Sunset and Sci-Twi sat by the base of the CHS statue. Both of them were scrawling notes in their own separate notebooks, mostly to do with a combination of Yo-kai knowledge, magical research, and school work. The hours seemed to melt as they documented everything that they could.

With Yo-kai Watches secured tightly on their wrists, Sunset and Sci-Twi eventually finished with their notebooks and pulled out their Yo-kai Medalliums, flipping through the pages to see many empty spaces still to fill. The absence of Yo-kai friends in their compendiums made them question just how many other species were out there, lurking in the shadows of the world. Sunset scratched her chin while Sci-Twi simply let out a long and dreary sigh about how the emptiness of the rest of the book completely overshadowed the friendly Yo-kai.

"Hey, Sunset?" Sci-Twi broke the silence.

"Yeah, Sci-Twi?" Sunset responded, looking over at her.

"How many Yo-kai do you think are out there?" Sci-Twi looked up to the azure skies above, with fluffy white clouds obscuring the sunlight. "And just how hard are they to find?"

"Hard to say." Sunset shrugged and plucked out her Dracunyan medal, examining every little detail of both sides. "I mean, Twilight just discovered them back in Equestria. Maybe she's asking herself the same question."

"Yeah, but don't forget that Twilight also has Whisper and Jibanyan with her." Sci-Twi stretched her legs, kicking them against the hard stone path. "And Whisper has some kind of little tablet that has everything Yo-kai related in it. She's probably learned about every little Yo-kai and secret they have, and we're just starting to learn." She looked down to the ground and started sliding her fingertips against it. "When you know that your counterpart is excelling more than you are, it kinda makes you feel sad, doesn't it?"

"Hey, Sci-Twi. You know that you're a fast learner like she is." Sunset got off of her haunches and stepped over to her. "Don't see this as a bad thing. Just be proud that somewhere in another world, a pony who looks like you has accomplished so much. I'm sure that you'll be able to catch up with her eventually."

"Yeah. If you consider eventually to be when she defeats King Void all by herself with all of that Yo-kai knowledge she's gotten from Whisper." Sci-Twi folded her arms and turned towards the houses across the road. "I thought I was the smartest person around before the Friendship Games. But now, after seeing all of this Yo-kai stuff, I feel like I'm losing my touch. Am I losing my touch, Sunset?"

"No. You're never gonna lose your touch, Sci-Twi." Sunset got down onto her hands and knees and gave Sci-Twi a gentle pat on the shoulders. "Look. We're all a bit shaken up by the Yo-kai. Just learn to roll with the punches and go with the flow. I'm pretty sure that Twilight did, and look where she is. She's a princess, she's got a lot more Yo-kai, and she's gonna save our worlds."

"And still, here we are, just watching the days pass by as we wait for Yo-kai to pop up and cause mischief." Sci-Twi stood up and leaned against the side of the portal. "Or we could just go out and find them ourselves, though I imagine that it'd be a little bit hard. I mean, they do jump between two different dimensions at the drop of the hat. We could find one, but then it'd just run all the way back to the Yo-kai World and tell its' friends to come and help it out."

"Sci-Twi. C'mon. You know that's never gonna happen." Sunset couldn't help but chuckle, putting her hand to her stomach. "Yo-kai aren't cowardly like that. Once they get into a battle, they stay there until they win or lose. I mean, when have we ever see a Yo-kai turn tail and run away once we give them a fight?"

"You don't know, Sunset. There might be a pretty wimpy Yo-kai that doesn't wanna fight..." Sci-Twi adjusted the Yo-kai Watch on her arm. "It might be called Yellowbell or Chickliver or something like that."

"Maybe." Sunset smirked.

Both of the girls ended up sharing a small laugh with each other, not noticing that there was a Crystal Prep student running up towards them with sweat dripping down from her face.

"Allo? Somebody help!" The girl called in a thick french accent.

"Huh?" Twilight snapped out of her fit and turned to face the CPA student. "Fleur De Lys? What are you doing here?"

"You know this girl, Sci-Twi?" Sunset tilted her head and looked at Fleur, looking at her white skin, pink hair, and fleur de lys hairclip.

"Yeah. I do." Sci-Twi nodded and walked up to the girl. "Her name's Fleur De Lys. She's a student who was born and raised in France, but who moved here with her family for a better life. And... let's just say that we were... acquaintances at best."

"Now is not the time for reminiscing, Twilight!" Fleur shook her head. "I know that you and Sunset Shimmer dealt with magical stuff at the Friendship Games, so I figured that you'd be the ones to come to in a case as bad as this..."

"Huh? Magic?" Sunset's ears pricked up and she took a few steps forward and tipped her hand. "What do you mean, Fleur? Is magic running loose at Crystal Prep now?"

"It happened at around lunch." Fleur took a deep breath, putting her hands to her tummy as she inhaled, pulling them away as she exhaled. "Out of nowhere, the students of Crystal Prep felt a little dizzy. The next thing we knew, they all got these weird purple smoke masks with glaring red eyes on them."

