My Little Pony: Dinosaurs Are Magic
Chapter 24: Passing On

"We will forever bear the memory of the Earth Spinosaurus, Talon, as she rests, cold in the grave." Celestia said as a casket was lowered into a hole by Rex, Obsidia, Toucan, and Unicorn Wizard. A tall, stone sculpted Spinosaurus stood proud, it's long jaws pointed toward the sky. The statue's tall vertabrae had carved onto it 'Rest In Peace... The Guardian Spinosaurus, Talon.' Standing next to the stone was the confident statue of an Ankylosaurus, etched into it's revealed side was 'Rest In Peace... A Loyal, Confident Ankylosaurus, Bastidon.'
"Now let us have a moment of silence for a deceased hero." Princess Celestia said sorrowfully, dropping her head and closing her eyes. She was followed by the dinosaurs and the rest of Obsidia's family. Dawn stood motionless, a frown upon her face as an autumn breeze ruffled her fur. Leaves blew around as the hybrid shivered slightly, her teeth clicking together in cold. The only reason that she even came to the funeral was respect.
Rex looked down sadly as dirt was thrown on top of the coffin, hollow thumps coming from the ground as slumps of of dirt struck the sleek black surface. A tear drop fell from his cheek onto the casket as Obsidia squeezed his hoof reassuringly. The stallion's shoulders sagged as his girlfriend handed him a bouquet of blood red roses. Toucan turned his head away from the grave as the last piles of dirt were placed on top of it. Onyx pulled a grimy Harley Davidson Motorcycles cap off of his head and put it against his chest, the wind blowing his mane. Ratchet pulled his metal helm off and placed it at his side. Bill Redwood stood, his head low as he mourned the loss. Scarlet Blitz held Thalia in her arms, rocking her back and forth to keep the alicorn quiet.
-One Hour Later-
Rex was the only one who remained at the grave, the flowers still in his hooves as he wiped away the tears from his eyes. With a sniff, the unicorn stallion gently placed the bouquet at the feet of the carved dinosaur. Rex let a sigh escape his throat before turning to leave.
"You seem like a nice guy." a voice said. The stallion looked up to see a tall, serpentine dragon. Well, at least it LOOKED like a dragon. It had a bird wing and a bat wing. An eagle's talon and a lion's paw. His back legs were a horse's hoof and a dinosaur's. It's head was topped with an antler and a horn. It had both scales and fur. Nonetheless it was the strangest creature that Rex had ever seen.
"Who are you?" the sorrowful stallion asked, lifting an eyebrow in confusion.
The newcomer stifled back a chuckle before a reply came. "You really don't know me? I am Discord, the Spirit of Disharmony. I am a Draconequus who does as he pleases WHEN he pleases. But you, my friend, are looking as blue as the waters of the Atlantic Ocean." Discord said, his smile vanishing as he saw the tears that Rex had been wiping away from his eyes. "You are sad, Rex... Why?" he asked, leaning down to eye level with the former Tyrannosaurus Rex.
"That's no business of yours. Now leave me be." he growled in response, not sensing the powerful magic radiating from the strange serpent.
"I can cure your pain." Discord said, letting his back feet touch the ground.
"Yeah. How?" Rex said matter-of-factly.
"Join me... Help me rid Equestria of those harmony brats." he replied with an intense glare crossing his face. "You will be rewarded greatly."
Rex lifted an eyebrow before hesitantly nodding his head.
"Good. You'll find them in Canterlot."
