I'm Dawing Do!

The three were inside a small, private room with trophies around & papers regarding the museum's budgeting and other things. Both Indy and Marcus sat down together on a table, discussing about Indy's last adventure and how he meet A.K. Yearling. Yearling, meanwhile, finished her third apple, letting out a small burp with a slightly bloated belly. She got up and began to walk around the room, occasionally buzzing her wings to get to the desk, a chair, or any of the shelves to get a closer look at the various objects that peaked her interest.

"So," Marcus spoke "Not only did you saved a village from an evil cult, but immediately, you found her at that night and took a liking to her already, bringing her home with you?"

"...When you say it like that," Indy replied "yeah, that's what happened."

"Fascinating. Now, what do you plan on doing with Ms... um... what was your name again, Miss?" They both turned to see A.K. Yearling on the desk, taking a tan pith helmet off the head off a mannequin head. She placed her head in it, though it covered her head.

"Look Daddy!" She said while trying to maintain her balance, her voice a bit muffled from the pith helmet. "I'm Dawing Do! Famous adventuwah like you!" She took a step forward but fell down, letting out an "Ooph!".

"Wait a minute." Indy spoke. He walked over to Yearling and helped her up, balancing the pith helmet on her head. She smiled at her father, and Dr. Jones got an idea that may just work: He will train her as his apprentice in Archaeology and Treasure hunting! "What was your name again?"

"Daddy, I'm A.K. Yeawing!"

"No, not that one, the other one." She tilted her head to the side.

"...Dawing Do?"

"Yes... YES!!! Yearlihng, how would you like to become Daring Do!?" Yearling gasped and buzzed in the air again, landing in her father's arms

"And become the next adventurer!?!?!? I'd love it!!!"

"Dr. Jones!" Marcus yelled "She can't do that! That type of life is dangerous and repulsive!!!"

"Don't worry about it," Jones replied "I'll teach her all what I know & have learned personally."

"Everything?" She asked, her eyes beaming with excitement.

"As much as I can. But, first, we need you to do two things." Yearling tilted her head to the side.

"Two things?"

"They're easy really. One is the clothing you will wear as A.K. Yearling, and one for Daring Do."

"...Don't you stay the same?"

"Almost. What you're seeing is myself as 'Indiana Jones', but you'll see me as myself as 'Professor Jones'... just as soon we get home. Marcus, is my stuff home?"

"It is," Marcus replied "your clothes are washed and at your house."

"Good. And, sorry Yearling, but you're going to need a bath as well." Yearling shrugged her front hooves shoulders.

"I agwee," she admitted "I smell nasty and need a bath weally bad." Indy smiled again, carrying her daughter and caressing her mane again.

"She certainly isn't like any other child." Marcus commented.

"I know," Indy nodded "and that's another reason I love her."

"And I Wove you too, Daddy." Yearling replied, snuggling her head into his chest.

"This... it's too cute." Marcus commented "Go and spend time with her. I'm pretty sure with her attitude and with your perseverance, she's going to be as great as you."

"I actually think she's going to surpass me in many ways." Indy spoke with a large smile. "She may not have hands, but she should do more than me in every other way."

"With the right training, of course."

"Definitely."

"And, for her, let her keep the hat."

"Seriously?"

"As a gift... and an apology."

Both Indy and Yearling entered their home in the cover of dark. Jones filled & clogged the kitchen sink with warm water and placed Yearling in it, along with some soap in it to make a bubble bath for her. She placed her head under the running sink, using the water as her own shower, getting rid of the dust & dirt behind her ears. Jones turned on the radio and music played. Yearling turned to the radio and stared at it, her ears flickering and her head tilting with curiosity as her father washed her in a way that felt like a firm, but, at the same time, a soft massage. He was careful around her wings, as they seemed a lot more fragile than her body, and massaged her mane to get rid of the filth that her hooves that she couldn't get. As soon as her bath was done, he dried her off with a towel, making sure she was dry thoroughly. She walked to the radio and turned the nob. Another song played.

