Prime Universe Equivalent: Dragonshy

Fluttershy was a jolly Pegasus just chilling around nature and feeding the animals. All was going well until she noticed the cloud of smoke covering Ponyville.

"Oh my..." was Fluttershy's comment.

Begin Theme. Twinkling Balloon holding Spike and Twilight descends.

Cloud Zoom Transition. Rainbow Dash is absent. Twilight climbs out of the basket with Spike on her back and trots into Ponyville.

Spike falls from a high height in front of a Cloudsdale-like background while screaming like a mare.

Fade to Black.

Fluttershy trotted into Ponyville in an attempt to warn the citizens of the danger of smoke.

"EVERYPONY! There's a horrible cloud of smoke! It's headed this way!" Fluttershy attempted to get their attention.

Although she spoke loud enough, the main reaction Fluttershy got from the citizens was one that said "Oh really? You think we didn't notice?", much to her chagrin.

"But there's smoke. And where there's smoke, there's fire," Fluttershy tried to explain.

Still, the same uncaring reaction. Fluttershy let out a frustrated sigh. Luckily, her friend Twilight arrived with Spike on her back to finally reason with the dense villagers.

"Listen up! Smoke is spreading over all of Ponyville," Twilight matter-of-factly proclaims.

Comments of "What?", "Oh no!", and "That's awful!" can be heard through the pony population. Fluttershy hung her head low and was about to leave until she heard Twilight's explanation. This action was noticed by Spike who now was concerned for the Pegasus.

"But don't worry, I've received a letter from Princess Celestia informing me that it is not coming from a fire," Twilight continues, "It's coming from a dragon."

A collective intake of air known as a gasp swept through the Ponyville population.

"A dragon?" Fluttershy meeped.

Transition to the Golden Oak Library. The Mane 6, Apple Bloom, and Spike are there.

"What is a full-grown dragon doing here in Ponyville?" Applejack asked.

"Sleeping," Twilight matter-of-factly states.

The rest all went, "Huh?"

"According to Princess Celestia, he's taking a nap. His snoring is what's causing all this smoke," Twilight continued.

"He should really see a doctor. That doesn't sound healthy at all," Pinkie commented.

"Well, at least he's not snoring fire. What are we meant to do about it?" Rarity questioned.

"I'll tell you what we need to do. Give him the boot!" Rainbow exclaimed.

"We need to encourage him to take a nap somewhere else. Princess Celestia has given us this mission, and we must not fail. If we do, Ponyville will be covered in smoke for the next one hundred years," Twilight corrected.

"Hmph. Talk about getting your beauty sleep," Rarity scoffed.

"Alright, we need to have a plan. Is there somepony that is very good at talking with different creatures?" Twilight inquired.

Immediately, all stares went to Fluttershy.

"Uh, why are you all staring at me?" Fluttershy nervously chuckled.

"Well Fluttershy, if you haven't noticed, your cutie mark is one for animal care," Rarity started.

"But... but... who's going to take care of my animals while I'm away?" Fluttershy attempted to make excuses.

"Easy! As your best friend, I shall take responsibility of your animals!" Rarity puffed her chest out.

"Hold on a second! I should be the one taking responsibility here! As Fluttershy's fillyhood friend, I should be the one she trusts, don't you think?" Rainbow countered.

The Unicorn and Pegasus butted heads and threw insults at each other as Fluttershy and the rest of the ponies/dragon in the room watched with blank expressions. Eventually, it was settled that both Rarity and Rainbow Dash would take care of the animals, much to both of their spite against each other.

As for the trek, it was obvious that Fluttershy would not make the trek alone, so it was decided that Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Spike were to be the ones to make the trek up. Twilight and Spike for obvious reasons, being the protege and dragon respectively; Pinkie Pie mainly since Harem.

Time Passing Transition.

The three ponies had saddlebags with supplies while Spike had something he called a "backpack" instead.

"Alright Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Spike! Unlike the Prime Universe that threw physics out the window, the fastest route up the mountain will take at least two days to get up, but if we keep a good pace we'll be there in that time frame," Twilight ratted out.

"Mountain?" Fluttershy quivered.

"The dragon is in that cave at the very top," Twilight matter-of-factly spoke.

Fluttershy was uneasy, and it was evident on her face.

"ALRIGHT EVERYONE! LET'S MOVE OUT!" Twilight boomed.

"But... But...!" Fluttershy hesitated.

All of them exited one by one. Spike stayed back, looking concerned about Fluttershy.

"Are you alright Fluttershy?"

Fluttershy noticed Spike was there.

"Oh! Um..." she bashfully rubbed her front hooves.

"You know, you didn't look alright while Twilight was explaining the situation to the citizens..."

Fluttershy broke.

"Oh Spike! I'm just a pushover aren't I? It's even in my name! Even when I do try to be assertive like when I tried to get the citizens' attention about the dragon, they just mock me!" she buried her head in her hooves.

