Dashing Star trotted back and forth waiting for his date to leave her room.

"A date." Star said out loud blushing a little, after he and Moonlily first met Dashing never expected that their relationship will ever be beyond calling each other friends, but with tonight it might change.

Amount of courage he had to gather in order to just ask her out to the Gala was outstanding, but he knew that were was no going back the moment he asked Nova for additional ticket.

Star's ears perked up as he heard a quiet squeak behind him, that noise was announcing Moonlily's leaving her room. Star's breath changed from almost stable to rapid, he remembered how nervous he was during his first race many years ago, back then he felt sick from the pressure of all these eyes watching him as he entered a big stage.

This time it was much, much worse.

"Sorry for making you wait."

Star made a quick turn and his jaw dropped down as all of his nervousness was momentarily replaced with admiration.

Moonlily was beautiful, he knew that from the first time he met her as a maid, he especially fell in love with her vibrant eyes that made the night sky look pale in comparison, but right now she looked gorgeous.

She wore a long, navy blue dress which made her light blue fur shine, she had a small necklace with amethyst which shimmered with purple light, same color as her mane. Speaking of her mane, she didn't wear it in usual long and straight fashion, the middle of her mane was going straight until the last few strands on her back that were curled upwards, left and right side were both curled to the right, a few strands of hair cowering her forehead.

"Hello? Star"? She asked gently.

"I....you, I mean I...." Star mumbled out.

Moonlily chuckled and smiled, "I take it that you like it?" She asked as she pointed to her dress and then her mane.

Dashing Star.exe stopped working. Shy colt stared at his date not really believing that this is really happening.

"I'm flattered Star, but we'll be late for the Gala." She said and chuckled a couple more times.

Star mumbled something under his nose and then shook his head rapidly a few times. "Wow, you look..."

She batted her eyelashes and asked. "I look how?"

"I am trying to find anything better than 'outstanding', but I can't think of anything."

Moonlily laughed. "Then don't hesitate."

Star nodded and smiled, "You look outstanding, Moonie."

She blushed a little and with a small confusion asked, "Moonie?"

"You don't like it?" He asked, suddenly feeling embarrassed.

She looked up and rested her chin on her hoof, "Let's see, no I think I like it." She smiled and walked over to Star, she leaned slightly onto him catching him completely off guard. "Shall we go then?"

Star was now crimson red on his muzzle, part of nervousness from before came back as the initial shock of seeing Moonlily was gone. "S-Sure." He managed to say quite clearly.

"By the way Star," She said as they walked side by side towards the main hall, where opening ceremony will be held, "you look very handsom tonight."

Moonlily wasn't just saying that to make him feel less nervous, Star bought a suit especially for this occasion, a black well-fitted, double-breasted suit. His usually messy mane was combed backwards, which looked both official and funny at the same time.

"Thanks." He answered, still feeling uneasy from how close they were.

"Hey Star, do you think that—"

" Holy sh—"

Moonlily and Star looked at each other dumbfounded by the noise that prevented her from finishing her sentence.

"Where did that come from?" Star asked as he looked around.

"I think it was from the outside."

Star nodded and they both walked over to the closest window, after they looked out of it Star looked around the entrance to the castle and noticed two batponies rolling around on the ground, both of them seemed to rub their tongues with their hooves in disgust.

"Are these, Void and Adamant?" He said his thoughts out loud, "The hell are they doing?"

"Who knows." Moonlily commented gaining his attention, "We can ask them later, let's go we're really going to be late."

Star nodded and they left the scene, continuing their walk to the main hall.

"We're going to be late, ohhh we are going to be late!" Adamant shouted between his breaths as he and Void rushed throught the Canterlot City, leaving only dust and surprised faces behind.

"I wonder whose fault will that be!" Void shouted back.

Adamant slowed a bit in order to move closer to Void, who was running behind him, "And what does that mean?!"

"Well, if you didn't take so long to dress up, we would've been there long time ago!"

"Ha, you guys really don't understand anything, if you want to catch the best fish you need to bring in the best equipment!" He motioned with his muzzle to his suit. "Picking out a proper suit out of my collection is a time-consuming and important job, and you know that I can't keep my suits in the castle barracks!"

"Remind me why did I come along?!" Void asked visibly annoyed.

"Cause you didn't have anything to wear." Adamant added.

"Cause I didn't have any mare?! What?!"

"I said 'cause you didn't have anything to wear' how could you not hear that, we are running next to each other for fucks sake!"

Void gritted his teeth, "You know what, screw this next time you're picking up your suit on your own."

"Fine by me. And by the way, you really don't have any mare!"

"Fuck you!" Void remarked as he pushed Adamant with his shoulder as they ran.

"You little..." Adamnt mumbled under his nose and returned the favor, duo of running batponies started to push each other as they were getting closer and closer to the castle gates.

In fact, because of that argument they didn't realize they were already that close to the gates.

"Hey you two! Slow down!" A guard shouted and jumped out of the way of two running stallions, who although finally noticed what was happening, were too late to react properly.

They both started to slow down rapidly, but suddenly Adamant tripped over Voids front hoof and they both were sent flying.

Void and Adamant could only stare as physics were executing their laws, they both turned pale and felt horrified as they realized that their stares were getting closer to each other.

" Holy sh—"

Were the last words that Void managed to shout out before his lips were painfully forced against Adamant's as they both stared at each other in horror.

After few more painful seconds they finally were free from each other, and they both started to roll around on the ground and rob their tongues with their hooves.

After good few minutes of spitting and clearing their mouths with water from nearby fountain they looked at each other and Void said, "This never happened."

"What never happened?"

"Exactly."