"Smoke masks?" Sci-Twi tilted her head. "You're not really making a whole lot of sense, Fleur."

"That's because there's more." Fleur held her finger up. "When they got the masks, they all went out of control. Smashing plates on the floor, having fights for no rhyme or reason, and laughing at all of the mischief and chaos they were pulling! It's never happened at CPA before!"

"Oookay... Now that sounds like trouble." Sci-Twi nodded and put her Yo-kai Medallium into her backpack, sliding her arms through the straps. "I think we know what it's about, but we're gonna need to make sure we're ready for this. Sunset. Can you give Twilight a call with your little book?"

"Yes." Sunset had already picked out the book and readied her pen, scribbling down a message. "If it's the Dark Yo-kai starting to possess humans, then we need to have Twilight ready to stop them. King Void might be trying to make a move." And in record time, Sunset dotted the end of the message and slammed the book shut. It wasn't long before she got a return message magically scribbled on the next page. "Wow. That was fast."

Dear Sunset.

I got your message. Whisper and Jibanyan are coming with me through the portal as you read this. At first, I thought that it was the Dark Yo-kai, but when I checked with Whisper about the smoke masks, he was quick to point out something entirely different. Get your best Yo-kai and let's go together to fight this evil.

—Twilight

The second Sunset stopped reading, Twilight shot out of the other end of the portal, back onto two legs again. She wore a backpack that was identical to Sci-Twi's, with the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero around her arm. Whisper and Jibanyan catapulted out shortly after, with their faces planted into the dirt with spirals in their eyes.

"That transition still hurts." Whisper floated up and pushed his back in, hearing a slight crunching noise. "I think I broke something there."

"Whisper, you're a Yo-kai. We don't have bones." Jibanyan jumped onto his paws and scampered up onto Twilight's shoulders. "I mean, I get hit by a truck on a daily basis, but you don't see me with casts and bandages, do ya?"

"You never know, Jibanyan. You might have a really, really, REALLY good metabolism." Whisper flew over and pulled Jibanyan's paws. "Which is pretty weird, considering how scrawny you are..."

"Hey! Hands off the merchandise, Whisper!" Jibanyan swatted him straight into Fleur with a giant folding fan, knocking them both to their butts.

"I keep forgetting that you have that giant fan, Jibanyan..." Whisper rubbed his head as he picked himself off of Fleur's face and brushed himself clean of dirt and dust. "I really must remember to confiscate that from you the next time you fall asleep. That way, we can avoid anymore unnecessary Whisper abuse."

"What in the heck was that?" Fleur picked herself off from the ground as well and rubbed her butt cheeks, which were red and sore from the impact. "I didn't see anything thrown at me, yet I still felt like I'd been hit in the face by a rock..."

"It's a long story." Twilight walked up to Fleur De Lys and the others. "And I mean, like, a REALLY long story. So long that it'd take us until nightfall for me to finish. And I know that this isn't something that can wait until night."

"Exactly. We need to hurry." Fleur De Lys nodded and took both Twilights by the hand. "I'm not going to question why there's two of you now, Twilight, but I suppose that two heads are better than one..."

Sunset, Whisper, and Jibanyan ran after Fleur De Lys and the two Twilights. As the wind raced past their faces with every second, they knew that they would have a tough battle on their hands.

At Crystal Prep Academy's lunch hall, chaos was ensuing. Food stains were splattered on the walls, noise was erupting from every human with a smoke mask, and there were shattered plates, glasses, and phones on the ground. The ones that weren't possessed were either huddled away in the corners, not wanting any part of the madness ensuing from the others, or were sneaking out through the doors, running off as fast as they could to tell the principal.

Little purple creatures clung onto or floated above the shoulders of the possessed students; all with malicious grins on their faces as they held on tight, pointing at whatever they wanted their captives to destroy next. Some were snake-like, others were humanoid, and there were even some that looked like flames. There were many more monsters of varying shapes and sizes, including a few that looked like they wore coats or brass knuckles.

Twilight, Fleur De Lys, Sci-Twi, Sunset, Whisper, and Jibanyan all dashed into the lunch room and watched everything going down. Sci-Twi narrowly avoided a plate being thrown at her and yelped, jumping forward as the shards tinkled down behind her.

"How is it possible?" Whisper put his hand against his forehead, surveying the environment. "I thought we'd seen the last of them..."

"The last of what? What Yo-kai is it?" Sci-Twi flipped up her Yo-kai Watch and tried to find out what was causing all of the trouble, but despite pointing her Yo-kai Watch directly at one of the masked students, she could find nothing. "Where is it, Whisper? I can't see anything!"

"Me too!" Sunset looked through her Yo-kai Watch to find the Yo-kai behind the unruly behavior in the lunchroom, but nothing came up on her lens either. "Is the Yo-kai Watch broken or something?"

