That Weekend

After a pretty standard week at school, and multiple cuddle sessions with Ditzy, Shard lay in his back garden on a sun bed with his jacket off revealing the orange t-shirt underneath. He lay with his legs crossed and his arms behind his head, sunglasses on and a smug smile on his face. Taking in a breath of the fresh Saturday morning air he looked up at the clear blue sky. "Life is great."

"Master Shard?" Looking to the right he saw Rayleigh floating over to him. "I brought you some cola to help keep you hydrated out here while you relax in the sun." The robot handed the glass of the delicious drink to Shard.

"Thank you Ray, I appreciate it." He thanked before downing the contents.

"You're welcome sir, by the way, a letter arrived for you in the mail this morning but there was no name of who sent it on the envelope, just a symbol." Rayleigh reached into his storage unit and pulled out a light blue envelope with an emblem of two dark blue 'C's back to back.

Warning, now entering plot territory, prepare yourself for some random bullshit that will act as the first main story arc

Shard took off his sunglasses as he sat up and took to letter. "Now why would they of all people send me a letter, I haven't even seen the managers son in years." Opening the letter he began reading the contents, his eyes widening as he reached the end. "What?!"

"Sir, is everything alright?" Rayleigh asked in concern.

Shard blinked and shook himself. "Yes, everything's fine, just a little shocked is all." Shard set the letter down and rubbed his face with both hands. "Ray can you go tell Mom that I'll be gone for the day, and send a message to Ditzy to wait outside her house so I can pick her up in about two hours? I've gotta go do a few things."

"With pleasure sir, might I ask where you are going with Miss Doo?"

Shard stood up and put on his jacket. "CyCorp Industries, I'm going to visit an old friend."

"Shall I accompany you when I have completed my tasks?"

Shard looked over to his new robot sidekick. "Yeah, I'm sure that my old friend will get a kick out if seeing you." With that Sahrd walked off.

"Oh dear, this must be serious if Master Shard had to mysteriously walk off without giving a lot of details, I'd best hurry along." Rayleigh picked up the now empty glass and floated his way back into the house.

Ditzy stood on the sidewalk just in front of her house and watched as Shards car entered the street. As it pulled up she saw Rayleigh with his limbs retracted to fit in the back seat of the car. "Good morning Miss Doo."

"Morning Ray." She climbed into the passenger seat and smiled at Shard. "Morning Shard."

"Morning Ditzy." He planted a quick kiss on her check before driving.

"So what's happening? We going on some kind of surprise date?"

Shard frowned. "Something like that."

Ditzy noticed his negativity and looked at him concerned. "Shard what's wrong?"

He sighed and looked to Ditzy. "I'm going to see someone I haven't seen in a long time, and I just...couldn't do it alone, not with what's happened to him."

"Well, I won't ask you about this person, but I will ask where we are going."

"CyCorp Industries, they had built a building a three months back to serve as their branch for this part of America."

"You mean that super advanced company that has that huge white building in the main part of Canterlot City?"

"Yes, I figured if I'm going there I might as well give my girlfriend a look at what they do there, where do you think I got the mainframes and advanced circuitry for Ray." Shard handed Ditzy a white ID card with a small photo of his face with the CyCorp logo on one corner.

"You're an employee there?"

"Well, not so much an employee, I'm someone that reports in every once in awhile to inform the scientists there of how my progress on my projects are coming along. But I would never give them the plans for Rayleigh or anything dangerous. I only joined their program to be a sort of tester for some of their tech, needed some money to pay for bills when my dad couldn't because of low income before he got transferred here." Shard pulled onto the highway and took the card back.

Ditzy slouched in her seat and went into deep thought. "There is more to you than you let on isn't there?"

"That's the cliche of it yeah, don't worry I'm not involved in some kind of secret government experiment or something dumb like that." Shard explained, looking to the side where he saw a tall skyscraper made of smooth white metal with blue neon lights going up the curved left side, a balcony above the main entrance which was made of blue glass stairs and two huge white doors surrounded by two huge blue 'C's.

Meanwhile in CyCorp

In a room with a blue floor and a white dome ceiling a group of three young teens sat on fancy white leather couches, with a forth looking out of a window overlooking the city.

"You think Shard will actually come?" One asked, he had cyan hair and eyes. His clothing consisted of a jumped with an arrow pattern with each arrow being a different shade of blue, large foam cyan rings on the wrists and collar.

"Of course he will Cyan, after what happened he's sure to show up, otherwise the story won't go nowhere." Another replied. He had spiky brown hair and a small buzz of a beard, sideburns connecting them. He wore a dark blue coat, yellow t-shirt, light blue jeans and brown boots. His yellow eyes turned to look to the one staring out the window. "So, you mind telling us your little plan Cybe?"

"Leave him alone for now Gray, he's not in the mood." A boy with long white hair said. He had purple eyes and wore a purple shirt that he kept open to show the white tanktop underneath. He also wore grey trousers and purple boots, as well as a necklace that was made of a black wire holding a silver sun medallion.

"Yeah, you're right Symbol. This has gotta be emotional for him, it's emotional enough for us as it is, for him though..." Gray shook his head.

Meanwhile the boy at the window, now known as Cybe, spotted a certain black car coming up the road from the building. His brown hair stood tall in large spikes, like sonic the hedgehogs except way smaller. He wore a grey short sleeved hoodie with two blue stripes over the chest and waist. What stood out about him with his right arm and his legs.

Although covered by his grey jeans his legs were mechanical as well as his right arm. He clenched his metal claw and put his organic head to his face, where a metal face mask covered his chin to his nose, still leaving the top half of his face visibl. "It's been far too long, Shard."

Yep I'm doing something like this, gotta have so,e conflict in the story and I ain't doing any unstable romance crap that eventually gets sorted out.

Fun Facts:
The characters Cyan and Cybe stared alongside Shard in my first ever human in Equestria story that was deleted a few months back, it was called Misplaced For Redemption. I've been bring the characters from that story back as they were too good to just delete. Cybe even has his own story, you can find it here
