Chapter 8

‘So freaking bored,’ I thought to myself as I sped along the sky, leaving a trail of light behind me due to my dark-board’s “trail disc”. I had removed the darkness from each of the bearers of harmony but rainbow dash, which had somehow turned me back into a normal human, but they said they could take care of that, so I was left with trying to find those idiot humans who woke up discord.

All of a sudden, a large could of smoke appeared around me, and I felt something push me off my board. As I began to slowly fall to the ground, single syllable escaped my lips as I fell:

“FUUUU-”

I felt a… wet sensation all around me, I opened my eyes and say thati had landed in an orb of water a few hundred feet above the ground, I quickly equipped my dark thrusters and burst the water orb and floated to the ground, where I unequipped those and my helmet, equipped AngelBane, my shield, and my other weapons, and shouted into the area around me, “who’s there?” …no response… “Look, if you are there, I don’t want to harm you, and will only do so if you attack me, please show yourself, and I will un-equip my weapons.”

I heard a slight voice to my right, and created a small orb of light in that direction, I quickly saw a group of two humans. One was a female about my height and looked like she was of Asian descent, she seemed to be secreting smoke from her hands, her hair was an ashes white, her eyes I couldn’t see from behind a pair of goggles, she wore what looked like a school uniform, a white polo shirt with a crest I don’t recognize, navy blue slacks, dress shoes, and she had a black messenger bag. The other human was a man, about a head taller, and looked like he was of American descent, he wore a white shirt underneath a leather jacket, he also wore jeans, and skater shoes, he had a burlap sack over his shoulder. His hair was a neon green, and was sopping wet.

Upon sight of them I asked/shouted “What the fuck was that for?!” and began to rant about what was wrong with knocking me off of my board when I’m hundreds of feet off the ground.

The man cut me off after about five minutes, by shouted at the top of his lungs: “Shut up and CALM. DOWN.” I stopped my rant and just stared at him, I then pieced things together.

“So, let me guess, you’re the one who caught me in that orb of water and nearly drowned me, right?” I asked. He seemed a little insulted

“I only did that because SOMEBODY was falling to their death!” he retorted.

“Yeah, because it’s not like I have powers that allow me to FLY or anything, huh?”

“Both of you be quiet, I think I heard something,” said the girl, as her smoke wrapped around all three of us, and I heard her say “lie down, their near, don’t let them see you,” at this, I immediately removed all my light items, and kept just my classic form dark armor, and a black version of AngelBane. I heard something talking,

“Look, I don’t care if they escaped, what I’m telling you to find them, they are the only ones here, got it?” I heard a voice more like a growl say. I peeked out of the smoke to see some diamond dogs, I quickly set up a large flash of light a few miles away. The flash distracted the diamond dogs, who then ran off to investigate.

As soon as they were gone, I stood up and brushed myself off, and patted the smoke out of my outfit, I removed all my darkness based armor, to discover that my skin had gone white again from using just the darkness, and that my horns were starting to sprout out of my forehead again, and my hair was growing at an astonishing rate; it was already halfway down my back. I conjured a small dagger of pure darkness, and cut off my hair at where my neck was. I then dropped my hair to the ground, where they sizzled on contact with the earth, and evaporated into a black mist that floated up and dissipated in the air.

I quickly turned to the other humans, and asked “so, what are your powers? mine is Lumokinesis, or control over light and darkness”

“well,” said the man, “I can create and control water.”

“Ok, hydrokinetics is nice, what about you?” I asked the black haired woman in front of me.

She shrugged, and said “I can do the same thing, but with smoke”

“Thought so, so we are a Lumokinetic, a Hydrokinetic, and a Typhokinetic, are there any others?”

“Not that I know of, no,” said the woman.

“… Ok, one last question; what are your names?”

“Well, I thought that considering that we obviously aren’t on earth now, we could have new names, so I’m calling myself ‘Shade’ from now on,” said the woman.

“Well, if we’re going to go with that, call me Aqua,” Said the man looking at me, “And you are?”

“You’re going to hear it sooner or later, but my real name is Terrance, or Terra for short, but if we are coming up with names that have to do with our powers, call me Lumos.”

“So… now what?” Asked Shade.

“Well, we need to find shelter for sure, we don’t need to worry about a water source due to my power, either of you guys know anywhere?” Said Aqua.

“I could create a pathway through the darkness to my cave on the southern border of this country,” I suggested.

“Wouldn’t that take a while?” Shade asked, obviously confused.

“Have you ever played Kingdom Hearts II?” This seemed to confuse Shade even more.

“Yes, why?”

“Just think the pathways of darkness from that.” At this both Shade and Aqua seemed a little embarrassed.

“Oh,” said shade, who now understood what I was saying.

I then opened a pathway, with its destination being my cave, and handed them each a shard of my darkness, connecting them with a material similar to my hairs, and said, “Do not let go of this if your life depends on it, I made it so this will absorb all darkness that would instead flow into you. As for me… it escapes from me when I use my light-based powers.” They nodded and we stepped through.

The darkness ended at the mouth of my cave, which I had forgotten to barricade before I left. I turned around to Shade and Aqua.

“Wait here, I’ll make sure nothing got in,” I said, and, conjuring AngelBane, I walked into the cave fully armored in darkness and light , Inside I found that another of the creatures that had attacked me at what was my water source a few miles away had made this its den, it was alone, so i banished the light parts of my armor and sword, replacing it with darkness, snuck up behind the beast, and stabbed it in its skull. It was dead before it knew of my existence.

_-20 minutes later-_

I had finally checked the entire cave, and killed everything that had made said cave its den, and moved their bodies to one section with help from Aqua and Shade, who were both as exhausted as I from the heavy lifting.

“Ok, if you want any, their meat is actually quite good. You just have to cook it a bit,” I called to Shade and Aqua, who hesitantly began to try to make their own cuts of meat, Shade covering hers in willow smoke beforehand to give it a different flavor. After a few minutes of watching them stumble around trying to cook, I used a concentration of light to cook them all instantly, and we began to eat our monster steaks with cutlery made of condensed darkness, and as I said, it was delicious, think of the best steak you’ve ever eaten, now try to make it better in your mind. It was about 20 or so times better than any steak I’ve ever eaten.

After my meal, I proceeded to cook and dry the rest of the meat of the beasts, making a rather nice jerky, and stored a decent amount of it in Shade’s and Aqua’s bags, both of them had just work and school stuff in them, so we decided to just wrap it all in a small leather sheet made of the skin of the animals, and put it in the corner.

Once the meat was cooked, and removed from the skeletons, I began to use a serrated knife of the light with a dark handle to try to shape the bones into a position that would be decent for sleeping, the first two times I failed horribly, the third and fourth times however, were successful. I was now out of material for making the bone beds. This led to me telling the others I would be back… and going to a furniture store. I then stole a bed, three mattresses, and 3 sets of sheets. I then warped back with my loot in tow, and set up the three beds. The others were happy when I told them that I had beds ready, and went to sleep almost the moment they touched the mattress of their own beds, Shade was given the bed I stole, and me and Aqua took the bone beds. I then drifted into a black sleep once more.

You know, I just noticed, I’m always ending the chapters with him going to sleep now… meh, it works. MaDmAN12435/Cloud Nova falling out.
