“I have the weirdest boner right now”
“Seriously Liam?”
It’s very late in the night. The sounds of drunken goodbyes can be heard behind us as we staggered towards our cars. After a cracking party at our friends we were ready for a good night’s sleep.
“Lol I’ll see you laters guys” Slurred Anthony. “I have stuffs to do in the morning”
Normally if my friend was drunk I would tell them they were not safe to drive but knowing Anthony he would totally ignore me and do it anyway. So I let him go and hoped for the best. Me, Liam and Edward continued on to my car so we could head home. I was also very drunk as was Liam. Edward being the only one who wasn’t due to him not liking alcohol. I was too drunk to drive but I was going to anyway. I thought I could manage it because I thought very highly of my driving skills. Me and my friends were slowly struggling to reach my car (besides Edward of course) as we approached the car Liam hopefully yelled “Almost there guys! Must... Keep... Going!” before falling flat on his face.
“Well done Liam. Very Impressive” said Edward followed by a sigh of disappointment.
“I know right!” Replied Liam cheerfully.
We finally reached the car and all I could hear was Liam singing: “its Friday... It’s... Friday. Gotta get down on da Fridays... er... I forgot the rest of the words” I could hear the slap of a face palm coming from Edward.
“Hay guys, have you seen my keys?” I asked.
“There in your ear idiot Lol!” replied Liam.
“Oh, right” I said shamefully.
“Lol. Ear-diot, get it? cos your keys are in you ear and... oh fuck you.” - We both ignored Liam's rubbish joke.

I proceeded to unlock the car and Liam was the first to clamber into it in the most disorderly fashion possible. Edward silently followed him in frowning at his drunken behaviour. After Liam threw up in the back and passed out, I had a moment of silence. During that Silent period I heard some sobbing coming from across the road. Across the road was a small park with few trees and a very old public children’s climbing set and swings. The fallen autumn leaves from the trees littered the park and the children’s park was rusted and broken in many places. Clearly no one has used in it a while.

I approached the park, the sobbing was much clearer now. My vision was blurry and it was pretty dark out. I could see what appeared to be a small blue coloured blob lying in a small pile of leaves like a blanket. It had a rainbow coloured tail and... Could it be? I mean it can’t be. It’s a kids T.V show. My Favourite one but still it couldn’t be possible. She looked awful: Her mane was all rugged and messy, dirt covered her coat and her tail was covered with filth and even had a few twigs tangled within it. I walked up to her and said hello. The blue coloured Pony Jumped around and took an attack stance. I could see the tears in her eyes even though she tried so hard to hide them.
“Rainbow Dash?” I asked hastily.
“How do you know my name? What do you want?” said the blue coloured Pony in a very aggressive manner.
“You’re... You’re real? I thought you we’re just a character on a kids T.V show?”
“It’s none of your business where I come from. Get back if you know what’s good for you”. She was really defensive.
“Calm down. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just curious about how you got here?”
Rainbow dash lowered her guard and sat back down in the pile of leaves, starting to sob again.
“It was about a week ago. I was trying to impress the wonder bolts with my new move the ‘Rainbow Bolt’. It’s similar the Sonic Rain-boom but just before the Rainbow effect I would collide with a cloud to create rainbow lightning. But...”
Her voice dropped into a deep state of hesitation and despair.
“...when I collided with the cloud. It shot out a huge bolt of lightning directly at the Princess who was in the audience.”
More tears started to roll down her face followed by a few quiet sniffs.
“..She was severely injured. She forgave me when she recovered, accepting it was a mistake but I could feel the disappointment and disgust in her voice. The rest of the ponies also frowned upon me for my recklessness. I couldn’t handle the guilt for what I did, so I flew off. Eventually I forced myself to just leave Equestria and came here. This was the only other planet I could find that I could survive on”
I wanted to ask her how she managed to get from her planet to mine but I didn’t want to seem insensitive. It was starting to rain so I just helped her up and offered her to stay at mine for a while. She needed a good wash and a warm meal. She has clearly been out here for at least a week and was probably starving. Me and Rainbow walked back to the car. I found that both Liam and Edward had fallen asleep in the back of my car. It was quite a crazy party so I wasn’t surprised by it. I wasn’t sure how Rainbow would be able to sit in the seat of the car but she managed.
I first drove home to drop off Rainbow dash. I told her to have a wash while I dropped off Edward and Liam at Edward’s place. Both were still asleep in the back. I figured I’d rather they be sober before meeting Rainbow dash. By the time I dropped off the guys at home I was sobering up. It was lucky I hadn’t crashed the car. Especially after that close call with the lorry on the way here.

When I returned home to my apartment, I found Rainbow dash sleeping on my sofa after helping herself to some of my apples. She looked cleaner and healthier now which was good. I didn’t really want to be scrubbing mud off my sofa. I started to shake Rainbow dash trying to wake her up. I know she had a few apples and just wanted to sleep but really? only a few apples? She needed more than that. I tried to wake her but she refused.
“Leave me alone, I want to sleep” she groaned
“C’mon Rainbow, you need to eat a little more” I insisted. “A few apples isn’t enough. Here, I made some mince pies”
I actually just heated the mince pies in the microwave; Close enough.
“I don’t deserve any mince pies” She sobbed. She then suddenly look confused and asked “...what’s a mince pie?”
“Try it and find out” I said.
“Why not just tell me what it is” she implied.
“well, because to be honest I don’t even know what it is. I just eat them cos they taste nice”
“Can’t argue with that” She said. “You’re not gonna leave me alone till I eat something, are you?”
“Nope” I replied
She took a mince pie in her mouth and ate it. Chomp chomp chomp! I also took one cos I was also quite hungry.
“Mmmm.... These are good!” She said in surprise.
“Yeah I know right! Help yourself to more if you like” I offered.
She took another mince pie a nommed on it. Nom nom nom! And then another, and another!
She finished her pies. She ate all six of them! She began to speak again:
“Thanks for the pies. And thanks for letting me crash at yours for a bit. Whats your name anyway? I don’t think I asked.”
“Courage. Courage Tyler. You should get some rest. You looked tired and quite frankly I am too. You can sleep on my Sofa. It’s very comfortable as you have probably already guessed. If you need anything I’ll be in the other room”
“Okay thanks” She replied
I left the pony alone to get some rest. As I laid in bed I couldn’t help but think how this was possible but I was happy for it. I wasn’t sure if I was dreaming or hallucinating. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow. I kept asking myself about what I was going to do with her. I would just let her stay at mine till we figured something out. I eventually dozed off to sleep after an exhausting day partying. I wanted to be ready for tomorrow, I had this feeling that tomorrow would be just as crazy!
