I continued to stare at the red gem, I couldn’t quite remember why this thing felt… familiar, it held some sort of importance and a memory that refused to surface to the top of my mind, I could feel my anger swelling up when my memories continued to avoid me. I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of thunder, followed by… Chocolate rain? Ah yes, one of discord’s ways of mischief.

I let out a long drawn out sigh as I was reminded of the past, I don’t even want to try returning to the Cantorlot or else I would suffer the wrath of the royal princesses and I certainly can’t do anything to stop Discord, otherwise my body will end up absorbing his chaotic powers and turn me into the powerful god like before.

Perhaps I’m overthinking this.. those two can just turn Discord to stone, right? Then they’ll go after me and return me back to my ice prison, I refuse to relive that nightmare, I could leave this place, find somewhere else to go-… No, they’ll only track me down, they can sense my power, especially Princess Luna since she can seek out my dream.

I was trapped between a rock and a hard place and I only have two choices, diplomatic or surrender… I won’t resort to violence though as it’ll only further prove my title..

Looking down at the red glittering stone of power, I knew that it held chaotic powers much like my own, and for some reason there were… two types of energy, one was positive, pure, tame, peaceful, the other was negative, powerful, and it was not at ease. At this point, I’ve decided to try and keep it from falling into the wrong hands, no unicorn should even touch it, let alone gaze upon its surface, if chaotic magic can transform one pony into a powerful creature of mismatched parts, it can certainly do the same for anypony else who absorbs to match.

One gem filled with this stuff exists, where would its creator be? Is there more? Such thoughts plagued my mind and worried me, no doubt I would be blamed for this, I let out a mental sigh at the current events at hand…

[I need help and many of my former allies are gone..] I raised a hoof and rubbed around my horn as if an imaginary headache was beginning to form. I had very little choice at the matter, all I could do wait here until they found me, I hope that whatever Gods exist, may they have mercy on my well being.

I sat down, closed my eyes, and started meditating with the chaos emerald held between my hoofs, slowly putting my mind at peace, allowing the birds of the forest to send me deeper into serenity, I started seeing… colors, I could see the flow of chaos in the distance created by Discord.

As time went by, the strength of Discord’s magic increased, why haven’t they taken care of him now? The twins did it so easily even in the face of my former destruction in the past…

“Come on, Echo, join the fun~” Discord’s voice rung throughout my mind.
[And become a demon like you?]
“A demon? Calling the kettle black there.. If I recall, you taught Starswirl the power we wield” He said with a chuckle.
I took a slow calm breath, trying to go deeper into meditat-! I was forced out of my state of peace when Discord appeared within my mind’s eye, startling me and causing me to fall onto my back.. Discord had a fit of laughter. “You should see the look on your face!”
[Leave me be, demon, You… play with your toys or whatever!] I said in a rather angry voice, I wanted to blast his face into oblivion so badly.
Discord reached over and prodded the top of my forehead. “Come on, play with me~” he was giving me quite the headache from his constant pestering. “Play..” He eased closer. “with..” He got too close for comfort. “Me...”

I couldn’t take it his annoyance any longer, so I tried the very last chaos spell I could remember that didn’t directly effect a target but rather what’s around.

[Chaos Control]

“Chaos wha-”
Time suddenly stood still, Discord was in a frame-freeze and in cut-off in mid-sentence… How did I do this so easily when I couldn’t b- wait.. the emerald!

Taking this moment, I galloped out of the forest, anyone can call me a coward but considering that his Magic can send me berserk by pumping me with chaos magic, I don’t think it would be wise to attack him back with the very same attack or else face a more powerful Discord, Chaos Control may have worked for now, I bet he’ll eventually learn how it works and will do the same in return.

When I emerged from out of the foliage, my eyes were greeted by chaos.. total disaray and none of it made sense, I recognize two of the things such as the cotton candy that rained chocolate milk, but the rest was new, gravity was in reverse, pie floated or rained from the sky, pigs flew, a pony with a screwball cutie mark floated past me, the road was made out of soap and the day/night cycle was fast forward… Discord outdone himself this time, this tells me that he’s crown much stronger to the point where reality could be bent to his will.

“Do you like what I did to the place?” Discord’s voice was behind me. “By the way, nice trick there vanishing, I felt a small part of reality bend to your command, I can teleport too though but not in the same way you just did.”

I stared at him with a confused look, he thought I teleported? So.. he didn’t directly see the flow of time stop all of a sudden… Excellent, at least I have a way to get out of here.

“...Now Discord AND The God Of Destruction are here?” A voice spoke out in front of me as a purple mare, along with five others walked up, five of them wearing a necklace and the main group wearing a Tiara. “Can this day possibly get any worst… whatever. Formation, now, All right, let's get this over with.“ five of them rose up into the air, glowing with a fierce power that I knew were the elements of harmony, but it felt.. weaken.

