"Everyone, fall behind the incarnates!" ordered Twilight.

"Circle Dag, she's the most vulnerable," Sunset added.

Quickly Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow, Apple Jack, Pinkie, and Sonata formed a circle around Adagio. Twilight, Sunset, Sparkle, and Shimmer took their compass positions. They raised their hands and an energy dome formed around them as the ghost attacked. They flung themselves against the dome over and over; their decaying mutilated faces pressing against the dome. They clawed and gnashed at it trying to get inside but it held tight. They overseer ghost would laugh and whip the other ghosts to attack again as one way would fall away.

"What do we now?" a terrified Rarity squealed.

"We go out and fight, that's what!" Rainbow snapped back, anxious to unleash some fury upon something, anything.

"They're ghost!" Rarity protested.

"We have magic," Rainbow answered back.

"Adagio doesn't," Sunset snapped at Rainbow. Rainbow started to say something but Sunset cut her off. She'd just lost (or at least just watched him die) Val; she wasn't about to risk Adagio.

"Can't we teleport?" asked Shimmer.

"No," Twilight answered. "Not while the shield is up. We'd have to drop it first and the way ghost are attacking; they'd be on us before we could get out."

"We need to do something," Sparkle said both frightened and annoyed. "We can't keep this up forever."

"Sunset," Adagio said softly.

"No," Sunset replied, knowing what she was going to say.

"Sunset," Adagio said a little louder and more forcefully.

"No!" Sunset replied even angrier.

"SUNSET!" Adagio said, stamping her foot down.

"NO!" Sunset yelled back. "I'm not losing you too!"

"Sunset, I'm not worth it."

"That's for me to decide!"

"No it's not! The entire multiverse is at stake. No single life is worth it, not that. You don't get out of her to stop Chrysalis, we're all dead anyhow. You can't save me but you can save the world. Do it."

Before Sunset could respond Fluttershy let out a squeal of horror. Everyone turned to look at her.

"I just realized," she said, "if those are the souls of those who were killed her; then some of them are the boys! Sandal is out there."

"Chip?" Apple said under her breath in despair.

"SOARIN!" yelled Rainbow.

"Val?" Sunset said as she scanned the ghosts to see if she could see him.

"Do you need even more Sunset?" asked Adagio. "You have to fight, you have to free them."

Sunset closed her eyes, fighting back tears. Adagio was right. She had been right before. Sunset didn't want to admit it but she was. It didn't seem fair to lose two people she loved on the same day but then who said life was fair? What made it all the worse was the fact that she knew she was a goddess. Shouldn't she have the ability, the right to make things fair? She then wondered who a goddess was supposed to pray to for help and guidance. It didn't matter. It was time to act.

She prepared to say good bye to Adagio when Rarity shouted, "Look!"

Adagio floated up, her eyes closed, head tilted back, and in a bling blink of light, she ponied up. More than that, she had her Siren wings and a horn coming out of her forehead. She floated back down, opened her eyes, turned to look at her wings, felt her horn, and said as unemotionally as possible, "I guess I do have magic after all."

Sunset smiled and nodded. "Alright girls, let's do this!"

The shield dropped and the ghosts rushed in. The incarnates shot beams of energy from their hands, dissolving the specters as they came. Fluttershy repulsed some with an energy shield. Rainbow hack and slashed away with her energy sword. Pinkie and Sonata called forth energy daggers which they used. Adagio, who's magic was the weakest, deflected and pushed back the ghosts as best she could. Apple called forth vines of energy to encircle and trap the ghosts.

A ghost rushed at Rarity, she lifted her hands to stop it. As soon as the ghost came in contact with her; it immediately threw itself back and in a blinding flash of light was transformed into what it had been in life, a beautiful young man, not much older than Rarity.

"Thank you," he said with a smile and disappeared.

It was then that Rarity knew what she had to do. "Stop fighting!" she yelled.

"Are you crazy!" shouted back Rainbow.

"No, I'm The Healer," she said with a smile. She reached out and grabbed another ghost who immediately transformed into a young girl who likewise smiled and disappeared.

"Everyone," shouted Twilight, "force the ghosts to Rarity."

They all started coming at Rarity. At first she tried to touch all of them before they got to her but then she realized as some went to bite or claw her, they were immediately transformed as well. She then decided to stop and let the ghost just come at her.

"No. NO!" the Overseer shouted. He ran at Rarity, preparing to whip her to death when he felt a hand on his shoulder and was thrown back. He looked in surprise, as did Sunset, as Val stood before him with huge wings. "How?" he said in shock.

"I wasn't sacrificed," he said in a booming, angelic voice, "I died fighting. The house, you, could not take me." He then turned to Sunset. "I told you I'd always fight by our side," he said with a smile.

Sunset's heart leapt with joy. All sorrow, all darkness was gone. Now she was concentrated entirely on the fight. "C'mon, let's do this!" she shouted at the others.

The Overseer got up and screamed, "DIE ANGEL!" He charged and released his whip. Val raised his arm and the whip twisted around it. He pulled hard at it, causing the Overseer to come at him faster. Val formed a sword of fire from his right hand and ran it through the heart of the Overseer as he came crashing into him.

"You first demon," Val whispered quietly.

The entire house began to shake. Sunset turned to Val.

"Go, finish quickly," he said. "The dark energy of this place has been vanquished, now the house is collapsing in on itself. Free them before it does or they'll be damned forever."

Sunset nodded and the girls redoubled their efforts. Soon the last ghosts were healed- Soarin, Sandal and Chip. Fluttershy, Apple, and Rainbow stepped forward to face their lost lovers.

"I'm sorry Flutter," Sandal said softly. "I tried to resist. I failed you."

"Never you silly hippie," Fluttershy gently scolded him through the tears.

"If it means anything, I busted one of those guys up pretty bad before they got me," Soarin said awkwardly to Rainbow.

"Oh just shut up and kiss me," Rainbow said tearfully.

"Apple," Chip went to say but was stopped by Apple. She whispered something to him. He leaned back and smiled. "I love you," he said.

"I love you too sugar cube."

Sunset walked up to Val. "Val, I'm sorry. I thought I was saving you,"

"You did," he cut her off. "If you hadn't had broken up with me while Aria was watching, I would have ended up just like the rest. From now on, I'm gonna call you Red Bull."

Sunset laughed and cried at the same time. "Why?" she asked.

"Because you gave wings," he smiled and spread his wings. Sunset hugged him, their wings wrapping around each other.

The house began to shake more and bits of plaster started falling. Val stepped back, concern upon his face. "You need to go now," he said. Then he looked up and over at Adagio. "Take good care of her."

Adagio smiled and nodded. "Always," she said.

Val kissed Sunset one last time. "Remember, until we meet again, I'm always by your side."

He and the other boys vanished and the house began to shake with the fury of the highest category earthquake. The girls ran out as the whole structure collapsed after them. They ran all the way to the street before they stopped and looked around.

"Whoa, talk about your Fall of the House of Usher," Shimmer said.

"Not the time," Rainbow said angrily.

"What the heck I'm I supposed to say then Rainbow? You've all had time to adjust to who you are. A month ago I was just a teenage girl. Yeah, I was a punk rock, genius, lesbian teenage girl, but a teen none the less. Now I'm a goddess fighting along side my extradimensional twin to save the universe from a bunch of Lovecraftian horrors. I'm sorry but I'm a bit overwhelmed here; so please allow me my quasi literary jokes. It's that or I have a complete emotional breakdown and we can't afford that right now."

"So what's next?" Apple asked.

"We go back to Sunsets' and find out where Visoko is," Twilight said.
