The Daemon Queen is dead. Her Swarm is ash mixed the the sands of the Badlands. The young Queen Jade of Diamonds is free to build a new home for her hive with her lover, David. At least, once the wheels of Equestrian politics are willing to turn in her favor. Until then, Jade entered a mentorship under Princess Twilight Sparkle in an attempt to realize her true powers as a Changeling Queen.

Meanwhile, the Reconstructed Dusk embarks on the first leg of her new mission, making friends. Though she finds herself being greatly hampered in her quest by the antics of her adorable new love interest... As well as the mystery of exactly who this Derpy is.

For my fan’s convenience: This story takes place in an alternate timeline of the Equisverse. No storyline beyond that of The Bridesmaids, Horseshoes, Dinner at Ravenloft, and The Queen is Dead happens or will happen in this timeline. However, some world events, elements of the setting, and concepts from other works of mine apply, but this only pertains to foundational concepts such as thaumaturgic current. This is the more “serious” timeline.
