on the intelligence and communications array I would like to at least like to see if the systems have picked up anything that we might not have been able to it is much stronger than our personal units. Plus I think we have a day or to before we confront the group hired to acquire our gear.” I said getting a nod from Storm with one last look around the bridge we left.
