Chapter 19: Original S1E21: The Autumn Harem Staycation

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Applejack had received a note from Braeburn, her cousin, requesting help in Appleloosa since the native buffalo herd and the town ponies were having a land dispute. As she and the rest of the Harem were looking at this note while gathered in the Golden Oaks Library, all ten of them had generally similar thoughts including "Seriously, share the land.", "Appleloosa is isolated! Why can't the buffalo go around?", and "Why would you plant an apple orchard in the desert?"

It was at this point they decided that's enough of that one.

"I think Appleloosa and the buffalo need to learn how to share. Since both sides are overly stubborn, I highly doubt we're going to get to them," Applejack matter-of-factly responds.

"Yeah! Seriously, what's so hard about sharing?" Rainbow Dash made a very good point, "I mean, look at Spike, he's doing fine and dandy."

It was at this point Applejack knew exactly what her response to this note would be. With some good input from Pinkie Pie, she made her response concise and simple.

Dear Braeburn,
You've got to share. You've got to care.
Disgruntled, Frustrated, and Patient,

Applejack

Applejack then sent her response on its way through the mail system.

"So... what shall we do now?" Spike asked his Harem.

Well, we completely destroyed the original Episode for one... hold on... we never even just did an Episode for the fun.

"Let's take a break!" Pinkie chirped, filling in for what Twilight wanted to say.

"Yeah Pinkie Pie I agree. It's totally time for a break," Spike matter-of-factly commented.

There was overall agreement from the nine ponies in the room.

"So what are we waiting for? Let's get started!" Rainbow Dash flies out of the door to the library and the rest follow suit and exit.

Applejack was raking up all the leaves that fell around the orchard in Sweet Apple Acres. She had just finished putting them all into a pile when...

"CANNONBALL!" she heard a familiar dragon yell.

Spike and the Cutie Mark Crusaders launched themselves from nearby trees, landing in the pile of leaves and sending them everywhere. Applejack just glared at Spike for giving his Harem members such ideas, but after seeing all the happy faces and giggles that were coming from all of them, she couldn't help but smile at it as well.

Spike was relaxing on the couch in the Golden Oaks Library. All of a sudden, the nine ponies of the Harem surrounded him.

"Oh, hello there Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle, what brings you here today?" he innocently asked with a sheepish smile.

"Hi Spike~" they all cooed lovingly with smiles on their faces.

Spike was feeling a bit unsettled by this.

"You seem to have forgotten something from all of these other Episodes," Twilight explains, still having her smile on her face.

"Um..." Spike started to sweat and spoke uncomfortably, "and what might that be?"

The smiles continued for an awkward pause.

"You forgot our kisses!" Pinkie chirped as all of the Harem ponies including herself closed their eyes to maximize the cuteness of their smiles.

Whew. At least this scene didn't turn creepy.

Spike gave each of his Harem members a kiss on the lips.

Let's see... that's Sweetie Belle, Rarity, Fluttershy. Apple Bloom, Applejack, Rainbow Dash. Lastly, Scootaloo, Pinkie Pie, and my lifelong friend Twilight Sparkle.

All of them smiled with genuine happiness after that.

Braeburn received the note from Applejack. He stared at it for a while. He stared at it some more. His mind was a blank. Sharing wasn't a concept that Appleloosa or the buffalo understood. It was unbelievably complex (to them). His brain smoldered as he read the note repeatedly. He thought the word “no” and then started to trot off. He was immediately pelted with a haybale.

Pinkie Pie was presenting a new Sugarcube Corner product to Twilight and Spike. She was quite eager since this product was inspired by their love. Yep, this yellowish colored elongated pastry was the result.

“So… what exactly is this Pinkie Pie?” Spike poked at said pastry that was on his plate.

“That would be a Twinkie,” she responded.

“It looks… simple…” Twilight commented, knowing that most of Pinkie Pie’s sweets were complex and extravagant.

“Oh silly filly Twilight~ I modeled this thing after us~ Take a bite.”

Both of them did. Both of their eyes went wide with glee as they found that it was stuffed with a white creamy filling.

“Pinkie Pie… we love you so much right now,” Twilight and Spike whispered.

“I know!” Pinkie chirped, “It’s a simple outside yet sweet inside… or if you want, a sweet outside with a simple inside! It will sell millions~!”

“I have no objections to that statement,” Twilight matter-of-factly commented.

The three immediately shared a group hug,

Indeed Pinkie Pie’s statement held true. It’s cheap price and simplistic concept made Sugarcube Corner ridiculously rich, and in turn Pinkie Pie who made sure to give some percentage of her earnings to Twilight and Spike. And that is the story of how Twilight and Pinkie Pie became the richest of the Harem… okay fine… since Twilight and Pinkie Pie were good friends, the wealth was spread among the 10 of them, much to Rarity and Applejack’s happiness.

