Chapter 6: The deal and....Rainbow? ( Edited)

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

I awoke this time to the smell of cooking. Something smelling delicious. Getting up from the sleeping bag, I once again found myself in, I saw Blood Cleaver preparing something over the campfire.

“Ugh, well that was a mind fuck.” I put a hand to my head as said head was dying from pain. “When does this go away?” I ask her as she turns to look at me.

She walked up right to me saying nothing and quickly poked her fingers upon my temples. The mental pain giving way to the physical that quickly died down. “So, feeling better?” She asked me with a smile.

“Meh, a little. My mind’s kinda jumbled right now.” I respond after sighing. I took a few sniff’s in the air to try and determine what the smell was, but I just could not put my finger on it. “Whats that smell?” I ask after nodding towards the campfire.“French Toast, it’s almost done as well. Also, what should I call you, or are you sticking with Silver?” She asked me, still keeping an eye on the French Toast that looked nothing like any French Toast I had ever seen.

“Sweet, I love French Toast. And we will stick with the name. My friends, Steve and James, called me Silver Wolf for a sort of nickname because of my eyes. And my love of playing games solo.” I pulled the skin under my right eye so that she could properly see my eye color.

“Huh, never seen silver before. Let me try.” She said laying down her cooking utensils and tapped the side of her head, then turned towards me showing of her eyes to me in a similar manner to how I did. Showing me eyes the same silver color I had.

“Wait, what. How in the ever loving Heavens did you do that?” I asked. I was both confused and weirded out by what just happened. Eyes just don't change color like that. Or they can and I've just been living under a rock my hole life.

Blood Cleaver just laughed, seemingly finding my confusion hilarious. She then started explaining. “I’m sorry, I just couldn’t resist. I didn’t really change my eye color. It’s just an illusion. It really comes in handy when you don’t want anyone recognizing you.”

“Well, thats cool I geuss. So, what do we do now?” I ask before walking over to the campfire and plonking myself on a rock. She did the same but on the other side.

“Well, we could start out by eating breakfast… well, it’s breakfast for me at least. And then I would like to ask you a few questions. I have an actual reason for being in your universe after all.” She said, starting to take a few of the now ready French Toasts and put them on a plate she had.

She passed over one of the plates she had towards me. I accepted the plate happily, tore the bread in half and stuffed it in my mouth. The taste overwhelmed the buds on my tongue. “Sah, waht do yah wahnt to knaw?” I ask with a full mouth before swallowing.

“We’ll start simple, are the inhabitants of this Equestria ponies, anthropomorphic or humans?” She asked me.

“Anthros, wait did I say that right?” I answered, strangely with a question.

“I don’t know, to be honest. But it doesn’t matter as you got your point across. So, anthros then? Did you know most versions of Equestria they’re talking ponies? Also, did you know there are many like us, humans in different versions of Equestria with all kinds of different powers? We call ourselves Displaced.” She started rapid firing questions at me.

“Displaced? Cool name. And that would explain my powers.” I demonstrated by opening the covering for my sword, just enough to pull on the handle. After two inches the blade glowed blue and my demonic features appeared.

“Well, that’s ineffective. Why would you keep your powers sealed all the time if… of the flames right? Well, you are only one of many Displaced. Also you can expect stuff from the lore of the character you dressed up as to appear in this Equestria. Don’t ask why or how, but there will even be people that recognize you and know you. That’s what I meant about the memories not being fake. And with the whole Displaced stuff, I myself am an exception of sorts. I choose to be Displaced and was actually born in Equestria, in my version of Equestria we’re all humans instead of anthros or ponies.” Blood Cleaver told me.

“Well great, so am I going to expect to see a half brother demon prick called Amaimon to appear and kidnap one of my friends and I’m going to go bat shit angry and break my sword causing me to nearly kill one of my friends? Well, fuck.” I’ll be honest, I'm not happy about that. I put the sword back in its case, deactivating my power.

“No, everything you can remember is what is true. But your future is what you make it. That’s the difference of living someone else’s life and combining it with yours. I have to be honest you’re somewhat more lucky than me, you have two minds combining, I had a half complete one that I kept on draining, and that was before I became Displaced. I got put in a mental asylum for being out of my mind. But in reality I’m surprised I could function as well as I did with what I had.” Blood Cleaver told me.

‘Well, now I feel bad about what I said.’ I thought to myself. “You were in an asylum? Shit man, sorry I didn't know. Wait, is that why you look a lot like Pinkie?”

