“Minecraft”
“What?”
“Minecraft”
“Wait, what?”
“MINECRAFT” Harrison repeated
“Harrison, what do you mean Minecraft?” I asked
“Look! We have trees, there is a cave, there is grass, we could just make a house!”
I wanted to slam my head up against something, I have heard a lot of stupid things in my life, but that might have just been the stupidest thing I have heard.
“Watch!” Harrison said, he walked over to a tree and began punching it
“Harrison it’s not going to just break into-“
Harrison gave a final punch and a block of wood dropped to the ground, the rest of the tree ensued
“Okay, we have like gravity but look at this!” Harrison said showing us the wood block, it looked like a simple Minecraft block in normal game, it looked to be approximately 2ft x 2ft just from my guess, wait that tree was 2ft thick? What is this?
“Here, give me this” I said, now to see if I truly didn’t understand how life really worked…
(5 Minutes later after realizing how life works)
“There we go!” I said, I had made a simple crafting table. From here we can make anything, we had our spot set and Harrison instantly took charge. We were all assigned jobs, Harrison punched the rest of the tree and told Tyler, Mike, and Nico to mine as much cobblestone as possible from the cave, and if possible, some coal too.
“Wait…what?” Nico asked, Nico was the only one here who didn’t have an Xbox, thus he had never played Minecraft, thus me making a pimped out crafting table from a block of wood must of put him in some state of awe.
“Just follow Mike and Tyler” Harrison said while handing Nico a wooden pickaxe. The wood was not amazingly strong but it would do, Harrison had sharpened the side to make it wickedly pointy, perfect for breaking through rocks, but it wouldn’t be long before it would break and it would have to be substituted with a more resilient stone pickaxe, when that day arrives we might actually get some iron, then diamond, then just make a pimped out house in the woods. Wouldn’t it just be easier to find Ponyville? Perhaps, but it sure wouldn’t be as fun :D!
Then it was time to clear the land, Harrison instructed Dan and I to cut down several trees where our house would be. We had no axes though, after Harrison made the pickaxes we had simply ran out of wood, we would have to punch the wood.
“So we just punch it?” Dan asked, the two of us examined a big tree. There were perhaps 4 or 5 pieces of wood in it thus that meant there were 20 wooden planks, meaning we could make 80 sticks. I readied my hoof and sent my hoof straight into the tree trunk, the one piece broke and the rest of the tree fell down but my hand hurt like a MOTHER FUCKER!
“Oww” I winced
We collected the wood and quickly went back to the crafting table to make a wooden axe, never again would I have to punch wood in order to harvest it. I chose a good time too, the 3 miners had exhausted their shoddy wooden pickaxes and were anxiously waiting for more stable stone ones.
“How much cobble you get?” I asked
“We got hang on, 1...2...3........4.....okay we got 147” Tyler said “Some fell in this really deep cave though; there might be iron and gold down there”
I nodded, I made 2 planks worth of sticks and made myself a small hatchet, I gave the rest of the wood to Harrison. He quickly distributed sticks and in a matter of n time the 3 hurried back into the mine with their new stone pickaxes.
I headed back to Dan; the area was like a small wooded hill. The crafting table was put at the bottom of the small area where the lake was. Up a few places was the cave off to our left, going up a little bit more was where we were and the trees, I looked behind the trees and noticed we were right in front of a large mountain, this was a perfect spot, that cave must of looped back n with the other caves that went into this mountain.
I felt like a king knowing I wouldn’t have to punch solid blocks of wood ever again. I took the axe and got to cutting, it took slightly shorter this time but that wasn’t my concern, my hoof felt a lot better now. After a while we cleared several more trees and gathered there wood, we headed back again with our nearly broken wooden axe to see what Harrison had to say
“Alright cool, should we make the walls out of like cobble or wood?” He asked
“Maybe cobble stone and then we will make the roof and floor wood?” Dan asked. Of the 7 of us here, Harrison, Dan, and I had the most experience in Minecraft. Conor and Tyler played too, but not as often as us, Mike had played once and called it “gay” and Nico had never played it.
“Cool” Harrison said “We need like beds though, so like if we die, we like respawn”
“Harrison, even if this is a lot like Minecraft, if we die, we are going to die.” I said
“So we still need to sleep somewhere.” Harrison said, true Gayan true.
It was decided, Tyler and Mike had given Ayan some of these cobblestone, he gave me a new sharp stone axe and told me to gather some more wood. While I was cutting the wood, Dan and Harrison would make the floor and then build up the walls with cobblestone.
Using the stone axe was a far cry from me punching the wooden trunk of a tree long before, the axe quickly chopped down several trees before I chose to head back and see what progress Harrison was making.
Harrison might be retarded, but he was a gifted Minecraftier. Harrison had the wooden flooring down, the floor looked to be about 8 blocks wide and 7 blocks long. Dan was about 8 feet off the ground now on a pillar of cobblestone; he quickly jumped down and began making another pillar of cobblestone
“Woah” Tyler said “Hey Harrison I think we found Dinosaur poop”
He handed Harrison something black
“This is coal” Harrison said
“No, I’m pretty sure it is dinosaur poop”
“No, this is coal” Harrison said
“I told you that wasn’t dinosaur poop Tyler” Mike said “Harrison I found this too”
He handed Harrison something
“Dude we got iron!” Harrison said in a moment of joy “We can make this into iron ingots”
“Harrison I don’t think we can just smelt iron” Nico said
(5 Minutes of learning how to smelt iron)
“Here we go!” Harrison said
Later that day we had had very few problems. Dan and Tyler went back into the mine to collect more cobblestones while I went hunting for sheep to shear. Mike, Nico, and Conor were on wood duty while Harrison went hunting for food, using the iron we made; Harrison made me a pair of shears. Luckily there were wild sheep living in this forest, it wasn’t difficult to shear the little things. Before long I had discovered a herd of 9 sheep and had enough wool for 7 beds, plus some extra wool for whatever we need it for.
Harrison returned an hour after me with food; he had found some eggs and 3 chickens. We quickly put the 3 chickens in the furnace and cooked them, it tasted gooooooooooooooooooood…don’t tell PETA though.
Harrison took my wool and set off to making beds, before long we had 7 beds. I quickly took mine and dragged it into the corner where there was a torch placed. In each corner we had one of these torches, so we could illuminate the area. Harrison took some spare wood and made a door. We placed several furnaces and 2 crafting tables in between my bed and Tyler’s bed which was far off in the next corner, a chest was placed opposite of that by Harrison’s bed.
Mike and Nico were put on guard duty, we weren’t sure if there were going to be any monsters, but we couldn’t take any chances. Harrison made them both a stone sword and gave them 2 torches to put outside.
I quickly nuzzled into my pillow, a nice long sleep was what I deserved after a long hard day at work. Just as I was about to go to sleep I heard a faint groan.
Harrison was sitting up in his bed instantly “O sugar biscuits we got company, everyone make a sword!”
