The idol

It's been a whole year of training for A.K Yearling/Daring Do, but it was worth it. She grew, almost similar to dogs & cats in a few years, as she was nearly twice her size already, her wings didn't make a buzzing sound anymore, but flapped more like a bird's wings, and her English has gotten better. Indiana was able to teach her how to use a bullwhip as a just in case weapon and a way of traveling if her wings were ever broken. Along with the Whip, Daring Do was given a thorough education in world history, anthropology, and architecture, while, for her disguise as A.K.Yearling, reading & writing, which she excelled at. It was considered a bit of a bad idea to bring A.K. Yearling with him to help teach the class in Greek legend, as half of the students gasped that a pony could talk while the other half were too distracted from her in the adorable disguise. To say Yearling didn't like the attention was an understatement, as she blushed and tried to make her hat & shawl as a way to hide like a tortoise would.

While it was embarrassing for her to show herself as A.K.Yearling, it wasn't as her own made up self, Daring Do. Indiana Jones received news & an old map that lead to an idol in South America. Though Indy wasn't sure, he was convinced by his daughter that she was ready! Her confidence, training, and intelligence made her ready. With the help of a lone & funny pilot named "Jock" (who found Daring Do as a cute form of Indiana Jones), and four local villagers, two acting as guided with the other two acting as their helpers, they set off to find an idol of the lost Hovitos people. They tracked their way into the forest, hearing the various wildlife around them, losing one of them by a statue that 'spewed' at him with bats, and the other near the entrance of a stream. Indy checked his map as Daring Do landed on his right shoulder, using only her front hooves to carry her and allowing her back legs & tail to dangle. A small click was heard, and Indy turned his head to the left while Daring's left ear flickered. Daring flew away from her father as he turned around, took out his whip, and snapped the whip away from one of their 'friends', who pulled a pistol on them, planning on killing them for what was most likely to get more money. As his plan failed, the man quickly ran away, as Indy rolled his whip back into his belt.

"And that's why you always carry your whip." Indiana spoke as Daring landed next to him.

"That was amazing!" Daring commented. "So where's the idol?" Indy looked around, then found a cave. He climbed the hill.

"This is it. This is where Forrestal cashed in." He picked up a bag and placed some sand in it.

"A friend of yours?" the other man asked with a Spanish accent.

"A Competitor. He was good."

"Very, very good." Daring Added. They both turned to exit the cave. Their partner stopped Indy.

"Hombres," he said "nobody's come out of there alive."

"There's always a first." Daring replied, flying in. They entered the cave, seeing cobwebs around and on them.

"Hold on." Indiana said. Daring Do stopped. A lone spider was on her back. Indy flicked the spider away, and Daring watched it land on the floor and run away.

"Senior." Their partner said. Daring flew over and saw a few spiders on her father's back. Their partner swiped the spiders off for him. Indy turned around and saw a spider on their partner's shoulder. He signaled him to turn around, which he followed. His whole back was covered in spiders.

"Your turn." Indy said.

"Ugh!" Daring groaned in disgust. "Hold still." She took her hat off and batted at the spiders, making them fall to the floor and run away. After their little distraction, they went into a hallway with some light coming in from the walls. Daring was ready to buzz through, but was stopped as Indy held her by her tail.

"Stop." Indy stated "Stay out of the light." Indy crawled under the light, followed by Daring, who simply trotted on the floor. Indiana carefully waved his hand at the light, and out of the wall was some sharp, metal spikes with a skeleton at the end! Daring squealed a bit, hiding behind her father, but their partner screamed loudly. Indy recognized what the skeleton wore easily.

"Forrestal." He muttered under his breath. The three came across a large gap on the floor, where a wooden log was held above what looked a bottomless pit. Daring easily flew over it, leaving the humans to use Indy's whip as a way to get across the gap. Indy went first, followed by their partner. The log moved down a bit, making their partner's land uncoordinated, forcing Indy to grab him by his belt area and Daring to fly back and push him forward.

"It's alright," Daring reassured him "We got you!" He was saved and Indy placed the whip around a rock nearby. They entered a room and, staring in awe, at the end of the room, was a small, golden statue.

"Let's hurry!" Their partner spoke, almost running ahead "There's nothing to fear here!!!" Indy grabbed the partner.

"That's what scares me." He replied. He pulled out a log from the wall and took a step near a mud covered diamond shaped tile on the floor. Carefully, he pressed the tile with the log. An arrow came from the wall, hitting the log. They both looked at Daring Do. She looked up tot hem and smiled, flapping her wings.

"Bag please!" She insisted. Indiana pulled the bag of sand and gave it to her.

"Be careful, okay?" he said with some worry.

