Chrysalis stood in the heart of the pyramid. It was easy getting there. There were no booby traps or mazes to trap or ensnare any would be intruders. It was just a straight walk back. Of course it was Morgorith who designed this place so what need would he have for any of those? The Goddesses might have trapped him here; but this was still his domain. And despite there being no windows or visible sources of light; the everything was lit somehow.

The heart was a grand room, easily sixty meters square. The stones that made up the stricter were a copper color. In the center was a smaller pyramid in the Mayan step style. At each corner was pillar and on top of each was a huge, polished crystal. The center pyramid went up about eighteen meters to a flat top. A bronze bowl was at each corner of the flat top. In the center of that was what looked to be a huge, somewhat glowing, block of ice. Behind that was a stone gateway that looked to be of Chinese influence. All along the steps leading up to the top were carved symbols; each having its own special purpose. Some looked Norse, some Egyptian, some Mayan, some Gaelic, some Sanskrit, all in all a mixture of just about every ancient culture there ever was on Earth.

Chrysalis smiled as she looked at it. This was it - the end of her journey; literally and figuratively. All those years back in Equestria, she thought she knew her purpose, who she was and she had to do. She had been wrong. This was what her real destiny had been all along. She could feel energy ripple through the chamber like the currents in water. It swirled and looped around her. It ebbed and flowed. A wave would wash over her and recede. It tickled and caressed her skin. It knew, he knew, THEY knew who she was and why she was here.

"Behold, I have become Death; the destroyer of worlds," she whispered to herself.

She started to walk toward the structure when she felt something. Her smile broadened. She knew what it was, who it was. Without turning her head she said, "So, you've finally made it."

The Goddesses let lose with a blast of energy from their hands and Chrysalis easily jumped out of the way. They blasted at her again and again but she avoided each without effort.

"What? No witty banter? No, 'you'll never get away with this' or 'you do not comprehend that which you are doing'? Not even a chance for me to monologue about why I'm doing what I'm doing? You really have no appreciation for drama do you?" Chrysalis taunted as she dodged blast after blast.

The Goddesses stopped and looked at her with blank expressions. Chrysalis smiled as she stood before them. "You could banish me to another dimension. Or turn me into stone or water or whatever. You could just cause my heart to stop beating. I mean you are Gods. Literal, all powerful gods. But you can't because you're not. Not here, not in their place. And this is their place. It's why you couldn't kill Morgorith all those millennia ago. You're power is blunted here. Declawed tigers you are. Out there you could have stopped me but no here and not now that I am connected. I am with Morgorith and he is with them; The First Ones, the ones lesser beings called The Black Gods of Death. I am beyond your reach now."

"YOU TALK TOO MUCH," they replied without emotion. "YOU THINK TOO HIGHLY OF YOURSELF. YOU ARE A BUG, A FLY. YOU BUZZ ABOUT BEING A NUSENCE BUT YOU ARE HARMLESS AND WILL BE SQUISHED EVENTUALLY"

"Nice trick there. Do you practice your lines so you can get them synced or are you just that good? Eh, never mind. I don't care." Chrysalis then outstretched her arms and beams of black light shot from her hands. The Goddesses formed shields and brought them in front of them. The blasts hit, moving The Goddesses back a bit but not much else. For minutes they stood there, Chrysalis blasting away and The Goddesses standing firm. Eventually Chrysalis' power began to wane. She felt tired, fevered, she had to stop.

"THE BODY YOU STOLE IS BREAKING DOWN. IT CAN NOT SUSTAIN THAT MUCH POWER. IT DECAYS AS YOU WILL WITH IT."

Chrysalis softly chuckled. "Then it looks like I'll have to get rid of it." Flashes head snapped back, his mouth opening as wide as it could. A geyser of what looked like black tar came erupting out. It went up in a straight line and began to spread out until it had it's final shape. It was Chrysalis, black, decayed, holes that dripped pus and blood covering her body. She had massive, demonic wings, clawed feet and hands, burning green eyes, a small muzzle full of razor sharp teeth, a long, rotting horn protruding from her forehead, and long, dark blue and black hair that was matted and knotted. Flash fell to the floor unconscious.

From out in the hallway, Adagio watched. She had at first been amazed by how ineffectual The Goddesses were. Then she saw as Chrysalis had been unable to best The Goddesses and she wondered if the two sides would be locked in an eternal deadlock. Then she saw Chrysalis in her final form and gasped in horror. She started to go in, to add her power to the fight but then she saw Flash fall. Was he ok? Was he dead? Could he be saved? Adagio decided she had to try.

Using her power, she teleported Flash out of there and beside her. She shook him and slapped his face. She called his name as loud as she felt she could. Eventually he opened his eyes and looked at her.

"Adagio?" he asked weakly.

"Sh. I'm going to get you out of here. You need to get to Rarity."

Flash nodded and then said, "Now I know what you must have gone through. I'm sorry."

Adagio was astonished that after all he had gone through, he was empathizing with her about her experience. She smiled, stroked his cheek, as a tear ran down her cheek. "You had it worse. Don't worry; we'll help each other through it once this is over." She lifted him up and the two made their way out.

"SO YOU SHOW YOUR TRUE SELF FOR BATTLE," The Goddesses said to Chrysalis.

"Indeed I do; but not how you think." She flung herself backwards and landed with a splat on the ice looking thing. She turned into a black ooze again and it slowly enveloped the entire structure. Soon a cracking sound was heard and then an explosion. Where once the ice structure had stood, now a man sitting on a throne was. He was dressed in ancient Middle Eastern robes. Blue with red trim and gold embroidery. He was old, bald, with a ring of white hair around his head. He opened his eyes and they were as black as the void. He slowly got up and looked down at The Goddesses. Chrysalis had given her life to free Morgorith.
