Author's Notes:

I have... mixed feelings about this chapter, I can't say I'm proud of it nor can I say that I am.. Let's just say writer's block kept flip flopping up and down with me, preventing me from coming up with any good ideas, I am deeply sorry for this.

Not to worry, I plan to try making flashbacks based on fan requests, like for example, you wanted Echo to meet someone in the past or experience a certain event? Please suggest it here and I'll try come up with a small chapter based on your suggestion or request. For now, I'll be focusing on a mixture a Displaced Plot and subplots to go along with it, aka Echo's flashbacks,

For the past few months, me and Starswirl have been experimenting, Other than our goals, I’ve been visiting Quality and Aurora, Quality has finally managed to get enough money to build and open up her own fashion shop while Aurora’s wife got a newborn filly, every night, I’ve been getting well acquitted with the princess known as Luna, she’s been learning how to enter other people’s minds through dreams and visits me every night, the first meeting we had didn’t go so well when she found out I was one of the sources of chaos energy she’s found, she was scared at first, but when she saw how calmly my flow, the fear turned into curiosity, while we are somehow friends, she is still caution and wary of me, she even threatened that if I do anything wrong, she will tell on me to her big sister Celestia, I promised her that I would only use this power for my own sake and perhaps for the sake of others.

I have discovered and learned many ways of utilizing my chaos energy, such as firing a bolt of chaotic energy, expelling it in a burst or explosion creating a shield or a barrier, I tried creating a spell that restore my energy, but it has not been going well. So far, it seems the powers work better as being destructive or use for combat.

There is one ability that I've been struggling to perform, I get so close to using it, but it ends up backfiring on me, often shattering my body to pieces, I have to stop and gathering my being before I can continue to practice, this spell, which I’ve called it Chaos Control should allow me to control a small piece of time itself to allow it to freeze it or slow it down monumentally, but I need more chaos.. I need more power, and thus far the only source of chaotic energy is the flow of time when things begin to change, or Starswirl since he’s learn how to regenerate it, he has made some progress, however I’m beginning to worry for his well-being, his body has been changing much like my own, the more chaos energy I gain, the more ways I can alter my into many forms, shapes, sizes, however I have not been able to change the color of my body and my emerald eyes. Starswirl though… he hasn’t learn how to control it, it has been altering his DNA, his eyes eyes have changed from yellow to red, I swear there’s a second horn growing out of his forehead and small pair of mismatched wings.

We are on the fourth week of our experimentation and it’s getting a bit risky, the royal sisters have been sensing the surges of chaos energy and Starswirl has to go and calm them down, he had to use some Illusion spells to prevent others from seeing what he’s becoming.

Starswirl claims he will find a way to reverse the changes, however I don’t believe he can, he’s generating more than he can use, its also not helping that he’s been losing his maturity and his sanity, its like his mind has been going backwards, making him act more like a spoiled frilly

It has been a month and my friend has been unsuccessful and he’s becoming more and more reclusive, even going to the point where he shoves me out, he’s even forgotten my name and his star pupil, Clover the Clever, the poor colt’s heart was broken when Starswirl refused to teach him anymore.

One day… was the day everything changed, words cannot describe the horrors I’ve seen, Starswirl’s body was mixed and mismatched, he had lost control of himself and a piece of reality has been changed, he was cackling loudly, claiming that someone took his toys, I had to flee for my life and inform the princesses of what was going on.

When they came and saw the state that Starswirl was in, Luna accused me of doing this to him, I tried to prove that he did it to himself, I told him that something was wrong, but he ignored every single one of my warnings.

Luna, including her sister Celestia, called me a liar, I protested and begged that it was not the case, I may be the one to introduce him to chaos magic and energy, but I am definitely not the one to warp his body and his mind.

Starswirl reacted rather violently, his body fell apart revealing only his spirit that been rearranged and twisted by the same chaos magic, and…everything went to Tartarus in a hand basket, my friend unleashed a blast of pure chaotic energy that changed everything, the skies were filled with cotton candy raining down chocolate milk, everything was floating and in total disarray, there was so much chaotic magic and my body started shake and spasm as if I was being possessed. My body went through a massive change, transforming me into me a powerful draconic kraken, I could not control myself when I unleashed the very same power onto the world, Canterlot including a quarter of Equestria was destroyed by a huge tidal wave while the rest was transformed by Starswirl- No, this was no longer him, he was not Discord, the spirit of chaos..

The only thing I’ve for the rest of this event, was nothing but rage, chaos, destruction, betrayal.. I was feeling the same exact emotions as him….

..The feelings finally subsided and I found myself as a puddle of water with the royal twins looking over me with distrust and determination, their horns were blazing with energy and a ring of colors circling around them.

[Go ahead… I cannot… go against… Judgment…] I said in shallow weak breaths. [I… suppose I am the one at fault.. He discovered my magic.. and only.. wanted to learn more from me… We did it together, but he did the rest to himself…]

I was once again hit by their a beam of harmony without a second opinion, but instead of being turned to stone, I was turned to ice, the very think I feared and heavily despise, it slowed down my mind and weakened my magic, I’m going to be tortured by vile dreams and raging Windigos.