Oh? There’s still some more of the Episode remaining? Whoops.

The Appleloosa citizens and the buffalo were currently at war. The citizens were fighting the buffalo with apple pies. It was total war until one of the apple pies was sliced in half and fell in between a buffalo and Braeburn. Braeburn took one half of the pie while the buffalo took the other. They toasted and ate. It was then that the concept of sharing computed completely. They agreed to share the land. Braeburn sent a note back to Applejack to confirm that they had solved the problem.

Applejack received the note and read it with the rest of the Harem.

Hey Applejack!
We decided to share the land!

The face-hoof moment was so intense that it shook Ponyville all the way to Canterlot. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna felt the small tremor while having tea. They shrugged, then continued sipping tea.

It was time. Spike and Apple Bloom's discussion with Twilight that happened also in Season 1 Episode 16 was finally going to come true. Spike and Apple Bloom brought the whole Harem to the hill where Apple Bloom confessed and got the Harem ball rolling.

"So Harem ponies, the reason why I brought you here was that this is the place where it started. This was where I confessed to Spike and got everything started. I know it doesn't look like much," Apple Bloom explained, "but... it does have a nice view doesn't it?"

Indeed it was a nice view. Ponyville looked majestic in the sunset. The lone tree provided a nice place to lean back on to relax after a hard day's work.

Apple Bloom explained that she wanted to engrave all their initials/names on the lone tree as well as make this their relaxation place. They all agreed to the idea and settled on the name "Harem Hill" for this special location. Pinkie Pie pulled out a sign from her mane and wrote the name on it and stuck it in the ground nearby to sort of claim the area for the 10 of them.

They then engraved their initials on the tree. Spike engraved his name (not initials) in the center of the overall engraving. Starting from the top above Spike's name going clockwise around, Scootaloo (S.S.), Apple Bloom (A.B.), and Sweetie Belle (S.B.) put their initials on the engraving. Starting above Scootaloo's name a little bit to the left going clockwise around, Twilight Sparkle (T.S.), Pinkie Pie (P.P.), Applejack (A.J.), Rainbow Dash (R.D.), Fluttershy (F.S.), and Rarity (R.B.) engraved their names in such a manner that their names were around that of each pair's respective sibling. (Scootaloo Sparkle belongs to Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie.)

It was quite the symmetrical circular engraving and it looked nice on its place on the tree.

The Harem had planned to camp out this night at Harem Hill since they might as well christen the place with a huge sleepover/camping trip. Oh, speaking about christen, they did christen the place by smashing an year old bottle of the Apple Family's apple cider on the tree, picking year old since that was approximately how long the Harem was going for at that time.

And camp out they did. They made a fire pit as the first addition/decoration to Harem Hill as this was a place for relaxation after all. Since there was no scheduled rainfall for the night, they decided to sleep out under the stars. They told stories around the campfire as they ate their dinner that was cooked by a kettle put above said campfire, cooked s'mores (Applejack and Rarity had no issues), and looked up at the stars, pointing out constellations, one of which was surprisingly of the Harem themselves looking up at the stars which totally wasn't put there for the night by Princess Luna.

As they were staring at the stars, Pinkie Pie couldn't help herself but comment while sitting close to Twilight, her coat brushing against the purple unicorn's.

"Twilight! Twilight! Look at all those sprinkles in the sky!" she shook Twilight with one of her hooves.

Twilight just gave a small light hearted chuckle and a smile.

"No Pinkie, those are stars, one of the main wonders that Luna watches over," was her quiet, but cheerful response.

After all of this, they laid out all their sleeping bags, 7 in total, all around the hill. Spike had propped himself up right under the engraved tree. The Cutie Mark Crusaders each shared and cuddled up with their respective sister. They all then drifted off to sleep in peace.

Spike had one last thought before he dozed off to the land of dreams.

This staycation was totally worth it.

End Theme with Credits.

Coco Pommel was sleeping at her place in Manehatten... it was then that she had a nightmare of said city being flooded and destruction of the city by a "god of chaos". The only comforting thing she remembered from the nightmare before she shot wide awake was a light purple and green dragon who was determined to defeat said "god of chaos", her roll of rainbow thread, and some faint voices of 6 different mares.

Oh dear... that felt so realistic. Can such destruction happen to a city this huge? Who was that dragon though... (This is Coco Pommel's color, not to be confused with Rainbow Dash's.)

She looked at the roll of rainbow thread on her nightstand.

What is the importance of this rainbow thread anyways?

She sat up in her bed and thought about the nightmare for a while since none of her dreams/nightmares were this realistic. Eventually, she managed to get back to sleep.

Later on a different day, she checked her mail and found that she was given an invitation to the Grand Galloping Gala. Understandably she was quite excited to go. She grabbed her treasured rainbow thread and went off to go start preparing her dress since she should have good appearance at the Gala after all, being an intern and such.