The spell of harmony failed, sending the five ponies back to earth, I took this moment to bolt the living hell out of there, Discord erupted in a fit of laughter, once I returned to my place in the everfree forest, I quickly resume my meditation, I only wish for this madness to end/

...The world eventually returned to normal hours later, but I knew the peace would not last long when the bearers of harmony came along to my home, I let out a long sigh and turned around to face them, I looked between each of their faces… Fear, Confusion, Curiosity, Determination, Goofy… Admiration? The white pony with the purple hair had a look of admiration on her face for some reason.
[And here you are, the current wielders of harmony..] I said, they seemed taken back by my mental voice. [Here to reseal me?] I asked.
“Yes, and there is No escaping it, God Of Destruction!” the purple pony with the two tuned hair said.
[Very well, give it your best shot, I cannot stop you]
“That’s right, we-.. what?” the purple mare looked perplexed..
[You heard me, go on ahead, you have the right to do so..] I said, then closed my eyes and waited for the end… but it never came.. I opened them back up to see the six ponies even more confused.
“That's it? No epic battle? So much for a being calling himself the God Of Destruction.” A cyan pony said, crossing her arms in disappointment.
“Why are you so willing to allow us, God Of Destruction?” the purple mare asked.
[Please, call me Echo.. I don’t want to be reminded of my past..] I said, a moment of silence followed by murmuring, the purple pony walked forward toward me, looking into my emerald colored eyes as if seeking answers.

“Twilight, what are you doing? We can’t trust this thing.” An orange pony with a western ascent said.
The pink one was constantly hoping in place, the cyan one with the rainbow hair looked ready for a fight, the yellow pegasus with the pink hair kept avoiding my gaze while the white mare continued to stare at me… Ah, I see where she’s looking, she’s looking at my red emerald I’m holding between my hoofs..
“Echo… I’ve read all sorts of stories from Starswirl’s books, he said you were quite a discover and that he was going to use chaos magic to help the world, my mentor princess Celestia told me you’re the one that made him go insane, she refused to tell me what exactly happen to him..” the purple mare said.

[Starswirl, a name I haven't heard in a long time, I had considered him as a friend, however now ever since what happened to him all those years ago…] I left the sentence hanging..
“Could you tell me what happened?” She asked, pushing me to continue.
[...Are you ready? You might not believe me though..]
She gestured with her hoof, as if trying to encourage me, I stared into her eyes, now it was my turn to try to seek the answers. [...You remind me of a friend named Aurora Sparkles..]
“M-my ancestor?” She asked, a little taken back that I knew the name.
[Yes, you have his spark of curiosity, his hunger for knowledge, the will to learn]
“...How old are you?”
“That, I do not know, I’ve been in this world since the start of the tribes till the attack of the Windigos, bits of history escaped me though when I frozen here in this hole, when I was only a pool of water...” I told Twilight the rest of my history from start to finished, she had a look of understanding, two of the mares looked like they’d cry, while two of the others didn’t trust my story, the last one held sympathy?

Four of those mares look like they were readdy to trust me, but why so easily despite I was once Celestia’s enemy?

“It sounds like this was one big misunderstanding, maybe Celestia has changed and would be willing to give you a second chance?” Twilight said with a smile, I couldn’t believe my ears of how easily trusting those six were, perhaps this is why they were chosen to wield the elements..

The other remaining five came up to me and one by one, introduced themselves, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack.

[...Rarity.. Would you by chance by related to Quality?]

“Why yes, she’s the reason why I got into fashion in the first place.” She said with a flick of her purple hair.
“Are there any others you know?” Twilight asked
[Sadly no, I only know three people. When you’re an entity of water, it’s difficult to make friends without fear of them judging.] Suddenly, pinkie pie leaped into my field of vision.

“Then let’s change that frown upside side by throwing you a party once we fix ponyville, I’ll make sure the people of ponyville accept you, everyone likes a party!” Pinkie pie exclaimed, throwing confetti that came out of thin air, where did she have those?

I still couldn’t get over the shock of just how.. friendly they’ve being to me, I’m called the god of destruction and they’re being all buddy-buddy with them? Quite frankly, while I’ll have less to worry about, I don’t quite… like this sort of approach from those six, the friends I had in the past weren’t this straight forward. What has Celestia done?

Author's Notes:

Don't get me wrong, those six greatly value friendship, they try to befriend everyone and they even give villains a second chance if they show that they're willing to change. Now, even though the mane six is trying to befriend him, it won't be so easily done, he finds discomfort in this whole "instant friends" approach. Hopefully I've got the mane six's personality down correct, but please feel free to point out the mistakes, well I do feel happy that I've reached 2k for this chapter, I feel that I could of done better with the approach near the end, it's just I couldn't think of anything without making the mane six act out of character.