Gods above knows how long I’ve been in this block of ice because of the past, however it wasn’t my fault when Discord warped Equestria in his personal playground.

I do not wish to be reminded of what I did nor do I wish to know if anyone died during my rampage, I’ve been punished enough as it is, my emotions have been a total wreck, I could not put my mind to sleep or else be shown flash backs of what I did, that demon Discord has been watching me for his amusement if my mind ever did fall asleep.

“And here.. is a powerful being.. Tell us girls, what does it present?”

I heard a voice… M-my vision is returning, I saw a group of fillys and colts following a purple mare.

“A monster!”
“Emeralds?”
“Art?”
Three of the group were trying hard to guess what I was, I would of told them my name if I had the strength.
“No, girls, this block of ice is the God Of Destruction, a being of pure power, it appeared when Discord took over Equestria, this monster mutated into a huge entity of water, no one knows where it came from or if it has any connection to Discord, the elements of harmony managed to purify it’s form, however Celestia and Luna couldn’t turn it to stone, its original liquid form was immune to the elements, thus the royal sisters had to freeze it in a case of magical ice, as long as it cannot absorb any form of chaotic or destructive activity, Equestria is forever safe.”
It seems I've earned a title, a title that will always remind me of my ill past, but why call me a God? Was my form really that power to earn such a name? No, I don’t deserve it, I don’t even want it, and I plan to correct that mistake.

[If only you knew the Truth] My telepathic voice made everyone and the school teacher jump in surprise, even I was surprised that my mental voice had return, most of the fillys and colts backed away in fear, but not the three others who remained looking up at my frozen prison. “Woooooooow, how are you doing that?” the orange filly with the purple hair asked, however I didn’t get a chance to answer as they were picked up and forced to come with the teacher.

[Go on… Run from something that could of became your GUARDIAN!] My voice boomed throughout the garden, then followed by silence… or so it would have been Discord didn’t speak,

“You always were mallow dramatic.” Discord commented via telepathic.
[Silence, demon… If it weren’t for you, I could of a lived a life of peace!]
“Peace, how boring, things were a lot more lively when I sent you into a rampage, the chaos was just simply divine, In fact, this stone prison of mine have weaken thanks to those three fillies, once I break free, I could offer the same for you, we are kindred spirits afterall, both meant to send the world in chaos, destruction, and disharmony.” Discord said in that deep playful voice of his.

[How can you even live when the world was in disarray? Your goals make no sense to me]

“Making sense? But where’s the fun in that?” Discord asked with a chuckle.

[Why do I even ask…] I let out a mental sigh, my attention was redirected back to him when I heard something crack, oh gods above no….
A crack traveled from the bottom of Discord’s statue to the top, he let out an evil laugh, and soon, the stone pieces started to fall off of him, he was now free, he stretched out his limbs and popped a few bones, his body hadn’t been used for a long time.
“Now.. To do the same for you, Echo, now don’t worry, I’m not going to fill you with my magic, ok perhaps very a little just so you can some sort of solid form and then once I’ve had my fun dealing with the current elements of harmony, I’ll have you as my trump card” He said with an evil smirk, he placed an eagle claw on my prison and began filled me with chaos magic, I felt my body grow until the block of ice shattered. At first, my liquid body went to pieces, then slowly with my mind, I pulled back together, quickly shape shifting into my familiar unicorn form I’ve always preferred, except this time I’ve made a few changes.

The body was a lot better built and more solid looking and slightly bigger than usual to show a slightly older version of my form, my emerald snake-eyes were now better defined and detailed, I even gave myself a proper tail with two-toned color schemes of blue, my watery mane combed back into a ponytail, pun not included.

“Hmm.. I would of preferred your more draconic appearance..” He said while stroking his goat beard, I responded in a watery growl, quickly shape shifting my head to look like Discord, I repeated the same thing in a mocking tone of voice.

“I do NOT sound like that.” Discord said in an immature voice.
[Why not? You act like a child, so why not become one?] I said mockingly, even going to the point of shoving my hoof into his stomach. [Mother Celestia can just put you in timeout for another thousand of years.] Discord scowled rather loudly at that, I couldn’t help but chuckle at his expression, it matched a child that just had his toys taken away.

“Don’t push your luck, Echo, I may not be able to control you, but I can certain make you go mad with power” Discord said as a comeback comment to mine.

[Never speak of that again.. I deeply regret for what I’ve done and I never wish to hear it again!] I took a look around, and then looked at the sky, then with great ease, I shifted into a water puddle and quickly traveled through the garden, finding a crack in the stone pavement, I easily went through it like water going down a sink.

I managed to return to the Everfree forest, back to the beginning of where it all started, to the very place I woke up in, the spot that held my being when I had no body. Time has not be kind to this place, the hole had dried up long time ago and now in its place was nature’s proudest creations, ranging in array of green moss.

I saw something… glittering in the corner, I made my way over to it and picked it up, it was a red emerald glowing fierce with chaotic energy...
