Sunset Shimmer Loyalty Part A: Killing who!?

Spike arrived into the Battery room, seeing Sunset Shimmer behind some controls, pressing all sorts of buttons to calm the place down as lights flashed everywhere and loud blaring was heard inside.

"Sorry!" she repeated herself "sorry-sorry-sorry!" The place's order was restored and she took a deep breath, turning around and wiped some sweat from her forehead. "Oh! Commander! Need me for something?"

"Do you have a minute?" Spike asked

"Oh! Everything's fine! Just... doing some calculations."

"Are you sure? You sound distressed and fired a missile into space. Who knows where it'll hit." She sighed in defeat and leaned against the other side of the wall.

"Alright. There's... something on my mind that I can't get out." Spike leaned on the metal bars next to the controls.

"Tell me about it; I'm here to help."

"Alright... I... never told you about what happened on Manehatten, didn't I?"

"You haven't."

"Yeah. I told you Twilight released me from that simulation, but that was about it. See, the truth is, Twilight was really pissed off at what Sombra did and, almost immediately she released me from the simulation. She actually wanted me to kill Sombra, as an act of revenge, and in return, not only would I be free, but I'd have a new life as a hero."

"And you had to do that alone?"

"No, actually. I was able to tell her that I needed help on this, and she agreed on it."

"So you had other soldiers following you?"

"No. It was her friends, but from the simulation. Their data and personalities were put inside their own mech, but also had the addition of combat that'd fit their personalities."

"Huh. So, in a way, you were like me in a commanding role?"

"You could say that. The reason why we were in Manehatten was to train ourselves and perhaps get paid for saving innocent lives. Of course, I was the one spending the money, as our friends didn't need that much, but it was pretty good, if you ask me."

"Well what happened after that? How'd you end up with three mercenary groups after you?" Sunset got up and began to walk around the room in anger

"That's what I need help with. She took their lives away! She backstabbed us! She owes me her life, damn bitch!"

"Who!?"

"Twilight Sparkle." Had Spike drank something, he'd spewed it out, or if he were eating something, he'd choke on it.

"WHAT!?" Sunset realized what she said

"No! No, not the Twilight Sparkle we know! It's another Twilight Sparkle."

"Another one?"

"Yeah. Long story short, this Twilight was interested in our world and doesn't believe that she's a program at all, but a living thing. She was my second in command for the squad I lead, but she backstabbed me and had everyone killed!"

"What are we going to do?" She walked to the computer and turned it on.

"Princess Celestia is going to be attending a local charity for Canterlot's orphans. My Twilight will most likely be there."

"Why do you say that?"

"She has an advance replication program where, upon killing someone, she gains their abilities and power. In the simulation, it knocked us out, but here, she can kill anyone with it. She's a damn parasite growing in power and we need to stop her!"

"How will we know her?"

"...We don't, but I know someone who can. He's called Fade, and he has a specialty for making someone disappear. I've arranged a meeting for him in Canterlot's lower Entertainment district, in an alleyway. Thanks, Spike. I... I appreciate you taking the time to help me."

"Anything to help my crew, especially my friends."

Spike, Sunset Shimmer, and Sweetie Belle all landed on Canterlot's surface in the lower entertainment district. Sweetie Belle came along because, though the Doctor could, he was busy ridding himself from Radiation on Ariel, and Sweetie Belle has her knowledge of hacking robotics. The lower entertainment district was what one expected: dirty, filled with drunks, fights, and a place where one could get a prostitute. There was one alleyway as they could tell, and they entered it; inside, a small man with two behemoths waited for them in what looked liked an outside bar.

"Fade?" Spike asked "You're not quite how I imagined you."

"Looks can be deceiving." He replied with a nasal sounding voice "So, which one of you wants to disappear?"

"I'd rather see you make someone reappear." Sunset answered

"Sorry, that's not the service we provide."

"Make an exception," All three pulled out a pistol "just this once."

"Damn it! Quick! Shoot-" Spike and his allies shot the two behemoths down, making them fall to the floor around the man.

"Too slow." Spike commented

"...Why do I even bother?"

"We need to look for a client of yours. I suggest you cooperate."

"Wait! I'm not Fade! I just work for him... sorta."

"I knew it." Sunset walked to the man.

"Well then you'd like to tell us where to find him."

"Yes!" he replied "Of course! He's in the factory district, works out the old prefab foundry."

"I know that place."

"He's got a lot of Mercs there, Wizards. Fade believes they're protecting him."

"Him?"

"What do the Wizards have to do with this?" Spike asked

"They use his services to infiltrate businesses and various organizations in Canterlot." He answered

"Bastard!" Sunset commented "No wonder not a lot of people can open businesses here from what I've read. We need to find Fade before we can get to Mecha Sparkle."

"Mecha Sparkle?" Spike asked, holding in his laugh.

