Rarity literally skids into the Ponyville Spa, not liking to be later than "fashionably late" for her spa date with Fluttershy.

"So sorry for being late for our spa date, Fluttershy," Rarity began.

She then spoke to Lotus Blossom, the blue coat and pink maned spa pony who was at the receptionist's desk.

"The Usual please!" Rarity requested.

Lotus Blossom had a big smile on her face as she zipped off to go get the regular customers' stuff all set up.

Understandably Rarity would be the type to go over the top with her spa treatment. As they went along the multiple components that go into their usual spa treatment, it can be physically seen that Rarity was wearing a much more fancy bathrobe. The pair had treatments like the sauna, mud masks, lying down on the mats to get a horn filing (well... Aloe assumed and squee'd in embarrassment when she realized Fluttershy doesn't have a horn), massages to which the author wished he had, mud baths, hoof baths, and repeat.

During this time, Rarity asked if Fluttershy could model some clothes for her... well more like begged as this photoshoot was with a famous fashion photographer, Photo Finish. Fluttershy agreed to it since she was being a good friend as well.

Theme.

Pinkie Pie was standing in the white space again. She seemed to be pondering something very deep. Ever since she started dating Twilight, she learned about science and all that stuff. It was then that Twilight and Spike arrived in the white space as well to find out what said marefriend was doing.

"Hello Pinkie Pie, you seem to be very deep in thought," Spike greeted.

Pinkie Pie was still having a face of concentration.

"Umm... Pinkie Pie?" Twilight tries now to get Pinkie Pie's attention.

Still nothing. Spike then tries to poke Pinkie Pie which is enough to get her attention.

"Oh hi Twilight! Hi Spike! I was just here wondering if Spike is a color," Pinkie chirped.

Twilight and Spike understandably blinked at Pinkie Pie a few times trying to process that statement.

"Um, why would you be curious about that? I'm right here," Spike commented, trying not to let the derp-ness of his words get to him.

"Well Spike, you see the title of this Episode?" as she points to the top of this page, "it says that you aren't a color. I'm not so sure if that's true though considering we have crayon colors like macaroni and cheese as well as cerulean along with purple's mountain majesty. Does the author know what he's doing?"

Yes I know what I’m doing.

"Oh," Pinkie replies, "but still, I would like to ponder this in the background of the Episode... not that you have to write this in of course."

Be my guest.

"Yay!" Pinkie chirps.

"Well that was a word from the author, now lets see how Fluttershy and Rarity got together shall we?" Twilight finishes off.

"Hold on! I feel something coming on!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed.

Her look of concentration intensified until...

A cannon shot could be heard and confetti flew out of Pinkie Pie's flank.

"Aww! Darn it!" Pinkie pouted.

Twilight just patted Pinkie Pie on the back.

"There there, no need to think about it too hard," Twilight reassured.

There was a small pause.

"Well I think it's about time we get back into the Episode don't you think?" Spike reassured.

"Sure thing Spike!" Twilight and Pinkie Pie responded with a unison chirp.

Twilight and Pinkie Pie then both gave Spike a nuzzle.

Since they were to be in the next scene, Twilight, Pinkie Pie, and Spike all exited the white space through a door that lead into a scene at the Carousel Boutique where Fluttershy was currently being set up for a photo shoot with Rarity. Of course as any pony would probably react, Rarity turned around after fixing something on Fluttershy's outfit and yelped a bit at the sudden appearance of the three.

"Oh hello darlings, come to check up on us?" Rarity inquires, somehow managing to keep her sanity from that moment.

"Sure did," Spike answers for the three of them.

Photo Finish arrived and the modeling went under way. Fluttershy was unsure of what kind of poses to do and had uncertainty plastered all over her face. Rarity reassured Fluttershy by coming up with many different confident poses, to which she giggled and copied. Unfortunately, Photo Finish wasn't having any of that which did sadden Rarity a bit that none of the poses were working. The pictures ended up showing Fluttershy's... well... shyness. Twilight, Spike and Pinkie Pie were understandably a bit concerned about how few photos were taken, and of the fact that it was of Fluttershy's shyness and not of the totally great poses that Rarity suggested.

