Chapter 26: Diamond Tiara Loyalty Part B: She needs help
Previous Chapter Next Chapter"Diamond!" Spike yelled, pulling Diamond's pistol away from her "Wait! She's your friend!"
"She WAS my friend," Diamond replied "now she's a waste of life!"
"She needs help; she may have fallen on hard times and given up on her path that she set out on to take an easy and more destructive path, but all she needs is guidance with her best friend to show her the path she once took to get out of this, and to remind her of who she really is. Diamond I believe in you to make this the right choice because I know you're a better person now than before."
"P-Please," Silver whimpered "I-I'm your best friend! Do... do you remember when we first meet? Back when your father ran 'Barnyard Bargains'?"
"...I do." Diamond replied "Our fathers were bust discussing with each other about business and trade. We... we were at least eight years old." Silver slowly stood right up
"And remember who was there for your birthday? After you sent those invitations out to everyone, no one came because they didn't know you?"
"Yeah... you... you got me my favorite dress." Silver slowly walked to Diamond
"And do you remember our old dance move? The thing we made for that birthday?" Diamond teared up.
"I do. I believe it was something like Bump,"
"bump," Silver spoon joined, doing the dance moves with her "sugarlump, rump!" Diamond Tiara teared faster and sniffed.
"And do you remember?" Silver asked again "After all those times together, when you were down, when the maids & butlers were too busy to sit down and talk to you, do remember who was there with you? The only one who was with you, for all those years, even waiting with you before you left?" Diamond couldn't contain it anymore.
"YOU!!!" Diamond took in Silver Spoon in a deep hug, crying hard from the memories. Silver Spoon cried herself, embracing her friend's hug and hugged right back "What was I thinking!? You're my best friend! Of course I'll help you!!! I don't give a damn what my father says, I'll spend every dime on you!!!"
"Thank you!!! Thank you, Diamond!!!" Both Spike and Sweetie Belle watched from the side. Sweetie teared up a bit.
"I never thought I'd be crying for those two." Sweetie Belle commented, turning around "Gamóto mou!"
"It's alright," Spike replied "People change, but there are things that shouldn't change at all. Their friendship is that one."
Spike and Sweetie Belle sat in outside Donut Joe's bakery. While Donut Joe himself has aged, looking like he's retired, his son, Donut Joe Jr., has taken over the place and added his own strange, yet openly accepted twist while respecting the original. Inside, not only did Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon catch up with each other, but they were on the phone with Filthy Rich himself, as Diamond Tiara knew Silver Spoon was smarter and could be a great addition to FIST, just as long as she was rehabilitated from her drug use. Sweetie Belle and Spike enjoyed their donuts (something they hadn't had in years), and chatted with each other about Sweetie Belle & Button Mash's relationship. It was complicated. The door to the Donut shop opened and the two came out, both with smiles on their faces and hugged each other again.
"I wish I could come with you." Silver Spoon spoke
"I wish you could as well," Diamond replied "but I don't want you hurt."
"...Will you come back?"
"I'll do my best. Remember, they'll pick you up tomorrow. Head to the coordinates and rest for today, order what you want in the hotel, but no drugs! Work hard over there, join the rehabilitation group, and prove my father that you won't be a burden."
"Yes! For you! Thank you so much!"
"If you do drugs, I'm going to slap the shit out of you!"
"And you won't!" They both laughed before finishing with another hug. They both walked back before turning around, heading to their areas. Diamond Tiara had more tears falling.
"Let's go."
"Is there anything you want to talk about?" Spike asked
"We'll talk back on the ship. I... I need to get away from this place." Spike nodded and everyone went back to the Celestia.
Inside the Celestia, Spike walked into Diamond Tiara's room, seeing her looking out the window, but also looking down at her tiara.
"Diamond Tiara?" Spike asked. She turned to him.
"Oh, Hello Spike." She took her seat near the window, looking outside as she held the tiara in her hands. Spike sat down next to her.
"Is there something wrong?"
"Oh no. In fact, I'm actually... happy. I was about to kill my only friend, but you told me otherwise."
"So you're not mad that she faked her kidnapping?"
"Oh I was, but considering we killed a bunch of Shadowbolts and made her vanish from their tracks, I feel glad from that."
"I never took you as the forgiving type."
"I'm never that type, but for Silver Spoon... she was my only friend. Everyone ignored me, so I became the bitch back in Ponyville, all except for Silver Spoon, who actually listened and liked me. I... I really hate it knowing that, though she was guilty like me, she lost her innocence as soon as her parents abandoned her."
"Guess it was a sink or swim thing?"
"...No, it wasn't."
"Will you talk to her again?"
"...I honestly don't know. For once, I'm uncertain if I'll make it out or not, and if I did, I have no plans afterwards. I'll deal with it after the mission, but for now, I have to stay focused and do my part to help the team."
"And how are you doing that?"
"Easy: for the Celestia, Silver gave me a code that will get rid of all junk e-mails easily, meaning the Celestia will now run easier with a lack of E-Mails in it's systems. For the crew, I figured I'll do something I've never thought of doing."
"And what's that? Being nice?"
"You could say that; it's constructive criticism. Everyone needs to do their part and I'll help them know what to do & how to do it without any lives lost."
"Now that sounds hard for you."
"It will be, but... I guess you need to be out of your comfort zone to complete something, especially with other people."
"...you never told me what you two discussed."
"We caught up each other. She's still into the stuff we enjoyed as kids, such as jewelry, but also has new hobbies, minus the drugs, of course. Turns out, she tried opening her own antique shop, something she's always wanted to do but never told me. I asked her why she never told me that before."
"And what was her answer?"
"...'I've always enjoyed the Apples home, especially Granny Smith's kitchen.'" Spike chuckled and stood right up.
"Let me know if you need anything else." She took a deep breath.
"I got everything done here. And... I never wanted to admit it, but... might I say, you really are dashing looking." Spike noticeably blushed.
"Uh... thanks."
"It's really hard to imagine myself following a Draco Commander. I would've thought it'd be a brute like Garble, but you... you're something else, and that's better. You're small looking, but cute, strong, durable, and... fast" Spike backed up, his cheeks blushing brighter.
"Are... you suggesting something?"
"Hm... maybe I am. When it comes down, before we head to the final fight, my door is unlocked for you, Commander." She pressed a button and a door opened behind her desk, revealing a bed. Spike's face turned pure red and he ran out, feeling weird in his pants area. Diamond laughed as she placed the tiara onto her head. "Hm, I'll keep this on, though."