Spike checked the Season 1 Episode 7 script, found the section detailing what happened before Twilight arrived, and read it.

"I see... Nevertheless Fluttershy, you are a wonderful Pegasus. Who cares what the other citizens think? The seven of us all think you are worth our time," Spike gave Fluttershy a hug, "I mean, let's be honest, being the group that saved Equestria once makes us the cool group don't you think?"

The Pegasus giggled and had no complaints. She returned the hug, albeit in a much more loving manner.

"You know Spike, that's what I like about you. You always know what to say and when," she cooed, "I think that's my cue to join your little Harem that you got there going. So how about it?"

"I'm going to go with yes. There is no good reason for me to reject such a kind and tenderhearted mare like you. It is quite difficult to find any darkness in you," Spike graciously accepted.

"Oh Spike! I'm so happy!" Fluttershy immediately went for the kiss which came as a surprise to Spike.

Nevertheless, Spike enjoyed the kiss that Fluttershy gave.

Minty. Very minty.

The two pulled apart and smiled at each other. It was at this point that Twilight and Pinkie Pie were wondering what was taking the rest of their group so long. The two of them peeked their heads back inside the Golden Oaks Library to see Fluttershy being loving to Spike. Twilight began the inquiry.

"So Fluttershy, I see you have quite the interest in Spike, I take it you want to be part of the Harem?" she began.

Fluttershy, realizing that they were being watched, turned her head, and responded.

"Of course Twilight, Spike is such a good dragon, I would be honored if you would allow me to join."

It was obvious what the answer would be.

"Absolutely Fluttershy. You are one of our close friends," Twilight confirmed.

"Ooo! Fluttershy, you're one of us now!" Pinkie chirped.

The four of them shared a hug centered around Spike before locking up and starting up the mountain. Fluttershy was happy knowing that the four of them were now a tight knit group and that there would be no awkwardness of being a 4th wheel and so smiled contentedly at herself.

Transition to mountain climbing scene.

As they were climbing, a loud rumbling was felt and heard all around the mountain side. A few moments after the rumbling, a huge stink smell came over the entire group. Everyone coughed and gagged.

Pinkie Pie was already wearing a gas mask and had more in her hoof.

"Everyone take one~" Pinkie chirped.

None of them argued and put one on. Afterwards, Pinkie Pie tried to lighten the mood.

"You know, I don't fart stink. I fart party!"

Just then, the sound of a cannon could be heard going off. Out of Pinkie's rear came a whole bunch of confetti directly in Twilight's face.

"I don't know how to feel about this," Twilight gagged.

"Oh Twilight, you silly filly, it's harmless you know~" Pinkie spoke.

All of them laughed, even Fluttershy had a good laugh and was snapped out of all her worry. As they continued climbing up the mountain, they were eventually able to take off the gas masks as the air cleared. They eventually found a nice smaller cave on the mountain side they were climbing up on and decided to set up camp there. Spike started a small campfire in the cave. The four of them relaxed as they watched the sunset together to which Fluttershy was happily enjoying with her drakefriend. They then cooked a good meal on the campfire, good ol' vegetable soup, comfort food. They all pitched in for the cooking and were satisfied with the result.

After eating that hearty meal, they set up camp. As they laid out their bedding and sleeping bags, Spike knew something was up with the setup.

“So… girls, where am I sleeping? I noticed you only packed two sets of bedding,” Spike just had a smirk on his face.

Twilight, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie had sheepish smiles on their faces and were rubbing their front hooves.

“Umm… we all love you so... we wanted to cuddle with you?” Twilight explained for the three of them.

What Twilight didn’t count on was that Fluttershy would be hopping on the Harem train so soon. But in all fairness, she knew what her answer as Alpha Mare would be.

“Fluttershy is the newest one, you can have his cuddles.”

“Oh, I mean… if it isn’t too much of a bother…”

“Come on Fluttershy, we’re all grown mares here, you know I get Spike cuddles all the time.”

“Well… in that case, thank you very much Twilight,” Fluttershy gave a sincere smile.

Fluttershy wrapped her wings and hooves around the little drake as they slid into their sleeping bag.

“Spike, you are quite warm~” was the last thing the Pegasus said before giving Spike a kiss on the lips then dozing off to sleep.

Twilight and Pinkie Pie took the other set of bedding and cuddled up like when they were fillies. Eventually, all were able to get to sleep and it was peaceful that night in the cave of the mountainside.

Transition to the Next Day.

Spike arose in the morning. He was happy with being in Fluttershy's embrace, but there were more important things to do, so he woke Fluttershy up via nose boop.

“Good morning Miss Fluttershy,” Spike cheerfully greeted.

Fluttershy stirred from her sleep, opened her eyes, and was happy to see Spike.

“Oh, good morning Mister Spike, enjoyed the cuddles?” she giggled.

“Of course.”

