Redline, Nighthawk and Beats are ex-agents from Synergy Inc., a company that protects Equestria from evil forces. The three ponies must be reunited with the corporation to help retrieve a stolen artefact that can grant anyone extreme superpowers.

The story takes place in 2015, the modern timeline, where technology is advanced, as well as the government and the society.