Photo Finish then announced that she has found the next fashion star in Equestria and scheduled another photo shoot with Fluttershy and Rarity at the park for tomorrow. This of course got the two of them excited that Rarity's dream was to come true as the two hugged and giggled like... fillies. It was at this point that Sweetie Belle went down from her room to see what all the excited giggling was all about. She was a little bit confused at first, but after an explanation from Spike, she understood and was happy for them also.

Transition to Next Day.

It was time for the photo shoot at the park. Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Spike and Sweetie Belle had decided to let them have their "alone time" and went along to eat lunch somewhere and stay at Sugarcube Corner getting into all kinds of baking antics while waiting for them to finish. Scootaloo was dragged into it since she lived with Twilight, not that she was complaining about it or anything of that sort. Fluttershy was in another outfit that Rarity designed, to which Photo Finish disapproved. It was at this photo shoot that it was found that Fluttershy was the star that Photo Finish was talking about. Although Fluttershy was quite uncertain about taking this opportunity, Rarity urged her on saying that it was a lifetime opportunity even if she was hoping it was herself instead. Fluttershy reluctantly agreed since she knew how Rarity was, even though she was more concerned for her if anything, crush and all.

It was at this point that Rarity knew she had to leave since there was nothing left for her to do there. She had a downtrodden look on her face as she did so, trying not to let the situation get the best of her. Fluttershy looked over her shoulder, still not sure about doing this.

Transition to Carousel Boutique.

Since Rarity didn't come to pick up Sweetie Belle from Sugarcube Corner that day, this caused yet even more concern, but this time stemming from Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Scootaloo and Spike. So, the four of them took Sweetie Belle back to the Carousel Boutique themselves. It was there that when they arrived, they saw Rarity sewing a black cloak with a unhappy expression adorning her face. Rarity turned around from the sound of the door opening. When she saw Sweetie Belle, she immediately panicked.

"Oh! I'm so sorry for forgetting to pick you up Sweetie Belle!" Rarity started while giving her sister a hug.

"It's alright Rarity, you know Twilight and company took care of me well," Sweetie Belle reassured with a smile.

"So... Rarity, how did the next photo shoot go?" Twilight inquired, feeling that this situation had something to do with that.

"Well..." Rarity sighed and resumed her downtrodden look, "in simplest words, it didn't. Photo Finish wanted to work with Fluttershy, not me."

This of course computed in all the other ponies'/dragon's heads quite quickly.

"So is there anything we can do?" Spike inquired.

"Not really, I just would like to be alone for now," Rarity finished.

Leave her alone they did. One does not usually barge in on somepony else's business. Sweetie Belle went to her room. Twilight, Spike and Scootaloo went back to the Golden Oaks Library. Pinkie Pie returned to her spot at Sugarcube Corner.

Transition to Next Scene.

Over time, since the park photo shoot with Fluttershy was a success, Fluttershy ended up becoming popular. This was something Fluttershy never wanted, but at every photo shoot she was scheduled at, she just kept one... two thoughts in her head.

I hate this so much! I don't have time to enjoy the simpler things in life. Fame or the Harem, the choice is so clear.

"Hate" was definitely a fitting term. But... nevertheless she did it since she "had to".

It got to the point that Fluttershy's face was plastered practically everywhere in advertisements and in magazines. Rarity on the other hoof, was cast aside, business at the Carousel Boutique at an all time low. In fact, it seemed as if ponies forgot who Rarity was which was a real slap in the face. Rarity was thinking something was up when at one point Fluttershy barged into the Carousel Boutique, begging to be hidden, but then was taken back by Photo Finish who needed another photo shoot. Both of their lives have pretty much been ruined at this point.

Transition to the Ponyville Spa.