Fluttershy gave a playful nuzzle to Spike before the two of them got up. Twilight already was awake as she was an early riser.

“Good morning Fluttershy and Spike, I take it your rest was good?” the Unicorn greeted.

“Oh, yes, it was so much better with Spike around,” Fluttershy responded.

Suddenly, a cannon shot could be heard going off. Twilight, Fluttershy, and Spike turned around and saw Pinkie Pie with a sheepish look on her face.

"Aha... must be the soup, girls," Pinkie sheepishly spoke.

"None of us had gas," Twilight matter-of-factly stated.

"Oh."

They enjoyed a good breakfast of cupcakes that Pinkie Pie somehow managed to preserve through the climb to the cave, then packed up everything and continued their climb up the mountain. Reaching the crevice that the dragon was taking his nap, Spike held Fluttershy's hoof to keep her calm to remind her that he was there.

"Ready to go in Fluttershy? We've got a job to do," Spike asked.

Twilight also was to join them in persuading the dragon since Twilight is Alpha Mare. The three of them then went in, Pinkie Pie watching from the exit of the cave. They approached the dragon.

"Mr. Dragon," Twilight tried to begin.

Nothing.

"Excuse me."

Nothing.

"Mr. Dragon."

The dragon stirred.

"Oh, good, you're awake. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Twilight--"

The dragon yawned and sent very stink breath across the trio. Even Spike's eyes were watering from it.

"Augh! Puh! Sparkle, and my friends and I are residents here in Ponyville. We've come here to ask that you find another spot to take your nap. It's just that you seem to be doing an awful lot of snoring, and every time you do you send out a terrible cloud of smoke. *coughs* Ponyville simply can't survive a hundred years in a dark haze. You understand, don't you?"

The dragon saw Spike and saw him as a threat, he snorted loudly which sent the three of them careening out of the cave and knocking over Pinkie Pie. This was enough to cause Fluttershy to snap, no one hurts her dragon or anyone in the Harem for that matter.

"How dare you... How dare you! Listen here, mister. Just because you're big doesn't mean you get to be a bully. You may have huge teeth, and sharp scales, and snore smoke, and breathe fire. But you do not-- I repeat-- You! Do! Not! Hurt! My! Friends! You got that?"

This is going down HARD. The dragon whimpered since it was being yelled at in such a way.

"Well?!"

"But that dragon is a threat," was the dragon's response.

"And I am very sorry about not considering that. But you're bigger than he is, and you should know better. You should also know better than to take a nap where your snoring can become a health hazard to other creatures."

"But I--"

"Don't you 'but I' me, mister. Now what do you have to say for yourself? I said, what do you have to say for yourself?"

The dragon cried, realizing what it did wrong. Fluttershy softened her tone.

"There, there. No need to cry. You're not a bad dragon, you just made a bad decision. Now go pack your things. You just need to find a new place to sleep. That's all."

The dragon obliged and flew off to find a new napping place, leaving behind all the gold and jewels... on second thought the dragon scooped it all up and took it with him causing money to rain down over places in Equestria including Ponyville. Rioting happened. The Apple Sisters were amused and giggled at the nature of the Ponyville residents. Still, the two sisters decided to gather some gems to give to Spike as a thank you for helping Ponyville.

Happy with their success at getting the dragon out, the quartet then made their way back down the mountain, again stopping at the cave for the night, eating, resting, and finishing their journey back down. They were greeted by the Apple Sisters as they trotted/walked into Ponyville.

"Welcome back, Twilight, Spike, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy," Applejack greeted with a tip of her stetson.

"Thank you Applejack, we were able to get the dragon to change sleeping spots all thanks to Fluttershy," Twilight explained.

Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Spike looked around them and noticed two ponies painfully missing from the welcome back.

"Hey, Applejack, Apple Bloom, have you seen Rainbow Dash and Rarity anywhere by any chance?" Twilight continued.

The two sisters simply pointed in one direction. Rainbow Dash and Rarity were delivered tied together by Fluttershy's animals unceremoniously with a loud thump. The two ponies grumbled as they got themselves out of the mess that they themselves got in. After getting up, they noticed Fluttershy and immediately squee'd at her.

"Had fun I see? Got even closer as friends too I presume?" Fluttershy mused with a small giggle along with the rest of the group as the Unicorn and Pegasus blushed.

The Apple Sisters treated Spike to the gems she picked up earlier to which he happily gobbled down.

"So where'd you get these from?" Spike asked.

"Oh Spike, these rained down from when you seven got the dragon to leave, you should have seen the scene down here, " Apple Bloom answered.

All eight of them trotted/walked back to the Golden Oaks Library to debrief and relax while all around them Ponyville residents fought over the rained gold. This debriefing included the Apple Sisters, Rarity and Rainbow Dash finding out about Fluttershy joining the Harem. This brought on mostly congratulatory reactions for Fluttershy due to her being close friends with the three mares. Eventually, all was well in Ponyville.
