Good morning/afternoon/evening/night readers, hope you have enjoyed it so far, by the way, notice how using pure darkness is what changes him into a demon, so what would happen if he uses pure light, I’ve already got a slight idea, but it needs some fine tuning. Anyway, on with the chapter!

Chapter 9

-_One week after last chapter, Lost Woods_-

A dreamless sleep, floating in your own mind without even a thought as to what it is, other than the knowledge that it never ends, even if you wake up. This is how my sleep had been for few days since I found Shade and Aqua about a week before. They had proven to be invaluable allies, and quite good at using their powers, so I know that they aren’t who the wisp was talking about, after confirming this, I told them about it, as well as what I looked like when I’m in my dark form. My hair had to be cut almost once a day to keep it from touching the ground, as it was growing faster and faster as the days went by, on day 4 we decided to use the hair that had survived it to make into a whip, as it was only able to be cut by my dark form fingernails, I decided it was a good idea to have some weapons that aren’t just energy, which is a point we all agreed on.

Our roles in the group had spread out as such: I was the hunter, and the cook, with some help from shade as apparently she was studying at a cooking school in France when she was sent here, so she knew quite a bit about edible plants and spices that could be found in the area. I also was the travel expert. Aqua was in charge of the water supply, and guarding the cave whenever I was out or asleep. Shade’s jobs were the following, if I was out hunting, and something important happened, she was to let me know by sending a large cloud of smoke into the air in a spiral. She also had to find edible herbs and other plants for us to eat.

Due to our powers, we had no reason to make fires, as I could warm anything with my light, or go on runs to the rivers or lakes in the forest thanks to Aqua’s power, which almost always had horrible creatures sitting there, waiting for some stupid animal to walk under them. Also, thanks to the animals that had inhabited the cave upon our arrival being covered in meat and almost no fat, we rarely had to go for much food, other than the plants that are required for survival.

I had been practicing to use my light powers most of the time, and also searching for the other two humans; I never told Aqua and Shade much about it, only that I was ordered by the being that brought me, and therefore them, to this world to find the four humans that had crossed by mistake. If I told them about them accidentally awakening an elder god of chaos, they would likely freak out. If that happened.

So anyway, on this particular day, after I was done practicing with my powers, I felt a bit odd, and everything looked a little brighter than it normally was, yes we were in a world based off a cartoon for little girls, but even for that it seemed bright, I ran to the nearest body of water, a lake, and splashed some cold water on my face, when I saw my reflection, I couldn’t believe it.

I had another form! My skin was pale, but not quite white, my hair had turned a sky blue, my eyes were glowing white, my feet were normal as far as I could tell. I also had large white bird wings. I assumed this was from using just the light, and decided to see what my new form could do.

As I focused on the light, I felt sudden bursts of pain throughout my entire body, and a bright light secreted from the pores, turning into crackling electricity upon contact with the air, still a brilliant white.

I focused this “lightning” into my arm, and tried to do what I had seen done in the InFamous games, I tried to make a electric grenade. I failed and it exploded instantly, so I instead tried just shooting small bolts of lightning at a nearby tree, it left a hole roughly the size of my fist into the tree I began trying tricks, like making them ark, this did not work either, and they just went in an unpredictable direction when they did turn. I decided I would work on this another time, and tried a few other things, including shooting volts of light from my eyes, which led to a bit of blood coming from my eyes, but I personally think it was worth it. I had an eye beam! This got me thinking about what else along those lines I could do, I held up both my hands, and began to test different amounts of light, and how much I could channel at a time, this led to me being propelled at a very high speed through the air, and oddly enough, out of the woods I called home.

I quickly turned myself around and opened my wings, soaring upwards, I then crashed into a rather confused looking bird, which flew off squawking in a distressed tone. I ignored this bird and continued over the lush green fields of the world, and eventually decided to land to catch my breath in a nearby tree. At the last second I recognized it as a maple tree and curved up, and landed a few feet away from it, as I had no plans for being covered in the sweet sap. I made a mental note of the location in case I ever wanted some decent syrup.

It took me a few seconds after nearly hitting the tree to realize that I had no control over where I was going, and that my body was moving on its own. I could have blamed it on that explosion making me fly on instinct, but that’s a pathetic excuse. I then began to wonder why what I saw was going a little red, I couldn’t hear anything from around me, and everything was moving too fast for me to see... ‘oh shi-’ I thought as I burst into flame from moving so fast, whats weird is I felt no pain, and it didn’t appear to be damaging me, so I let it go after a few seconds, wondering exactly how fast I was moving to burst into flame. This was heavily dependent on what my maximum velocity is, as well as air pressure, and--

My thoughts were interrupted as I crashed into a mountain, luckily for me, the flames blocked most of the force, and I managed to get just some broken bones in my arms and ribs, I began to flow my light into these areas, trying to heal them like in the game Jak 3. Surprisingly this worked out fine, and I was fully healed, the only difference was that my hair was now a pure white rather than the sky blue of a moment ago, and was getting in my face. I quickly reverted to my neutral form by creating a pathway back to the cave, I noticed that I could heal using my light when I was in my neutral form, by heal, I mean speed up the natural process, and dull the pain. This made the small walk slightly easier.

TIME TO EXPLAIN SOME SHIT!
