"What is it that you want to tell me?" Luna asked, staring down at Nova, after a few silent moments, he took a deep breath and said, "Well the truth is," he stopped for a few moments and sighed, "how do I start?"

"I guess there's no easy way around this." Nova took another breath and continued, "Luna, when I first asked you out, here in this garden." He said as he looked around, "Back then I didn't really expect you to agree to it."

Luna raised her eyebrow in confusion, "Well you did sound very confident back then so I guess that's kind of surprising." She looked down at him with disappointment, "Is that the big truth you wanted to reveal?"

"Well there's more to it, I didn't expect you to agree, but I still did it not because I was brave but because of a—" Nova stopped for a second, his heart pounding on his ribs, threatening to burst through his chest and into the air.

"Because of a bet." He said and glued his stare to the cold floor.

Luna stared at Nova dumbfounded for a few moments, "I don't think I understand, what bet?"

"Well, I was sitting in 'Prancing Pony' with guys and we got a little bit drunk, then Void offered me a bet." Nova looked up from the floor to still dumbfounded Luna, he offered her a weak smile and continued. "He said that I will not dare to ask you out on a date."

Luna stared blankly at Nova as gears in her mind processed the information, she needed a while but everything finally came together and her expression quickly changed as she went from confused deadpan to a horrified scowl.

"Are you telling me that this whole time, all these things were a mere game to you?"

"No!" Nova shouted almost immediately, "Of course not! It was never a game!"

"But you just said—"

"No, wait let me explain!" He said quickly and nervously wriggled in place.

Luna took a deep breath, and after few moments of silence said, "Explain then."

Nova smiled, "The thing is," He said nervously, his mind was in complete chaos right now, he couldn't help but get flustered as he searched through his mind for the right words to phrase his thoughts, "I did ask you out because of that bet right? But—" He said, almost shouting out last word, "Everything, I promise you that everything that happened afterwards, it was genuine."

Luna stared blankly at her coltfriend, her expression reflecting a mix of fear and anger building up inside her, it was only a few seconds and yet for Nova, it felt like an eternity of cold silence before Luna finally spoke.

"I have to think about it."

In this moment Nova froze, he felt his blood leaving his muzzle as he watched Luna's horn shine in vibrant blue colours. "L-Luna I—" He didn't get a chance to finish as his beloved Princess was already gone, leaving him alone in the cold gardens of Canterlot Castle.

"That could've gone better." Discord commented as he watched Luna disappear within blurs of her magic, "But it also could've been much worse, don't you agree?" He asked grinning.

Celestia observed everything unfold along with Discord, hidden behind a combination of natural flora and magic illusions, unlike her husband however her expression was that of an angry scowl. "I agree, it will get worse." She said as her horn started to lit up, only to be stopped by Discord, who put his finger atop of it.

"What do you think you're doing?" He asked.

Celestia didn't answer and simply looked at Discord with deadpanned expression, lord of chaos sighed and said, "You wanted to send him to the moon didn't you?"

"Send him to the moon? Preposterous, it's not something you can do so simply, not to mention he's just a regular batpony." Her deadpan changed back to an angry scowl as she continued, "I was going to send him straight up to the dungeons."

"You can't do that either," He said a little bit irritated, "I swear to Faust, you lose all your composure when it comes to Luna, it's almost like you're a different pony."

Celestia sighed, "I guess I am, but I can't help it." She looked up into the sky, "I lost her for a thousand years because of my own arrogance Discord, if I'll let her suffer again I don't think I'll ever forgive myself."

Discord smiled, he put his soft lion paw on her shoulder and said, "Tia, I know you want to help her but this is not the way and you know it." He gestured with his claw towards sulking Nova, "Look at him, what do you see?"

Celestia stared blankly for a couple of moments before answering, "A scared little pony."

"Exactly!" Discord exclaimed with a small clap, "He fears that Luna will reject all that they have built so far, he cares for your sister, he's afraid to lose her." Discord watched as a small smile was slowly appearing on Celestia's muzzle, "Just like you, he doesn't want to hurt her, and now he probably did, and he regrets it."

"What should I do then?" She asked.

"You know exactly what to do, talk to her, talk to him." He placed his paw on top of her head and lightly directed her stare back to himself, "Help them heal their wounds."

Celestia sighed, she smiled and nuzzled her beloved lord of chaos, "You win."

"I always do." He said proudly puffing his chest out.

"Surely, especially back when you got turned to stone."

"But that's not—"

"Twice."

"Well yes but,—"

"Or that time when you decided to team up with Tirek," Celestia cut him off again, "that didn't end very well for you if I remember correctly."

"I already apologised for that like thousand times." He said crossing his arms on his chest.

"Or that one time when you wanted to play chess with somepony, but everyone was busy so you used your magic to make one of our rugs sentient and you lost."

Discord deadpanned at the comment, "How do you know about that?" He quickly asked.

Celestia giggled and lit her horn slightly, lord of chaos simply stood there confused and dumbfounded as she disappeared in her yellow magic. For a few moments, he stood in silence before disappearing in a puff of smoke with an irritated scowl on his muzzle.