Rarity was soaking in the spa's bath, having waited a longer than usual for Fluttershy to arrive for their spa date. After sensing that she was waiting too long, she decided she needed to confide in someone about her problems since this situation was getting too uncomfortable for her to keep silent about it. Of course who else but the pony who's studying friendship, Twilight Sparkle! Of course, this will have to be sworn to secrecy as this is quite sensitive info... sort of, so Pinkie Pie will be the witness with her ever so popular Pinkie (Pie) Promise. How that pink pony functioned with her Pinkie Sense, Alarm, and Promise was quite intriguing in itself.

Funny enough though, the two ponies that she was looking for just happened to trot into the spa, looking for a good relaxing time. Well... Pinkie Pie was more so looking for new "weird places to appear" to add to the Fourth Wall repertoire... not that the rest of the Harem was aware of it... yet. Twilight just wanted a nice soak in the bath. Spike was spending time with the Cutie Mark Crusaders and getting caught up in their antics... poor thing.

Twilight saw Rarity soaking in the bath and went to greet her while Pinkie Pie zipped off in the spa to do... Pinkie Pie stuff.

"Hello Rarity," Twilight greeted.

"Oh Twilight! Just the pony I need to see! I think it's about time I spoke to a pony about this situation," Rarity gratefully responded.

Twilight got into the bath as well.

"So Rarity, what seems to be the problem?"

"It's Fluttershy! I mean I know I should be happy for her and all, but she's now a great star! I just wish that star would burn out!”

"Whoa there, Rarity. That's no way to be talking about her now is it?"

"I know... but still! I'm just... jealous! Oh please Twilight, don't tell Fluttershy about this."

"You have my word. After all, losing a friend's trust is the fastest way to lose them--"

"FOREVER!" Pinkie Pie burst out of a bowl of sponges near the bath, startling Twilight.

Twilight, not having any of it, used her magic and dragged Pinkie Pie into the bath with her.

"Yeah Pinkie Pie, I got the memo, you taught me remember?" Twilight continued while giving her an amused look as she recovered from being dumped into the bath unceremoniously.

All Pinkie Pie could respond with was with a glare that didn't last long since the two mares then burst into laughs. After settling down and noticing Rarity still watching them, Twilight finished off her statement.

"Oh, sorry Rarity. But you know you can trust us. We Pinkie Promise," Twilight spoke with a smile.

"Absolutely positively!" Pinkie chirped.

Twilight and Pinkie Pie went through the motions of the Pinkie Promise.

Rarity, having sensed the inducing awkwardness of the Twilight/Pinkie couple being there and herself essentially being a third wheel, decided to make her leave.

"Well you two, I'll leave you two your... 'date'. Ta ta! Just since Fluttershy's famous doesn't mean I can't be fabulous~" Rarity got out of the bathtub bid farewell to the bathing couple then putting on a fancy gown.

After Rarity left, Fluttershy made a similar skid into the spa as Rarity did in the beginning of the Episode, then pouted since she actually missed one of her spa dates with Rarity.

No no no! I actually missed it!

"UGH! I'm so frustrated I could just scream!" Fluttershy blared out.

She did attempt to scream alright, well... she inhaled super deeply and then let out a barely audible scream.

"Can we help you?" Twilight addressed to Fluttershy.

This startled the Pegasus who only now looked up to notice the Twinkie couple bathing.

"Oh! Twilight! Pinkie Pie! Didn't see you there! I need to talk to you two!" Fluttershy greeted.

"Let me guess, you don't like modeling... correction, hate it but did it for Rarity, and the fashion industry probably likes you for being you? Oh yeah, and we already Pinkie Promise not to tell," Twilight guessed in her marefriend's quick tone.

Twilight and Pinkie Pie went through the motions of the Pinkie Promise. Fluttershy blinked twice then computed.

"Yes."

After Twilight and Pinkie Pie whispered back and forth and deciding what to say, Pinkie Pie spoke up.

"Well... isn't it obvious? What if you didn't act like you?" Pinkie did one of the uncharacteristically large smiles that she had.

