Chapter 11: My new home.

Author's Notes:

I was struggling so hard with this chapter due to Writor's block and as of now, I can only focus on some sort of Slice Of Life scenario. By the way, any future cross-over stories i do with other Displaced, will NOT be posted along side this story, however i am thinking of giving it it's own section. Overall, this story from now on will remain focusing on the Main (Slice of life or trying to find the Chaos Emeralds), all cross-over chapters will be seperated/not included.

I am opened to ideas/suggestions though on where I could take this story

Upon arriving at the home near the lake, I notice it had one of those old water wheels, which have seen better days, but I’m sure with some work and repair, I could get the thing going again. Other then the that, the home looked simple, faded paint blue with a white roof, I went inside and regretting do so, dust flew in around in random directions when I pushed the door open, I can managed to spook a few Raccoons that were living side, running straight past me when I went inside.

How long has it been since this place was last used? There were cobwebs everywhere, no wonder it was free, it’s better than nothing anyhow, so I got to work, getting rid of the cobwebs and doing what I could, I even went to the point of using the two chaos emerald to grow my size and clean most of the dust, and then afterwards diving into the lake and filtering the dust out.

The second reason I chose this home was mostly because it was located slightly east of ponyville, away from prying eyes of the ponies, allowing me to use my chaos powers, magic, and shape shifting without them freaking out, except unless I use anything that looked like unicorn magic. Speaking of which, I outta try to learn how to levitate or use telekinesis move things around like a psychic.

In the end, the place was clean and most of the things that were rotted or beyond use, were moved out. Hmm, I wonder what the currency is for this? I know I cannot solve everything with chaos magic or powers, so I'll need to repair this home the old fashion way.

So far of this old home, there was a living room, an outta date kitchen possible dating back to the medieval era, a bedroom that’ll most likely serve as the guest room as I never sleep, and last what appeared to be a workstation for blacksmith, it had a smelter, a workbench, a forge, and a grindstone. Hmm, perhaps I could make money with this room when I learn how it’s done, hopefully there is someone who still blacksmiths to this day.

I returned to the entrance of my room and was going to leave, but the moment I opened that door, I was met with a bewilder and crazy eyed Twilight Sparkle, her hair was a total mess and… are those bags under her eyes? She was grinned almost ear to ear, she had a bird’s nest on her head and her right eye was twitching like crazy, I can practically sense the chaos energy coming out of her.

[...How did you know I lived here?] I asked, a little creeped out how she found me.
“Oh yes! Echo, surely you have a friendship problem, right? Yes? Of course you do!” Twilight sparkle said, easing closer with each word spoken, I gave her a deadpan expression.
[Twilight…] I began, softly pushing her face away with my hoof. “I barely know you Twilight nor have I made any friends..” I said, seeing her eye twitch when I mentioned the word friends
“Let’s solve that then, shall we? There are a lot of people to be friends with, ponyville is the biggest place to have friends! Everyone is a friend, even i’m your friend!” Twilight’s horn ignited in a radiant lavender, I felt my back being pulled and pushed.

“Ok, first of all, friendship isn’t something you can snap your fingers and make happen, Twilight. Second, have you even seen yourself in the mirror?” I asked her, she’s breathing deep as if she’s about to bite my head off, her eyes are shaking and twitching and she’s starting to scare me.

“You don’t get it, Echo! If I don’t make a friendship report to Celestia, I'll be tardy, TAAAARDDDYY!!” She suddenly fell over, making me me blink in confusion.

“...Is this why you’re acting all crazy, Twilight? You’re… how old? I mean, isn’t school for fillies?” I said, I mean i’m just taking a guess at this. Twilight’s cheeks turned red as she stared at me with quite a nasty glare, she let out a groan and suddenly vanished in a burst of lavender energy.

To be honest, I’m a little scared of Twilight, I may be a former god of destruction, but I still have the mind of a normal pony… or being.

I spent the rest of the day trying to get a job and failing, however due to the kindness of those ponies, they allowed me to get what I needed, while I was grateful of the kind gesture, it felt so off to easily obtain what I needed. I was able to get wood for myself to fix the waterwheel and replace some parts, going even the distance of cleaning it up and getting it running, next was to repair the floor in my home.

Once the deed was done and having a few mishaps, my floor was now a bit more livable, I headed into my empty room and pulled out the Tokens I collected over the years.

First, the Starpiece from The Shadow Queen, and then the red scarf from Travis, I decided to keep the red eye from Azura as I feel it holds a some sort power, it shall remain hidden behind my own emerald-colored eye. Those Displaced are like me.. although I should minimize my summons as to avoid putting Equestria into jeopardy, from now on, any token I found, I will only speak with them, or go to there world instead.

Twilight came back later on to apology for her action, hoping that she’d still be my friend, I had to mentally and quietly sigh in annoyance at that, why are ponies so friendly? Why is friendship their top priority? It would have been better if they acted more like the ponies in the past where they weren’t so straight forward. Friendship is something that takes time, not something like Magic that you can snap your fingers at.

….For some reason I cringed at the moment at my own thought progresses., at the eerie familiarity…. Friendship Is Magic? I shook my head to rid of those thoughts. “It’s fine, Twilight, its… fine.” I said, waving a watery hoof around. Twilight smiled and I shrugged my arms.

“Oh! By the way, Nightmare Nights coming up next week, will you be taking part?” Twilight asked. Giving her a confused look, she proceeded that nightmare night when you go trick’or’treating while dressed up, her explanation sounded familiar but annoyingly, I could remember where I heard it from.

“It sounds fun, but I doubt I'll be going, i’m not even sure I can even consume candy..” I said, looking down at my semi-solid liquid body. I looked back up and saw Twilight’s eyes gleam with curiosity, a gleam that looked just like her ancestors, I frowned at her.

“No, you won’t be taking samples from me, i’m just water, chaos magic, chaos energy, and whatever my brain is made of.” I said, pointing to where it was located. “No bones, no organs in my body, no nothing.” I explained to her… Although considering how I can turn into pure liquid, maybe… Just maybe, my brain is just something that is part of shape shifting? Perhaps I could give myself a working structure of what I’m missing, maybe even go the distance of a digestive system that uses chaos energy to burn and convert..

“Echo?”

“Oh.. Sorry, I was lost in my mind thoughts.. Just theories and possibilities..” I told Twilight.

“Hey, it’s ok, I’ve done that plenty of times and my friends had to snap me out of it.” She said with a smile. Hrrm, I wish she wouldn’t do that ‘imma so friendly’ attitude. “So.. are we still friends?”

I blinked a few times and sighed. “I suppose so, but please.. take it slow, alright?” I said, she responded with a relieved sigh, thanking me for accepting her friendship, she looked up to check the time and realized how late it was getting.

With a wave of her hoof and apologizing for cutting the conversation short, she ran off, going home or her friends if I had to take a guess.