“I do? Well most don’t notice that. You have quite the eyes Silver. Yes, I do indeed look a lot like my worlds Pinkie. I told you that I once had to cope with half a mind? Well, that was because I once upon a time was a part of Pinkamena Diane Pie. But thanks to my world’s Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie’s mind was split into two, I’m what became of the second part after a few years. I became a Displaced a little more than two years ago when I used a spell and killed another Displaced, absorbing his powers. Don’t worry, he deserved his death as he was going to destroy the whole planet.” Blood Cleaver explained away the coincidence.

“Yeah, Twi’s a B, you know she didn't believe in Fluttershy about invisible demons…..ah shit of course she wouldn't have believed her she can't see them. Well I’ve got to apologize to her when I get the chance. Don’t sweat it, I kinda have a knack for sensing the truth. By the way, there’s a couple of coal tars buzzing around your face.”

“Thanks, I’ve been feeling their power levels for a while now, couldn’t find them as they’re invisible.” She said trying to swat away the coal tars from in front of her face.

“This might be a bit of a long shot but I could possibly help you see them.” I stated, brushing a lock of hair out of my face.

“Really? How?” Asked Blood looking at me with wonder in her eyes.

“There’s a thing called a Temptaint, which you get if a demon causes an injury or an infection. Now in theory, since I’m a half demon, if I bite you and draw blood with one of my fangs you should be able to see them.” I said in a matter-of-fact tone.

“Sure, I guess. I’m used to pain. Just, let’s avoid infections.” Blood said.

“Dont worry, the worst you’ll get is a fever. Besides, I'm not even sure if I can cause an infection.” I got up from the rock and walked over to her. As I got near she lifted up her arm and rolled the fabric back, exposing her skin. ‘God I hope this works or I’m going to look like a fool.’ I lowered my self so my mouth was just inches away from her arm. “Now just hold still.” I took a deep breath and bit into her arm, not too hard but enough to draw blood, and the coppery taste of blood filled my receptors on my tongue. I withdrew from her arm and spat out the blood.‘So this is what vampires drink? God, it tastes horrible.’

“Well, that’s a first. Haven’t had anyone else draw blood from me for quite a while. Now to get patched up.” She said as she did a swift movement with her arm, the blood on her arm and the blood already spilled elsewhere drew back into the arm and the wound sealed itself up. As if it hadn’t been there at all.“Well, thats some freaky shit right there.” Another coal tar buzzed around my ears so I plucked it from the air and held it in between my thumb and pointer finger. “So can you see them? Well, actually it may take a few seconds so just wait.” I said while the coal tar began to struggle in my hold.

“Nah, it’s cool. I already see them. Think the fact that I could feel them and the fact that I accelerated my blood flow just now may have played a part. Also, sorry for not telling about the blood magic. Tend to forget telling about that.” Blood said.

“Meh, its fine. It kinda reminds me of a game I played before.” I said before letting go of the small demon. “By the way, the coal tars aren't that big of a deal in small clusters, just as long as you stay away from dank moldy places and don't inhale a lot of them, you're fine.” I flicked the demon away to let it join the rest.

“Cool. So, what game did it remind you off? I might be from an Equestria, but apparently we have technology close to par on the one on Earth, according to the Displaced I’ve spoken to. Only that we also have magic, makes some games so much more awesome.” Blood told me while starting to stretch for some reason.

“Okay, have you ever heard of the game Dragon Age? Where, if you pick the mage, you can make a deal and be able to use your own blood to create dark things. But, in that game it’s forbidden to use it. Which suuucks because its really cool.” I finished with a smile on my face. Not that it was creepy at all.

“I think I’ve seen it, but I never played it. Also, blood magic is actually completely unknown. As a Solid class human, or Earth pony by the ponies system, I’m not supposed to be able to wield magic. But I learned a thing or two while I was sealed by Twilights magic inside Pinkie’s head for a year. And by combining my knowledge with the aspects of her spell I eventually broke free and then created my own magic. I’m sure she would flip if she found out. Besides me the only one to use it would be Pinkie, I taught it to her in case she would ever need it. Also I just remembered something important, do you know what year it is in this Equestria or what the most recent major event is? Time differs between universes.” Blood told me.

“Well I don't know about the year, but I do remember seeing a mismatched serpent, thingy around the town, Discord I think his name was.” I told Blood, trying to remember anything else that could help her.

“Ah, I see. What kind of house does Twilight live in?” She asked me as a follow up question.

“Okay, you won't believe this, she lives in a giant damn tree! I mean, how is that even possible. Oh wait...magic, I forgot.” Really though, that thing surprised the hell out of me.

“Ah, not quite there yet… Well, I know then that you’re at least more than six years behind my universe. Some things tend to stay the same so they make it possible to gauge time.”