"Don't worry about it! Daring Do's here!" She flew over the booby-trapped floor, carrying the bag in her front hooves. She stared in awe at the statue, seeing her reflection off of it. She scratched her chin, wondering how this will work. She pulled the bag out, carefully took some sand out, and, in very long feeling seconds, she snagged the Idol and placed the bag of sand in it's place! Nothing happened for a few moments, but as soon as she turned around, the place rumbled! Pieces of the roof fell from the ceiling, as the place began to collapse.

"RUN!!!" Indiana Jones yelled. Daring flew out of the room unharmed, and followed everyone to the pit! The partner swung ahead and landed on the other side, though the whip came unloose around the log. Daring, still carrying the idol, flew next to him. The room had a stone door closing down on them, becoming their tomb it their don't exit and make their way to freedom

"Give me the Whip!" Indy yelled. Their parnter turned to Daring and extended his hand to her.

"Give me the idol!"

"Give the rope to my dad!" She yelled

"First, give me the idol!" Daring stared at him with an angered look. She lifted the idol and hit his head with it, knocking him out! She placed the idol next to him, carried the whip, and gave it to her dad.

"Did you really have to knock him out?" He asked as he swung the whip across the log.

"He was going to run away with the idol and keep all the money to himself. Plus, I don't think he'd survive the light trap we just went through."

"Fair enough." He swung across the gap, but lost his balance on the ledge. Daring flew right behind and pushed her father up. He regained his balance and carried the man while Daring picked up the idol. The made it past the lgiht trap easily, and ran ahead into the near entrance of the cave. They heard something coming and looked behind: a huge boulder was rolling towards them! Indiana Jones ran with the unconscious traitor while Daring Do held the idol in her hooves and flying towards the exit! Indiana Jones jumped out of the hole, using the traitor as a pillow, and Daring Do landed on his father's chest, still holding the Idol in her hooves. They both looked at each other, smiled, then laughed out loud! They stopped, however, as around them were people, all naked with the exception of loin clothes and beads around their necks, all holding spears & primitive weapons. The man who pulled a pistol on Indy stood near them, then fell to the floor face-first with small pricks & blood coming out from his back. Another man came from right behind, wearing a tan version of Daring Do's suit.

"Dr. Jones," he spoke in a noticeable German accent "and... a... pegasus?"

"I'm Daring Do!" She replied in an angered tone.

"...so I see. Again, Dr. Jones, again, we see there is nothing you can posses which I cannot take away. And you thought I'd given up."

"What's he talking about?"

"Not now." Indy slowly pulled a pistol out, but the tribesmen aimed their weapons at the two. Indy looked around and reluctantly gave him his pistol.

"You've chosen the wrong friends," the man commented on them, then looked at Daring Do. "And the wrong pets."

"...Pet?" Daring asked, her wings flapping "Did you... just call me... A PET!?!?!?" The tribemen lowered their weapons and backed up, speaking in their own language. "Listen here mister: I may not be the same species as you, I don't have hands nor a taste in meat, but I know one thing: I AM DR. JONE'S DAUGHTER AND THERE'S NOTHING THAT'LL CHANGE THAT!!!" she held the idol in the air and spoke in an unknown language to Indy. All of the Tribesmen bowed down to Daring Do worshiping her as some sort of god.

"*GET THEM!!!*" They ignored him, chanting to Daring Do instead.

"We'll give you a ten second start, Belloq" Indiana smirked. Belloq walked back bit, then ran away!

"*Get him!*" Daring Do ordered in their language. The Tribemen cheered and ran after Belloq! Daring Do flew down and landed into Indy's extended arms, snuggling herself into his chest.

"How did you do that?"

"I... really don't know. It felt natural." A glowing light came around Daring's flank area, and on it was now a compass! Both Indy and Daring Stared at the mark on Daring's rump.

"And what is that?"

"I have no idea."

"Maybe an expert can help us?"

"Oh sure, is there an expert that studies any pegasus for a living?"

"...point taken."

The two walked out of the forest and found Jock, who was fishing. Daring flew over to Jock with the Idol in her hooves.

"Is that the idol?" Jock asked, staring at the idol.

"Yep!" Daring replied. Jock looked at Daring's flank.

"Did you get a tatoo or something?"

"I... really can't explain. It just appeared in flash of light."

"... Jeez, Dr. Jones adventures sure are weird. Hold on, what to see what I got?"

"Sure!" Indy swam cross the lake and climbed on the side of the plane. Jock dug into what was Indy's seat during their journey over to South America.

"What is it?" Indy asked, squeezing the water out of his coat.

"I call him Reggie." Jock answered. He pulled out an anaconda. Indy immediately screamed and jumped into the water! Daring looked into the water as Jock placed the snake around her neck.

"Dad!" She yelled "What's wrong? Are you afraid of snakes?"

"I HATE SNAKES!!!" He screamed in fear "I HATE 'EM!!!" Both Jock and Daring looked at each other, then laughed together. Next Chapter: Marion Ravenwood and the bar fight. Estimated time remaining: 18 Minutes