"Just saying 'Twilight Sparkle' will make it sound like we're attempting a political assassin."

"Fair enough. Let's give Fade a visit."

"We'll need to get to the transit station. I can get us to him from there."

"So... I can go?" the man asked

"Sure, but if we don't find Fade, we're coming for you."

"Oh... good." He walked away in shame.

They landed in the factory district, just out of the old prefab foundry. As soon as they got out of their vehicle, some Wizards escorting a lone male Vampire. Sunset gasped as the Vampire turned around

"What are you three here for!?" One of the Wizards asked

"We're here to see Fade." Sunset answered, now sounding pissed off

"...Sunset!?" Fade asked in a grizzly voice

"I'm glad to see someone remembers me."

"Stop them!" All three began to fire at the Wizards heading for them as Fade ran away.

"Get your ass back over here!!!" Sunset's aura glowed and she pushed the merc out of the way, running after Fade. Both Spike and Sweetie Belle ran after her, shooting at all of the other mercs and mechs after them. As soon as they got in a place to took away any harm, Spike had a few questions about Fade.

They arrived in a room with a door that closed behind them and was sealed with bulletproof glass.

"Before we go," Spike spoke to Sunset "you know this Fade?"

"Yeah," Sunset answered "see, back then, he was my only friend. Unlike now, I won't lie, I was a bitch around my peers, and Fade was my only friend, for he was a douchebag among our peers. Together, we'd cause a lot of property damage, not even caring about the consequences, even when I was accepted into Celestia's school for gifted Mages. That changed when I tried to take the throne for myself."

"What happened?"

"...You saw. Celestia defeated me and had me locked in that simulation. Fade... He was there, but he ran away, disappeared from the systems from what I've seen. Fuck... looking back now, I thought we were something better than a team. I thought... never mind."

"You two would be together?"

"... As this generation's Bonnie and Clyde. Yeah, but as you heard... I had something with that world's Flash, and it didn't work out. ... if Fade doesn't cooperate, I'm going to crush his lungs in my aura!"

"You seem to be getting tense, Sunset."

"Fade knows where Mecha-Sparkle is at! We must get to her before she gets to Celestia!"

"...What do you think he's got in there?"

"I'm not quite sure. Looks like an industrial complex... could be anything, even more damn Wizards."

"I wouldn't be surprised. But do you still plan to kill Mecha-Sparkle?"

"That's the plan. It's going to be quick and painless, not like what her and my friends went through."

"Sunset... do you really think killing her will make things right?"

"I have to do this! I don't expect you to understand, but don't stop me. I'll pull the trigger and live with the consequences, all I'm asking is for your help to find her."

"Well... there's only one way to find out."

"I'm right behind you." She pushed the glass out of the way and they charged into the industrial complex. More mercs, as well as two heavy mechs, came out and fired at them. They arrived to the very top room, where Fade was at, observing them below. Spike and Sweetie Belle took one door while Sunset took the other. Spike & Sweetie entered, watching Fade run to the other door.

"Close!" He taunted "But not close en-" he turned to stop as the door opened and Sunset came in, delivering a right hook across his face. She grabbed him and slammed him against the wall.

"Remember me, Fade?"

"Sunset! What a... nice surprise! We can work this out! You're still not angry about what happened those years ago?"

"Other than being trapped in a simulation where everyone looks like a slightly better version of lost character from the show Doug? Nah, I've gotten over that."

"Well... what do you need?"

"I'm looking for someone."

"I guess we both have something the other wants." She punched him in the crotch, making him fall and wheeze.

"We're not here to ask favors." Spike spoke, walking next to sunset's side. Fade got up, though whimpering.

"Y-you don't say."

"You helped a friend of mine disappear." Sunset added "I need to find her."

"I'm gonna need more information than that."

"She calls herself 'Twilight'. Android, came from-"

"I know who she is, and I'm not saying shit!"

"Fade," Spike said in annoyance "this doesn't have to be hard."

"Fuck you! I don't give information about my clients! It's bad business." Sunset punched him in the gut, making him fall.

"Do you know what else is bad for business?" she asked, pressing her right foot on his neck, making Fade aquirm. "A broken neck!"

"Alright! Alright! Get off me!" Sunset raided her foot and allowed Fade to get up. He coughed, but spoke. "Look, She has the face of princess Twilight."

"We know that." Spike replied

"She'll be wearing a disguise. Here, take this." He handed Sunset a scope, to which she took. "It's an X-ray device. Very powerful. You'll find her in the crowd; just find a robot with wires. So, if our buisiness is done, I'll be going-" Sunset grabbed him by the arm.

"I don't think so!" she growled "You're a criminal!"

"So! We did messed up stuff together!"

"Yes, we did, but I've changed."

"This sin't your style, Sunset!"

"I know, but I'm liking it much better." She raised a pistol to his head.

Arrest him

Let him run.

Kill him.