“Let me guess, timey wimey, wibbly wobbly...stuff.” Gotta love Doctor Who. “So what else?” I asked.

“Doctor Who? Whatever, I’ll just give you some advice, when Discord gets the assignment to find an escapee from Tartarus, don’t trust him. Also, you recognized Pinkie Pie, so I assume you’ve met her?” Blood asked me.

“Wait how did you-? You know what never mind, I’ve just had my mind fixed and I don't want it broken again. And you mean the crazy mare that after a few simple sentences from her it turns into trying to understand physics backwards? Yeah I've met her.” I rubbed a bit of sweat out from my eyes as I finished.

“I just want to speak to her if it isn’t too much trouble. You see, the reason I’m traveling between different Equestrias is so that I can prevent the same thing that happened in mine from happening in any other. You see where I’m coming from?” She asked.

“Yeah, I do. We can leave now if you want?” I asked as I stretched and cracked my joints. I’ve always loved doing that for some reason.

“Great, let’s just kill the flames off first.” She said as she started stomping over the ashes that were left from the fire and still burning somewhat.

“No, wait! Let me try something.” She stopped stomping on the fire and gave me a confused look before shrugging and sat down at the log. “My character is able to somewhat control flames and I want to start training my power anyway.” I walked to the fire and sat down in front of it and closed my eyes. I started to direct my energy to focus on the fire. After a few seconds the fire erupted and changed into a blue fire before dying out completely. “Well that was a lot more strain than I needed.” I stated before raising to my feet. The ground felt unsteady for a second before turning back to normal.

Blood looked at the scene before her looking locked in thought. “Okay, you really need some training if that’s all you can do right now. Cause if you have any other Displaced coming here you should know that not all of them are friendly, as stated by the fact that one tried to destroy my version of Equus. I think I can help out with the training part… But it could take some time. A week or two, depending on your progress and how compatible your powers are with my training.” Blood spoke up about the situation.

“Well, other than drawing my sword completely and releasing my full demonic power, I can't do much just yet. But in the actual show, I can grow flame wings, able to throw projectiles, and what else can I do? I think thats it just now.” I told her.

She smirked at this. “When I’m done with you you’ll be able to break rocks with your pinky finger.“ She said as she demonstrated her own power by pulverizing a rock she held in her hand. She made it look easy.

“Umm, I already can do that. Demon strength in all.” I did the same to a similar rock though only a bit smaller and managed to break of a large chunk. The look on her face was priceless.

“Yeah, but how about without your powers?” She said as she recovered. “I trained for a whole two years to get to this point. It was a drawn out training to let me know as much as possible about my powers. As your powers are different I can’t do the same, meaning I’ll only be able to give you the basics. But no matter, with my special training routine, you’ll be able to keep up with even Pinkie Pie.” Blood said, back with a confident smirk.

“Yeah, first off I wasn't using my power. The strength, speed, smell and hearing all increase by itself. But being able to understand Pinkie would be a benefit though.”

“I said keep up with her, not understand her. I’m not sure I could teach that. So your strength came as natural with the changes…” Blood said in thought, but quickly returned to her smile. “Think about how you’ll be after the training!” She said.

I thought to myself for a bit. ‘ If I’m able to break stone now I might be able to break diamond in half! Hell, I’m already strong enough to pull a 20 ton stone lantern!’ Well then this will be fun. “Yeah, I think I will accept your offer.” I said, this time with a smirk.

“Great. We’ll be training here in the Everfree. If you have anything you wanna get before that or anyone you want to speak to before that you should do that now. We’ll be training for about two weeks, depending on your progress. You might not have any free time, I’m on a schedule myself so come back here when you’re ready, I’ll be setting things up.” She said as she turned around and went deeper into the forest.

“Right. I have to go say sorry anyway.” I turned towards the path in the corner of my eye and broke into a soft sprint. Later I bumped into something soft, yet hard. I fell over the object and was greeted with a blue wing slapping against my face. Rolling off I saw the rest of the thing. But it wasn't what I was expecting to see. “Rainbow?”

Both she and I were on the ground sitting up. “Yeah, it’s me. Listen I'm so-” I cut off whatever she was about to say by hugging her.

“I’m so sorry rainbow. I didn't realise at the time that you could even possibly see them without the Temptaint.” She jumped at the sudden contact but returned it all the same.

“No, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to bring up bad memories.” She replied, hugging harder. ‘ Oh yeah, thats right. Shiro’s still kinda my father isn't he?’ We broke from the hug and stared at each other.

“Well, I kind of forgot about that.” I stated, scratching the back of my head. “Aw well, come on I have to tell you and the girls something.” I said as we both made our way down the path.