"You have fun with that," Indy replied, turning and going to his bathroom for his shower. While showering, he could hear Yearling playing with the radio, rapidly changing the songs playing and both raising & lowering the volume. He came out in his pajamas, seeing Yearling on the radio and batting at the radio's speakers.

"Don't wowwy!" She yelled "I'ww save you!!!" Jones hollered with laughter while placing his palm over his face.

"Yearling," He spoke still chuckling "that's what it's suppose to do."

"Keep people inside!?"

"No! It's to play music." He walked over and turned off the radio, then carried Yearling into his room. He placed her on his soft bed and watched as she walked around in a circle and flopped onto one of the pillows. He sat next to Yearling, making her raise her head and tilting it. He pulled out his journal and a pencil with it.

"Now," he said "you're going to need a disguise for both sides: one for A.K. Yearling and the other for Daring Do. Let's start off with you, Yearling; what do you think you should wear?"

"What should I wear?" She asked "Well... what do you wear?"

"Me? Well... first, I keep my hair groomed, next, I wear a suit with a bow tie, and finally, as the last piece, I wear glasses."

"Gwasses?"

"Glasses."

"But... why? Can't you see?"

"I can see, these glasses don't do anything to my sight at all. In that, I am a teacher at the Marshall College, but when I'm not in that, well, you already know. Think you can make a disguise?"

"Well... I have an idea." He lifted her and placed her on his lap. He then prepared to write what his daughter will say.

"Tell me about it."

"Well... I think the gwasses will work!" He began to write down into the journal

"...Glasses."

"And not just any gwasses, they... have to be... red gwasses!!!"

"Red glasses?"

"Red Gwasses! Also... a gwey hat!"

"A grey hat? What type?"

"...What are most people wearing today?"

"...A Cloche?"

"Yeah! A gwey cwoche with... uh... a white wibbon on it!"

"White... Ribbon. Sounds good, but I think most people will recognize you with those wings."

"Oh yeah! Well... a... a puwple shawl!!!"

"A Purple shawl?"

"Yeah! It'll look good! I can tell."

"It... actually does. But what should you do? You do stick out among people?"

"Weally? Well... OH!!! I can be a witer!!!"

"A writer?"

"Yeah! I... I can say I'm good fwiends with Dawing Do and she would like me to wite her stowies down!"

"That... sounds good actually." He looked at the pith helmet "I take it you want the pith helmet as Daring Do?" She nodded her head.

"It's cool!" He looked into the closet and noticed something he hadn't seen in a long time: a dark olivine vest that his old dog, Indiana, wore when he was a puppy.

"Hold on there, I think I found something." He placed Yearling next to him and walked into the closet. He took the vest and sat next to Yearling. He then made two holes for Yearling's wings to pop out of. "Hold still." He carefully placed Yearling's head into the vest, her hooves popping out of the sleeves, her wingd popping out of the holes, and her head popping out of the collar. It fits perfectly! Yealing, now Daring Do, looked down at herself and jumped with excitement!

"YAY!!!" She cheered "Look out wowld, here come's Dawing Do!!!"

"Soon." Indy replied, rustling her mane "You first need training on what to do."

"I'm going to be the best adventuwew of all time!!!"

"With that attitude, I'm certain you'll be, but first, you need to rest. Our training begins tomorrow."

"Yes Daddy." Jones turned off the lights around his house and got comfortable in his bed, placing the blanket on him. Daring Do, as they first meet, got onto her father's chest, turned around in a circle, then fell to the ground, letting out one small & adorable yawn before sleeping again. Indy noticed what she did and placed both of his hands around her, one near her head and the other over her hind legs. Though she was asleep, she placed her front hooves over his fingers, using his hands as her own blanket. The sound of the crickets outside, the ocasional car driving by, and, to Daring Do/ A.K. Yearling, Indy's heart, were the only things heard as both father & daughter slept through the night.   Next Chapter: The idol Estimated time remaining: 27 Minutes