"Um... but I am me and it's kind of hard to not be me when I am me."

"Just leave it to me!" Twilight reassured.

Transition to Another Fashion Show.

Twilight and Pinkie Pie did do that plan to make Fluttershy not be herself alright. They were backstage hiding. Spike was in the audience since it was only proper to be there for a marefriend. When Fluttershy trotted out onto that runway, Twilight used her magic and Pinkie Pie's suggestions which she whispered into her ear to make Fluttershy act weird... well at least in the eyes of the fashion ponies. When they thought the plan had worked since of the sounds of disgust they were hearing from beyond the curtain, Rarity had shown up to the fashion show while wearing one of her good outfits. When Rarity had seen the bad act that Fluttershy was pulling off, she immediately stepped in and started cheering on Fluttershy. Since Rarity was a pony with impeccable fashion sense, all the other fashion ponies followed suit and praised Fluttershy, thus increasing her fame even more.

It was at this point Rarity had a thought to herself.

I shouldn't be deceiving myself. I know how I feel about this. It's about time that me and Fluttershy had this talk.

Have a talk they did. After the fashion show, Fluttershy was chatting with Twilight, Pinkie Pie and Spike about how she is now even more famous than before since of that act. Rarity had trotted in to check up on Fluttershy.

"Fluttershy! Are you doing alright?" Rarity greeted.

"Doing great! I'm a super famous fashion model. Why shouldn't I be great?" Fluttershy lied.

Twilight was about to say something, but Pinkie Pie shoved her hoof into Twilight's mouth to silence her.

"Let them talk it out," Pinkie whispered to Twilight with a small glare.

Twilight obliged and Pinkie Pie removed her hoof.

"Out there on the runway, everyone was booing you, it was awful... the worst thing was that I wanted them to," Rarity continued.

"You did?" this was news to Fluttershy.

"Ohhh, I'm jealous! I wanted the attention, but it was going to you. I even started wishing bad things on you so that your career would be over. But when it happened like over there, all I thought was how could I be thinking such things for something you love to do so much?"

"Love? Oh, Rarity... Truth is, I don't like... make that hate being a model."

"What?"

"Yes, you heard me Rarity. More than anything I hate it."

"So... why did you continue doing it?"

"I was afraid that if I quit, you'd be mad that I wasted an opportunity you gave me."

"And here I was thinking you'd say I was a terrible friend for being jealous."

"Never!"

"All this time!"

"If we had just told each other the truth."

"I promise never to keep my feelings in secret again."

"Me too."

Fluttershy and Rarity went through the motions of the Pinkie Promise.

"Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!" the two of them giggled after promising.

The four of them and Spike then went to the spa after that. Apparently Twilight wanted Spike to write a note to Princess Celestia at this point. Spike obliged understandably.

Spike sent the letter then went off to the massage tables as usual to let off some tension. Rarity and Fluttershy were relaxing in the baths. Twilight was getting her horn filed. Pinkie Pie was... enjoying her new found spot in the bowl of sponges. It had been an interesting couple of days indeed.

End Theme with Credits.

Pinkie Pie was back in the white space with a smile on her face. Twilight and Spike walked/trotted up to her.

"You look like you have come to a conclusion," Spike greeted.

"Why yes I have!" Pinkie smiled.

"So, would you like to present your conclusion to 'Is Spike a Color?'?" Twilight inquired, bracing herself for the derp.

"Well, I have concluded that Spike may or may not be a color depending on whether someone named a color Spike," Pinkie matter-of-factly concluded.

Huh. That actually makes a lot of sense. Not even a single trace of derp.

"That's quite interesting, do you think someone will make the color Spike anytime soon?" Twilight questioned.

"You never know~" Pinkie chirped.

After a small awkward pause, Spike spoke.

"Well..." Spike turned to face the camera, "that's all for this Episode! See you in Episode 21."

Zoom out of the scene with Spike waving at the camera while Pinkie Pie and Twilight discuss the newest theory of "The Color Spike".
