"Alright everyone; teleport inside!" Sunset commanded the others.

The four Incarnates focused and tried to teleport but were instantly seized by what felt like a massive electrical shock. They dropped to their knees as Adagio looked on in concern.

"What the heck was that?" asked Shimmer in pain and confusion.

"It's a magical barrier," Twilight said. "I heard Chrysalis had one surrounding the Changeling hive back in Equestria. She must have found a way to put one up here."

"So what do we do now?" asked Sparkle frightened that all they went through might have been for naught.

Twilight looked at Sunset who instantly locked eyes with her. Twilight saw with a mild panic what Sunset was about to do. "No," Twilight said to her as both a plea and command.

"Twilight, she's inside and we're locked out. I have to," Sunset replied in sorrow.

"Wait," Shimmer said looking back and forth between the two; confused. "What's going on? No what? What do you have to do? Would one of you freakin' fill me in please!"

"She's going to go back in time and stop Chrysalis when she first got here," Twilight said as matter-of-factly as she could but the disappointment she had bled through.

Shimmer looked at Sunset in shock. "Wait. I thought one of the outcomes of that was complete annihilation. Right? RIGHT?"

"We, I, don't know for sure. Even if it did, this universe for every other universe. The choice is clear," Sunset responded defeated. She knew what she was planning on doing meant and her heart sank because of it. She was about to become the biggest mass murderer of all time.

"Oh HELL no!" Shimmer exclaimed. "We're better than this. I admit, I'm new to all this stuff yet; but you're still me and I would never do something like that."

"Then what would you have me do? Huh? TELL ME! Because we're running out of time and options here."

"Sunset," Sparkle spoke up softly and full of compassion. "Out of all the scenarios we talked about last night about the possible outcomes of trying to change time; only one turned out well. Universal destruction is also only one possibility. An endless time loop is another. Would you want that? to relive this nightmare over and over again for all time?"

"And when I battled Starlight," Twilight interjected, "I saw multiple futures; giving credibility to the idea that you don't actually change time but merely create another universe. If that's the case this universe will still exist and the threat will be just as real. I know things work differently there as we talked about earlier; but you can't ignore the possibility."

Sunset sighed and held her arms out at her side. "So, I ask again, what am I to do?" she asked hopelessly.

Twilight walked over to her and placed her right hand on Sunset's left upper arm. "I have an idea. I think it's time we touched our others," she said with a reassuring smile.

"Hold up," Shimmer protested. "I thought you said that is the one thing we should never do? You know; 'don't cross the streams' and all."

Twilight looked at her confused. "I don't get the reference but I think it's time now."

Sparkle walked up behind Shimmer and put her hand on her shoulder. "Besides, crossing the streams is what helped The Ghostbusters win," Sparkle said with the same reassuring smile as Twilight.

Shimmer was the one that sighed this time. "Ah screw it. Wouldn't be the first time I touched myself. You ready horsey me?"

"Pony, unicorn, alicorn, you know what, let's just do this," Sunset said frustrated and annoyed.

The four Incarnates squared off, facing their extradimensional double. They looked into each others eyes and saw the raging fire that laid inside. They also saw the nobility and goodness that each possessed as well. It was then they knew they were doing the right thing. They held out their opposing hands at first and then decided as one to simply embrace the other.

As soon as they touched, each pairing was consumed by an intense dome of light. The wind began to blow at tremendous speeds, lightning crashed, thunder boom. The Apple Jack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Sonata all looked up and around in amazement as the sky seemed to come alive. They could all feel a strange energy surrounding and over taking them. Adagio stood and tried to watch but couldn't; the light was simply too bright.

The domes began to shrink and take on the shape of a woman. The light dimmed and took on color. Where once there had been four, now only two stood. One Sunset Shimmer, one Twilight Sparkle. Sunset had hair and wings of flame, golden skin and armor. At her side was a sword of fire. She was they day, the sun, fire and fury. Twilight was lavender with midnight colored hair that floated in an eternal breeze. Stars and galaxies appeared to float in it. Her armor was a dark, royal purple. At her side was a sword the color of the black eternity of space. She was ice, the night, cool and mysterious. Each stood about three meters tall.

"Well, that was . . . unexpected," Adagio said as she lowered her arms from in front of her face. She was at a lost for both words and emotions.

The two looked over at Adagio and spoke as one. "WE ARE THE SISTERS OF ETERNITY, THE SECOND BORN OF NOTHINGNESS, THE IMPRISONERS OF THE FIRST ONES, GUARDIANS OF THE MULTIVERSE."

"Well, that's not pompous at all," Adagio snarked out of reflex.

"WHEN TWO ARE JOINED, ALL ARE ONE. FROM ACROSS ETERNITY WE ARE UNITED. " With that they turned to the pyramid. In unison, they pulled back their fists and brought them down. Sparks of electricity exploded across the surface of an invisible dome. Again they drew back and brought their fists down again. This time, whatever it was that had been protecting the pyramid gave way as the force of its shattering threw Adagio back and to the ground. Once more they brought their fist down and stone door shattered into dust. Without looking around or hesitation they walked inside.

The other girls came running up to Adagio and picked her up.

"Are you ok Dagi?" Sonata asked worried.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Adagio brushed herself off. She was shaken a bit but uninjured.

"So, I take it that was them then?" Apple asked in awe and concern.

"Yeah," Adagio answered back absently. "Those were The Goddesses."

No one looked at each other, they all just looked at the pyramid with its new, huge, gaping hole. They were frightened and in awe. Words could not convey the mixture of emotions they felt. They had seen their friends transform into actual deities. How could one possibly comprehend, let alone process something like that? Even after everything else they had been through, this was something new, something different. This was a whole nother level. This was the cosmic divine made flesh and come to Earth.

"I'm going in," Adagio said and started forward when Rainbow Dash grabbed her.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Where do you think you're going? That fight is way above our pay grade! There's nothing you can do in there but die."

"I'm still powered up. They need me. SHE needs me and I need to be there for her," Adagio protested.

"Darling," Rarity said gently, "that's not Sunset anymore. That's a God. Capital g god."

"Doesn't matter. If I had come forward sooner, maybe we could have avoided all this."

"We all could have done things differently," Fluttershy said softly. "That's no reason to risk your life now."

"No, but saving everything is. I have caused so much pain and suffering in my life and I enjoyed doing it. I'm not that person anymore but those deeds are still mine. This is my shot to make amends. Maybe not to the past; but at least to the future. I'm going in there to help. If I don't come back out, so be it. In the end the scales have to be balanced; if not for the universes' sake, then at least for mine. If you can power back up, come in as well. I have the feeling it's going to take all of us still."

The others just looked at each other. Then, without saying a word, they all came to agreement. Rainbow let go of Adagio. "Good luck," she simply said. "We'll join you if we can."

Adagio nodded, smiled at everyone, and then ran in.