"It's not broken for me." Twilight had her lens up, and she could see all of the Yo-kai causing the fights and property damage. "I can see them just fine."

"Let me explain this to you, Sci-Twi and Sunset." Whisper hovered over them as they all peeked through Twilight's Yo-kai Watch at the purple creatures. "These are what's known as Wicked Yo-kai. They're nasty little creatures mainly used by Dame Dedtime, Kin, and Gin to inspirit humans and wreak unimaginable havoc."

"But isn't Dame Dedtime, y'know, dead?" Twilight tilted her head towards Whisper. "How are the Wicked Yo-kai back?"

"Well... Kin and Gin are still around, aren't they?" said Whisper. "You saw the way they attacked Ponyville like that with the Dark Yo-kai. I'm pretty sure that they could've whipped this batch of Wicked up."

"But if they now control the Dark Yo-kai, then why would they nyeed to go back to using Wicked Yo-kai, Whisper?" Jibanyan asked. "The Dark Yo-kai are way stronger than the Wicked? Why use a weaker army if you're working for the king of the Dark Yo-kai?"

"You never know, Jibanyan! Kin and Gin might've gotten a bit bored and decided to bring the Wicked back for some of their sadistic fun!" Whisper wiggled his arms. "Those Time Witches are very unpredictable, you know!"

"Hold on..." Sci-Twi held up a hand, stopping both Whisper and Jibanyan immediately. "How come Twilight can see them and we can't? Does her Yo-kai Watch have a certain functionality with these new Wicked Yo-kai?"

"It's because, back in the past, when the Model Zero had been invented, that was when the Wicked Yo-kai were running around, causing chaos and disarray." Twilight began explaining. "But Whisper told me that when Nate and Nathaniel stopped Dame Dedtime, the Wicked Yo-kai were never seen again; like they'd been wiped off of the face of the earth. So, when the new Yo-kai Watches were made, they took away the ability to see Wicked Yo-kai."

"But there's Wicked Yo-kai right now." Sunset Shimmer looked out at the students making a mess again. "The Wicked Yo-kai are still here, even without Dame Dedtime leading them. Something's not right here..."

"Don't tell me King Void managed to bring Dame Dedtime back from the grave!" Whisper slapped both Twilight and Sunset's mouths shut. "The LAST thing this world needs is for that mad Yo-kai to come back! I'd rather fade away for good than have to listen to one of her shock stinger impressions again!"

"That's what you're worried about, Whisper?" Jibanyan raised one of his browns. "I don't want her to take my Paws of Fury and use it against me like that again..."

"Well, whatever you're worried about, we really need to stop this." Twilight took her Yo-kai Medallium out and readied her Yo-kai Watch. "If the Wicked are that dangerous, I might need to switch it to EX mode just to be safe." And with the push of a button, her watch transformed quickly, ready to summon six Yo-kai at once.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you..." A seductive feminine voice rose up from the cafeteria.

Indigo Zap, Sour Sweet, Sunny Flare, Sugarcoat, and Lemon Zest stepped up to Twilight and the others. They all had purple masks as well, but the Wicked Yo-kai controlling them looked much more sophisticated. They all wore black coats with little red flames and had little red dots for eyes. The Yo-kai slunk off of the Shadowbolts and stepped towards Twilight.

"Don't try and take this from us." A Wicked Yo-kai with a scarf around his mouth and two giant horns crossed his arms. "We have nothing left to do without Kin, Gin, or Dame Dedtime."

"Yeah! You'd better back off, or I'll mess you all up so good, you won't ever be able to get clean again!" A buff Yo-kai with no clothes punched into his other hand.

"Oh, don't worry about it, Untidy." A smaller Yo-kai with a black cane and luscious white beard eyed up the humans. "These humans are weak. Let's just inspirit them and continue. No need wasting our time with innocents, after all."

"It's gonna be fun when we get a hold of you and start to mess around with these other five." The smallest Wicked Yo-kai of all with a long-flowing hairstyle squeaked and cracked its' knuckles. "I'll enjoy laughing at their misery!"

"Enough talk, Wicked. Let's do this." A slender female Wicked Yo-kai slinked forward and held up one of her legs. She hissed, sticking her tongue out like a snake.

"I hope you're prepared for this, Twilight." Whisper watched the five Wicked Yo-kai advance on them. "These Wicked Yo-kai aren't gonna stop for anyone. So neither should you."

"I've already got the Yo-kai for the job." Twilight picked out her Yo-kai Medals and clutched them tightly in her hand. "Let's just hope this doesn't take long..."

"Hold on, Twilight. You're never gonna be able to take on these five alone." Sunset picked out her own medals and readied her watch.

"Five on one isn't fair, so let's make it five on three instead." Sci-Twi activated her own Yo-kai Watch and pulled out her Lie-in Heart medal. "It's not exactly even, but we've still got a better chance that way."

"You're right." Twilight smiled and nodded at her friends, as they all rammed their medals into their Yo-kai Watches. "Let's do this, everyone!"
